With the Ubaye Mountains as a backdrop, La Grande Epervière is just a short walk from the center of Barcelonnette. It is also next to the Mercantour National Park and the Praloup ski resort.
The bright guest rooms have a private bathroom and feature a balcony overlooking the grounds and the Ubaye Mountain range. Modern facilities include a TV and free Wi-Fi access.

Review 1：Very friendly owner, beautiful hotel, we really liked the style and room, the breakfast was for our taste really great and we had a safe place for our motorbikes! We will come back next year!
Review 2：Spent 10 minutes trying to find it driving around before spotting it. Hotel manager was a little stiff, and trying too hard to help with obvious things that most travellers are aware of. On a main road, so noisy in the morning if windows are not shut. Being watched having breakfast by the HM was a little spooky ...
Review 3：Reasonable, but was a little difficult to find due to the terrible hotel pannel with terrible text contrast. Plenty of parking.
Review 4：Impressive building with many original features. Run almost singlehandedly by the owner who is very welcoming and keen to help with restaurant selection and booking which he did well. One of the better value breakfasts on our tour.

Review 9：There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway and reception area which was very noticeable and unpleasant on entering the building. The bathroom (separate toilet) was tiny with a very small bath that narrowed at the top and made standing on both legs to shower very difficult. The coffee from the machine at breakfast was tastless. We have had very good coffee from other machines in hotels so perhaps the problem is with the brand of coffee in that particular machine.
Review 10：The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. He suggested good restaurants to us and pointed out a good driving route to nice when we asked his advice on the various options. The room (superior) was bright, airy and very comfortable. The bed was large and comfortable. The chambermaid was also very friendly and very efficient. The breakfast was very good (except for the coffee) with lots of choices and very good value for money at 9 euros. Parking was free with enough spaces for everyone. Location is just outside the centre of town and with double glazing on bedroom windows is very quiet and peaceful.

Review 18：This hotel looks like it is being improved, and it will be lovely when complete. As it it is it just looks a little warn around the edges but the bedroom was clean and spacious, and the bed was really comfortable,we had a brilliant night's sleep (we were only there for one night). Breakfast was fine, a machine for your coffee/tea but there was plenty of choice. It is only a ten minute stroll to the town centre so is ideally placed.
