Reviews for Hôtel Hélios

Review 1:Perfect location, nice modern hotel. Not really a 4star but more like a v nice premier inn. Helios beach charges 20euros per sunlounger and you are not permitted to lie on sand. This is a standard rule for the whole beach.

Review 2:Our only disappointment were the pillows. We found them to be too large and bulky.

Review 3:We arrived at Hotel Helios early expecting to have to wait until 2:00 to check in but the very friendly woman working that morning told us our rooms were ready and we had been upgraded at no extra cost. How fantastic is that! Our air conditioned room was very clean and spacious with a king size bed. We had a large patio with a lounge chair and patio set. There was a fridge which was extremely nice to have. The hotel staff were pleasant, helpful, and spoke excellent English. The beach is an easy three minute walk from the hotel and the hotel is about a ten minute walk from the Juan des Pins Train Station. There are numerous cafe's, bakeries, shops, and a super market also within an easy walking distance. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Helios. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 4:Housekeeping seemed to do a half job of the room. Tea/coffee not restocked and mugs/glasses left dirty also.

Review 5:Fantastic location once we found it via many one way narrow streets. Most staff very helpful. Anthony helped with our Sat Nav that we couldn't work and we got to the next destination safely! Thanks

Review 6:Check in was odd, the women who helped us were very awkward and seemed they didn't know what they were doing. They were nice but not very professional. Other days there were other people who were more helpful. We thought they should also just add in an extra cost to the room fee and include breakfast for all. Yes there are some boulangerie and patisserie nearby, but sometimes you need a better breakfast and frankly we did not find a lot of places that offered a nice, sit down breakfast in town, so a continental breakfast would have been welcome, but not for an extra €18 each a day. Underground parking was a tight fit for a larger car/van/small SUV.

Review 7:The location is perfect, super close to shops, restaurants and beach. The room was great, very clean and best of all very cold (the aircon was amazing after days out in the horrible heat). Bathroom was perfect but they should provide conditioner with the shampoo. Make sure you contact the hotel after booking if you want to reserve spots at Helios Beach, especially in August, as it was a battle to get a decent place. The beach itself was great, clean, softs and and clear warm water. I would stay here again!

Review 8:Not much. The roof terrace had quite a lot of bird mess on it and the mini bar fridge could have been a bit bigger so we could fit our own food and wine in it.

Review 9:The manager Anne went out of her way to get us tickets for the opening night of the jazz festival, despite it being fully booked. We were extremely grateful. The staff overall were very friendly and welcoming. Their private beach is also wonderful and the hotel's location is perfect.

Review 10:Very old looking in need of a major renovation. The so called private beach was not private at all and was open to anyone. Even as hotel guests you had to pay for the beach at the same cost as anyone else.

Review 11:The room was a good size and had a good balcony.

Review 12:Breakfast is to expensive.

Review 13:When we came we were given a small room with the view at the street, evnthough we have requested a quiet room at the time of the booking. The staff was very friendly and they did offer us another room (biger & cleaner) that did not have a balcony but we did not hear any noise from the street at all.

Review 14:Breakfast for 18€ p/p way too much. At Cafe /bakery you can get two coffees two crossiants and two brioche for less than 7€.

Review 15:We had delux room on 6th floor. Large. More than ample closet space. Bathroom with toilet, bidet combination shower bath tub. Air conditioning. Large balcony over looking Mediterranean Sea. Heloise has Beach Bar and restaurant. Location very close to Beach. Tourist train. Market. Cafe. Post Office. Train Station. All very good.

Review 16:The hotel is so old. The lifts take forever even though there are 2 of them. The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbour talking on the phone (not shouting, as the neighbour was my friend and we discussed this) The electric socket came out of the walls in my room with exposed wiring. The bathroom was not nice at all. The shower was difficult to use and at an awkward angle so that even a short person like myself (5'3") had to stand twisted to wash. I would definitely not call this a 4 star hotel. I have been to 2 star hotels in other parts of the world which are similar.

Review 17:Location was very good, right at the heart of Juan Les Pins

Review 18:Spent some really bad nights here. the walls are like paper! heard every word and movement. Drunk party people came home in the early hours (3am) and the staff wasn't to concerned. ("Its not my problem!")

Review 19:location was ok, close to center and beach and station. Beach was good. But you have to pay 20 Euro for beds! Not free!

Review 20:Breakfast could have been a little more substantial. Not bad, but ok.

Review 21:We booked the suite over the Monaco F1. Excellent staff. Awesome views and fantastic restaurants close by.

Review 22:Breakfast a little pricey and no milk to go with the tea and coffee provided in the room.

Review 23:Location to the beach front and the essential train station if you want to get around. Wonderful friendly polite staff. Décor. Close to restaurants.

Review 24:The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to beach, walking distance to the vibey bars and restaurants yet distanced enough to not get all the noise. The room was spacious, clean and well kept. We were given a sea view even though we didnt pay for it. Helpful and friendly staff.

Review 25:Because we were on the second floor facing the road, there was a lot of noise from motorcycles so we didn't want to open our balcony. I wanted to ask for a different room but my partner didn't want to change rooms. We had two double beds pushed together instead of a king.

Review 26:Hotel Helios is very conveniently located near the train station and the beach. Had most of what you'd expect from a nice hotel in bathroom facilities. Loved the hotel's beach facilities and enjoyed one day taking advantage of the beach access that included a umbrella, beach chair, bar, restaurant, beach chair service. Very nice view of the Juan Les Pins beach and mega yachts. We liked Juan Les Pins better than Antibes for a location to stay, the beach is more calm, less windy.

Review 27:Location was great, staff were very helpful letting us keep our car in the garage until later in the day of check out. Pleasant room with huge bed, a really comfortable nights sleep.

Review 28:The bathrooms are not to our taste and could do with updating!

Review 29:The location of the hotel is perfect, close to beaches, restaurants, bars and boutiques! We have been there five or six times and will go again.the staff are all extremely polite and helpful!

Review 30:The wifii didn't work. There were no slippers in the room. And cutlery for the tea and coffee making was plastic and unusable more than once.

Review 31:Big clean rooms well maintained. Hotel situated in a great location minutes from the beach and train station and town center. Easy access to cap d'antibes and anywhere else along the coast

Review 32:Space on beach not only reserved for guests, so pre-booking recommended

Review 33:Room size was good Location ideal Own area of beach well located Most of the staff very helpfuk

Review 34:Tiny driveway, when we arrived there was just one car parked outside hotel, which made it impossible to stop by with the car to unload bags. No wifi in the room. This is not 4 star hotel, 3 at most. Feels dated. Not a relaxing stay

Review 35:Staff was very helpful, location was excellent, right in the center, short walk to everything, housekeeping was good and regular

Review 36:The finish in the suite some places were poor, but only esteathic.

Review 37:Got one of the two suites (had bookes a deluxe- room) and got a fantastic view and great facilities in the suite. Great and HUGE terrasse with great furniture!

Review 38:- Breakfast room (dark and only few windows) - Breakfast quality ok, but could be improved (4 *) - Lack of external space - Limited parking options - Lifts inadequate for the hotel "traffic"

Review 39:- Friendly and kind staff - Children (also young) welcome - Proximity to beaches - A view from the balcony (6th floor) - Nice bathroom and very good shower

Review 40:The bar had a limited range and service was mediocre.

Review 41:The bedroom and bathroom were excellent, space and comfort. The two lifts were small but acceptable.

Review 42:Parking

Review 43:The room was a little small.

Review 44:The big bed was à big plus of the room. And the bathroom was clean.

Review 45:WIFI constantly disconnected. not all staff were helpful/friendly.

Review 46:location, room facilities

Review 47:Underground parking

Review 48:Location is great, and the staff is friendly also the hotel is clean and yhe room had a nice sea view

Review 49:The staff at Helios Plage were not as friendly / helpful as those at the hotel - which was disappointing. WiFi connection was intermittent.

Review 50:The area was a bit iffy Interesting locals bar opposite?! Difficult underground car park

Review 51:Closeness to beach Clean room with every facility included

Review 52:Location was outstanding!

Review 53:Wifi is very slow and intermittent. Rooms can be noisy.

Review 54:Rooms are spacious for France.

Review 55:Nice hotel not too far from beach. Highly recommend

Review 56:Everything about the hotel

Review 57:Only offered breakfast, no facilities for providing food for baby, not very child friendly

Review 58:Location, ease of booking, cleanliness

Review 59:Fantastic location. Beautiful beach area and restaurant by the sea. Great service

Review 60:Breakfast wasn't very nice.

Review 61:Near to the beach, restaurants, shops, good to walk around,…..nice space, and nice bed.

Review 62:Can't say anything that I didn't like!!

Review 63:Staff superb very helpful in the hotel and also knowledge of local amenities

Review 64:Air conditioning was not up to scratch which made the room hot and stuffy. the shower over the bath not up to scratch

Review 65:Position, own beach & restaurant on the beach. great customer service & that they allowed us to stay past check out time on our day of departure. Very helpful and obliging.

Review 66:The hotel maid/cleaner wasn't good, didnt clean or tidy properly. The bathroom tiles are old fashioned, and the toilet room and no sink to wash hands so after use you have to walk to the shower room to wash hands.

Review 67:The hotel location in juan le pin, helpful and friendly staff. The beach was small yet lovely.

Review 68:TV is really small and hang up very high on the wall behind the door. every time I enter the room I have to open the door to be able to see the TV.

Review 69:wifi speed is ok Parking in streets in front of the hotel is free. but parking in hotel is 14 euro per day. Quiet room.

Review 70:Don't think we have ever stayed anywhere with such helpful staff: charming and outstanding customer service. The bed was luxuriously large (superking size) and very comfortable; and the bathroom immaculately clean and with powerful shower.

Review 71:wish they would have told us at check-in or at the beach club that we needed to reserve for the next day. we could not get chairs at helios. got chairs at another club though.

Review 72:location was amazing. loved that they were associated with a beach club.

Review 73:Staff at reception. Prices for extras such as sunbeds, breakfast or even tea.

Review 74:The room and bathroom were good size and well decorated. The beach was beautiful and the staff there very helpful and friendly.

Review 75:Four star ?? I would definatley not class this hotel as a four star hotel. Thought he French rating of a hotel is to blame on this. Pricing for a four star hotel when it is clearly not to a four star standard.

Review 76:It was clean. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 77:The pics look far better than the actual rooms, though there was nothing lacking as such it had more of a cold apartment vibe than that of a cozy hotel room.

Review 78:The location is surely the best part. Just a 100 mts away from the beach and the pubs and restaurants. The shopping street is also just round the bend. Antibes which is a must see is also just 20 mins away.

Review 79:The breakfast for 18€ left something to be desired. They could have better coffee and more fresh fruit. The selection for the price was too sparse.

Review 80:The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times.

Review 81:The staff were amazing-I arrived early in the day & my room was ready so I was allowed to check in earlier than 2pm. Very helpful friendly staff & an amazing location, close to beach, train & shops!

Review 82:Not sure when it was rated 4 star, it was dated and quite dirty to my standards, especially for the price. This should not put off people though as it is my personal opinion!

Review 83:Friendly staff, close location to beach

Review 84:Only one complaint. The duvet was unbearably hot and very heavy for summer nights.

Review 85:We have stayed at the Helios on a previous occasion , and were pleased that it was still as good. The breakfasts are superb. Wonderful fresh fruit and bread. A great joy joy each morning.

Review 86:Noise during the night from revelers and street cleaning and traffic-underground car park-foam -should on pillars to reduce damage to cars

Review 87:Central location ,Sea view, general good standard, good staff

Review 88:Great location just two blocks from beach with direct sea views from some of the upper rooms, beach restaurant with chairs (20 euros daily), underground parking (medium sized cars best) unreserved but necessary, shops, boulangeries, patisseries and restaurants just outside the door and the Pinade park three blocks away. Excellent staff and service.

Review 89:If you want to be picky, of course everyone can be unhappy of something, but I think the holiday at Helios Hotel was one of my best holiday ever!

Review 90:Me and my husband have been to Juan les pins before, but not stayed atHelios. We think the hotel staff was very professional and nice to theguests! We had booked superior room and it was a very good room, nocarpet on the floor, good air-condition , every day clean room and verygood beds. We had breakfast every day,as we found simple and good. Thelocation was amazing! 100 meter to the restaurants, 100 m to the beach.20 euro for a sun bed was nothing to complain about! Then you had a verycomfortable stay, and very service minded beach personnel. I canrecommend the hotel and place! 4 star hotel ? Yes , the total package !

Review 91:There is no changing room facility. The staff refused to give us aroom to change to go to the beach as our room wasn't ready when wearrived. We had to change in the toilets. We had to do that againbefore heading back to the airport in the evening. Other than that, the location is great

Review 92:Location location location location

Review 93:My Wife and I have just returned from a 6 week overseas trip and wecould not have chosen a better place (for the money) to stay atbeautiful Juan les Pins on the French Riviera.

Review 94:Staff (at reception) is often irritated, and also they're not able to make a bill (the had to re-calculate 3 times, asking always more ande more money)

Review 95:Position is good, also the possibility to have access to private beach with discounted prices.

Review 96:The airconditioning probably needs a bit more of regular servicing as itwas not cool enough.

Review 97:Very friendly staff & lovely hotel that offers comfort and centralisedconvernience as the hotel is in the centre of Juan Les Pins. Thebreakfast @ the hotel is simple, tasty and good value for money. The 15min car drive to Cannes for conference attendees is a short & pleasantcostal route that offers a scenic view of the Riviera. Stayed on the 7thfloor with sea-view. The view was superb.

Review 98:Rooms were dated. Room was right by the lift and noisy. Separate toilet on it's own with no sink.

Review 99:Location

Review 114:Situated central. Very good breakfast.

Review 115:No grounds of its own

Review 116:Central location, cleanliness and Staff

Review 117:Location for beach, train station and bus.

Review 118:central location to Beach,restaurants & shops

Review 119:Close to beach and train station.

Review 120:the hotel looks much better on the fotos than it actually is, the location around the hotel is unattractive, overpriced, unfriendly staff

Review 121:The room needs refreshment. Nevertheless, it was clean and comfortable.

Review 122:Nothing.

Review 123:Everything. My second stay and will return again. Great breakfast, fresh and plentiful.
