Reviews for Hôtel Henry II Beaune Centre
Review 1:The hotel is very comfortable, with large spacious rooms. It's convenient to walk to the core parts of the city, and also as a hub to wineries and vineyards nearby.
Review 2:No restaurant - but plenty of good ones nearby and the receptionist was happy to make recommendations. Wifi was a bit slow
Review 3:Great location - can walk right into Beaune. Good size room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice - especially the croissants - best ever! Bottled water and tea/ coffee provided.
Review 4:Internet did not work in the room - hotels do not seem to bother about this, but if you need to work -this is v important
Review 5:Location just outside walls but easy walk into Beaune. Garage parking. Elegant room, comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities much appreciated.
Review 6:We had a problem with a light not working in the corridor opposite our room, causing difficulty locating the door lock etc. We mentioned this to the receptionist who said she'd get onto it straight away - but it was never dealt with.
Review 7:Very handy for the historic centre and good car parking facilities.
Review 8:For the weekend the rooms are overpriced, breakfast and private parking are not included. More business than holiday hotel.
Review 9:Very clean and large rooms, no noise and many restaurants on walking distance.
Review 10:Extremely helpful staff and up-grade to a suite when standard room was not available. . Guided to suitable restaurants with reservations made for a particularly popular one
Review 11:Some mold was visible on the edges of the bathtub.
Review 12:The location close to the center, the quietness of the room. The parking garage under the hotel with lift to the reception. Some English was spoken at the reception.
Review 13:The room tea/coffee facilities were not easy to use as there was no plug socket near the table & the hotel parking wasn't available, so we had to park two streets away from the hotel.
Review 14:The hotel was nicely situated & the room was a nice size, especially the bathroom.
Review 15:Shower didn't drain and was worried it would flood into room. Electrical point didn't work so had to dry hair in bathroom. There were no plugs for either of the basins in bathroom. There was a buzzing noise throughout the night disturbing sleep. No tea or milk in room only coffee and herbal tea.
Review 16:Room was huge and very comfortable. Very clean and bed and pillows brilliant.
Review 17:The bed was small, mattress was terrible and we could not sleep. Generally, the hotel needs to be brought up to modern standard. The bathroom was dirty and impossible to get into the high bath to have a shower. Would not recommend for any senior citizens.
Review 18:Easy access to the town
Review 19:A party who had arrived by coach were shouting from one room to another with children running up and down the corridor both late at night and early in the morning.
Review 20:The duvet
Review 21:Breakfast was limited but adequate for an overnight stop.
Review 22:The hotel was easy to find, parking onsite at extra cost although bays were tight. Room for 3 was spacious and very comfortable.
Review 23:Room very small- only just enough room to get between end of bed and writing desk! Find it hard to believe it is a listed building as the description states. Large and impersonal .
Review 24:Easy to find. Reception staff very helpful and efficient on arrival; checkout was less so but only one person to deal with a lot of people. Bed very comfortable and bathroom and room spotlessly clean.
Review 25:Hand shower. Noisy rooms. You can hear the doors slamming in the hallway. Wi-Fi has blackouts.
Review 26:Staff is very kind. Simple but clean rooms. Nice outside terras to have a drink. Good location to visit Beaune.
Review 27:Staff spoke French when they knew we were english. Town is awful. Overpriced restaurants and wine shops. Avoid. Go to Spain or Italy.
Review 28:Secure parking, terrific wifi, clean and comfortable room. Nice outside bar area. Great value wine in the minibar, only 10 euros, cheaper than in town! Also actually an iron And board in room , amazing! Great value if booked ahead. Short walk to town and easy access to motorway
Review 29:Location was great, really close to the old town and lovely restaurants. Laundermat just down the road which was very welcome as we have been travelling a while!
Review 30:Air con in room not working, got really warm even at this time of year.
Review 31:Helpful staff - great recommendation for somewhere to eat - Le Grand Bleu - and booked for us. Easy eLk to town. Nice room but see below.
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Easy access from Motorway Close to Town Centre, Restaurants etc. Secure Parking Excellent Breakfast Friendly & Efficient staff Spacious well appointed room
Review 34:Beds were a bit soft for us, but other than that, nothing to complain about.
Review 35:Newly refurbished hotel (parts) at great location with only 5 minutes walk to city centre. Great parking (10€) and comfortable rooms. Very price worthy. Bar had great wines an exciting selection of spirits. Staf were very helpful and went beyond expectations.
Review 36:Very bad internet connection. We had a superior room and no closet, just a few hangers (just coat hangers, none for pants) on a contraption very high on the wall. Staff couldn' believe there was no closet
Review 37:Location and price
Review 38:Car park Garage too low for my Range Rover and I had to park in the street with a car full of wine. All was well and nothing stolen!
Review 39:Very helpful receptionist and nothing too much trouble for her. Thanks
Review 40:The hotel was in a great central location only a few minutes walk to the old centre. The hotel was very clean and well maintained with underground parking. We booked at the last minute and got a great deal which made it excellent value for money.
Review 41:Bathrooms. Toilet paper dispensed from a machine. Only soap was a squeeze bottle nailed to the bath. Poor shower. Felt like a 1 star room. Also a loud hum in room 401 all night. Keep away from rooms 401 & 402
Review 42:Location Breakfast WiFi worked ok which is rare in France.
Review 43:Plumbing is noisy. Beds are only just double size.
Review 44:Handy position to town centre. Secure parking available. Rooms reasonably sound proofed from the road noise. Beds comfortable.
Review 45:Being told that to ensure I get a double room when booking through booking.com, not only should I book a double room but specifically request it too as a special request.
Review 46:Although I booked a double room some months prior to our stay, I was told there was only a twin room available. When I said this was unacceptable, they gave us a luxury suite instead which was superb.
Review 47:Triple room was at top of building with a sloping ceiling which meant constant ducking to get in to bed for me and to move around the room for the rest of the family. Over 200 euros for one night with no breakfast seemed excessive given the uncomfortable bedroom space
Review 48:Good service, clean rooms, updated furnishings, good bathroom facilities with good quality toiletries, etc. very polite and helpful staff.
Review 49:Breakfast was so so, better to go to a bakery in old town and have breakfast french style.
Review 50:Friendly helpful staff (gave good suggestions on dinning out and wine tasting). We were lucky and were given a Suite (there are only 2 in this hotel). Room was spacious, clean, big wardrobe zone, ironing facilities, tea making facilities, big bathroom with bath and shower-hammam. Nice parking, lots of space. Wifi worked great. Hotel is located max.10 min walk from lively streets of old town with many restaurants.
Review 51:the room is so small, has only a bed, a small table and a closet. The toilet is not even able to put a piece of paper.
Review 52:The location is perfect, just outside the old town, there's a bathtub in the bathroom.
