Reviews for La Casona de Revolgo

Review 1:Quiet location, just a short walk to the historical town centre. Good breakfast with plenty of home made cakes, freshly baked bread and freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Large room with a super king size bed and sofa. Excellent value for money in a picturesque part of Spain.

Review 2:Liked everything but perhaps a little more lighting in the room would be helpful.

Review 3:Location and setting, within meters of the old town. Friendly staff. Attractive comfortable room.

Review 4:Parking is a long way from hotel. It is also quite expensive.

Review 5:The staff/ owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very central and convenient for the city.

Review 6:No longer has restaurant other than for breakfast. Plumbing rather noisy.

Review 7:Great location few minutes walk from centre of historic Santillana del mar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely large room with Jacuzzi bath, separate shower cubicle and double hand basins.

Review 8:Nothing to dislike.

Review 9:Great stay, with helpful and friendly staff. I asked for fried eggs for breakfast and got them no trouble. Enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

Review 10:Friendly and very helpful staff in a good location with easy walking distance into town. Stayed here for two nights before getting Santander ferry. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Wish we had stayed longer in this lovely area.

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:The room was large and comfortable with a very clean and spacious bathroom. Excellent wifi and parking was available outside. It has a lift which is not usual in older style small hotels, but which is great for those with heavy luggage.

Review 13:Walls a little thin we could hear next doors toilet being used during the night. The restaurant was closed for 2 nights would not normally have minded as there were lots nearby but it was pouring with rain so would have prefered not to go out

Review 14:Well situated clean Hotel with plenty of free public parking around the Hotel. Very nice bathroom with hydro-massage bath, friendly staff. Good breakfast we were offered fresh orange juice,

Review 15:room slightly dark and a bit noisy...the structure inside is made of wood and it tends to be a bit noisy (but there again nothing to do with the unbearable noise in Posada de Langre)....

Review 16:between this place which overall is very nice and the posada de langre where we stayed the day after and which turned out to be a right disaster (for the same price) . la casona de revolgo is well situated, the bedroom was very comfortable, spacious, fitted with air conditioning...pleasant staff, excellent breakfast and very good value for money (again the difference between Posada de langre and this place is astounding)...

Review 17:Small, beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff. We stayed in a triple room that was spacy and beautiful. Rustic and pretty. Very different from your average chain hotel. We had also made an error with our booking and the staff corrected it without asking. A great place!

Review 18:The cheap buffet breakfast provided what can be expected for 7.5 euros

Review 19:Very friendly atmosphere. Charming rooms at least on top floor, thoughvery warm in summer (air conditioning available)

Review 20:Everybody thing and everybody there.

Review 32:Quality accomodation. Character building. Value for money. Nice atmosphere.

Review 33:Very weak wifi signal in room

Review 34:Personal service, proximity to old town of Santiliana, nice hotel

Review 35:Not easy to find unless you have good map or satnav. Not walking distance of main attractions.

Review 36:Ample, secure, free parking on outskirts of city, in a small friendly hotel.

Review 37:Our favourite hotel of our 2 week tour. Fantastic welcome. Wonderful dinner and breakfast. Easy parking. Quiet but easy to walk through this beautiful little town.

Review 38:We had a top room under roof only with sky lights that opened insufficient to provide ventilation or reduce temperature at night.

Review 39:Walking distance to the town with many restaurants. Also caverns close by.

Review 40:Room a tad noisy due to young child upstairs waking At 3 am and the rest of the family getting up to quiets her!!

Review 41:Good location pleasant staff good evening meal

Review 42:Nothing - would highly recommend.

Review 43:Beautiful old house in a lovely location by the park.No passing traffic so very quiet. There is plenty of space at the front to park. The rooms and bathrooms spotless. Nice fresh breakfast. The lady on reception speaks perfect English and was very helpful. Dinner at the hotel was delicious and excellent value for money.

Review 44:Breakfast could be better for a 4 star hotel. 3 steps at the entrance to the hotel (for those who have disabilities). By the way, the historic streets are also difficult for wheelchairs - have large stones and have some difficult slopes.

Review 45:A few steps from the historic part of Santillana del Mar. Nice and cozy. Friendly staff.

Review 46:There was nothing we didn't like

Review 47:La Casona de Revolgo is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. Although the hotel is not in the centre of the town it is only a 3 minute walk from the cobbled streets where you will find lots of craft shops and restaurants. The benefit of its location is the parking because you are generally able to park outside the hotel or across the park in a large public carpark, whereas, there is NO parking in the centre. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable which included an en-suite with a spa bath and his & hers wash basins. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel, both of which were very good and good value for money. If you like Asturian/Cantabrian cider you must ask to try the owners own cider, we did and came home with a crate of 12 bottles, it was lovely. The receptionist/manager is a lovely lady whose English is perfect. She was friendly, helpful and welcoming as was the owner and all the staff. We would highly recommend a stay here especially if you want a stop off before a ferry crossing from Santander as the hotel is only 30 mins from the Ferry Port and its simple.

Review 48:Our room was on the top floor under the eaves with just one window making it quite dark.

Review 49:Very nice hotel in a good location. Friendly / attentive staff.

Review 50:My only (v small) quibble - would have liked to have been offered more tea/ coffee at breakfast.

Review 51:Lovely big well decorated bedrooms - the biggest bed I've ever slept in! Good size bathroom with shower & hydromassge bath. Nice postion overlooking park with terrace at front & about 3 mins walk away from medieval centre & good restaurants. Breakfasts very good. Staff friendly at all times of day. Parking ok at road in front of hotel or nearby carpark.

Review 52:Restaurant recommended in town Huerta del Indio ? I think that was thename was located in an open covered area and considering the bad weathernot a good recommendation.

Review 53:Although a bad storm came into the area, we felt we were able to justkick back and relax in this charming hotel and town. Staff was helpfulwith some computer issues we needed assistance with. Breakfast wasgood and they were willing to prepare my husband eggs freshly made athis request.
