Reviews for Hotel Du Tertre
Review 1:We were shown to a room at top of hotel, (no lift, and I use a walking stick.).Told that there was no toilet in the room but we had exclusive use of toilet at the end of the hallway. When we refused this room we were shown a room on the 1st floor with a toilet but at an additional cost. We appeared to be the only guests that night.
Review 2:Very small room, the walls of the rooms were made of very thin material, so we were able to hear absolutely everything (water droping in shower in next room behind my bed), very disturbing, impossible to sleep well. It was prohibited to eat in room... Where are we? In the jail?
Review 3:Nice location,in old house in the centre of village, near church
Review 4:The address on the booking confirmation was incorrect, the hotel is in Mont Dol, not Dol-en-Bretagne.
Review 5:Comfortable & friendly with a lovely little restaurant next door.
Review 6:We arrived about an hour early but could not book in until 2.30pm as stated in the booking.
Review 7:Ideal stop when visiting Mon San Michael. Rooms are comfortable and very clean.
Review 8:Great central location in a wonderful village. Breakfast was very good and lots of selection. Christianne is a charming hostess. We would stay here again.
Review 9:We got the last available room, No 8, and there was no toilet - there was one outside exclusively for us, but it was at the end of a long corridor! The room was so small that I had no bedside table and my husband was in danger of treading on my clock, glasses etc, on the floor beside the bed, as he went to shower. Also, guests from a wedding turned up at 4,30 am outside the hotel and talked and smoked loudly before tramping up to their rooms on our floor (where admittedly they were then very quiet.) i think if we had booked a few months ahead and got a larger room, it would have been a lovely stay. The visitors' book was full of rave reviews and all other rooms have toilets.
Review 10:Lovely location, superb and enormous breakfast, very pleasant landlady, clean and tidy room and shower; wonderful views and lots to do and see in the neighbourhood.
Review 11:The shower room in bedroom 7 was almost impossible to use it was so small. The bedroom was sparsely furnished, the double bed was small and uncomfortable. There were no tea or coffee making facilities or bottled water which would be expected for the price. The breakfast was adequate, but for 8€ per person was poor value. The restaurant next door was very noisy until late.
Review 12:The hotel was located in a pretty village.
Review 13:Eating in Mont Dol is limited, but we found the restaurant next door was OK for what we needed.
Review 14:Wanted a hotel within easy reach of St Malo ferry. Have used St Malo, Cancale and Dinard in the past but wanted something that had easy parking. Restaurant next door which was OK for the one night we stayed, but then Dol isn't that far away. Would definitely consider it next time. Local boulangerie across the road great for getting breakfast.
Review 15:Christian couldn't have been more helpful. Very French just what we wanted, most return.
Review 16:nice room nice views and nice location
Review 17:quietly situated for a relaxing few days.
Review 18:Just the whole village ambience of relaxation and comforting views across fields of corn. Silence at night to peacefuly sleep.
Review 19:Location, views, good restaurant next door.
Review 20:All of it !
Review 21:Adjacent restaurant very handy and proprietress pleasant and welcoming but food over spiced.
Review 22:Easy distance from ferry port and for exploring local attractions. Old windmill on Mont Dol and look out, well worth the walk up.
Review 23:Small, out of the way village. Great panoramic views of surrounding country and bay from top of mount just outside hotel. Nice creperie on top of mount for dinner.
Review 24:The Bathroom was so small a had to sit down for a wee and shower was so small the shower curtain was rubbing me all the time .
Review 25:The countryside and lovely bike rides
Review 26:Bugs in room. Unfriendly owner. Very rough personality. Unfamiliar with courtesy. Asked me to tell a local restaurant that she referred me, but she gave me a "foolish" french name to tell the restaurant owner since she didn't realize I spoke french.
Review 27:The shower room of room no.7 is Terrible! Don't take that room! Hotel described as being in Dol du Bretagne but is at least 3km out of town.
Review 28:Checking out! We were asked to pay for breakfast that we did not have.
Review 29:Welcoming, friendly, happy to help. Lovely position in the village and beautiful views over the countryside from the bedroom window. Very good fresh breakfast served including fresh farm yogurt and fruit and plenty of it .
Review 30:Quiet pretty village , charming hosts who cant do enough for you. Lovely breakfasts with local produce. Next to the church, which means bells, but they didnt start until 8am, and I loved them.
Review 31:There is no elevator and we had to go up 2 flights of stairs to our room which was cute but didn't have any air conditioning and considering it was basically in the attic - it got very hot.
Review 32:It was a very charming inn and there is a good restaurant next door that stayed open late for us since we arrived at 9pm. The bathroom was also very nice.
Review 33:We walked into Dol de Bretagne, down a very quiet lane, which took about30 minutes. However, it would be helpful if it stated in the particularsof the hotel that either a car, or other personal transport, is advisedto enable easier access to other places in the area.
Review 34:The hoteliers are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. There is a convenient restaurant next door, where we ate on our firstand last evenings.
Review 35:The rooms are on the small side. There is only one restaurant in the village. We thought the cost was a little on the high side for a two star hotel, especially the tour price.
Review 36:We were made welcome and the owner was happy for us to leave the bikes in the hotel at night.
Review 37:no hot drink making facility in room.Once the bar closed at 7.00pm there was no opportunity to have a drink
Review 38:view from bedroom window and comfort of room.Very good shower
Review 39:Nothing of note
Review 40:Nice quiet friendly hotel/bar.used as an overnight stay via a Disney trip.Comfortable room with an excellent power shower system not found in many places abroad.Good quality breakfast.Overall would recommend
Review 41:the restaurant next door (nothing to do with the hotel) is too expensive for what it is. Cheaper and cosier restaurants in Dol de Bretagne (5min)
Review 42:the tranquility and the relaxed atmosphere. The lady of house is very friendly and helpfull. My son loved the breakfast: crispy baguette, the best pains au chocolat and croissants! It's located in a small, friendly village and yet only 5 to 10min from the sea
Review 43:The entire village shuts down at 9, not a fault of the hotel, just something to note.
Review 44:Located in Mont Dol, a beautiful, picturesque wee village about 3k from Dol de Bretagne. Lovely room with a great view towards Dol de Bretagne and beyonds. Lovely breakfast. The owner looked after our bikes too which was great. From here we cycled the 30k to Mount Saint Michel, which is nearly flat in its entirety. Very pleasant stay.
Review 45:The staff - its always the staff. They both made a great effort to bewelcoming and friendly, as well their efforts to offer a clean room wasalso evidentTheir help with recovering the bits of luggage we left behind were also heroic
Review 46:Fabulous in every respect! The cleanest hotel we have ever been in anywhere! Very friendly owners and staff. Convenient village location with many places to walk to. Very nice breakfast. Parking to front. We took our well behaved dog with us and the owners even made the dog feel very welcome. Very good value. Owners speak a little English. This hotel is not a luxury place, so, if that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. If you want to stay near Dol De Bretagne, go to Hotel Du Tertre. To sum up; quaint, chic, clean, friendly, etc.
Review 47:I had requested easy access for my husband who can only walk very short distances with crutches- the room was on the first floor with no lift. The stairs were a struggle for him. Please respond to special requests so we can change bookings in time.
Review 48:Friendly helpful and charming staff. A beautiful room overlooking a lovely view of the countryside.A special stay- we loved it.
Review 49:If you more than 1,7 m height - chose 1st floor. 2nd is not comfortable bathroom because of the mansard.
Review 50:The hotel is nice and have clean rooms. Personnel was friendly. Lacation is very nice for B&B. Beautiful landscape view is opening from the hotel because it located at the hill.
Review 51:The room was a little small and there are lots of stairs and corridors (3rd floor room) to go without an elevator. However, we are prepared for those short stays and bring up little luggage from the car.
Review 52:It is located in a beautiful old town (Mont-Dol). The staff is welcoming and gentle (it seems to be a family business). The room we got was at the attic, with great view of the fields surrounding the town. The room itself was fitted for our family of 5, and they had wifi. Breakfast was good. Altogether, nice time.
Review 53:La posizione dell'albergo è splendida per visitare: Dol de Bretagne, Mont-Dol e Mont Saint Michel. La stanza era ampia e confortevole e il personale gentile e disponibile. Parcheggio comodo e WI-FI.
Review 54:Room 7 has an awful shower room. You can only shower with the curtain against you and it is very claustrophobic. The slanting roof means you cannot stand in some areas. The toilet has an electric flush (no room for a cistern) and this makes a lot of noise. Avoid this roon if you can, but I don't know about the other rooms.
Review 55:Lovely views and pleasant staff
Review 56:The hosts are so thoughtful and helpful. The location is excellent, lovely views, and it is a very quiet hotel (and they expect it to bethat way). It is clean, comfortable, and a good price. I plan to return
Review 57:Not a problem for us but not the place to stay if you are looking fornight life as its a quiet rural location
Review 58:A nice welcoming, small hotel in the middle of a quiet rural villagewith a friendly bar used by locals downstairs. The English speakingowners were very helpful and friendly
Review 59:Village setting
Review 60:No tea/coffee in the rooms and no refreshments aloud in the rooms!
Review 61:Lovely people who run the hotel
Review 62:Nothing
Review 63:Everything, Charming hostess Lovely room with a wonderful view.
Review 64:the quaint accommodation and beautiful location.
Review 65:Noisy. Breakfast room is dark. Breakfast is poor. Reception was not what one can expect in a hotel:complete lack of style.
Review 66:Close to St Malo & ferry crossing
Review 67:Great welcome from the owner. Lovely views over the countryside and delicious and plentiful breakfast.
Review 68:Location and views
Review 69:Quiet location, friendly welcome, excellent restaurant next door, 25 min from ferry.
Review 70:Room is a little bit small but value for money
Review 71:Room is clean and tidy, not expensive, the restaurant next door is good
