Reviews for Little Italy
Review 1:when we got in to our room we discovered that it had not been cleaned from the last person the bed was not made still had pervious persons sheet on there was dirty wet towels on the bathroom floor when we complained was told would have to wait an hour for it to be cleaned this was after a long journey very noisy at night from down stairs bar very unhelpful staff this was when you could find a staff member as they were hardly around paid £6 for breakfast this was in your room which was a cake there was a kettle in room but no cups to drink from or ant tea bags or coffee
Review 2:there was nothing at all i liked about my stay hear can only say would never stay again
Review 3:They had no cots as advitised. When asking where we go for breakfast we were told it was in our room but for £6 all that was there was a long life croissant. We ended up not staying and getting a refund
Review 4:Room was overheated. 'Breakfast' in room was a kettle/plastic cup/nothing to add hot water to/two croissant. Did not eat, ergo, not delicious. Advised that parking was readily available on street which it was but unknowingly (because it was unlit) parked in front of a private garage and got a mouthful from the irate owner next morning! Chocolate on the pillow? Not as such. Stunning view? Shutters on building opposite just visible over the parapet outside my window.
Review 5:I was very tired from a long cold journey on an unheated cross channel ferry. The (I assume) manager offered me a drink which I gladly accepted.
Review 6:You can get cheaper hotel. Restaurant was noisy with some poorly performing singer with guitar.
Review 7:Comfortable room, possible to park on the street free of charge.
Review 8:The fact that you can only get your room after 18.00 was inconvenient. No possibility to have a breakfast was also inconvenient. There was a lot of noise (music) from the bar and restaurant immediately below us but this had stopped by 11.00 pm.
Review 9:It has a great location, just two blocks from the beach. Parking could be problematic during high season but in late October we had no trouble finding a parking spot within a block of the hotel.
Review 10:No luxury, but cant be expected to such a cheap price.
Review 11:Friendly staff - good large beds and an okay bathroom - very cheap price, means good value for money
Review 12:This is a fun place with really loud live music. I asked them to turn it off at 1am, as it showed no signs of ending and our room was directly above the restaurant.
Review 13:packet breakfast in room and plastic cups for hot drinks could do with a few nice cup and saucers a few little pots of milk and some tea the loo seat needs replacing really as it was cracked
Review 14:friendly welcome, very nice staff, great accommodation. The food is spot on try the Gina Pizza its the best pizza ever !!!! we where made to feel almost like family we wouldn't normally have thought yes we will go back but in this case we will go back just to see the staff and enjoy the friendly ambience of little italy. the bedroom was very comfortable, clean towels brought to the room daily these guys would do anything to make us welcome and happy 5 mins to a great beach and good beach side cafes to chill out. it was a real pleasure.
Review 15:This is not a real "Hotel". Check-In was only possible after 18:00 as then the Bar/Restaurant opens. There is no one from the "Hotel" that you could ask when the Bar/Restaurant are not operating. The street is quite loud so you couldn't really open the window. There is no air condition. You can hear the sound and the guests from the bar below in the room. Moreover, the manager celebrated a party on our second night and it was impossible to sleep as the music was that loud that many items in the room were vibrating. It was literally like trying to sleep within a disco. A discussion with the manager did not improve the situation and the party went on until 2 am - even longer counting the people remaining in front of the bar. You shouldn't rent a room when you are doing something like this - it is just not acceptable. Also there was no WiFi info in the room. No parking lots from the hotel - you just had to be lucky to find space at the pavement or the side streets. The shutter in the bathroom was broken and you couldn't have a normal shower (standing) without flooding the bathroom.
Review 16:The rooms were bright and friendly and well equipped. The bed was big and pretty comfortable - except the pillows.
Review 17:Not able to get into the room until 6pm. Advertised as breakfast included. Breakfast was tea bag or coffee in a plastic cup, prepackaged long self life pretend pastry.
Review 18:The bed was comfortable.
Review 19:Location near the beachfront in Dunkirk. Super stop over to or from Ferry. Room / Rooms were excellent and the bed was the most comfortable of all in our 2 week trip. We were there when the bar was closed so missed out on its facilities but maybe also on the noise ( if there is any ).
Review 20:Easy to find parking, and they even upgraded us to a 2 bedroom. Everything was perfect. We stopped there for 1 night before catching the ferry in the morning, and had time to walk on the beach. We took a pizza from their restaurant to our room, and were able to relax in front of the TV after a long days drive.
Review 21:Just need to have milk in the rooms to go with coffee as we dont drink black coffee .
Review 22:Lovely comfortable beds big bath bar and food lovely and late check out.
Review 23:you cannot get in until restaurant opens at 6pm thank goodness it was not raining room just ok bath leeked one night only would have been enough
Review 24:One of our bedrooms had a window that did not open, including the blinds. It was dark. Other room was great!
Review 25:We were very close to the beach. The staff was fantastic & very helpful.
Review 26:Room at the top of a very steep and narrow stair case - a huge fire risk. Hotel shut on our arrival. No proper breakfast available as no staff on hand. We were given the outside door key. The place was dark and empty inside.
Review 27:I phoned to say we were having problems finding the hotel, they spoke very little English. We arrived at 2.10 and received a text to say they would be open again at 6pm.
Review 28:its closed on wed's -call on arrival, but limited english spoken on phone. resuraunt closed wed, and no breakfast supplied as kitchen closed thur mornings. kettle in room/tea & coffee- no sugar or milk?, and two cheap pastries in room for next days breakfast. its not really a hotel , more a italian bar with a few rooms up lots of stairs.
Review 29:great bed and large clean room.own front door key, and 5 mins walk to the beach. bikes park on pavment outside hotel. Free beer from owner when he arrived to let us in. very polite.
Review 30:toilet did not flush well, had to repeatedly flush to get toilet paper to go away, ended up throwing it in the bin most times.
Review 31:dark rooms comfortable bed
Review 32:They had a live guitarist on the Thursday night we stayed. Didn't say before and it Was a little loud for our kids.
Review 33:The bed and rooms were very big.. Restaurant served very nice food. Good atmosphere.
Review 34:Our room was directly above the restaurant/bar. We had a nice meal and a convenient place to retire for the night. This hotel is good for a short stop en route to the Dunkirkque ferry.
Review 35:No one turned up to cook breakfast but money was refunded straight away in euros
Review 36:Room was lovely and had a massive bathroom everyone was very lively and friendly on arrival
Review 37:Please note, that restaurant and hotel are open from 6pm... when we leave the room, there was nobody else in the building ;)... we leave key in mail box... It may be bit noisy, as restaurant is pretty busy.
Review 38:Huge, nice arranged and romantic... bathroom :) and meal in restaurant. Hotel is 3 minutes walk from beach.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:Friendly staff and very nice rooms. Not English speakers, but went out of their way to accommodate us. Location was superb. Close to beach and restaurants.
Review 41:No hair drier. Hotel not suitable for those with mobility problems as there is no lift and room was up two flights of steep and narrow stairs. Shower was at knee height and difficult to get into. Room was very small and cluttered with no space for cases. Restaurant was fully booked (Saturday night) and we had to go elsewhere and when we returned found the parking extremely difficult and had to walk a long way back to the hotel. Breakfast is not worth the price - 2 croissants, fruit juice and tea/coffee.
Review 42:Spotlessly clean room.
Review 43:Lack of attempt by staff to speak English or communicate Very noisy on the second night as room was so close to the other and doors were less than a meter away. Road got quite noisy at night. Booking reference said we could check in at 16.00 but we had to wait outside until 18.00.
Review 44:Beautiful rooms Comfortable Within walking distance to beautiful sandy beaches Complimentary toiletries Clean towels and bedding on both nights
Review 45:friendly welcome clean well furbished room(s) ample space as we took the 4 person option with the adjoining room for our 2 children friendly people (locals in bar) reasonable bar and menu prices
Review 46:Nothing really.
Review 47:This hotel hides lovely bedrooms which were clean and luxurious. Don't be put off by outside which is nice too but is a small hotel with 5 star bedrooms.
Review 48:Room was directly above restaurant and it was pretty loud in the evening until approx.11 p.m. Bathroom contained only a tiny amount of toilet paper, just the very last few bits of a roll and no spare roll provided. No bags or other means for female sanitary products provided - especially unfortunate, as the only rubbish bin was open, without a lid. The hotel advertised that it provided shampoo / showergel - this was correct, but two of the four little shampoo bottles had already been half used up by previous visitors!! The cleaning staff had obviously not replaced the used shampoo bottles. Also, the cleaning staff did not notice, that there were clothes from a previous visitor in the wardrobe... One of the TV sets did not work, as the cable had been torn out. Oh well, minor nuisances, but were happy on the whole with the hotel and will book it again.
Review 49:Position: Excellently placed 5 min from beach - Fantastic!!! Rooms: Two cosy joint rooms with bathroom for 4 people - great for travelling with children. Rooms and bathroom were nicely furnished (lots of mirrors, candles in bathroom, big wardrobe, desk, TVs in both rooms, etc.) Beds were very comfortable. Very good price with good value!!! Perfect for one night stop before / after taking the ferry to Dover.
Review 50:Breakfast pre booked for 8 A.M. At 0810 no sign of life on the premises so we walked up to the street to buy something for our breakfast. we returned at about 9 A.M. to find that a waitress was on site who had to phone management for what charges to make as well as how to use pdq machine. According to Little Italy's website, booking out is between 0800 and 1200 So what happened to the remainder of the staff? Arrogance French Style best sums up our experience.
