Reviews for L'Eolienne

Review 1:Quiet location on the edge of Dieppe, good value dinner, adequate continental breakfast, car parking, close to supermarkets to stock up before joining ferry

Review 2:We had a wonderful meal and it was handy to be able to watch our children on the swings and playing from the dining room conservatory while enjoying the end of our meal

Review 3:Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We really liked our stay there, I recommend it. The room and all the house is stylie, clean and tidy. The breakfast was also good. We could put the bikes to a closed place. Nice and calm surrounding. Ideal place to start bike trips around. We made one part of the Paris-London bike road.

Review 4:We did not make a reservation for the restaurant and, being weekend, there were no more places. We regret we missed the chance to taste the praised food of the place. Accommodation is very basic but totally satisfactory. Very clean as well.

Review 5:No coffee making facilities in room.

Review 6:Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Good food and a nice continental breakfast There was a goat roaming around and he was fun to play with

Review 7:Really accommodating, organised an early breakfast, made the stay really comfortable & ensured we had all we needed. Very friendly, we'll go again

Review 8:Rooms are a bit compact and can feel overly warm so air conditioning would be a useful addition to make it a bit more comfortable and remove the need to open the window at night as the room overlooked a fairly busy main road.

Review 9:Pleasant location rustic appearance pleasant staff clean and well kept rooms and communal areas. Good parking and a truly excellent restaurant.

Review 10:Rather small bathroom, but that would not put me off booking again. In fact we did book again for our return journey

Review 11:Quiet Location. Comfortable Room Good Breakfast

Review 12:Desk staff efficient but neither friendly nor especially helpful. Restaurant closed, so had to drive to town for dinner.

Review 13:Comfortable room. Nice view. Peaceful location.

Review 14:Had planned to eat in the restaurant, but after driving across French was simple too tired. As I needed to drive to the ferry for 05:30 I also missed breakfast. The receptionist was very helpful, offered coffee and gave advice about leaving early. Room was small but well furnished and the wi-fi.

Review 15:The bed! It was lumpy and hard. Also there was only one cushion shaped pillow per person.

Review 16:A good short stay hotel. Clean and a good shower. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was basic. That said, we enjoyed our stay and the restaurant was very good. The staff were friendly.

Review 17:room small. no mattress protector on bed, scruffy not very clean noisy when other people in rooms using shower poor value

Review 19:Just a little bit hard to find

Review 20:Restaurant was excellent, the menu was varied service good and the food fantastic] The hotel was comfortable and clean and very accommodating. Breakfast was included in the room but we had to leave at 4am so the hotel put on croissants and pain au chocolate for us at 4am along with coffee, it was much appreciated

Review 21:We couldn't eat in the restaurant. Not even have something snackish. We had not reserved and the restaurant is very popular with locals. We got there soon after 9pm.

Review 22:Perfectly located to break the back of a long drive from Brittany to the Chunnel.

Review 23:Bear in mind Monday's menu for residents is very limited.

Review 24:A nice quiet private location ideal for stopover before heading to Brittany. Perfect for our dog as well as ourselves. Meals for residents only on Mondays which was when we arrived. Pleasant and very welcoming staff. Fantastic breakfast. Great value for money.

Review 25:Although I was expecting some bulots in the starter, they are not my favourite and there were a lot of them! The starter was otherwise excellent.

Review 26:Pretty much everything - staff were friendly, the food (including breakfast) was good, the sun was shining, the goats were amusing... Not sure why some other reviews have commented on the size of the bedrooms - ours was fine.

Review 27:Our evening meal was perfectly acceptable but to be honest the portions were huge and I prefer not to waste food. Good home cooking standard but not fine dining.

Review 28:Pleasant overnight stay. B & B plus dinner as expected for the price.

Review 29:The room was rather small but fine for the one night we stayed.

Review 30:The food was excellent and the restaurant was very busy with local people. Always a good sign. There was a nice little garden but it rained so we were unable to use it.

Review 31:Handy for port/ferries. Excellent value in family room. Breakfast fantastic.

Review 67:Nothing

Review 68:All of it

Review 69:room a bit tired

Review 70:family room available ensuite restaurant seemed good (but closed on Sundays - the day we were there!)

Review 71:Pas de terrasse Pas d'equipement

Review 72:Emplacement Petit Dejeuner Wifi

Review 73:Adequate room withWifi access. Good quality meals at a good price. Pleasant staff

Review 74:small bed and dull decor

Review 75:bathroom

Review 76:supposed to be .9km to ferry port actually 3.5 miles !

Review 77:clean, comfortable,friendly staff.

Review 78:Excellent breakfasts and willingness to provide even at 4 in the morning before catching a ferry!

Review 79:Very friendly service - even left us an early breakfast when we had to leave before normal breakfast service began! Lovely clean room - would definitely recommend.

Review 80:Our room. Tiny. Poor quality. Felt very cheap. The whole approach to the room felt cheap. Admittedly, it was only two or three star. But the price did not really reflect that, we felt.

Review 81:The meal was quite good. The breakfast was good, as was the quantity available, and the charm and efficiency of the waitress. The staff were good, and pleasant. On-site parking.

Review 82:Heating in room doesn't turn off at night. Lumpy pillows! No hairdryer in the room/bedroom

Review 83:Peace and quiet after a long day and a gourmet dinner is what this B&B offered. Situated on the outskirts of town, handy for any direction, we found this charming old farmhouse with its pretty front garden and wood-chimney Restaurant. The bedroom was basic, for the price. The Restaurant is gourmet with a large choice of menus. Although the young waiter was inexperienced, he was very polite and definitely eager to learn his trade. We chose a 3-course mixed-grill menu from a much larger menu and were not disappointed. Leave room for dessert and the cheese tray! Breakfast was continental but plentiful.

Review 84:Not the sort of place you can stroll out of and walk to shops/ cafes etc

Review 85:We had to leave at 4.15am to catch the ferry and the proprietor kindly left us a flask of coffee, orange and croissants which was much appreciated. The family room was for 4/5 people and comes with a little balcony looking towards the port. The restaurant is v popular so if you stay make a restaurant booking at the same time. We were directed to a pizza place 5 mins walk away which was great, family run operation. Otherwise you would have to drive back into town.

Review 86:The found was outstanding and some of the best food we've had in France. The hotel itself was of a very high standard for a 2 star hotel and the staff were very accommodating for a noisy family with small children who arrived late!

Review 87:We were directly above the dining room so we did hear the noise from there when wanted to go to bed after a long tiring journey. The fireworks didn't help but that had nothing to do with the hotel.

Review 88:The family room was of good size with a comfortable double bed and bunk beds. It was clean and a very powerful shower which we liked. Good value for money with breakfast.

Review 89:Our room was very basic and although clean seemed very expensive for what we got. it was also noisy as we had young children next to us

Review 90:We were so tired when we arrived that we decided to have a meal here which was excellent the best meal of our whole holiday. The breakfast was included and also very good.

Review 91:Could not extend stay with another night (due to heavy rains we wanted a rest day) because all 3-bed rooms supposedly booked. With was odd considering the fact that we could see their availability online... and we are family with kid, not hooligans or a biker gang or whatever...

Review 92:Nice little hotel, nothing fancy but all decent. Friendly staff, great breakfast. Free wifi in room

Review 93:Nothing as it is a well run family business.

Review 94:The rooms are clean and comfortable without being luxurious. The food in the restauant is quite outstanding and remarkably good value. The mewat is cooked on a log fire, and the desserts are scrumptious. I would drive a long way to find this restaurant, amnd theat is why we often stay here when we are in the area.

Review 95:The room we had was damp. The door on the bthroom had swelled and couldnot be closed easily. This is a smaller, almost family run business so the desk and the doors close up at 11:00pm. If you go out and are returning late, get the pass code to get back in!

Review 96:The dinning area was great. Very warm and comfotable.

Review 97:We used this hotel as a stop between Normandy and Calais. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our family room was basic, but it had everything we needed for a short stay, being clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very substantial.

Review 98:Perfect location, ideal for ferries, large clean family friendly room, quiet, excellent breakfast, very twee, very friendly, good parking, park for children.

Review 99:The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were amazing. Very clean and fresh. That goes for the bathrooms as well. Plenty of towels. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Review 100:Having arrived at 6pm the restaurant was already booked up for theevening with no special consideration for those staying at hotel.Having gone out to find somewhere else to eat we returned to find nowhere to park the car as the car park was full of locals eating at the hotel. We had to leave the car once again, fully packed with a weeks luggage and walk to the hotel. Should have an area reserved for guests.

Review 101:Convenient for ferry and centre of Dieppe at a reasonable price.

Review 102:Rooms are tired and need refurbishing at this summer price.

Review 103:Lovely staff terrific restaurant. Food is really good and fair value for money, no problem with the dog. Great continental breakfast inclusive.

Review 104:Dogs! The French like to take their dogs on holiday, and boy dothey make a noise when the owners leave them in the room whilstthey're eating.Having to catch a 5am ferry, we were in bed early. But had to get up and get the hotel staff to get the family in the room next to ours to return to get the dog to stop barking and whimpering. The rooms aren't sound proof!!

Review 105:The atmosphere was really nice and the staff were so friendly - we chose to have dinner at the hotel and it was the best meal I'd had in France. The 3 course meal was not only good value for money but so delicious! I'd go back just to have dinner, it was that good!

Review 106:Nothing--- it is a great find amongst all the normal type hotels.

Review 107:This querky hotel on the outskirts of Dieppe is full of character, and has an excellent restaurant where the steaks are cooked on an open fire. This is the second time I have stayed there within a year, and I am most impressed with the friendly and efficient staff. It may not be on the sea front, but it is very good value, and the food is outstanding. I reccomend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area, but remember the restauant is closed on Sunday evenings. The rooms are typically French ---functional and clean without being luxurious. By the way the red wine in a carafe is also excellent value.

Review 108:Convenient for the early morning ferry after the long trip up fromAngers. Very much enjoyed the meal in the restaurant in the evening.Even the menu was produced in English . Would have liked an extrapillow made do with rolled up clothes. Requested in the booking for acup of coffee before we left for the boat as there are no facilities inthe room was not discusssed when we booked in made do withe travelkettle in the car.

Review 109:This is a no frill room. The bed was awful, it completely slooped tothe middle.

Review 110:The staff were nice. The restaurant was booked for the evening, theydirected us into town to find restaurant.

Review 111:No elevator

Review 112:Clean and comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant collocated with hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking on site.

Review 113:Bedroom & Bathroom rather small

Review 114:Excellent Food and very reasonably priced

Review 115:Friendly, clean, comfortable and a great restaurant. Good value and a short bus ride from the centre of town,

Review 116:Very basic, small room with tiny bathroom,as a one night stop simply tocrash, ideal, sadly restaurant closed, but nice people

Review 117:Place was nice, location was good. Excellent food at the restaurant!

The Fine Print

The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
