Reviews for Hôtel Posta - Vecchia
Review 1:We were in deep trouble (with US$ that no Corsican bank would exchange) and the staff at Posto Vechio actually found a hotel (in Ajaccio) and coordinated our travels to save the day! Not to mention all the great things about the hotel: location, cleanliness, quiet etc.
Review 2:Nothing to dislike. This was my third stay in this hotel.
Review 3:This is a cosy, no-nonsense hotel with a good breakfast, good staff and lovely views of the entrance to the port, especially at sunrise as the early ferries arrive (ask for a room with a sea-view). The Old Town and the beautiful Old Port area are only a short walk away in one direction, and the massive Place St. Nicholas (with its underground car-park) and the town-centre is a short walk in the other direction.
Review 4:No fridge in the room and pillows like flat rocks!
Review 5:The location and fact that we could have a family room for four (with view) were the positive points for us, as we were only in Bastia to catch the morning ferry to Nice.
Review 6:Missing fridge, Wifi was not working, spending extra money on rooming services.....missing safe box, no hair dryer
Review 7:Close to the Old Hardboard & nice restaurant area
Review 8:Lack of a lift to get to the upper floors, lack of a bidet in the bathroom (but this is the norm in France). The breakfast is definitely standard, maybe a little too expensive for what is served. Not very easy to find parking nearby, if you have to move your car often, maybe this is not the best hotel for you.
Review 9:Great location near Bastia town center and old port.
Review 10:Elevator to higher floor is smallest possible. One luggage and one person. But experience is interesting.
Review 11:Very nice view to the see and short distance to old town restorans. Lot on restorans srtight front of hotel on the promenade.
Review 12:The air condition in the single room was out of fuction. When it was turned on, the room was even hotter. It was too hot that my friend who stayed in the signle room couldn't sleep well.
Review 13:The location is good the staffs are kind.
Review 14:Some music from local open-air bars, but not a problem as all went quiet after midnight.
Review 15:Location excellent as a short-break base for exploring. Staff welcoming. Rooms (sea view) spacious and clean.
Review 16:Minor complaints: Bed was a little hard. Shower was hand held so you could not stand under it. WIFI had anoying time out so you had to keep logging back in.
Review 17:Great location. I would stay again.
Review 18:Can't believe this rates as a three star, More like one star. WiFi worse than hopeless, bathroom badly designed, shower head useless. Wardrobe poor quaility. No lift in our building. No hairdryer, small bed, tiny TV. Toiletries lacking.
Review 19:The only redeeming features are location, room with a sea view and cleanliness.
Review 20:nothing
Review 21:Position and sea-view are spectacular even from our small last floor room with no balcony (only window) . We liked the in-style refurbished old building, the kindness of the owner and the cleanliness of the room. Ferry docks and historical center is just few steps away Breakfast is good though the choiche ath the buffet is not so wide. Be aware that last floor rooms need some additional steps
Review 22:we were there on a Friday it was very noisy all night with people outside our room due to the local clubs and bars.
Review 23:Stayed for one night before we cached a ferry great location only 5mins from the port. secure parking for motorcycle. Close to the harbour and restaurnats
Review 24:Our very overpriced room that needed major re-thinking and redecorating. Everything was crammed together eg the toilet positioned against the bath. There was a large black damp stain in the bedroom. Not 3 star.
Review 25:Convenient location for train and ferry and wandering around citadel. Good restaurants nearby. Helpful staff.
Review 26:no negatives at all - a perfect little hotel :)
Review 27:Michel at front desk made us so welcome. The room was beautiful, so clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was spotless, and roomy. On arrival, we repaired to a close by restaurant and ate delicious salad and pizza. It was 11pm and restaurants were still serving food. The hotel is in the middle of a busy, social scene and charming. The hotel itself is quiet, which we liked. We got a lovely breakfast, cheerfully delivered to our room.
Review 28:We liked nothing. Our room was not on the main building. There was meant to be a lift but no, there was meant to be wifi but no. Rooms were very basic. Beds tired. Not value for money.
Review 29:Location
Review 30:All topp
Review 31:We had a great stay for one night, beds good and staff friendly ad helpfull. Thank you Agnes ;-) Very easy to get to restaurants and ferry. Good breakfast. All in all a plesant stay and would stay there again.
Review 32:Wi-fi constantly failing, old room equipment, bit dirty bathroom, generally very overpriced, two stars not three
Review 33:Receptionist, location (ideal dor those taking a ferry)
Review 34:in description they say the hotel has lift but they dont and a have to carry my luggage on the stairs (25kg), parking was horror, i was circling the hotel 1 hour and 20 minutes to find a paid parking. expensive for his facilities.
Review 35:near port and center town, room was clean but very small.
Review 36:I can not say anything negative about this hotel.
Review 37:The staff was very helpful. At least one full time staff member spoke very good English. She helped us find the locations we were looking for, arranged for Taxis and was very pleasant to visit with. The staff made us feel welcome and made our stay very pleasant. The view from our room was exceptional. Able to watch the ferries turn around right in front of window.
Review 38:Not as close to ferry as advertised - got lost!
Review 39:wifi connection to be improved

Review 60:no parking at hotel, no bar, no tea making in room, odd shower
Review 61:location, comfy bed, air con, view from room, quiet, friendly reception.
Review 62:Internet signal comes and goes on the second floor. The shower can be a bit tricky. Expensive breakfast.
Review 63:great room-view, comfy bed

Review 67:Wifi not good
Review 68:Location Friendly staff
Review 69:Agnes at reception was fabulous.
Review 70:Price was a little steep
Review 71:Location, view and room
Review 72:WiFi was too weak to get in the room. Breakfast was ok. Would have enjoyed a little more variety in the choices i.e. provide soft boiled eggs, local cheese and meat.
Review 73:Perfect location for a last night in Corsica before getting on the morning ferry. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small, clean, quiet, comfortable room. Perfect for walking everywhere, lots of restaurants, live music and excellent people watching on a Saturday night. Inexpensive public parking close to the hotel.
Review 74:Maybe a bit expensive compared to what one could find in the island
Review 75:Excellent location, with very good restaurants around Staff was friendly and ready to help
Review 76:I thought the breakfast was very poor for the price (9 euros). The bread/croissants weren't fresh and there was nothing really healthy to eat.
Review 77:The hotel is very central, in a quiet side street close to the sea. It is quiet and comfortable.
Review 78:Room was on the fifth floor, and had a low sloping roof. Lift was tiny and only went as far as the fourth floor, so bringing up big bags was a bit tricky.
Review 79:Great location. Tidy room. Spacious bathroom with a bath. Incredible view of harbour.
Review 80:Staff was very co-operative and helpful. It was very nice to know all the information at the hotel itself as the Office de tourisme was closed. For example, the transport, touristic places etc...
Review 81:Service at breakfast was difficult for 3 people when only given one tray and no plates.Waitress was not very helpful.
Review 82:Location to the ferry was excellent! Having the hotel option when booking the ferry also excellent. Easy internet access.
Review 83:No parking on site and little public parking available. Tiny lift. Quite expensive.
Review 84:Convenient location for old port and New port. Old and full of character . Some rooms with lovely sea views.
Review 85:very small elevator, very small stairways which was difficult with a large suitcase. Elevator can only reach a few rooms you must use stairs for the rest. No private parking, and street parking was constantly full. Parking at market costs 14 euro/day
Review 86:near market and ferry, beds were rather good, breakfast was nice.
Review 87:decor a bit jaded - but clean.
Review 88:24 hr reception. All staff extremely helpful. Room aircon very quiet. We would use this hotel again on another visit. Very close to all seafront restaurants 1 - 5 minutes walk. Also sea port is nearby
Review 89:Room is a bit small but if you wish to stay for one night after the boattrip from Italy or France its a great place.
Review 90:The view on the sea, nice to sea the ferries out of the window. Nice location in Bastia
Review 91:couldnt fault it really only here for one night and it was what we required, bathroom bit small but not a big problem really
Review 92:good location, excellent view, had a view of all ferries coming into Bastia from hotel room. Man at reception extremely friendly.
Review 93:Hotel is "over-stared" and therefore overpriced. Tumbledownwould be a good description. Walk from miniscule lft to room involved up& down four sets of stairs.
Review 94:Cleanliness marginal, room, bed and bathroom were all too small. WiFiwas tenuous, appeared that we could only have one device online at atime and then couldn't connect at all so in the end we gave up.
Review 95:Location was okay.
Review 96:the rooms are very basic, the hotel is old, elevator goes only to 1st floor and can hardly hold one person with a suitcase.
Review 97:he hotel is clean and well positioned in the centre of the old town/harbour
Review 98:Bathroom sink got clogged up, but then again, it seems to be the rule at all hotels.
Review 99:The location is the best, too central. Nice breakfast for 8 euro. All good
Review 100:It is hard to find a place to park during rush hours. Hopefully, some parking places are being freed throughout evening and night.
Review 101:The location is very good, near the Old Port and very close to the ferry terminal.
Review 102:Attitude of the final receptionist when we left. Very arrogant and unfriendly when collecting our bags after a long day on the bikes, even though we were paying customers. A said mark on an otherwise nice hotel.
Review 103:Facilities - luggage room. Some very friendly staff.
Review 104:Parking - even at the beginning of the season is not easy. Be prepared to wait a long time for a slot within walking distance of the hotel
Review 105:Great location between the old port and the ferry terminals. With a sea view the constant ferry traffic is fun to watch. Friendly staff and pleasant room
Review 106:I enjoyed the city of Bastia on the Mediterranean Sea. There are several good restaurants, the one next to the hotel has a lot of potential. There are some beaches close by but they are not that easily attained. Nice architecture, nice for a two day stay.
Review 107:I did not sleep very well and only a few hours because I could hear everything from the next room, where a very loud group of youth made a lot of noise during the complete night. Very clearaudient.
Review 108:The room was new renovated and clean.
Review 109:No ramp to roll luggage (tough for handicapped), breakfast coffee poorquality as was orange juice and packaged cheese - overpriced.

Review 113:Wifi was poor, and intermittent
Review 114:Great location
Review 115:pleasant simple and good value..
Review 116:Just not worth 3 stars. Felt depressing
Review 117:Perfect location, staff were very helpful and friendly. Restaurants right around the corner and the sea right out the front door.
Review 118:Noisy and couldn't get the zircon to work so needed to keep windows open, thus noisy night.
Review 119:Great location and view
Review 120:Excellent location and staff was very pleasany
Review 121:very nice view of the port.
Review 122:cramped room, minuscule lift not up to room level
