Reviews for Hotel Villa de Luarca
Review 1:on main road so parking to check in a bit difficult. doors and lift noise and could hear lots of noise from guest on floor above.(out of owners control)
Review 2:lovely old house with huge doors and full of character. owners let us park bikes in courtyard securely. breakfast very nice, owner cooked fresh eggs on request and lovely fresh orange juice.
Review 3:Noisy between floors
Review 4:Charming decor old world and comfortable. Don't be fooled looks a little run down on the outside but lovely inside A very friendly family run hotel
Review 5:The bull mooed all night long under our window - not exactly something anyone can predict, but it was tough to sleep.
Review 6:Absolutely beautiful decor and friendly proprietor. Peaceful location and perfect for our pilgrim journey.
Review 7:Grumpy owner/manager although his wife was more cheerful. No English spoken and didn't seem to appreciate my wife's Spanish either. Don't be put off by the exterior which looks a bit shabby and the town is a bit down at heel. The hotel interior is what counts and that is very good ad the town looks a whole lot better at night, especially around the port with the houses on the hills lit.
Review 8:Tastefully decorated interior to a high standard, retained many original features and good use of period/antique furniture. Well located in the town. On-street parking available nearby. Enclosed balcony typically Spanish made for a good relaxing place to read with a glass of wine. Wonderful cafe two doors down the road for great value coffee and cake/breakfast.
Review 9:Not the fault of the owner, but since this was an older structure, there was little insulation between the floor or walls.
Review 10:The location was perfect. The small village was easily walkable from the hotel. The room was a good size and clean. We only stayed for one night and left before breakfast, therefore we cannot comment. The owner/manager did not speak Much English, but this was not a problem.
Review 11:All good
Review 12:The room was lovely - We were on the ground floor so it felt like the little courtyard was ours! A good bed & nice breakfast. Lovely stay
Review 13:no breakfast available when we stayed - but found a friendly cafe just around the corner
Review 14:friendly welcome, beautiful historic building, very clean, friendly staff, comfortable room - near local bars and cafe central location, lovely antique furniture but modern bed with orthopaedic mattress - fabulous if you want a historic building in the centre of town with antique furniture but modern comfort
Review 15:Got off to a bad start. no help with bags, unloading on the main street among traffic, parking 250m away. not really a "dog friendly" hotel as requested/indicated. Dogs had to sleep in the car on the public car park. Command of Spanish essential.
Review 16:pleasant room, good breakfast. helpful in sorting out a booking.com booking problem (room booked twice in error!) Charming old building with modern facilities. Luarca is a lovely spot on the Santiago Camino. Good for an overnight stay.
Review 17:The street noise all night long made sleeping hard. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
Review 18:Beautiful hotel within walking distance to everything. Free street parking was easy to find, but arrive mid afternoon.
Review 19:Occasional smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors
Review 20:Very welcoming, having a few words of Spanish helps. Lovely room and very clean, good value for money.
Review 21:The building and staff
Review 22:Parking easy when you know where it is, but problematic for a first time visitor

Review 32:Secure parking for motorbikes in courtyard. Central location. Great breakfast and lovely room with large bathroom
Review 33:Owners and staff could not do enough for you, Breakfast was wonderful, the owners insisted we park our motor bikes in the hotel private court yard.

Review 45:Location
Review 46:Welcome I want 50% up front now. More interested in our money, than us Would not stay again
Review 47:Great location, Friendly staff, good value
Review 48:Public parking on the street. Difficult to park with luggage.
Review 49:Pleasant hotel, google location.
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:Very pleasant owners Free parking nearby Period decoration of room Central location
Review 52:Wifi was poor in the room. But worked well in the common areas - good enough for me.
Review 53:Staff permitted me to keep my motorcycle in the inside yard area. Very nice off season service.
Review 54:Had some difficulty locating the parking, but it was free when we got there!
Review 55:The decor and 'grandeur' of the way the hotel has been upgraded in the style of its century. Fantastic breakfast
Review 56:I wish breakfast started lot earlier than 9am, as there were already 3 of us that had to check out earlier, so we couldn't get breakfast.
Review 57:Beautiful hotel architecturally. It is like stepping into the early 1900s. It has been decorated and furnished to reflect an era but still has mod cons.
Review 58:I have stayed here previously and love it, but this time we got therooms in the first floor (close to the reception desk) and it was noisy, particularly in the morning as guests checked out.
Review 59:The hotel is small and personable, it is an old mansion from the turn ofthe century which has been converted into a charming and comfortablehotel. Every room is different but beautifully decorated. Centrallylocated hotel, nice staff. Wi-fi worked great. And Luarca is a beautifulport town with great food!
Review 60:The smell of cigarette smoke in the room despite asking for a non-smoking room. My husband was investigating the furniture and found a very full ash tray in a cupboard. In fairness we didn't complain as we were about to leave so the people in the hotel didn't have a chance to put things right.
Review 61:Nice room with balcony overlooking the road at the front. Very close to the seafront. Very good bathroom.
Review 62:The hotel occupies a lovely quaint and old-fashioned building in the centre of Luarca by the river, just a short walk to the sea front and 10 mins to the beach. The rooms are large and airy, with antique furniture and paintings. The building is undoubtedly worn, but there is a very welcoming, vintage feel and the breakfast area is homely and clean. There's a small library and salon downstairs, a sun garden and a cosy traditional sun room on the first floor landing with seating for two. Altogether a nice surprise at a very affordable price in charming Luarca, a town which has undoubtedly seen better days but benefits from real natural beauty and well worth a visit. Lovely seaside cake shop on the corner by the hotel entrance serves delicious cakes and is open late.
Review 63:No real drawbacks.
Review 64:Nice location in the center of town, but within a few minutes walk of a very nice beach, and with excellent restaurants nearby. Good WiFi. A friendly, attentive staff, who went out of their way to be helpful, and provided fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast in the historic(!) breakfast parlor that served as a "refugio" from air raids during the Spnaish Civil War. The walls of the hotel are decorated with old cards and newspapers from the last century of Luarca's history and are but funny and fascinating.
Review 65:Very limited English which might be a problem if you do not understand at least basic Spanish. Helpful staff should resolve any problems. No restaurant, but there are plenty of cafés and restaurants not far away.
Review 66:Comfortable room with enclosed balcony.. Good WiFi. Convenient keys and door code for entry after hours. Good location at the heart of the small town. Excellent free parking not far away -- staff shows you where.
Review 67:Nothing.
Review 68:Friendly, helpful staff. Interesting old building.
Review 69:No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms.
Review 70:Perfect spot, great location. Quiet, clean and big room. Very big.
Review 71:Access to garden Centrally located Access to shops and supermarket
Review 72:Hotel had a very friendly feel. Language wasn't easy (our fault) but staff remained friendly and helpful. Location was terrific.
Review 73:No on site parking but free parking not too far away
Review 74:Lovely room with enclosed balcony Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Review 75:Very small
Review 76:Patio sun room
Review 77:A real gem!
Review 78:Abit of a problem finding parking space
