Reviews for Vauban Hôtel Restaurant
Review 1:Bahroom and toilet door didn't close.
Review 2:Room good size for 3 Modern bathroom with bath Close to everything in Town Breakfast was very good. On site parking View of mountains with snow
Review 3:No airconditioning. Luckily it wasn't too hot in June, but I still kept the window open to get some sort of a breeze. Also, the room and bathroom were old and not well maintained. The built in hair drying was not powerful enough and was difficult to use as it would become too hot in my hand. The bathroom had rust and erosion around the drains. The pipe under the sink was leaking. The sink was also missing the stopper. The decor of the room was absent. Nothing made it special. It was a basic room. The decor of the hotel was also bad - you could see where the carpet was torn or being replace (or should have been replaced) and there were carpet scraps left out in the open. When they cleaned the room, they didn't clean the sink, and it was obvious! The staff were okay, but I had some trouble trying to get one of the staff assist in making dinner reservations. Also, another staff gave me wrong information about what I was looking for in the old city - I wanted to go to the Fort du Chateau, and he said it was a 2 hour walk up a hill! The Fort is actually in the center of the city and only open during certain times, but it is NOT a 2 hour walk. I think he was confused with another fortress which is up on the side of a cliff and you have to hike to get there. Would be a beautiful hike. Bring water. Wifi weak and slow. They had the router sitting in the corridor of the rooms. Tacky. They should have multiple routers so the signal is strong throughout the hotel. Breakfast. I expected more from a french alpine hotel! They offered cold breakfast only and the selection of what they did offer was disappointing. They could really make a difference by offering more and better quality options, as well as hot dishes.
Review 4:The location was good - we could walk everywhere, including up the hill to the old historic center (about 15 min walk).
Review 5:I dont like the fresheners or cleaning products used as they give me irritability in sinuses. Cleaning products should be natural and non irritant. air fresheners also should be natural. For example: water with a few drops of pure lavender oil.
Review 6:location. outdoor shutters keep room quiet
Review 7:Renovations in progress. Smell in rooms not good. Plaster in passage being repaired - towels on floor outside room to catch dropping plaster. Off season repairs well in progress in most areas of the hotel.
Review 8:The hotel is old and dirty. They said they just started the business and will do renovations now. This is urgent! Room was OK but bathroom, corridors, and the rest ... We did not take breakfast, but what we saw did not look like being worth 9.50€.
Review 9:Location in center of briancon Parking available
Review 10:I stayed at the hotel in 2011 and it has gone downhill since then. The hotel is now nothing like as grand inside as it appears from the outside (and its photos!) and it is almost as if the decision has been made to provide a basic "bed and breakfast" service only, at least for the time being. Reception desk and bar all now crammed into restaurant. Only a set menu in evening. I like the hotel and in view of its position and design it would be nice to see it restored to its former glory.
Review 11:This is a nicely constructed hotel, with welcoming staff and with an excellent position in the lower town, very close to the station. Comfortable.
Review 12:Wifi supposed to work all over the hotel, allso at the rooms. It did notwork at any place at the hotel, not at all. The reception just said, sorryyy, but so it is.
Review 13:The only good thing was, there was a garage for motorcycle
Review 14:traffic noise in the morning, missing carpet on the stairs, no tea making facility in the room, no tissues

Review 25:The restaurant closed a saturday night at 9pm.The breakfast was too expensive 9.5€ for a normal food. The bathroom didnt had a courtain. It looks very old in general.
