Reviews for Hôtel Vert

Review 1:Quality of the products served at the buffet was low-standard, it would be nice if the quality of the food was locally sourced as in some other French hotels.

Review 2:The staff at the reception was very well informed on things to do in the vicinity and provided a lot of support pre- and during the stay. Rooms really nice and comfortable. The breakfast is pretty large.

Review 3:you have to log into internet every 15/20 minutes because it disconect.... its a little bit annoying, but anyway the speed is ok. The breakfast is 8,5 euros (all you can eat), too expensive....

Review 4:The locations is perfect. The hotel is pretty good. I would go back again to this place.

Review 5:It was a good experience but would have been much better if there had been coffee/ tea making facilities in our room. I found their absence disappointing. Toiletries were also somewhat absent.

Review 6:I liked the very comfy beds and the lovely clean bed linen. Breakfast was also very acceptable with sufficient variety of the continental kind. Free shuttle to Mont san Michel and good service overall.

Review 7:The hotel is located in the center of the tourist area, just a few steps from the shop and the shuttle stop to the Mont Saint Michel. The receptionists were very hospitable.

Review 8:Would be better if they have their own restaurant.

Review 9:The station for the free bus to Mont Saint Michel is just right outside the hotel. Friendly staffs, good internet, English TV channel.

Review 10:Very spartan in every way. Just a place to sleep and pick a few empty calories before heading off the next day.

Review 11:It certainly was cheap enough, but not particularly a great value

Review 12:My only issues were with the wifi. It frequently disconnect about every 20 minutes. A bit annoying when you're trying to organise important flights and so on.

Review 13:good bathroom and beds. Plenty of storage. I loved the presence of the desk and bath.

Review 14:Nothing, restaurants in Mont Saint Michel open only after 19h, if you travel and arrive starving in the afternoon you will only find sandwiches and snack...

Review 15:Close mont saint michel, 10 min, shuttle in front of hotel

Review 16:noisey students who stayed in the neighboring rooms that same night, however it is not the hotel's fault.

Review 17:location is good, in the "hotel area" not far from Mount Saint-Michel and the free shuttle stop is right before the hotel. Basic room but clean.

Review 18:The room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety (juices, milk, warm milk, coffee, hot chocolate, ham, cheese, baguette, butter, jams, croissants, hard-boiled eggs). The staff was very polite and customer oriented.

Review 19:When we arrived, we did not realize that the hotel was beyond the "barriere" to Mont St-Michel. We called the hotel and they gave us the access code, and from there, we truly realized what an excellent location this was. We were able to drive to the base of MSM without any trouble to get some quick shots before checking in. The rooms were standard, clean and comfortable enough. But the location wins out!

Review 20:Not a criticism of the hotel but of the area in general, restaurants stop serving at about 9:15pm so if you are not at a table by then you will be stuck for eating options...

Review 21:Comfortable bed and good selection of television channels. WiFi worked well. Good selection for breakfast in large breakfast room. Helpful smiling staff. About a 25 minute walk to the Mont. There is a free shuttle bus that stops just across the road. Buses are very regular. The bus from Pontorson train station also stops directly opposite the hotel which is useful. The price for that trip is €3.20 and it takes about 15 - 18 minutes.

Review 22:It's very basic in everything, don't expect anything special. Furthermore, the communication about how to get on the enclosed terrain by car (you need a special code) could be better. We had to phone the hotel when we stood in front of a closed gate, despite having specifically contacted the hotel beforehand about arriving by car.

Review 23:Location near mont saint Michel and friendly staff. No major negative points.

Review 24:Very weak wifi. No refrigerator in the room. No common toilet. Too simple breakfast. Service is normal.

Review 25:Not so expensive even good location and bigger room. Superstore is next door. Shuttle bus stop to MtStMichel is very near.

Review 26:The hotel is tired and dated, many stains on the carpet and old fashioned. The back of the tap in our room was filthy, it looks like the person who cleaned the room was just too short to see how dirty it was behind the tap. The coffee at breakfast was disgusting. We are used to fresh espresso and this was boiled up coffee left to reheat over and over, undrinkable.

Review 27:The location was good for access to Mont St Michel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 28:internet was not very good

Review 29:Close to the bus stop to the free shuttle to Mont st Michel, and to Pontorson and Rene. Next to the big shop which contains supermarket

Review 30:Location is excellent, as the free shuttlebus stops right in front of the hotel and takes perhaps 5 minutes or so to reach the Mont-Saint-Michel. Much cheaper and quiter, no hassle with the luggage, quick to arrive and to get away.

Review 31:Using barrier system for first time was a bit confusing, but easy when you know how. At barrier, ring number given, quote password given and they will give you a pass number. Also, WiFi wouldn't connect. Smallish room, no tea or coffee.

Review 32:Very good location on land side if the causeway leading to the Mont. In a quiet location. Shuttle bus stops outside hotel. Nice restaurant, run by same company as hotel, in front as well as other hotel restaurants.

Review 33:Perfect for families. The staff were great and the location was perfect for visiting Mont Saint Michel with shuttles departing directly in front of the hotel every ten minutes up until 1am.

Review 34:Had a little trouble with the wifi. Only one person could be logged on at once.

Review 35:Clean and comfortable in a good location for visiting the Mont. pleasant and helpful staff.

Review 36:Tricky to find even with gps

Review 37:Great location and clean comfy hotel. We were able to visit Saint Michael during the night by bus (came by every ten minutes). Well worth being near cathedral.

Review 38:Nothing so far

Review 39:The location is just right next to tourist information, convenience to take a shuttle bus to Mont Saint Michel. Near by the hotel are restaurants and souvenir store with fast food shop. I would recommend this hotel.

Review 40:GPS could not find it. Just head to the island bet get the pass code first then go thru the gate. Took several e-mails for them to send me the code. They kept wanting me to call but i did not have a phone plan that would allow it.

Review 41:Perfect location - was easily able to visit the monastery day and then again at night. There restaurant was very good and also reasonably priced.

Review 42:I was quite impressed with this hotel. Clean, room was good sized, and extremely close to Mont Saint Michel. The shuttle out there stops in front and there is a grocery store next door.Plus,I was excited to find a few English speaking channels on the TV. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any budget traveler.

Review 43:no elevator, it means you need to take your luggage by stairs. there is only one wifi login account for each room, very inconvenient for accessing into the internet with several devices.

Review 44:Friendly staff who can speak english, a large and tidy room, quiet environment

Review 45:Very few quality food options nearby. In general, the area around Mont San Michel is expensive for low quality food, lodging, etc

Review 46:The hotel was ok, clean and within walking distance of Mont San Michel (30 minutes walking)

Review 47:Very touristic area (obviously) with many bus loads of tourists, can be rather crowded, althought tourist trafic is very efficiently handled. Internet connection kept cutting out.

Review 48:Nice location at walking distance from Mont Saint Michel.

Review 49:wifi was spotty in our room which was at the very end of the corridor.

Review 50:location is very convenient to Mont St Michel. we arrived after 1900 therefore we did not have to pay to enter the hotel area. we parked our car right in front of hotel. staff was friendly and helpful. the room was clean and just large enough for a family of 4. free shuttle bus to Mont St Michel was a 300 meter walk to the closest pick up point. on the way back the drop off point is actually in front of hotel. we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant to the right of hotel. a large gift shop with sandwiches and snacks is located to the left.

Review 51:The closing of bus stop (temporarely) that make us walk too much.

Review 52:- Location : the bus stop is just in front of hotel (but the period that we were there, the bus stop has been temporarely closed due to road maintenance. : near the restaurant : only 2.2 kilometres from Mont Saint Michel which you can walk or take free shuttle bus (from06.00a.m. to 01.00 a.m.) The room is clean and comfortale

Review 53:We were not informed that we needed a code to open the gate to the restricted part of the Mont, which is where the hotel is located. If you have a cell phone, you can call the hotel for the code. We did not have a cell phone and the phone calling function on the gate did not work, so we had to pay 5 Euros to a waitress at a nearby restaurant to open the gate.

Review 54:Location is great - an easy, pleasant 20-minute walk to the Mont whenever you want and a very short three-minute walk to the restaurant Relais du Roy, which was excellent! Beds were comfortable, the water pressure was ample and the shower was clean and large.

Review 55:They don't automatically send you a security code ahead of time because it costs 4€ (but free after 7 pm), so they don't want to charge you for a code that you don't need. Understandable (even commendable), but awkward for tourists with no cell-phone.

Review 56:Very friendly, helpful staff.

Review 57:It's a nice budget hotel if you are travelling with your family, staff are nice, friendly and very helpful to answer all your questions. It's not in the MSM town but only takes you 20min walk to the front gate or 3min on the free shuttle bus. You need to get the access code if you are travelling by car to enter the compound from the reception but it's very easy to do so.

Review 58:Not having a tea and coffee making facility in our room.

Review 59:The convenience to Mont St Michel & the good selection of restaurants. The hotel itself was nice and bright.

Review 60:- furniture quite basic; - only soap and head-and-body wash liquid available in the bathroom

Review 61:- VERY good location; - quiet room; - close to restaurants and the historical site; - comfortable bed

Review 62:Tout parfait. Nous étions dans une chambre quadruple pour 2 nuits. Idéalement situé à quelques pas de la navette du Mont Saint-Michel, également accessible à pied.

Review 63:Wifi not good….have to get new code for each device, then sometimes that did not work either. I think I went and asked at reception 3 times. Breakfast not included. We paid the 8euro/person as the kids needed to eat. Was VERY basic.

Review 64:Location was the best…we could walk to the shuttle to take us to MSM, which is the benefit of staying close is that we could stay quite late.

Review 65:The location is perfect. It is near the main bus station to-from Rennes station. 2-3 minute walk to the free shuttle bus to Mont Saint Michel. Staff are nice and friendly.

Review 66:Our room was huge and very clean. Breakfast had a wide assortment of items, very worth the price. Walking distance to Mont St Michel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Not fancy but more than adequate for our family. Would stay here again.

Review 67:Wifi very unstable, restaurants in the area are quite expensive.

Review 68:Very good location, near the free bus stop to mt. st. Michel. Helpful staff, they gave good tip about coming after 19:00, when the entrance to the area is free. Shop and bistro in front of the hotel.

Review 69:Wi-fi wasn't fast and only for one device with necessity entry login every internet-session((( And there is no elevator.

Review 70:Near the bus-stop and Mont-Saint-Michel. There are many nice restaurants close to the hotel, souvenir shop. We were three and we were given a large room area for four persons, separate bathroom and toilet. Comfortable mattress, soft pillow, a large blanket. The room was clean and it was a hairdryer. Everywhere on the floor is a carpet. Breakfast could be better, but we were satisfied. Staff at the reception is friendly and speaks English and French. Luggage room was absent, but you can leave your luggage at the reception. The hotel is very cute, comfortable and very conveniently located.

Review 71:Built in nightstand is just a small Cube with a small 8 x 6 inch desk top , and is a whole 12 inch away ftom the. Bed on both sides! Normal nightstand should be 4x as big!!

Review 72:Separate toilet space, built in open Closet and built in nice big desk

Review 73:The breakfast was very poor, in quality and variety. The wifi was annoying, it required to login very frequently. The hotel is very requested by groups, so early in the morning there is lots of noise from the other rooms, due to the poor insulation. The toilet cubicle is claustrophobic and weird.

Review 74:The location, at walking distance from Mont Sain Michel and near the free shutle. Free Parking, aside from the 4€ for the access code. The room was spacious, although cluttered with beds. We asked for a double room and it had no less than 3 beds (1 double and 2 single)!

Review 75:We didn't get given the code for the barrier to enter the city so we just buzzed for help and were let through but we were still charged for the code when we left anyway! Wifi slow at first and we were only able to connect one phone but worked fine the next day.

Review 76:Free parking, helpful and friendly staff, towels were amazingly soft and room was the perfect temperature

Review 77:The gate was a problem. We didn't have a pass code to get into the gate.

Review 78:Thanks very much for letting us use the dining facility for the food we brought in!

Review 79:- WIFI access is only one at a time - kids complaint cold during the night but as we are only staying for 1 night; that was ok.

Review 80:Super location - bus stop (bus to and flo St Michel from 0700-2200) is in front of the hotel.

Review 81:Internet/Wi-Fi only allows one device to connect. If limited connectivity is an issue, it would be better to limit data usage rather than device usage since nearly everyone has their own phone and/or tablet these days.

Review 82:Great staff. Excellent location. Good value for the price. Got to see Mont St. Michel daytime and nighttime.

Review 83:The wifi was really poor, has to log in every 5 mins or so. It would be better if there's a hanger for the towel in the washroom. And there should be a safety lock on the door, which it doesn't have. The breakfast was fair, but it was a bit expensive.

Review 84:Extremely warm staffs!! Shuttle bus right in front of the hotel, easy access to Mont Saint Michel and Pontorson SNCF. The washroom was very nice and clean. I love those drawings on the wall inside the hotel!!

Review 85:Cheep and old-style room decoration, small bed and poor bedclothes, carpet was dirty, poor shower gel choice.

Review 86:Stuff politeness and service, hotel location

Review 87:Breakfast was expensive. Buffet style but there was not so many kinds.

Review 88:Shuttle bus to Mont San Michael is operating every 10 minutes. Only 5 minutes ride to there. If walking, it takes about 30 minutes but its really nice walking. The hotel was quiet and clean.

Review 89:The room is clean but a bit old. The town is full of huge mosqitos.

Review 90:Le Mont St. Michel is within walking distance from the hotel, but there is still a free shuttle bus stop outside the hotel. The hotel is also next to a supermarket and a nice restaurant was also across the street.

Review 91:Carpet was old and looked dirty. Needs replacing ASAP. Could do with renovation in the rooms.

Review 92:Location: proximity to shuttle to the Mont and shuttle to Rennes, right beside supermarket and restaurants. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Review 93:- carpet dirty - bed not comfortable - did not get the right code from front desk to enter the gate so had to walk there to get a new one - room was not ready on time

Review 94:location large bedroom

Review 95:difficult to find and you need to phone ahead for a code to get through the gate - would be better if they emailed or texted this as not always easy or possible to ring on mobiles when abroad. room was a bit spartan but ok for a night. access issues for prams and wheelchairs as no lift to upper floors and there are no rooms on the ground floor.

Review 96:very convenient location for a quick pitstop to Mont St Michel - a stone's throw to the shuttle bus and close to local restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. room clean if basic. double bed ok, single bed was less comfortable.

Review 97:For who have car. Should advice them : Entrance code.. As no board no staff at gate and no sign!! Lucky that I went with my French husband so we can come in. Wifi was not good.

Review 98:Location clean and quiet.

Review 99:Althought not exclusive to this Hotel the method in use to access le Mont Saint Michel by car - you have to pay 4 euros for a code every time you enter the zone where this Hotel is located - it feels a bit uneccessary considering you are already paying for the Hotel, visiting the Mont, shopping, etc

Review 100:Very good breakfast. Good location relative to Mont Saint Michel allowing choice between walking to the Mont or taking the free bus. Near supermarket and restaurants. Room big enough and quiet. Good enough bathroom. Clean.

Review 101:Hotel is in a convenient location next to Mont St Michel on the mainland. Shuttle stops right in front of the hotel and its literally less than a 5 minute ride on the shuttle. Room was clean and location was quiet but close to everything. They have their own parking. The hotel is in a gated area. Make sure you call ahead of your arrival to get the code for opening the gate. They told us that the gate opens after 7:30pm but when we got there it was closed.

Review 102:Poor wifi access (very slow).

Review 103:Very comfortable. Easily accessible and everything we needed, from lifts to car parking available. Very good location close to all the restaurants and attractions. Well priced. Free parking. Good low cost accommodation very close to St Michel: my family's second stay here!

Review 104:Nothing to so with the Hotel but everything around the area was closed by 10pm unless you went back to the Mont, such a shame really as there were many people wanting to just sit and talk.

Review 105:Hotel was so close to the Mont and a bonus was that there was a free bus every 10mins to and fro the Mont . absolutely an ideal place to stay.

Review 106:No access code given when booking made so couldn't get through boom gate. My wife had to walk 1/2 km to get code and ring me to gain access Room was tiny No fridge

Review 107:Close to Le St Mont St Michel Renovated bathroom Good car parking Good internet Breakfast was good

Review 108:Check-in at the hotel is a tragedy. To come to the hotel by car one must get access code, for example via mobile phone. But having a phone is not mandatory! Hotel did not inform that it is necessary and how to do it ! In my case it took 1 hour and a half and cost 7 euro (temporary parking and the mobile phone). Crazy !

Review 109:Marvelous location of the hotel !

Review 110:Charged more than posted rate.and when i asked about it..that is the rare i booked..it wasnt a big difference..but just odd tr

Review 111:Very easy access to mount st michel

Review 112:A code is needed to access hotel complex this is obtained by phoning the hotel however this should be made known at time of booking, we were fortunate that there was an official near the barrier who told us what to do, he is not usually there

Review 113:Friendly staff , room was ready when we arrived early (11.30) also restaurant excellent.

Review 114:Everything was perfect. The staff is kind and gentle. They all speak english. The Hotel is brand new, clean and confortable. I liked it very much and I didn't see one negative point.

Review 115:Internet connection need to reconnect every 10 minute.

Review 116:Location

Review 117:No freazer

Review 118:Good location, just opposite of the bus stop and close to many restaurants

Review 119:staff was so helpful and friendly

Review 120:Nice service. Good location.

Review 121:Breakfast too much expensive and not really good

Review 122:Good location, nice staff

Review 123:No coffee bar

Review 124:Very good location far from Mont st. Michel only 5-10 mins by taking free shttle bus in front of hotel

Review 125:location

Review 126:No elevator

Review 127:Location and car park

Review 128:Great value for our money.

Review 129:Perfect in every way!

Review 130:Lots of parking and an excellent location to visit the Mont
