Hotel Juan Francisco descritpion

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada National Park, this rural hotel offers spectacular views of the mountains and is just a short drive from monumental Granada.
The Juan Francisco offers a charming setting for your visit to the Andalusian countryside. It combines traditional amenities, such as a lounge with historic fireplace, with more modern facilities like the outdoor swimming pool.
Dine in the hotel’s own restaurant and enjoy the selection of local specialties. You can then finish off the day with a drink in the welcoming bar, or out on the scenic terrace.
Spend your day by the nearby Genil River, where you can enjoy activities ranging from fishing to canoing. The many historic sights of ancient Granada, including the magnificent Alhambra, are just 10 miles away while the Sierra Nevada ski resort is 12 miles from the hotel.

Reviews for Hotel Juan Francisco

Review 1:I could think of way to improve this hotel.

Review 2:As a frequent traveller/hotel guest I have seldom found such a gem of a hotel as this. The location is perfect for skiing in winter or enjoying the mountains in Summer. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive. My room was spotless and well appointed. I had dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent and the portions large. I have stayed many times in Guejar Sierra in different accommodation but from now on I will stay nowhere else but hotel Juan Francisco.

Review 3:Wifi working only in the bar area.

Review 4:Good private parking. Nice views from the room. The bar downstairs has a good vibe and was full of locals when we were there.

Review 5:everything was spot on.

Review 6:the hotel was perfect for our start point on la integral de los 3000m. we were able to leave our car in the car park while we were away walking for five days. we offered to pay but they insisted it was free. the breakfast was very good.

Review 7:To bad the wifi isn't working in all areas since the whole hotel has been wired with routers. A little tech support would be in order

Review 8:Excellent remodeled facilities. Great buffet breakfast.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:This hotel is ideally placed for skiing /walking in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Very clean and friendly with good breakfasts , comfy beds ,loads of hot water and great food both in the main restaurant and bar. Can't recommend highly enough

Review 11:The WiFi only worked downstairs in the bar. (The hotel doesn't claim to get WiFi to all rooms). However, I seemed to have a good signal upstairs that I couldn't connect to. The staff were disinterested, but I had a lot of work to do in the evening that I couldn't finish. I had chosen the place because it advertised Wifi and specifically asked for a room with that facility.

Review 12:Beautiful situation cradled in the mountains, convenient for Sierra Nevada ski resort provided you have a vehicle.

Review 13:WiFi in some common areas but not available in our room or some other areas of the hotel

Review 14:Friendly and comfortable with good food in restaurant. Good continental breakfast. Not far from ski village by car. Super tapas in bar.

Review 15:A hairdryer in the room would have been useful but this is a very minor complaint.

Review 16:We loved the tranquility of the hotel yet its close proximity to the vibrant little town. The cleanliness of the room and the service by staff. The small pool was very relaxing.

Review 17:The staff had a problem with the credit card machine, ending up charging us for the stay five times, and have not responded to requests to correct this. So it is now in the hands of the bank.

Review 18:It was a good location and relatively good price.

Review 19:Have stayed here on a few occasions. Always good.

Review 20:The room was clean, nice and well equipped. Location was nice, good start point for trips, parking available. Nice selection for breakfast.

Review 21:Not most comfortable of beds. Pool could have been filtered more often. Very little English spoken.

Review 22:Pool area. Bar patio. Friendly staff.

Review 23:No connection of WiFi.

Review 24:The location is great, bed is comfortable. Staff are very nice.

Review 25:Everything was great!

Review 26:Proximity to walks and mountains

Review 27:Nothing really

Review 28:Friendly and welcoming

Review 29:Beautiful village with views of reservoir and mountains. Everyone v friendly and great tapas !

Review 30:no wifi, noisy, toilet not working well

Review 31:location

Review 32:None

Review 33:Friendly staff, good location in village, free on site parking, Great tapas and excellent price

Review 34:Wifi not in rooms only in the bar/lobby

Review 35:The village atmosphere is very welcoming

Review 36:every thing

Review 37:Lack of area to sit comfortable to read

Review 38:Location excellent tapas good food at reasonable prices

Review 39:No wifi coverage in room

Review 40:free parking

Review 41:Didn't give us a outer door key so if late in had to wait for staff to attend.

Review 42:Large rooms, plenty of space, pool and outside terrace area.

Review 43:WiFi not available everywhere

Review 44:Tapas excellent this was with every drink In the town The views 20 mins from Ski resort

Review 45:We have been to Hotel Juan Francisco several times. We like the location and the family/staff who run the hotel are always very friendly and welcoming. Always good value!

Review 46:each time we had to wait for someone to come to the reception, room facilities shabby, in the bathroom not really clean, weak sound isolation.

Review 47:not far from Sierra Nevada Ski resort nice terrace breakfast just fine very nice climatic small city

Review 48:Rooms have thin doors. At weekends, the hotel seems to fill up with (spanish) guests who can be noisy in corridors and slam doors. During the week, (Feb half term) the hotel was almost empty and very quiet. The central heating in the room is not always on. At times they forget to switch it on in the evenings, and you have to ask at the reception. Wi-Fi is only strong enough near the reception.

Review 49:Spacious 3 bed room with balcony. The beds were very comfortable. Good shower in bathroom with hot water on tap. Breakfast included generous portions of jamon serrano, cooked ham & cheese brought on a platter to the table. Good location for skiing in Pradollano - only a 25 min drive from hotel (via steep mountain road). Very clean hotel & very good value dinner in the restaurant.

Review 50:the only thing I can say here is that there is not a lot of staff, for a small hotel, there was not many staff around and so they were very busy, so you had to wait some time before someone came to check you in, I had to wait a good 20 minutes before someone came even though I was ringing the bell, and there was a young couple later in the evening who had also been waiting some time, the barman was also the waiter and it was pretty busy when we were there, so he was rushed off his feet, but saying that he did an excellent job, as did all the staff there,

Review 51:I loved this hotel, it was in a beautiful village, very rural Spanish, the food was amazing value for money, the tapas served with drinks were very large portions, it was extremely clean, warm, welcoming, absolutely loved it. For only a 2 star rating I would definitely stay here again. I was with my family there were a lot of us young children also, but everyone was catered for, it was only a short drive to the Sierra Mountains, and was really good value for money.

Review 52:Drive to skiing not for the faint hearted better to take the road back to Penos Genil and turn left onto the 4026 and connect onto the main A395 to Pradallano about 15 mins extra but a lot safer and easier

Review 53:Clean tidy warm good little bar with endless free tapas

Review 54:Very little to do in the village itself. However we found a really nice Tapas Bar/ Restaurant. La Hacillas.

Review 55:Comfortable , bedrooms, restaurant, and bar. Friendly staff.

Review 56:Small problem for us was no wifi in room but ok in bar area, alsoclosing parking access gate created a driving test-style hillstart offthe steep street when it opened.

Review 57:Second visit and back in room 401 with the view through the tree, we atein the restaurant twice, both very good meals, the other 2 nights weenjoyed the village hospitality. The big excitement was the Vuelta cyclerace on the hillside up towards, but not reaching, Veleta. A lovelyholiday in a lovely location in a lovely hotel.

Review 58:Typical small Spanish town in the sierra nevada.breathtaking scenery,20k to the top of one of the peaks, which is a ski resort and only 15k to Granada .incredible value for money.

Review 59:It was a shame the swimming pool wasn't equipped with sun loungers as this would have made the hot sunny days more pleasant.

Review 60:The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was lovely, the evening meal was excellent value and very tasty.

Review 61:WIFI not working

Review 62:Very comfortable and friendly place, lovely Spanish-style breakfast, Room401 has good spacious balcony with view of snow-capped mountains(but through leafy walnut tree), nice communal lounge top floor with panoramic views. PS shower head no longer sliding! Well worth return visit!!

Review 63:Nothing much, but the breakfast was basic.

Review 64:The staff were friendly and helpful but you will need a bit of Spanishto get by. The hotel has a good Spanish feel and surrounding village hassome good bars.

Review 65:Welcomed back like old friends! Given a suite instead of standard room as we were staying a week. Great food, free tapas with drinks in the bar. Great base for skiing. Will go back again!

Review 66:- nothing!

Review 67:- staff: very helpful and welcoming - room: clean, very comfortable bed, with a nice view, bathroom clean and functional. - hotel: free car park, bars - breakfast: traditional Spanish or delicious continental, fresh fruits

Review 68:The shortcut road to the mountain from this hotel is winding andsteep, and we couldn't do it without tire chains as it had snowedthat night.

Review 69:Great and friendly staff. Very clean. On site parking. Great pricecompared to other hotels in the area...I Checked out the two other 2-star hotels in Pinos Genil and didn't like them compared to thishotel, so I went for another night at this hotel...because it wascleaner and friendlier. However, it is a bit out of the way (extra 10-15minutes) for getting to the mountain to ski...but not too bad.

Review 70:We found that not many places were open for food but with tapas given to you for every drink it didn't really matter

Review 71:The location was great very central. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Review 72:We loved the warm family feel of this hotel, and immediately felt right at home. The staff and indeed the whole village were so friendly we fell in love with the beauty of the place and the food & atmosphere in the local bars & restaurants. Each evening after skiing we actually looked forward to returning to the village, rather than trying to drag out the Apres-Ski in Sierra Nevada. We will be back!

Review 73:My fault I suppose, but no one speaks a word of anything other than Spanish.

Review 74:great value comfortable

Review 75:no wi fi in room

Review 76:Great staff, service is friendly. Beautiful location and rooms have balcony views of the Sierra Nevada mountains

Review 77:Nothing.

Review 78:Very friendly and helpful.

Review 79:Lack of wi fi in bedroom

Review 80:Friendly staff, very clean. Close to village centre. Very spanish.

Review 81:The staff are very welcoming and the location is ideal for both walking & skiing.

Review 82:Staff were very friendly and helpful and great value for money and a beautiful Spanish village.

Review 83:Kids were allowed to run around until late at night. Made it hard to sleep. Therefore lower in comfort.

Review 84:Beautiful view from room.

Review 85:Nada

Review 86:Location, great staff.

Review 87:food very good and reasonably priced

Review 88:Loved the superb location in the middle of the mountains!!

Review 89:Would like a bit more home comforts / luxury however for the price it is great value

Review 90:The family run atmosphere and friendly nature of the hotel

Review 91:furniture slightly dated/old fashioned in bedroom

Review 92:lovely decor in communal areas, friendly people, very Spanish!

Review 93:A little noisy when people are in the hotel corridors.

Review 94:The tapas in the bar and atmosphere is great. Very friendly staff.

Review 95:Super friendly, great food, great value, great hotel.

Review 96:Get a room at the front of the hotel as they keep chickens at the back and they are up before the sun!

Review 97:Great Value

Review 98:room at noisy street neighbourhood didn't feel very safe at night

Review 99:super friendly very clean good breakfast (fresh crêpes!)

Review 100:Fab place to stay lovely people and great location

Review 101:The service-minded staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, the rural location and off-course the nearby ski-resort.

Review 102:Food
