Reviews for Hotel Suisse

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:Between the sea views and great location next to the beach and around the corner from old town, this hotel makes for a perfect stay in Nice. Another plus is that the price was reasonable considering the location and there's a parking area right around the corner.

Review 3:Nothing at all

Review 4:Perfect hotel. Our room had an unblocked view overlooking the beach and we also had lovely views of the sunrise and sunset everyday. We loved the little balcony. My boyfriend and I spent quitea bit of time out there just sipping on wine and enjoying the panoramic view. Room is very clean and comfortable and location is great. I can't wait for my next visit already!

Review 5:The only downside was that the lift was right opposite our bedroom door and therefore a little noisy. The lift itself was very small and claustrophobic but did what it was meant to do. The breakfast was expensive for what it was so we walked into the old town where you could get the same for half the price.

Review 6:The views from the hotel were amazing even when it was pouring with rain. Our room was a little on the small side but everything was very clean and tidy. The balcony was definitely a plus.

Review 7:All is expensive, the mini-bar and breakfast. We went into old town for breakfast. There were two chairs in the room and no sure why they would be there since the view is out the balcony and there was no chair to sit at the desk to use a laptop, only a stool.

Review 8:You stay at this hotel if you want the best view of any hotel in Nice. A view down the bay and promenade. We stayed here only one night, New Year's Eve. If I could afford it, I would always stay at this hotel when in Nice. It is by the old town, main piazza and beautiful park above it. Our room on the second floor was a little small. The bathroom has a bathtub which my wife loved. And of course sitting out on the balcony in the chairs with a little table is great. You can bring back some drinks and snacks and enjoy the great view.

Review 9:The busy road which runs the whole of the seafront at Nice might be a problem in high season

Review 10:The view from the balcony was beautiful and the perfect spot to watch the sunset - the perfect spot to celebrate my 50th birthday. The hotel is excellent value for money and the staff were lovely. Great location for exploring the old town.

Review 11:no parking close, a very narrow and small lift, the breakfast restaurant / room was not open for renovation. room was extremely small for a superior room.

Review 12:the location

Review 13:A sound of flying planes, but it is for all the Nice, so its not the minus of his very hotel, the hotel is splendid, thank you!

Review 14:Splendid view from the room, the room is very nice - small but with everything needed for a stay of a few days, staff very helpful and positive, location - near to the sites. The lift though being very small, is a plus of this hotel. I asked for a present from the hotel due to our anniversary of meeting with my husband and was very pleased to get it upon arrival - shampaigne in the room. The stay in this hotel was very pleasant - no any unconveniences, everything good. Thank you very much for this!!!Hope to come back!Recommend!

Review 15:Location, Location, Location... Helpful and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was on the small side, but our view from our verandah was sensational. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Review 16:I have been enjoying booking.com these years. This is the first time I found that there is a huge discrepancy in the rating. Attitudes of staffs are so bad, not only single individual. I enjoyed the trip from Paris, Nice, Barcelona and Mardrid. Livings were good in which matched with the ratings excepted in Nice. I did not understand why staffs coud teasing on you when you asked simple questions. Rooms were not tidy and services were bad. Really got bad feelings...and it is the first time I suffered through booking hotels via booking.com

Review 17:Breakfast is a little expensive for the value, better off taking a short walk into town to find a small cafe.

Review 18:The staff was very helpful in helping us plan out trip to Nice. The hotel is a short walk into old town Nice and has beautiful views of the sea.

Review 19:Poor web site does not adequately show that a room with a balcony might not be one big enough to sit on. No proper lounge, confusing information as to when bar open.

Review 20:Didn't stay long enough!

Review 21:Excellent location with fantastic sea views. Upgraded on arrival. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful. Very comfortable hotel and room. Would recommend to others.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Great boutique hotel Perfect location The staff couldn't be more helpful We had a minor problem with the room but it was dealt with so professionally that it actually improved our opinion.

Review 24:Charming boutique hotel with delightful English speaking staff. They set up our tour, poured us a welcome drink, and made checkout easy. The views here are spectacular and the location is perfect. Right around the corner from the port, markets, restaurants, and next door to the steps to the Waterfall up on the hill of the old chateau. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the right balance of charm and comfort.

Review 25:It's hard to think what I didn't lol about the hotel as technically I liked everything!

Review 26:Just wow! The hotel location speaks for itself! Make sure to take a sea-view room to enjoy the to the maximum, the staff are super-friendly, there's a LOT to do within a walking distance from this hotel!

Review 27:Hotel sussie was out favorite hotel in our honeymoon. We had a beautiful view from our room, comfy bed, great location right Infront of the beach. Walking distance to the plaza where you can have great food. The best! The staff were very helpful. We were very happy!

Review 28:Parking outside the Hotel to unload luggage is impossible unless you double-park in the (busy) road. The paid parking is some distance away. The Hotel should advise guests with cars that they can double-park at the entrance when they book.

Review 29:The view from the room along the coast was spectacular, especially when we took up the offer to have room service breakfast and enjoy it on the balcony. The hotel is in short walking distance to the old town and many restaurants and not far from the main shopping area in Nice.

Review 30:The elevator was tiny, you had to take your bags up to the room one by one which is quite inconvenient. No bell boy. The room was very small and out dated.

Review 31:The staff were very friendly. The view from the room was beautiful.

Review 32:Beachfront with a magnificent view of the coast line, two minutes walk from as many restaurants and bars as I have ever seen. Staff brilliant when required.

Review 33:We booked a "superior room", however the room we got was definetely not a superior room. It was so small, there was no place to put the luggages! If two person were standing in the room at same time, that was the all space!!. If you go there, make sure beforehand that they give you a proper room. Because when we complained about our situation, nothing happened. The hotel was fully booked... Breakfast was quite simple and therefore overpriced. There is no restroom on the lobby floor. I cannot understand how this happens at a four-star hotel. The parking place is not close to the hotel, appr. 10 minutes walking distance.

Review 34:The location is very good, is directly at the beginning of the Promenade des Anglais, close to beaches and to the city center.

Review 35:My room type was a little cramped with 2 suitcases, but manageable. Did not try breakfast so cannot comment...

Review 36:Fantastic location, walking distance to most places. Beautiful views of beach and ocean.

Review 37:WiFi was very very slow in the room. You don't in the photos the hotel is right on the main street.

Review 38:Nice view of the ocean, very friendly staff, Thick new glass baloney doors make the room quiet when closed

Review 39:Location isn't so great - seemed like a lot of dodgy characters on this side of town Very pricey for what you get in my opinion but that might just be the standard in nice

Review 40:Excellent staff, very helpful

Review 41:Requested early check in but room not ready, and no explanation given, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Same staff 'forgot' to book taxi for the following morning which had to be rectified the next day by a more helpful member of staff.

Review 42:Location within walking distance of the Old Town and beach.

Review 43:The View from the windows spans the whole of the bay which is fantastic, Blue sky, sea, beach, prom. Staff extremely nice, helpful, polite and smile a lot. We have gone back each year for 10 years because it is so good.

Review 44:First of all the hotel doesn't have a parking place. The nearest parking place is a public one and costs 56 €, the parking place which costs 26€ is 1km away!!. There is not a decent place in front of the hotel for temporary parking for bag doprs etc.. so imagine how we struggled with the luggages. The personnel is very careless, even though i told them that it was our anniversary they didn't bother to help us with a restaurant. The rooms are very small nothing close to the pictures. The hotel place is very far away from the attractipns

Review 45:The view.. Our room was with a sea view , which was almost the only positive thing..

Review 46:Great breakfast, great location and views. I had superior room with seaview. Though room was not that big was it big enough for one and the balcony had good space for the sunsets. Absolutely will go again!

Review 47:No really a bad experience but the two person only lift is a little poor for a hotel of this quality!! If there are as in our case two adults and two cases you can barely fit into the lift!!

Review 48:Helpful reception Location

Review 49:Small hotel with little to no facilities out side of your room, but most probably wouldn't have used them anyway as was out and about all the time, so not a problem. Breakfast in room, very expensive for just a few rolls and yogurt.

Review 50:Brilliant location, near the harbour, beach and old town. Very nice view from balcony. Staff were nice and friendly and helpful

Review 51:The breakfast was way too expensive and the lack of tea and coffee making facilities

Review 52:We stayed in a superior room and although on 2nd floor we still had amazing views.

Review 53:Breakfast definitely not worth 18 euros each. Was described as American buffet but was just eggs and sausages plus cold selection. One member of staff only to look after the whole breakfast area so very slow at replenishing supplies.

Review 54:At the end of Promenade des Anglais, next to Old Town. Fantastic sea view from room on top floor.

Review 55:We loved the room and the view was the best in Nice! Customer service was exceptional- especially Marie on the front desk! Nothing too much trouble here and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little something special!

Review 56:The free wifi was dial-up speed. Tram access is so-so.

Review 57:The location was just far enough off the beaten path to be out of the way, but not so far removed to make seeing the city cumbersome.

Review 58:The room was a bit dated and very small. Not the kind of room you expect for a 4* hotel. It was also quite noisy at night as we were on the second floor facing directly the main road.

Review 59:Great position, very central and close to le Vieu Nice. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good too.

Review 60:Temperamental Coffee machine, a kettle would have been sufficient and easier. Smell of smoke from neighbouring balconies meant we were unable to leave windows open at night.More a fault of inconsiderate guests rather than the Hotel itself.

Review 61:Quality of room and cleanliness, good location, friendly staff

Review 62:We had a "superior" room but it was an inferior superior room -- ridiculously small. Do not accept Room 11 as a "superior" room. As regular customers I thought we deserved better.

Review 63:Nearness to old city and view from balcony. Relatively quiet.

Review 64:There was not much to dislike. I will definitely stay in this hotel again. Just one thing, the breakfast is a bit expensive and not value for money.

Review 65:I loved the view and sitting on the balcony in the late afternoons and evenings. My room and bed were very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and made great dinner suggestions.

Review 66:We like the fact that the room was of a very high quality and that it was cleaned to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and professional. We will certainly stay here again.

Review 67:my biggest complaint is that on your web site you state parking is 24 euros a day it cost me 98euros for two days i will therefore not be using your website again.

Review 68:Despite here was some renovation going on my overall experience was close perfect except the experience with taxi for airport on the last day. Due to carnival in town I had to ask the hotel reception to book a taxi for airport. Without informing me in advance, a luxury Mercedes car came to pick me up after nearly half hour waiting. I had to find out at the end of my trip the driver works with hotel with his own car, and it usually costs 30 euro one way to go to airport. The driver asked 35 euro because he had to take the route via city to avoid the crowd of Cardinal, which to me was really unprofessional and uncomfortable. So better find out in advance if you have to do the same.

Review 69:Location, friendly staff

Review 70:Not a real problem but the wifi was a little unstable, requiring us to repeatedly re log on.

Review 71:Gob smacking view from our balcony over the whole "beach" of Nice. Good position between the village and the port of Nice. The accomodation was clean and well appointed. The staff were most pleasant and on our last day when it rained after we had checked out and we went for a walk, they kindly offered us towels to dry off before collecting our luggage .

Review 72:During our stay, we had an issue which could have spoiled our stay at La Suisse but the staff (particularly Marie on reception) went above & beyond to help us. We would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Review 73:We stayed in the winter and our room was so hot at night we had to sleep with the door open.

Review 74:The balcony was great for enjoying a morning cafe looking over the ocean!

Review 75:Nothing to dislike.

Review 76:The view. You really need a room with a balcony . So worth the money as you can sit out and just enjoy looking over the bay of angels with a drink . If there wasnt so much to see and do in nice you could sit there all day ! The location is excellent for the old town and the port.

Review 77:Bathroom floor by tub needs new groute. Walls are fairly thin on adjacent rooms...loud guests from the Far East.

Review 78:Location. Bed. Staff was awesome. Great stay, we will stay again.

Review 79:This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and, like the first time, found the staff extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the view over the Bay is fabulous.

Review 80:The location and Marie at the front desk who gave excellent advise. The hike up the hill to the hilltop park was fabulous. The hotel sits at the base of the hill. Strolling the streets of old town and listening to mass being sung in several old churches. The flower and vegetable market is very close.

Review 81:lift way to small, in summer could prove to be a pain if your on a high floor. No real facilities. i.e. pool , lounge

Review 82:Without a doubt the best view over Nice from the end of the promenade. Room not huge but everything you need. Very helpful staff throughout. Wi-fi included

Review 83:The rooms and elevator are very small.

Review 84:The location is very good with amazing view over the beach, the rooms are clean and the staff is polite and friendly.

Review 85:-reception staff were arguing amongst themselves when we arrived -parking to bring in luggage is not convenient -the elevator only fits a small amount of luggage in it so multiple trips are required

Review 86:-location to old Nice ville and beach was very convenient -view was amazing (5th floor)

Review 87:Sadly as we like to sleep with the windows/French doors open, there is quite a bit of noise of street traffic, particularly on weekends.

Review 88:We loved the superb view from both windows, the staff was particularly helpful find Marie if you need any information. But Bahia and Jennifer are also very obliging.

Review 89:Almost all rooms face the sea...mine was quite small. Unfortunately the hotel is right on the road at the end of the Promenade Anglais...very heavy traffic round to the port. Also has pesestrian crossing , motorbikes and mopeds roar away all night. Room double glazed but made little difference. Public areas very small, cant see how this hotel has 4 star rating

Review 90:Fantastic location, great view, easy wslk to Old Nice or port

Review 91:Charging €3 for extra coffee pod for the coffee machine excessive.

Review 92:Boutique style hotel with lots of charm. Room spacious with a large balcony to sit on and watch the world go by. Walking distance to the old town.

Review 93:Parking - impossible. Elevetor - old. broke during our ride I had to jump out of it (I am 66 years old and it was almost 1.5 meter gap!) The staff said this happens almost every day. The room very very small. Breakfast was very unsatisfactory.

Review 94:When a hotel advertises its own beach, this should be included in the price

Review 95:The ocation, nice room with balcony and new bathroom, delicious breakfast room with tasty breakfast, short walk to the beach, short walk to the old town, within easy reach of most.

Review 96:The front desk personnel are not interested in assisting clients. The rooms on the first floor, especially those near the elevator and stairs are extremely noisy. When the morning shift arrives (5:30 am), you will hear all the comings and goings. Same for any evening activities.

Review 97:It has a touch of Fawlty Towers about it. When we arrived at 9am the staff were brusque and stressed with a queue of people checking out. The lift is miniscule (room for two persons only!) but when those two persons are big like the two guests arriving ahead of us the lift jams. Our checking in process was delayed for ten minutes while a desk manager shouted platitudes to the two unfortunate guests before going into an adjoining cupboard for the tool to rectify the problem. (We took the proportion of travelling in the lift with one person, one suitcase). The cramped reception area is next to the breakfast restaurant which looks like an internet cafe and tucked round the corner is a tiny bar with two tiny sofas and a tiny selection of drinks. The whole area resembles the reception of a beauty parlour decked out with pink doll's house furniture. On leaving the staff had forgotten to book our taxi at the appointed hour so we had to wait 20 minutes for one to arrive.

Review 98:The location near Nice Old Town is fantastic. Our room had a veranda with an exceptional view over the bay and along the Promenade des Anglais - as do the majority of rooms. Not a huge room for the 'superior' description but okay with usual amenities flat screen TV and free wifi.

Review 99:Traffic noise Lift is so small everyone uses stairs which is stone andnoisy Room very small - had to crawl over bed to open window Bar closedbecause barman did not turn up

Review 100:Clean

Review 101:There is no parking provided by the hotel and public parking is quite a distance away. Also access into hotel awkward with many steps. The overall impression on entering is that the hotel is rundown, which it is not however once you're in. Elevator also in need of improvement.

Review 102:Proximity to the old town of Nice. Views of the coast from the room.

Review 103:Hotel Suisse is in the perfect location to enjoy the beautiful French Riviera and Old Town. I booked a Superior Double Room with Sea View and highly recommend it. The air conditioning was excellent and the balcony provided a wonderful area to enjoy the view early in the morning and late in the afternoon before heading out. The room service is exceptional, and we always returned from our travels to a clean room. The staff are always pleasant and eager to help. I highly recommend Hotel Suisse particularly for its close proximity to Old Town, the highlight of Nice. It is less than a five minute walk away from the hotel.

Review 104:Toilet was not clean at all. And the telephone in the room was not working. Same as the key card sometimes. We expected a better hair dryer. And the reception was bad. They didn't provide any information.(particularly the middle age guy with a dead face) A madam with a pony tail hair was great but others were way too bad. Its just not a 4 stars level.

Review 105:Sea view was good even though coconut trees blocked our sight.. The room was bigger than I thought. The luggage staff and cleaner were very kind and we were moved. Perfect location.

Review 106:Definitely the woman from the reception desk! She had airs as she was making you a favor to let you sleep in that hotel. No parking. The elevator can't carry more than two persons so forget about the luggage! The rooms are too small. No possibility to park the car in front of the hotel, you need to carry the luggage from a crowded, far enough public parking.

Review 107:The location. Nice view.

Review 108:Took over 1/2 hour to get a taxi that never came. Staff on front desk always looked so pre occupied with their computers I can only assume they were doing an on- line degree. Pleasant enough though.

Review 109:the Air con v good. Breakfast OK. Views stunning. Clean; tasteful; nice fresh flowers

Review 110:Staff in reception not very friendly

Review 111:Excellent location. Room were very comfortable, clean, no noise from nearby promenade, silent and effective aircondition, great bed.

Review 112:The small slow elevator and breakfast choices.

Review 113:The amazing helpful staff.

Review 114:Price , not so worthy

Review 115:Location, staff

Review 116:The staff was not friendly or helpful at all.

Review 117:Excellent location and very welcoming efficient friendly staff. Room and facilities very good.

Review 118:The breakfast served in your room was very poor value for money.

Review 119:The stunning views.

Review 120:Best location!

Review 121:Some of the staff was more helpful than others. But they all tried.

Review 122:The balcony and the view of the Cote d'Azure and the Promenade Anglaise

Review 123:clean & comfortable, staff very helpful & friendly. great views with a central location all amenities easily accessible

Review 124:Friendly, comfortable hotel in possibly the best location in Nice.

Review 125:Stunning views from balcony apartments

Review 126:We had a nice room with a great view of Nice and the seaside. A great location for exploring Nice.
