Reviews for La Casa del Organista

Review 1:It wasn't the hotel's fault but we had a terrible night's sleep due to a couple of cockerels right next door to our room on a plot of land trying to out-do each other from around 1-2am & then every 15 minutes! Definitely ask for a room to the back or left of the building & not to the right! Bed OK, not the most comfortable & room very dark, but typical of this kind of house.

Review 2:Lovely old building, grand entrance-way, pleasant staff, good breakfast. Centrally-located in a historic town.

Review 3:The owner/manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He spoke very good English. The receptionist who met us when we arrived was also extremely welcoming and made such an effort to help us even though we were late due the ferry being so late as a result of very bad weather. The room was very comfortable and very clean and the breakfast was lovely.

Review 4:We received excellent service from Rafael who checked our group in and carried all our luggages to our rooms. He was very very helpful with recommending a good place for dinner (we had driven from Santiago de Compostela and we were tired and very hungry) and the restaurant he directed us to was excellent. Loved the homey and cozy feel of the hotel. Will recommend it to others.

Review 5:Its an old building so the plumbing is a bit noisy but don"t let that put you off.

Review 6:Arrived very late after awful ferry crossing. It was a haven of peace and tranquillity.Great location.

Review 7:Lovely welcome from the friendly owners. Super comfortable bed meant a great night's sleep, followed by beakfast on the beautiful terrace - a real treat.

Review 8:Great location in lovely old converted house. This place had such a friendly and welcoming feel all due to Raphael and his staff. Free parking out the back of the hotel and wifi in our room.

Review 9:An absolute gem of a B&B. An old house lovingly restored and cared for, situated just off Plaza Mayor. A very welcoming and restful stay with recommendations of other nearby places to visit. Breakfast was delightful.

Review 10:Hotel full of character in an enchanting place, very pleasant man served us breakfast and checked us out. Breakfast on terrace on day one of our ten-day holiday was simple but lovely.

Review 11:Nothing at all. Be aware vehicle access is a bit tricky, and there is a bit of noise from the church bells at night, but it all adds to the atmosphere.

Review 12:Great location near the centre of Santillana del Mar. Lovely views. Great breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Relaxing and traditional property. Excellent.

Review 13:Interesting and kind hosts. Hotel is in a substantial old merchant's house which is lovely and just a few paces from the busy main streets. Offers two nice sitting areas for guests as well as large bedrooms. Good breakfast. Town 2.5 kms from important Altamira cave.

Review 33:We requested and were given a double or "matrimonial" bed but in reality it was two singles pushed together that kept sliding apart. Wi-Fi reception in the rooms was good but not on the terrace where it really would have been welcome.

" We're a small village, we can do this! Old world attention to detail!" This experience was a highlight of our month trip to Spain! Gracias!

Review 48:We were a little disappointed to be given a room with a very small window, albeit with a wonderful view over the countryside. Unfortunately, the hotel was full so nothing could be done that day, however, we were given a fabulous room with a balcony the following day... the staff moved all our belongings whilst we were out. The owner could not do enough for us...a marvellous host. Breakfast was amazing value for money...good selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and sweet pastries, along with freshly made toast and coffee all taken on the terrace overlooking the countryside vista.Wonderful location right in the centre of the town with safe, secured parking on site. Highly recommended!
