Reviews for Pietracap
Review 1:Very poor wifi. Complicated to get going (redirects you to a French-only website; I had to get staff to help) and the access lasted only 8 hours so worked in the evening but not the following morning.
Review 2:Average hotel, clean, had a bath which was great! Expensive (but Corsica is expensive), but did fine for my 1-night stay. Very nice view from the balcony. Good silent aircon.
Review 3:little bit out of toen - but will use the next time we are in corisca to relax before exploring the rest of the island
Review 4:lovely friendly staff, beautiful gardens with lots of birds. good breakfast
Review 5:Problem of room access via steep stairs not apparent at time of booking.
Review 6:Magnificent setting, historic garden, beautiful pool, pleasant spacious rooms, enchanting place just a few minutes outside Bastia, easy car access from the ferry port.
Review 7:Only one key available for the room (no electronic lock), good variety for breakfast but no quality, terrible orange juice and Viennese bread and buns. People too rude at checkout, seems to be the manager but not really friendly and helpful, she almost ordered me to go back to the room to bring back the pool towels at the reception. I think that she could sent someone of her staff. No apologies for the problem with the shower, just a "sorry for the trouble" would have been nice.
Review 8:Large Room, amazing pool, location, view, value. Nice evening receptionist on arrival, helped us for booking a restaurant.
Review 9:Would have liked a couple of umbrellas at the pool, specially on the deck. Coffee/tea making facity in the rooms will be very nice.
Review 10:Rooms were nice, breakfast was much more then expected and therefore we had breakfast there every morning. Pool was really nice as well. Quiet place and still close enough to all the action. View superb.
Review 11:The Wifi did not work well in our room.
Review 12:Helpful staff, lovely rooms with balconies, lovely cool and shady pool area. Convenient to bakery, supermarket, newsagent, and little pebbly beaches.
Review 13:Expensive especially considering that breakfast was not included.
Review 14:Comfortable room and gorgeous view from the balcony. The gardens were gorgeous. The lady at the reception was nice.
Review 15:The friendly and helpful staff, our room and balcony with water views, the pool, the gardens. And the hotel is just a short, easy drive to Bastia, the old port and an array of restaurants.
Review 16:Quite difficult to find and location not near beach or good restaurants. I couldn't see any lift so not suitable for anyone who couldn't manage stairs.
Review 17:Very charming and helpful receptionist on arrival. Beautiful garden setting and pool and lovely view from balcony.
Review 18:Hotel felt quite dated inside, not many restaurants within walking distance.
Review 19:gardens, pool, location is great if you have a car, parking easy, loved the balcony.
Review 20:Hotel Pietracap is in a quiet location a short distance outside Bastia and with car parking which made life so easy. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the swimming pool was lovely for a late afternoon dip and relaxation. There was a good breakfast buffet with enough choice for us. All in all, very good.
Review 21:* no way to get to the city centre (Bastia) other than by taxi, so if you're planning to enjoy dinner with a bottle of perfect French wine in a city restaurant every day, be prepared to go by taxi there and back * no cafes, restaurants within walking distance
Review 22:a very nice, clean, comfortable hotel in a quiet location far from the busy and noisy life
Review 23:Decor is a bit 'cold'. Very slick, modern interior. Not much effort done to make it feel homely. Interior very good for business travellers, for us a bit too 'cold' for a vacation. Room a bit small. Okay to stay for one or two nights but too small for extended stay.
Review 24:Only a few minutes drive from the ferry. We only stayed one night before moving on to our next destination the day after, and arrived in the evening with the ferry from Livorno. Good location if you have a car and easy to find. Lovely smile from the receptionist at areival who was very helpful in directing us to a pizza restaurant in the neighbourhood. Room amenities, cleanliness and comfort were fine. Comfy bed and good shower. Nice breakfast buffet for a reasonable price. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. We had a lovely balcony looking out onto the garden below and the sea beyond that.
Review 25:We couldn't get a second room key. There is no elevator. You can't take their beach towels to the beach.
Review 26:We had a beautiful view from our terrace, which had 2 chairs & a table. The pool was very nice, and beach towels were available (a rare thing in Corsica). It's a 10 minute walk to the sea, but going back uphill will take longer. It's a nice place from which to explore the northern tip of Corsica. The wifi was the best in Corsica. We stayed in 3 other places and it barely worked. There is parking right at the hotel.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:Friendly, helpful and polite staff. Excellent facilities in particular a very comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning and great pool area. Beautiful gardens. Superb location, 5 minutes from the ferry port by car. 20 minutes by foot.
Review 29:I would have liked to have been able order a coffee etc at times other than just when the pool bar was open.
Review 30:Stunning gardens Wonderful privacy gorgeous pool area Rooms simple yet elegant Staff helpful and courteous Very relaxing environment Air-conditioning and blackout blinds very efficient.
Review 31:No facilities for a drink or snack around the pool
Review 32:Lovely setting, very nice small hotel with beautiful garden and pool. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 33:Very lovely hotel with a nice view. It was tasteful decorated and well located.
Review 34:Really clean and beautiful seaview
Review 35:Beautiful views and pool
Review 36:breakfast is fine but way too overpriced
Review 37:Very inde hotel wit nice staff
Review 38:The hotel is failities are first class, with water views to top it off.
Review 39:Convenient location, free parking, garden setting, peaceful
Review 40:Wi fi can be better
Review 41:Location and staff
Review 42:balcony Clean
Review 43:Great view from room with balcony.
Review 44:lack of staff around reception no bar or snack facility
Review 45:BALCONY VIEW
Review 46:Very comfortable hotel with lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and swimming pool. Very convenient to get to the early morning ferry.
Review 47:Slightly overpriced for not having breakfast included
Review 48:The swimming pool and gardens were excellent
Review 49:No complains
Review 50:Excelent location, beautiful gardening, the pool in a green ambient, kind and helpful staff
Review 51:Breakfast, room, sea view, tv programs, beds, pillows
Review 52:Bounganvile from courtyard
Review 53:Having to pay extra for continental breakfast, expensive at £11, a lot for a family of 4.
Review 54:Very clean. Lovely garden setting.
Review 55:Rooms are old and not well isolated, we could hear the neighbors. Wifi reception is poor. Hotel is not well situated. Very high price for the quality!
Review 56:Nice pool, friendly staff.
Review 57:You can reach the center only by car plus lack of restaurants near hotel. Besides it's really a perfect choice.
Review 58:Perfect sea view, nice personnel, possibility to check-in after 22:00.
Review 59:It would be helpful to have an adjustable shower fitting to allow a standup shower, and a curtain or partition. However, this is not a deal-breaker, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 60:We had a fantastic room with views of the ocean and pool. Staff were excellent, and very helpful. Breakfast, while not cheap, is good value in a wonderful setting.
Review 61:Breakfast too pricey so we opted to walk to the village each day to pick up fresh croissants, etc. Only a five minute walk into the village. Mini-Fridge was in our room which made it so convenient to enjoy our breakfast on the balcony.
Review 62:Oh my gosh!! There's everything great to say of our stay. Beautiful grounds, serene place to swim at the pool, balcony over-looking the pool and gardens, very clean, etc. etc.
Review 63:No lift. Not within walking distance of any good restaurants - take a taxi into the old port of Bastia - wonderful restaurants and a lovely setting.
Review 64:Very clean comfortable room, excellent swimming pool.
Review 65:Some staff not quite as good as hotel. Firstly they should smile more and be polite. For example a request for ice cubes, elicited a sarcastic response that I should try a petrol station! A polite, explanation that that was not a service they offered would have been fine. Also a taxi request was just not followed through. The lady in the breakfast room was most helpful and kind.
Review 66:Fantastic hotel, great room, good view, lovely swimming pool and really good breakfast.
Review 67:Outrageous price for breakfast - and far from any other cafe orrestaurant. Lack of restaurant and bar (pool bar closed in May).
Review 68:Lovely setting and views
Review 69:good hotel not too far from Bastia. Nice room but do not take too much Luggage as the hotel has a number of levels but no elevator. Good breakfast, nice pool. Wheather could have been better
Review 70:I liked its location; the staff were very competent, pleasant and gave willing assistance with a smile. The breakfast was firt-class. The pool and surrounds were the most welcome and best laid out I have found anywhere. At dawn the sun rose over Elba in a direct line across the length of the pool towards my room. That is unforgettable. The room itself was just right, with a small but perfectly adequate balcony.
Review 71:We had a great room that looked out on the sea. The man at the frontdesk was very helpful recommending a nearby restaurant, and gave us aflashlight to use to walk to it.
Review 72:The staff were variable, some were very helpful, some were surly and unhelpful. The walls were very thin and the noise from other guests was an issue. There were no thick curtains in the room making it difficult for someone as light sensitive as my wife is to sleep! The bar appeared to be closed making it impossible to get a snack or a drink. Decor and fitments a bit tired.
Review 73:Location superb, bed comfortable.
Review 74:Awkward location, hard to find, parking poor and dangerous, breakfast wasrepetitive and extremely overpriced. Bastia was busy, busy, busy androads were narrow and dangerous without any offsetting benefits, restaurants were forgettable except for Lazette at port.
Review 75:Room was difficult to access with heavy luggage- 2 flights of stairs and no elevator. Room itself was lovely, however bathroom needs urgent renovation. No shower and no shower cutain in the tub. No possibility to hang up showerhead, everything was getting wet.... (for the price paid I would have expected a perfect bathroom. Fix it and I wolud consider coming back)
Review 76:late check in possibilities and friendly staff to greet us even after midnight. Nice little blacony and lovely view. Short drive from the port.
Review 77:Sincerely the Repcionist was not friendly, not at all. It was like our stay was for free! We are paying for a service!! The hotel was very nice but you dont feel to go again because of the bad service. The only bad thing of the room was the sound isolation.
Review 78:The view from the room is amazing! It was clean and very nice. It has a lovley balcon.
Review 79:The surplus cost for breakfast - 16 euros for pastries and coffee isvery steep! However, it is a lovely setting to eat in and the staffwere super.
Review 80:We loved the friendly and helpful staff. The location was beautiful, andnot nearly as hard to get around as other travellers have suggested. Wewere able to walk to Bastia within 20 minutes, and from there catchbuses or trains to many of the other major attractions in Corsica.
Review 81:Small detail, our wireless was very weak in the room we were in.
Review 82:The location was perfect, close to the city centre and with a lovely view over the ocean and a beautiful garden.
Review 83:Nice place, wonderful garden with pool, good breakfast, quiet, nice view to the sea. Staying in Bastia it is an ideal location, five minutes drive to Bastia. I would return.
Review 84:Beds are a bit too firm for our liking, and the breakfast is quiteexpensive for what it is.
Review 85:Magnificent view over garden of the Mediterranean Sea towards Elba. The pool area is very nice, and pool towels are free. Staff was honest and helpful, and the Borgonvilla Flowers covering most of the garden façade is a true wonder.
Review 86:Room was quite small. It would be nice to have lunch available so you don't have to leave the pool to go get lunch elsewhere.
Review 87:Pool was great. Could walk to town as well.
Review 88:Excellent breakfast ! Very nice location : we had a wonderfull view ofthe sea from our balcony !! Pleasant garden and pool .Big and cleanrooms with a nice decor.Confortable bed !!!
Review 89:Although officially the hotel is 3 kilometers from Bastia, it'sreally outside of the city and up a steep hill. You have to have acar to get anywhere.
Review 90:The pool was amazing and the grounds were well tended. The view from theroom was gorgeous.
Review 91:This hotel was tucked away in a beautiful location. The staff washelpful and friendly. It was clean and safe. We got a free upgradeduring our stay as well. I think it good value. We had a wonderful timein Corsica.
Review 92:The ambience of the hotel was lovely, they have recently repainted and refurnished the hotel. Understated chic and very comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and moved other bookings so our 2 families had the bottom floor to ourselves. The garden was lovely- we had an easter egg hunt which was the highlight of the kids' trip- it would be even prettier in summer. The kids tried the pool, would be amazing in the summer. The ocean views from the rooms and pool area are lovely, and the road is quiet. Don't choose a hotel closer to the ocean as the ocean road is very busy and dangerous for kids.
Review 93:Clean hotel in a very quiet and peaceful area close to Bastia
Review 94:Nothing really, but you do need a car.
Review 95:Picturesque, peaceful and idyllic setting.
Review 96:room was smoky and I hate smoke
Review 97:Friendly staff, amazing views, good breakfast
Review 98:It was a little bit out of the city.
Review 99:Very friendly and helpful staff. Bethanie was exceptional as a person !
Review 100:Its everything a hotel should not be - crap
Review 101:Not a lot
Review 102:Set along coast road north of Bastia. Needed to use car.
Review 103:Spacious room, lovely sea view. Good facilities.
Review 104:A shower curtain would have been useful.
Review 105:We particularly liked the lovely surroundings and the quietness of the hotel.
Review 106:Overpriced breakfasts. Not very good breakfasts compared with those at another Corsican hotel, which were less expensive.
Review 107:Room and balcony.
Review 108:Comfortable room, nice garden and absolutly marvellus design!
Review 109:The site, the view from the hotel, general layout of rooms and facilities, the decoration, breakfast buffet, staff
Review 110:Very small bathroom
Review 111:Balcony with view
Review 112:Hotel well apponted. Excellent breakfast. Stunning views. Beautiful swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 113:The cachet of teh hotel isunique. It brings you back into the 20s with its jazzy musich even for breakfast. Wonderful place
Review 114:Few eating places close by.
Review 115:Close to Bastia the ferry port. Tucked away off the main road. Excellent facilities with secure car parking.
Review 116:.Bit hard to find.Up a steep hill some way out of town.
Review 117:Nice grounds and pool.Lovely elevated position
Review 118:We didn't stay too much at the hotell so we didn't have the chance to see the pool.
Review 119:Quiet
Review 120:Excellent staff, very lovely stay. It was exactly the place we needed aswe tried to sort out some fun travel problems!
Review 121:Wonderful hotel and staff -- best we have found in Corsica!
