This exclusive boutique is located in Fornalutx, nestled in among the Alfabia Mountains of Majorca – an ideal location for a tranquil break surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape.
Modern design, including artwork from the nearby Sala Pelaires gallery, and traditional Mallorcan stylings blend at this luxury rural retreat. Out in the sunshine, you can choose to relax in the traditional, Moorish-style courtyard or on the sun terrace which lines the outdoor swimming pool. It is from this beautiful swimming pool, and the surrounding exotic grounds, that you can enjoy fantastic views of the Sóller Valley. Enjoy a refreshing shower in the hotel grotto before sitting back with a drink on the vine-covered terrace, or a light Mediterranean meal in the restaurant.

Reviews for Ca'n Verdera

Review 1:It would be good to have small fridge & coffee/tea in the rooms

Review 2:Ideal position. Easy for walking to and from. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. A car essential for visiting island. Buses ok for local travel only.

Review 3:access is via a steep hill and you need to take your bags up to the hotel yourself. My husband had a health issue and this was a bit awkward but we managed & it was worth it - we have a plan for when we come again! Bath was a bit slippery and dangerous in our view with no separate shower.

Review 4:its a beautiful area and lovely views from the hotel - easy to walk into the village which is very pretty / clean and modern inside

Review 5:Room comfortable and well appointed but a little disappointed quite dark. Possibly avoid room 1 if possible.

Review 6:Good location and helpful staff. Lovely pool and bar area.

Review 7:Decor is getting a bit tired. Step up bath was a bit scary and slippery. Join to showers a bit grungy. Bed opposite door to garden which people could walk past. No mirror at all in room so had to keep running upstairs to bathroom in 2nd room. Very low ceiling in bathroom. a few tweaks would So improve things.

Review 8:The pool, the view, size of hotel, the garden, location, staff, apart from niggles I adore this place, it is heavenly

Review 9:The hotel is uphill in a very narrow road, very quaint but literally impossible to get up.. The hotel should state in their literature not to attempt it, we had to reverse and shunt back and forth keeping fingers crossed the car wasn't damaged.

Review 10:Lovely place to relax, the garden lounge was perfect, comfortable and sheltered from the burning sun - and thunderstorms. Loved the layout of the whole place. Although the rooms are looking slightly shabby now it still retains its charm.

Review 11:I do not understand that in a hotel that costs at least 200€ per night can't offer internet connection at the pool side. A small fridge in the room is missing. Not an unneccesary luxuary in a warm climate. Both are not big investments, but would improve the score of the hotel a lot. Why not a small buffet for breakfast. Every day exactly the same breakfast is not OK... and extra costs for getting an egg as breakfast. Again not good cost/benefit ratio.

Review 12:It is a calm and comfortable hotel. Nicely located in the different Mallorca. Personnel is very friendly and helpful.

Review 13:Beautiful relaxing hotel in quiet village of Fornalutx. Loved the pool area. Breakfast was lovely sat outside. Staff always really friendly and approachable. Rooms and hotel as a whole was really clean and well maintained. Second visit and would not hesitate to return.

Review 14:Fantastic staff who couldn't do enough to help you and make the stay enjoyable. Beautiful hotel inside and in the gardens, the views from the hotel by the pool and in the garden terrace were stunning.

Review 15:I can think of nothing to dislike. Tea-making facility would have been nice but not really necessary. Be prepared for steep access and stairs.

Review 16:Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. Nothing was to much trouble.

Review 17:A magnificent gem of a hotel set in a stunning surrounding. Fantastic pool and roof terrace with astonishing views. Super friendly and helpful staff that will stop at nothing to pamper you. This place comes HIGHLY recommended. Friendly warning for older travelers, this place is located in steep hills and the hotel also has lots of stairs...

Review 18:This is a comfortable hotel but having stayed in many boutique hotels of the same value I think it's overpriced and the service was not great. The bar was not manned and one day it was inexplicably closed. The pool is lovely but there were no towels or cushions on the loungers which were very uncomfortable. Guests have to collect towels themselves from reception. There was no drinks service at the pool unless you ask at reception. It was low season and it felt like the hotel was operating a skeleton staff and partially closed for the season. This was not reflected in the prices. I don't think we'd return or recommend it to friends.

Review 19:beautiful location great friendly local restaurants good bathroom good continental breakfast beautiful terrace (although bar unmanned or closed) nice pool

Review 20:Pillows were uncomfortable

Review 21:Being English we would have liked a tea making facility within the room.

Review 22:Hotel was excellent staff friendly and helpfull

Review 23:Beautiful location; very quiet village; lovely hotel and facilties. Seems like you are on top of the world!

Review 24:Not a complaint really, but very quiet. Felt like we were the only people in the hotel.

Review 25:Great location, fabulous terrace with amazing views

Review 26:Everything

Review 27:Only minor improvement would be wifi access extended to the pool and terrace areas

Review 28:The staff was incredibly helpful. Such amazing recommendations of beautiful, unspoilt spots with very little tourists. Mallorca was a magical experience for us! Thank you! We can't wait to visit again. Nirali & John Pascarella

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:Historic building, tastefully restored and decorated. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast, pretty pool and terrace with mountain views. quiet street

Review 31:Staffing was very hands off which I like but others may find this a negative. The room was modern in style which is not to everyone's taste in such a rural location.

Review 32:Beautiful building in the heart of the village. The main selling point had to be the garden and pool which was beautiful and with stunning views. Great breakfast too in the courtyard. Cleanliness in the hotel was excellent and couldnt find fault. Perfect for relaxation away from the crowds

Review 33:The location is a bit difficult to reach, as the village is small and the streets very tiny. The parking situation was sometimes complicated.

Review 34:The hotel was very charming and overall a relaxing escape. The breakfast was served on a lovely terrace and was simple yet good. The pool area was calm and relaxing. Overall a great hotel for a relaxing get away.

Review 35:Didn't feel like hotel. More like a very lovely house. Extras like bathrobe & slippers. Weather forecast and sweeties left each evening when bed turned back. Helpful and very friendly staff. Lovely restaurant with best view in Fornalutx

Review 36:Extremly quiet. No minibar in room. No wineglasses in room. Not very comfy bed..

Review 37:The houses in the city and the cute streets. The orange and lemon trees. Not much more to it...

Review 38:not a new building, infrastructure problems with the building and the city....which is true of EVERY older building and older city!!

Review 39:Nice people, lovely area, gorgeous town. Fabulous and quiet breakfast area just for hotel residents.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:We loved the location and the style of the hotel. The whole experience was one of beautiful scenery, relaxation and good food. What more do you want from a well-earned break away from it all.

Review 42:Breakfast was great, but absolutely no variety from day to day.

Review 43:You generally don't feel like being in a hotel at Ca'n Verdera. No reception desk, quiet and almost always empty due to the size of the hotel. The atmosphere is pretty unique. You feel like a guest in a farm house. Ca'n Verdera is a great romantic little place and its surroundings are simply gorgeous.

Review 44:Although it did not affect us, we don't think this hotel would besuitable for wheelchairs or the infirm due to steps everywhere insideand a bit of a hike up from the car park.

Review 45:Beautiful location. Very peaceful with a lovely pool and garden. Staffwere very friendly and attentive. Our room had a jacuzzi bath, which wasa real treat. Would stay here again.

Review 46:The room facilities included satellite TV ( with only BBC World News in English?) music centre, air conditioning and safe but really should be enhanced with a proper full length mirror and a small fridge.Sadly during our visit the jacuzzi bath did not function at all, due to a broken mechanism. This was not explained to us on arrival leading a frustrating time trying to figure it out and disappointment that this lovely facility was not available to us ( nor reflected in the price!). Apparently, the hotel are awaiting parts from Germany to effect a repair and I only hope they do not have to wait too long! The broken safety rail into the pool at the shallow end looks as if it has been neglected for too long and just suggests further evidence of under investment or neglect in effecting speedy repairs. We loved staying here and it helps that we are mature and experienced travellers who do not need a lot of pandering or fussing over; however there were several opportunities to delight and engage us as guests which were just entirely missing. The staff were never really off hand but certainly not engaging, there seemed to be little warmth in any service provided, no ambient welcome and no interest shown in our well being or level of satisfaction. The lovely hotel lobby and bar were always empty which is not surprising given the rather intimidating notices on the main doors which seek to exclude all but hotel guests.During our stay most other guests were pleasant, multi-national, quiet natured and sophisticated but not snobby. Sadly, some did not respect the need for peaceable conduct and seemed to want to challenge the calm and peace of the pool area by being inappropriately noisy. Several children stayed there during our visit and all behaved better than these adults!! Still I guess you cannot put up a notice to say enjoy yourself....quietly!!!There is a very steep hill from the public car park to the hotel entrance and it is not easy to get closer by car.

Review 47:“Fortunate in Fornalutx” Reviewed 21 August 2012 NEW Lovely spacious room, leading through french doors to our own very private terrace with a gorgeous aspect. The whole valley seems to wrap this little town in fluffy quiet towels and the peace and tranquility simply oozed into our severely overtaxed systems. Our room was maintained to immaculate standards by courteous and flexible housekeeping staff. We much appreciated the fluffy towels, the daily weather forecast and evening sweeties which just made everything a little more homely. Overall this place has the immediate air of a spa with great decor, funky internal presentation and discrete service. The gardens here are groomed to perfection, the pool is lovely with plentiful sun beds, shades and towels and the aspect is amazing. The restaurant attached to the hotel has a fabulous aspect, provided us with great food at a competitive cost all made by one exceptional chef who has his lovely mum as his glamorous assistant. We will come back but we will return mainly for the love of the village, this extraordinarily beautiful and surprising slice of Mallorca. We hope that the owners and staff at Ca'n Verdere recognise the immense potential and value they should place on having a place in paradise and just work a tiny bit harder to ensure that we come to this hotel rather than to a competitor.

Review 48:Only one complaint - it's an expensive hotel so we found it rather irksome that they only offered a cooked breakfast or boiled / scrambled eggs at an additional cost.

Review 49:Lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful village - very quiet and peaceful.

Review 50:Dinner in restaurant flattered to deceive, It sounded great, looked okand tasted awful. Shame, as the restaurant was lovely with amazing viewsand the service was great.

Review 51:Beautiful relaxing environment lovely being able to access the roomthrough the garden beautiful views lovely breakfast

Review 52:One of the most beautiful botique hotels I have ever seen. The service, the atmosphere, the garden, the patio, pool area was so perfect if you are looking for peacefullnes. We will be back very soon.

Review 53:Staff were almost too hands off on some occasions. Had to wait for theonly staff member to finish what was obviously a lengthy personal phonecall before we could ask for a drink. Would have liked someone to comearound the garden occasionally and ask if we needed anything.Shame they don't provide any options for lunch. We had to go out and buy snacks from the village each day and bring back to eat by the pool. Breakfast may disappoint some people as you have to pay extra for eggs. Bottled water EUR 2.50 for a small bottle!!! Massage was ok but overpriced, considering the masseur was late arriving (partly due to bad weather) and the massage table had to be brought down from garden to bedroom terrace because of the rain. Apparently the indoor massage room was being used for storage so was unavailable. Under the circumstances I felt EUR100 was a lot to pay for 55 min massage outdoors. It felt a bit odd being the only customers in the restaurant for dinner even though we had been told we had to book. It's a steep slippery walk up the hill to the hotel which some people may find a bit of an ordeal.

Review 54:If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Lovely gardensand views from the pool. Room felt very private.Large bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great views from the restaurant and also good food.

Review 55:The view from the room and from the courtyard we ate breakfast in wasvery dull considering Ca'n Verdera is positioned beautifully in themountains.

Review 56:Lovely location and a great comfortable place to stay. The staff arealways very helpful and friendly.

Review 57:Whilst I thoroughally enjoyed our time at the Ca'n Verdera and would return, the bed wasn't very comfortable - 2 single mattresses put together to make a double, one mattress was hard - the other soft and the pillows were too solid and inflexible for someone like myself who only requires one small pillow. Unfortunately the sun beds were not comfortable - they looked beautiful but had no padding whatsoever and a simple addition of removable padding would have made a world of difference!

Review 58:Beautifully designed hotel in a glorious setting. Friendly and helpful staff and marvellous breakfasts. Quiet air con!

Review 59:Standard room downstairs had a direct view to the street, so that you have to use the curtain

Review 60:Fantastic view from Pool, good breakfast, nice village

Review 61:Very friendly and helpful hotel staff! Great location!

Review 62:Steep hill to pull suit cases from parking lot.

Review 63:Great location to relax.

Review 64:The setting was idyllic. The staff were charming, the breakfast was bountiful and the restaurant was superb.

Review 65:No fridge or tea/coffee in room

Review 66:Village location Quiet and relaxing Beautiful setting

Review 67:Fornalutx is an amazing small village nestled in the mountains. We tooksome great hikes and also relaxed at the pool..

Review 68:Hotel ambience and location
