Reviews for Inter-Hôtel de la Plage

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:We stayed here for three days as we were on route through Normandy the de la plage is as its name implies on the promenade over looking the Beach the hotel has no restaurant but there are many to choose from at the Harbour just a short walk away Try the Le Newhaven and I am sure you will not be disappointed we went from the hotel to Giverny to Monets garden something we had promised ourselves for a number of years and it was delightful. The Town of Dieppe has a castle occupied by German troops during WW11 and a beach landing by the Canadians who suffered an enormous loss of lives The staff at the del la plage are very welcoming and helpful we have stayed there before so we have had a previous good experience of the hotel to want to return to it. we had an excellent breakfast each mornina very well stocked buffet breakfast

Review 3:The car parking isn't free on site. That costs €8.00 per day and needs booking in advance. There is free on street parking in the vicinity of the hotel but this is very full at all times and of course not secure.

Review 4:Location and view

Review 5:If you want to pay more you can get an ocean view. If we ever go back we will.

Review 6:Very good hotel. Well located. Plenty of free parking in front of hotel eventhough you may have to walk a bit. Breakfast was very good and plenty.

Review 7:The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke great English. The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent and the place was spotless. We were sailing at 5 in the afternoon and they looked after our luggage after checkout until we were ready to get the ferry.

Review 8:Room was dark, depressing and bright orange! Bad decor. Bathroom needed updating. Looked and felt very low budget. Extremely disappointing.

Review 9:Not bad location. Knowledgeable staff

Review 10:VERY WARM WELCOME, NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE, ROOM AND WHOLE HOTEL SPOTLESS. EXCELLENT BREAKFAST, ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS WE HAVE STAYED AT IN YEARS. WANT TO RETURN ASAP. eXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:The hotel is furnished in cheerful nautical colours and has a very fresh feel to it. The room was well appointed, comfortable and clean. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

Review 13:Having booked an upper floor room and a car parking space (travelling in a vintage car)we ended up with a very lower ground room and no mention of car parking facilities on our arrival. However both requests were clearly highlighted in yellow on the hotel documentation. Seagulls obviously have sleeping problems and are very very noisy during the night - especially early morning -- it is a seaside town of course. Nevertheless we only staying for one night and I managed to park the old car in the street outside hotel.

Review 14:Excellent hotel with good facilities. Would be happy to use again. Room quite small albeit clean and good en suite. Ideal position for the town centre with plenty of shops and restaurants very nearby. Hotel staff were very good and an asset to the hotel. Breakfast is well worth having.

Review 15:Lack of parking on premises. Had to search for spot on free on road parking on arrival. Imagine in high season this could be a real issue. Moved vehicle later at night closer to hotel.

Review 16:Right on sea front. Good size bedroom and bathroom. It's apparent that efforts are being made to modernise this hotel. Reception area clean and well presented.

Review 17:Breakfast basic and really did not like machine coffee Should have facilities in room to make tea or coffee etc Shower weak and fairly ineffective

Review 18:Location good

Review 19:Our room smelt of smoke obviously from a previous occupant.

Review 20:Great location on the plage. Room with sea view and balcony. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very convenient for the ferry.

Review 21:Antiquated lift!

Review 22:Location was great. The hotel was welcoming, clean and comfortable and serve a nice breakfast. The sea view from the rooms was a bonus.

Review 23:Needed somewhere for 1 night following late ferry arrival in Dieppe. Found everything so good I booked a futher night's stay for my return journey. Easy to find, really well situated. For a hotel I found the staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming and I was warmly greeted on my return.

Review 24:We booked this hotel but didn't get to stay in it. There was some emergency to do with childbirth (lost in translation)! they booked us into the hotel next door which was not a good experience.

Review 25:we should not have tried to arrive on a Sunday afternoon in August, everyone was looking for parking places ... we should have aimed to arrive a few hours later

Review 26:excellent location near the beach

Review 27:We don't normally eat much breakfast but a lower priced meal. (just coffee/croissant) would have been very nice.

Review 28:The size of the bed, room was quiet, we were offered parking in garage,

Review 29:The location of the hotel was spot on,the receptive staff was always helpful, informative and professional. For a family with young kids a table was always reserved for us which made breakfast enjoyable the food and service.Cleaning staff is excellent asset for this hotel.

Review 30:The tub and room looked a bit tired and the sounds of the street in the back were loud enough you needed to shut the windows.

Review 31:Family owned, nice owner at front desk. Helpful and proactive. Right on beach boardwalk.

Review 32:The room was quite warm, could have done with a fan or air conditioning. Only annoyance was that parking was very difficult because of time of year - the option to reserve a space in their garage (as detailed in the guest book) wasn't clear on booking.com, which suggested that parking would be easier than it in fact was.

Review 33:Excellent staff, very helpful and welcoming. Great location. Nice breakfast. Brilliant to have free wifi and a range of English channels, particularly CBeebies!

Review 34:It looked as bright and friendly as the photo said it would. The front desk staff were very helpful and generous - they offered coffee and drinks to my daughter and family we'd arranged to meet at the hotel. Dieppe is a good place too.

Review 35:There was no tea/coffee making facility in the room. I visited in August (a Monday) and it took me an hour to find somewhere to park.

Review 36:Right on the seafront. Convenient for beach and town/harbour.

Review 37:Charming, comfortable, good value, very clean, fair value, reasonable breakfast, lovely location, very friendly and extremely helpful staff, and if you're very lucky you get to have a cuddle with Dexter the owners' dog who makes the occasional appearance and is just the most gorgeous thing.

Review 38:Nothing we got exactly what we paid for good location and great sea view

Review 39:The staff were all very friendly and welcoming nothing to much trouble Sea views were stunning

Review 40:Breakfast poor selection, and inpersonal, particularly when most visitors were english. Perhaps another member of staff would have made a difference.

Review 41:Location great and failities with lounge and outdoor seating good.

Review 42:Room was a bit small but Ok for a couple of nights. Nice level of decor and furnishings.

Review 43:Great location, overlooking sea front but close to all of the towns main attractions. .

Review 44:Small bedroom, more suited to a single traveller. Paid for garage parking but looked like the laundry/service area.

Review 45:Great location few minutes from ferry port, ideal as we had been travelling all day. Bedroom refurbished, nice bathroom. Very helpful young male receptionist on arrival.

Review 46:Trying to park can be a problem however we found somewhere and in the morning re parked the car near the hotel. The up side is it was all free.

Review 47:Nice hotel and very nice staff and will visit again as it is only one mile from the car port.

Review 48:only the 5am fire alarm, which they were swift about dealing with--but not with a lot of explanation.

Review 49:good for Dieppe ferry, old world charm, c. 1930s, being refurbished to a high standard. A very good option and we would stay again.

Review 50:We had asked for rooms with sea views but on arrival were told we couldn't have them because they were available only for stays of 3 days or more. The receptionist said she had sent messgaes via Booking.com but we never received them. She was very abrupt with us but became friendlier later

Review 51:Excellent location, plenty of parking

Review 52:No bad words to say at all

Review 53:Location from the Ferry Shuttle Bus was perfect, about 6 minutes walk. Staff very friendly and happy. Excellent quality hotel which is across the road from the Beach

Review 54:We would have like to see protein at the breakfast.

Review 55:Loved the location of the hotel. It was right across from the boardwalk at the beach, and parking was free as long as you could find a spot. The room was very clean, and the wifi worked great. the pillows and bed weren't bad. Nice to see a mini fridge in the room. Allowed us to get our own breakfast stuff and have our own breakfast one morning instead of paying 9.50 euros each for theirs. Had their breakfast on our last morning and while the pastries were great, there was no meat, and no proteins with the exception (I think) of a boiled egg. Im glad we only ate breakfast once. The coffee machine was great tho.

Review 56:The only downside was that it was difficult to find parking near the hotel and we had to carry our luggage quite a long way.

Review 57:Great location on seafront. Friendly staff, lovely spacious clean room with very comfortable bed and nice view over internal courtyard.

Review 58:Wifi connection was rather bad. The elevator stops within a half level, so it must be kept in mind that you have to carry suitcases half a floor up or down

Review 59:Clean and cosy with a excellent location.Delicious breakfast.

Review 60:We like how the hotel has been refurbished. Mainly though, the service the staff gave us was outstanding, friendly and conscientious. In particular the lady on reception went the extra mile, helping us with our travel plans, without any fuss.

Review 61:NOTHING

Review 62:WE LIKED OUR ROOM SERVICE PLACE BREAKFAST ISABBLE AND HUSBAND AND ALL STAFF SO HELPFULL NOTHIN WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE GOING BACK FOR LONGER IN FEW MONTHS TIME THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH KEN ANGIE

Review 63:the appalllng job of finding somewhere to park on a sunny Sunday afternoon when there's a major football tournament on the fields; ; we were lucky circling only for 1 hour, other guests spent 2.5 hours in their search

Review 64:location: close to the beach, and close to the old town of Dieppe and its many eateries

Review 65:This hotel advertises that there is free parking in a public parking lot across the street. This lot is used by all guests in all the hotels along the strip. We arrived on a Sunday in June and there was no parking anywhere near our hotel. The staff are not friendly and really could care less. We drove around the city for 2 hrs. looking for parking. Wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Review 66:Close to the beach

Review 67:i had trouble logging onto the wifi but that could have been my phone

Review 68:the hotel is well sited for the town and beach, the room was spacious and the breakfast excellent, the bar was comfortable in the evening

Review 69:you had to go up and down steps to get to the one very small lift. not very friendly if you are disabled, have difficulty in walking or have luggage. layout is like a rabbit warren.

Review 70:close to restaurants and on promenade

Review 71:If the coffee machine is not dispensing, take the cup out, let it reset and try again.

Review 72:Cyclist friendly hotel, with secure garage. Comfortable room. Good breakfast selection.

Review 73:Absolutely nothing!

Review 74:Perfect! Arrived and was delighted with our choice... It was even nicer than it looks online! Stylish, clean & bright interior design, great location, secure parking & super friendly staff. We had a sea view room which I would recommend. Room had tea/coffee etc & a really cheap mini bar! Lovely helpful folder in the room re local restaurants & amenities... Which we used! Try the new haven for some of the best Moules ever! Only minutes away from the ferry terminal so very user friendly for an easy arrival/departure. Would book here again straightaway should we return to Dieppe. Thank you hotel de la Plage for creating a great hotel at a great price.

Review 75:I had asked to have two separate beds but when we got there, we only had one. The front desk person seemed annoyed when I asked about it. She did apologize the next day...

Review 76:It has a great location and the front desk person gave us some great recommendations for dinner. The bathroom was new and bright.

Review 77:It was disappointing that the internet connection was intermittent.

Review 78:Staff and quietness of the hotel even though it must have been quite full as lots of people at breakfast

Review 79:Noisy seagulls, but to be expected at the seaside.

Review 80:Easy to find, helpful staff, good location for the ferry, 24hr checkout was helpful as we were leaving early in the morning

Review 81:No complaints.

Review 82:The staff are very friendly, the location is great and handy for all Dieppe has to offer. Good choice at breakfast in a sunny room. We have stayed here many times, some of the standard rooms are a bit small so opt for a comfort or superior room if possible.

Review 83:The woman at reception when we checked in was quite pushy to make us pay for an upgrade with a sea view. Also they had workmen in, who set the fire alarm off in the morning, We'd got dressed and were half way down the stairs before it was declared a false alarm - not a restful start to the day!

Review 84:Staff in the morning were very helpful. It's a great location. We were offered an upgrade with the promise of a free wi-fi,but we didn't got for that option and the wi-fi was free in our basic room! Lots of potential parking outside, but it was quite busy, even mid week in March.

Review 85:The floor in the tiny lift felt like it was giving way. Carpets and decor a bit tired and worn. No tea/coffee making facility in room

Review 86:Pet friendly, good views.

Review 87:Not much we didnt like and its hard to find any issues at all. however, the automatic coffee machine in the dining room was a bit loud and rather irritating and perhaps could be placed in a different location [?].

Review 88:Very helpful staff, cleanliness, well designed hi-tech dining room and impressive rear library extension with good lighting, interesting colour schemes and doors and windows onto a tropical themed terrace with real palm trees. Breakfast choice was quite good and reasonably priced. WiFi that worked OK and good TV coverage.

Review 89:No bad experience, but the washbasin tap broke down, but was quickly fixed so all was well, well done all!!

Review 90:Extremely friendly and helpful, on our departure, after leaving the luggage in the hotel to pick it up later were leaving on the late ferry, were given an afternoon tea. Hope to stay again.

Review 91:Everything excellent, will stay there again if in Dieppe

Review 92:Staff very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English and helped us to find local restaurants

Review 93:The staff were quite unfriendly. We once left the hotel until 4 to let cleaning happen and got told off on our return because we hadn't stayed away long enough for the cleaner to get to our room... The drink prices at the bar changed depending on who served you (found out after that we were charged 10 euro more than what the menu stated...). Their behaviour made us feel a bit like naughty schoolchildren....

Review 94:Great decor, the rooms were comfortable and did include tea/coffee making facilities as well as an amazing shower. Gorgeous hotel dog too, very well behaved.

Review 95:Perhaps a touch over-priced for off season.

Review 96:A very warm Christmassy welcome with the hotel looking very attractive. Their little dog, Dexter, is a great asset.

Review 97:Room slightly on the small side for two. Fine for one night but maybe not for a longer stay. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Review 98:comfortable stay in a rear room. Great location, free parking in street? Staff welcoming and helpful. Would choose hotel again.

Review 99:The appalling, thin, rough toilet paper. The small bath towels The apparent lack of concern for little but obvious things like the mess on the table by the ground floor lift and the urn by the entrance to the hotel which was overflowing the same discarded cigarette packets on both days of our stay, and the hotel bill written in felt-tip pen on a piece of plain A5 with the hotel's name just a faint rubber stamp at the top.

Review 100:The standard "euro-breakfast" was enhanced by the quality of some of the ingredients, particularly the excellent fresh fruit salad (no meats on offer though). The bed was a good size and very comfortable. Easy to use free wifi We would have used the small balcony had the weather been better.

Review 101:Difficult to park, especially arriving on a Saturday afternoon before Christmas (avoid arriving at this time if poss!) but good, safe Vinci car park further down the road for only 4.50 euros for 24 hours.

Review 102:Welcoming and helpful staff. Well furnished and decorated, with warm and personal touches. Very good breakfast.

Review 103:Breakfast at €9 per head including children was very expensive and not good value. Even a full English Breakfast would be cheaper than this in many similar UK hotels.

Review 104:Not much

Review 105:Friendly helpful staff, they dealt very well with a power cut in their part of the town. Having a drink by candlelight in the garden was a delight.

Review 106:The staff could not have been more helpful. As Canadians, we wereinterested in seeing locations important to our troops during the twoWorld Wars, and the staff was absolutely exemplary in helping us withlocations and distances. Their suggestions were invaluable. Thebreakfasts were lovely. We sat at a window seat and enjoyed the view andthe food. If we ever return to this area of Europe, we would definitelystay at this fine hotel. Thanks to everyone.

Review 107:After travelling for 400 miles we arrived at the Hotel expecting at least a little hassle especially as we had two young Fox Terriers with us. This was not to happen, registration was fast and extremely efficient from a first class receptionist. The room was comfortable, good shower and very clean. Breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious. All in all very hard working staff providing a happy stay

Review 108:Parking was very difficult in this area. After driving round and roundsearching for street parking we resorted to the multi storey which isabout 200 yards from the hotel. Only cost 4.5 euros for 24 hours so ifyou don't mind a bit of a walk it is ok. Would have liked tea makingfacilities in bedroom.

Review 109:Nice clean hotel, modern decor in public areas. Bedroom simple but cleanand modern

Review 110:When dieppe is busy then parking nearby can be difficult.

Review 111:Hotel staff were obliging - friends came from Paris to meet us and we were able to spend an afternoon in a nice area and were provided with tea and coffee.

Review 112:NOISY neighbours, slamming doors, talking loudly at midnight. LOUD talk in the breakfast room, no consideration for other diners!) Hairdryer in Room 304 was no good for arthritic thumbs... Hairdryer in Room 110 wouldn't stretch to see myself in the mirror!

Review 113:Breakfasts were plentiful, room refreshing and clean (modern, too), couldn't hear anything from outside. Felt really at home. The hotel felt more like a large family house than a stuffy hotel. Definitely recommend.

Review 114:The location was great - near the town and the beach. We went for the Kite Festival and although we did not have a sea view, we were able to sit on the terrace and watch the kite displays. The staff could not have been more helpful and everything was spotlessly clean.

Review 115:Can't fault the hotel at all.

Review 116:Felt like family, staff were efficient, friendly and non-invasive. Service was like being in a friendly home. Breakfasts were plentiful, staff soon remembered us.

Review 117:The breakfast was expensive and they seemed to run out of things if you were down late.

Review 118:The hotel is very close to the beach and to the quay, where the best eating places are located. It has a very welcoming reception area, with soft classical music playing. A great place to relay with a drink.

Review 119:The lady on reception was rather rude and not welcoming at all. The family room was not ready for us. She suggested we pay extra and have two rooms. We did not think that it was possible to get two extra single beds in the room we were shown. She was not happy with our response. Eventually she relented and gave us the two rooms. Her demeanor did not improve over our two day stay. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 120:The location was very good and the hotel was very clean.

Review 121:We found the bare floor everywhere a bit clinical. Some rugs, especially in the bedrooms would make it more cosy. It would be nice tohave a few books in the library in languages other than French ieGerman, Italian,English.Perhaps guests could leave books they havefinished reading.

Review 122:The location was very convenient. We liked that everywhere was clean andbright. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially as our french isnot very good.

Review 123:Not the hotel's fault but very noisy herring gulls, worse because we were on the top floor on a hot night, so windows were open.

Review 124:Modern decor, friendly staff, crisp clean feel.

Review 125:Lots of on street parking and one can back in off road to offload luggage securely.Room and bathroom a good size, clean, well fitted and decorated and could be well ventilated with large windows overlooking courtyard in refurbished town side of hotel. Buffet breakfast, extra, constantly replenished. Spacious reception area with on the ball reception staff always available, spacious toilets, information leaflets, comfortable chairs, books and umbrellas to borrow. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Booked too late to get a sea view but the cries of the seagulls a were reminder of the proximity of the sea and fishing harbour. Car ferry just outside town, so no need to allow extra travelling time. More than enough to do in Dieppe for a weekend in summer and a week would be no problem with a car.

Review 126:The hotel looked like it was recently decorated however the carpet upstairs in the landing should have been changed as well as it was old and worn.

Review 127:The hotel was beautiful and in an ideal location. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Review 128:There isn't anything negative I can say about Hotel de la Plage! Will definitely be back.

Review 129:The staff was very friendly and the new room overlooking the courtyard was a vast improvement from an older room I stayed in last year. I hope they are remodeling all of them to this standard! We also loved being greeted by the friendly, big white dog in the lobby again.

Review 130:The hairdryer in room 303 was not good and I would have rather had a proper shower cubicle as I have difficulty climbing in and out of a bath. Also, I am glad I was not there when the rock festival was on the green as it would have been too noisy for me. Plus the plugs I bought to use in France did not fit the sockets in my room although they did fit in Room 305.

Review 131:The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful. The hotel is in easy walking distance of quay and shops and beach and the breakfasts were excellent. I will definitely visit again.

Review 132:Large numbers of shrieking seagulls disturbed sleep (not that staff could do anything about it!.) Not told about library/lounge area until checkout.

Review 133:Staff very efficient. Liked being able to leave cases (for free) during day after checkout. Excellent breakfast, comfortable bed.

Review 134:Very small room overlooking waste area and very noisy, not as described in reservation. Dogs in the breakfast room.

Review 135:Good location, lift and breakfast room

Review 136:When using the basin, you almost have to stand in the shower. The sleeping room's mirror is located beside the bed and there is no mirror at the wardrobe. But these are minor problems of design that can easily be solved.

Review 137:Very modern and well designed. Brand-newly equipped. Very quiet room with windows to the garden side. Very friendly and competent staff. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

The Fine Print
