Reviews for Touvotel Brit Hotel Citotel Dieppe
Review 1:We arrived in the evening and the room was freezing as heating thermostat was set to 8 degrees (it was 1 degree outside). When we complained to the reception the lady told us the room would heat up very quickly if we turned the heating on but she didn't even bother to come and check. The room was still very cold 2 hours later and the heating turned itself off during the night so it was freezing again when we woke up. Never again!
Review 2:No hot water but was offered another room straight away. Also, when it's very windy the bedrooms at the front are noisy because of the vents on the window.
Review 3:Clean comfortable, staff always cheerful and helpful, beds very comfy.
Review 4:perhaps in the future a small bar / lounge area would be nice.
Review 5:great modern rooms at a basic price, friendly staff and ideal for the early morning ferry
Review 6:There was a strange, roaring noise when the window was opened, even a little. We eventually tracked it down to air passing under the room door and out into the corridor. The cure was then simple. We placed one of the (supplied) spare pillows close to the narrow gap under the door (simply to disrupt the flow, not to stop it) and the roaring "magically" ceased. It was actually rather amusing once we had crackd it!
Review 7:Comfortable room with good facilities, including a kettle and hair dryer. Plenty of hotel parking and a 24 hour desk. A large, comfortable bed. A lift. Close to Supermarket (for cheap fuel) and only 3 minutes (or so) drive to the ferry terminal. Very usable bathtub. (With a shower fitting.) Soundproofed. We would definitely stay there again.
Review 8:First room had no toilet seat, so we were moved without problems.
Review 9:Suited an overnight stay, near the port. No restaurant nearby, just a new McDonalds which was ok. Good breakfast at hotel.
Review 10:Absolutely fantastic hotel, perfect location for ferry, impecably clean, polite and helpful staff such amazing value for money ... Would thoroughly recommend and will be booking when travelling back to uk from france ...thankyou!
Review 11:The shower wet the whole of the bathroom floor. Needs a rethink or it will damage the room long term.
Review 12:A nice comfy bed, tea making facilities, good parking, nice staff.
Review 13:Advertisement on outside of building only says, BRIT HOTEL. Confusing if you are looking for Touvotel. Shower, wet room makes everywhere wet.
Review 14:Value for money overnight stop!
Review 15:It's right on the edge of the town so not good for easy access to town restaurants and sites.
Review 16:Very friendly staff. There was a secure place to put our bikes. The room was clean and.comfortable.
Review 17:Got disturbed twice by staff, once in the middle of the afternoon whilst having a nap, once at 1.00 am by staff knocking on wrong door
Review 18:Clean. Modern room
Review 19:No problems.
Review 20:I needed an overnight stay at Dieppe after arriving on the late evening ferry from Newhaven. Within 10 minutes from landing on French soil I was checking in at the BRIT HOTEL. Easy to find. Spacious car park. Recommended if you are just arriving in France. Would also be a good overnight if driving the coast route.
Review 21:Nothing, everything was fine.
Review 22:My French isn't very good but the staff did their level best in answering my queries. Nice and clean and obviously very new decor. Great location for Dieppe.
Review 23:It was tricky to find, primarily because the name on the hotel building is Brit Hotel, not Tovotel. Quite confusing. The location is fine if you are driving as it is several kilometres outside of Dieppe. Fortunately there is free parking available in Dieppe if you go in for dinner. I would not say that the fellow at the front desk was particularly welcoming or helpful.
Review 24:The property is new, which was a plus. The room was small, but reasonably comfortable. There is a McDonald's next door, which was handy for an inexpensive breakfast.
Review 25:A Very convenient place to stay when arriving on a late boat. Quick and easy to find after leaving the port and a warm welcome. I found it good value too
Review 26:For some inexplicable reason this hotel changed its name online in the week prior to our booking. When we booked via Booking.com it was listed only as Touvotel Dieppe. So, as you may imagine, this was the hotel that we were looking for when we arrived after a long journey across France. But could we find a hotel with that name? No.Thanks Touvotel and Booking.com for wasting almost 2 hours of our lives while we drove around Dieppe asking for directions from confused locals who had never heard of the Touvotel hotel. We followed the map, and one kind person even led us back to the point on the map where we thought it may be, but all we could see was a building off the roundabout marked 'Brit Hotel'.Eventually a British man in the nearby MacDonalds enlightened us to the fact that he too had been completely confused by his hotel booking, and the Touvotel was indeed the Brit Hotel on the other side of the car park. The woman on the desk, who seemed to be just as annoyed as us explained that the name had only changed online, and that the hotel branding was the same as it had always been. She had probably been explaining this to people all week… she seemed pretty unsympathetic to our queries. (Also rather odd that a front of house staff member at a hotel aimed at 'Brits' only spoke french to be honest…)I can understand that the hotel chain probably realised the name Brit Hotel is off-putting to the majority of people they are hoping will stay there so they are re-branding. In fact, had i seen the name Brit Hotel i may have overlooked it thinking it would be tacky and not for me. But really… change the bloody signs on the building to match the name you are marketing the hotel under!!!! (Note: It since seems to have changed again to include 'Brit Hotel Citotel'…)This aside, it turned out that the place was actually a good call. A little far out of town if you were planning on walking for some dinner, but great for the ferry in the morning.
Review 27:The hotel is close to the port and has free gated parking facilities.
Review 28:Nothing to dislike
Review 29:Nice hotel, very clean only 10 minutes from from ferry port. Good size bedroom & bathrooms, good continental breakfast selection at extra charge but well worth it Good all round hotel very reasonably priced will definitely stay again when in Dieppe.
Review 30:Bathroom floor floods when showering because of no upstand onthe shower tray. Drop the word touvotel, it is only signed with the word BRIT. More signage on roundabout required.
Review 31:Ample free parking. New hotel. Kettle in room but! Just two teabags, one mint and one green, and no milk.
Review 32:Nowhere to eat except the MacDonalds next door. The concierge directedus to a "modest" place a quarter of a mile away but when wegot there it was shut. It was a Sunday night but it looked very shut.Nowhere else around. We ended up walking into town - a 40 minute walk.
Review 33:Easy to find. Handy for ferry port. Plenty of parking. We spent theprevious night in a Campanile and this Brit Hotel place was muchbetter - and cheaper. Fastest and least-hassle wifi I've ever hadin a hotel.
Review 34:The breakfast choices were a little disappointing
Review 35:A quick overnight stay before catching the ferry. It is a very nice hotel and we had a clean and comfortable room, which was compact and provided everything we needed. It is located outside Dieppe so finding an evening meal was a bit of a problem - we ended up driving to the marina area in the town which is very pleasant. Ample parking reduces the stress.
Review 36:Perfectly located for anyone using it as a stopover to either catch the ferry or having come off the ferry. Clean, comfortable, pleasant staff and extremely good value for money.
Review 37:A bit out of the way & doesn't have a restaurant or bar but is next to a McDonalds.
Review 38:Brand new spotlessly clean hotel with free Wifi and plenty of secure parking. And a really good price.
Review 39:Communication was an issue, although it clearly states that they speak english. everytime we ask some information about something we had no answer or a very short one.
Review 40:the room was very comfortable
Review 41:although it says on the site that they speak english, communication was hard. Initial price and the booking price were very different.
Review 42:the room was very comfortable.
Review 43:Tea and coffee making facilities not found in other hotels. Adequate breakfast standard for France. Guy on reception recommended the Aux Ouvriers Réunis 2 minutes down the road which was rammed with French people & lorrydrivers enjoying the 15Euro a head 3 course with all you can eat buffet starter + a carafe of red. Ok wine was not so good but incredible value.
Review 44:Very ordinary no-frills breakfast.
Review 45:Unexpectedly excellent. Staff efficient despite all ferry passengers arriving at once at 23.00. So convenient for ferry! Clean and very well set-out bedroom and bathroom.
Review 46:Nothing
Review 47:First time we have used this hotel very convenient to the Ferry. Our room was very clean and tidy. The wifi worked perfectly also free water supplied. The breakfast was a little expensive for the choice of items. We will use this hotel again.
Review 48:The illuminated sign said BRIT HOTEL-I was looking for Touvotel. The only minor irritation.
Review 49:Exceptionally quiet, possibly because it was a weekend and the industrial area wasn't operating.Unlike all too many hotels it actually had its own parking outside the door-none of the public parking at 15 euros nonsense.
Review 50:The coffee and tea facilities were never filled up and I had to ask on a few occasions for milks, cups, breakfast tea. There were no ironing facilities, so we had creased clothes, and we were a long way out of town in a rather run down area, but of course, this was reflected in the price.
Review 51:The bed was extremely comfortable. Only had breakfast on the last day there, but that was very good with a quite a choice of foods
Review 52:There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
Review 53:The room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, The staff are friendly and very helpful, The hotel was ideally situated with regards to the centre of Dieppe and the ferry.
Review 54:Handy overnight stop near ferry port. Like a travel inn, rooms smaller though. Located near to a main road so a bit noisy with window open. Next door to a McDonald's and near supermarket. Breakfast was absolutely delightful.
Review 55:Couldn't connect to the wifi.
Review 56:We used the hotel as an overnight stop following an evening ferry. Great location 5 minutes from the port. Basic hotel but clean and well appointed rooms. I'd use the hotel again.
Review 57:not a problem but there was no toilet seat for such a new hotel how do you explain that in pigeon french. no tea and coffee making facilities which would have been lovey after a five hour ferry trip lucky i had a flask reception tried to give us some hot water
Review 58:soo close to ferry and mcdonalds for breakfast staff friendly
Review 59:More detailed directions from the Dieppe ferry would have been useful.
Review 60:Staff were very friendly, competent and accommodating. Breakfast was great value.
Review 61:The hotel is marketed as "Touvotel Brit Hotel" But the actual hotel is marked "Brit Hotel!!!" Needless to say at midnight arrival off a ferry it took us half an hour of driving around before we clicked
Review 62:Fabulous location close to Ferry
Review 63:No air-conditioning so room was very hot and window had to be left open, making it rather noisy, making soundproofing of rooms irrelevant. Room was cramped. The 3 staff encountered didn't speak English and were not very helpful. They were unable to provide a map that could help us get into town and didn't know much about the local supermarkets
Review 64:On site parking Good bathroom although wetroom style meant shower water made floor rather wet
Review 65:2 rooms were on different floors. Room for 3 was a double only. receptionist did not speak English to resolve.Another guest changed rooms to assist
Review 66:24 hour reception after ferry journey
Review 67:This is France. I would expect bread from the baker at breakfast, not pre baked rolls - 1 left at 9.20am. I asked for more, so on went some more pre-baked. And no hot options - hopeless for a Euro9 breakfast.
Review 68:Not a bad experience, just a few comments, the toilet roll holder in our end suite was loose on the wall & the power point on the right hand side of the bed had a plug pin stuck in it so couldn't use it,apart from that it was great.
Review 69:The construction of the shower was wrong. You can't close it and within a second the bathroom is flooded. The rooms were clean, nice, but they missed character.
Review 70:Coffee and tea facilities and a bottle of water at the room. A clean spacy room. Price/quality is ok.
Review 71:Hotel was within 5 mins from the ferry and easy to locate. The room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The bed was superb. Tea and coffee facility skimpy but was supplied more when we asked. Very good value for the money.
Review 72:during booking on the web it would have been good to be able to book adjoining rooms rather than take pot luck on arrival.
Review 73:friendly welcome on arrival, helpful staff managed to swap rooms around so our children in the second room were closer to us. good location for the port and visiting Dieppe. free Wifi always a bonus !
Review 74:Nothing!
Review 75:Absolutely spot on, just what you need after a boat journey. Staff was really helpful, room was fully equipped with everything you need, really clean and big tv flat screen.
Review 76:The hotel is located in the outskirt of the city centre with warehouses close by, not a hotel for travellers without cars or for those who like a nice evening stroll round the hotel.
Review 77:It's like a good motel in NA, with clean rooms stocked with amenities, friendly English speaking staff and a large car park for free parking. There's even a McDonalds right next door for folks who miss NA fast food!
Review 78:Internet is so important these days, so we were very disappointed to find that whilst we were connected to the hotel wifi, absolutely nothing could be accessed, (server not found). So we were unable to check emails or do anything on the net. And streaming was clearly out. Unfortunately, breakfast was pretty disappointing too, with a particularly limited selection of cereals. We hadn't expected the Ritz, but it still seemed poor value for money, leaving us wishing we had chosen to go to MacDonalds across the road instead.
Review 79:The hotel is very clean, well presented, but aside from that, nothing memorable. Location is convenient for a stay having arrived from Newhaven on the evening ferry.
Review 80:A really lovely hotel, well situated near the port, signs near entrance not evident so made a few wrong turns, no fry up for breakfast but that seems to be the French way but overall would definitely visit again, a super hotel and friendly and helpful staff.
Review 81:Perfect stopover for the Dieppe ferry crossing. It was a late checking in time, but very efficient staff enabled a smooth check in and much needed comfortable room and bed. Very easy to find 5 minutes from the Port. Kettle provided too!
Review 82:We were looking for a touvotel sign & went past the Brit hotel twice. Not sure why the hotel is not simply called the Brit hotel on your site.
Review 83:Proximity to ferry port, free parking, cleanliness of room
Review 84:The room originally given to us smelt very badly of smoke. We had to wait 25 minutes for the receptionist to finish his queue before he would search for another room. He was very reluctant to change us, despite me having asthma.
Review 85:French breakfast, with croissant, fruit, tea and coffee should be complementary.
Review 86:Close to supermarkets with the possibility to store food in the hotel refrigerator and have it warmed up by nice and helpful staff. A must for veggie travellers in France. Hotel answered all requests made when booking (great!)
Review 87:Proximity to Dieppe Ferry port. Enabled a good sleep after arrival on the 22.30 ferry. Ten minutes after leaving the boat we were checked in. Disabled accessible bathrooms.
Review 88:Toilet seat broken, happened the day before and they had been unable torepair due to the French holidays, no other room available for us tomove to. Breakfast expensive compared to the 3 other hotels we stayed atduring our trip, but the selection was better and re-filled regularly soprobably not a bad point.......
Review 89:Staff are friendly. Rooms are modern and large. Wi-Fi top notch andfast. Away from the city centre so quiet if you want to rest but only ashort drive (5 min) from the city centre for some lovely traditionalharbour restaurant'S.
Review 90:Within 10 minutes of leaving the port we were in our hotel room. The hotel was clean, comfortable and much better than many 'quick one night stay' hotels.
Review 91:Easy to find, very friendly, efficient staff. Lovely coffee, juice and continental breakfast items available. Handy for ferry terminal - a 30 minute walk to the harbour for lots of restaurants. Secure parking.
Review 92:There is really no criticism. My Father likes an egg for breakfast so maybe a few boiled eggs would have been nice at breakfast time.
Review 93:All excellent including the comfort of the room, efficiency of staff, ease of booking. The hotel looked new and my bed was so big and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the walk in shower was top notch.
Review 94:The only tricky bit initially was working out where the entrance was as it was a little bit confusing as you could see no entry signs within same section of road - so ended up driving further up the main road & having to turn back at a convenient point. Don't think I was the only person that night! :)
Review 95:Really close to the ferry port - and easy to see / find late at night. Shower was divine as well as the toiletries. Fab room, huge TV. Just perfect for the weary traveller & would be good for the business traveller too - as I did have to do some work whilst I was there - so the wifi was really useful!
Review 96:The hotel is fairly new, and because we hadn't updated our SatNav maps for a while, the address was unknown to it. Finding someone at 11:00pm to get directions from was a problem, but we found a friendly bar owner, who was most helpful and we found the hotel quite quickly.
Review 97:We had a very pleasant stay at the Brit Hotel, nice comfortable and clean room. We used the hotel for a stop over as we had arrived on the late evening ferry. At check-in we were also given a couple of bottles of cold water, which was most welcome and a pleasnt surprise. The hotel is located just on the outskirts of Dieppe, we would certainly stay here again.
Review 98:Situated in an industrial estate. Only meal within walking distance was a McDonalds or a Lidl cafeteria
Review 99:Keen and pleasant staff. Considerate check-out times
Review 100:Breakfast expensive so didn't eat there. No outdoor space to sit .
Review 101:Staff friendly. Fairly near bus stop into Dieppe. Supermarket across the road which was handy.
Review 102:We would have liked a little more variety of cereal at breakfast as we try to avoid the very sweet ones. For instance Bran Flakes or a plain muesli would have been great.
Review 103:Friendliness of the staff and proprietor. Comfort of the bed. Convenience of the position for shopping at Carfour & Lidl and easiness to drive into town and to the ferry terminal.
Review 104:bit pricey and booking.com only had rooms available with no refund
Review 105:convenience, comfort and cleanliness and location - also easy to find and Park said 25 hour concierge - we arrived at 0000 and no problem
Review 106:Breakfast seemed to run out too soon. For example, pastries seemed thin on the ground.
Review 107:Excellent clean rooms. Very modern. We arrived very late but reception was still open. We were able to check in very quickly. The children's beds were excellent.
Review 108:Great Hotel and Ideal for ferry travellers coming from Newhaven to Dieppe. Easy to find as its on a roundabout on the road into/out of the port Quiet location even if it is close to the road , no road noise when we stayed at all Would use this hotel again great value for money.
Review 109:There isn't much in the vicinity; but this is more the type of place to stay for travellers driving to another destination and not staying in Dieppe
Review 110:Perfect place to stay after taking the evening ferry from Newhaven: easy to reach, quick check-in. Quiet location. Free parking and fast internet.
Review 111:Really convenient and easy to find coming off the ferry. Good sized room an facilities for the low price. Free parking and helpful staff. Really clean and coffee making facilities and bath products a bonus.
Review 112:Toilet seat broken
Review 113:Plenty of parking. Good location for port and access to roads to Paris/Rouen etc. Very comfortable bed especially as I have a back problem. Lovely shower (drench type).
Review 114:For the money you pay, it is very difficult to fault it.
Review 115:The hotel was immaculately clean wherever you went. The rooms felt like we were the first people to stay in them they are that clean. The location is superb, you come straight off the ferry and you arrive at the hotel. Plenty of free parking, so no worries about leaving your car. I would recommend booking this hotel without hesitation, we stayed here on the return journey too, as we were so impressed with the value for money.
Review 116:Great location 5 mins from ferry, and a friendly welcome from the receptionist. Room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. We were also given free iced water on arribal and on departure - a lovely touch.
Review 117:Dining room is small and cramped it was very busy when we used it any there were too many people in such small room
Review 118:Comfortable well furnished rooms with helpful reception staff
Review 119:Great quiet location close to Dieppe ferry port. Very comfortable beds in clean airy room with lovely en-suite shower room. Free secure parking. Opposite 24hr McDonalds for late arrivals, but also close to town for more choice. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Review 120:Shower fittings, i,e, water supply v. good. Douche cubicle bad. no door to stop water spillage and floods the floor. Not enough hanging space and no surface for things. No toilet-roll holder. Only 1 bath towel for 2 persons. Space too small. All design and no real advantage to comfort.
Review 121:Convenient, easy to locate and good parking. Good bed.
Review 122:Nothing, it was all good.
Review 123:A great stop over from/to the ferry port. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and well stocked with towels, wash items, tea, coffee. Good WiFi connection and TV (if you wanted it)
Review 124:The only thing I didn't like was the big brown thing on the wall holding the TV and things it was ugly and wasted the look of the room.
Review 125:The beautiful toilet that's the first thing I check. The bed was lovely and comfy and the bedding was lovely and clean.
Review 126:We needed somewhere close & easy to get to off the ferry & this was perfect. Easy to find with a big neon sign & a 2 minute drive. Free & easy parking. The room, while small was modern, clean & had everything we needed. Brilliant raindrop shower. Perfect for the price.
Review 127:No English channel on the tv and as I'm very concerned with the current situation in Greece this wasn't too good.
Review 128:Good location if you are getting off the Dieppe ferry, only 5 minutes (by car) away. Doesn't look much from the outside but is very clean and modern once inside. Staff were polite and friendly. Room was fine for a short stay, not the biggest but very good shower.
Review 129:The room was excellent, great bed and bathroom facilities. Breakfast fine, and the staff bent over backwards to be helpful. A very impressive set up altogether
