Reviews for Hotel El Marino
Review 1:Lack of tea making facilities in room especially when restaurant and cafeteria closed. Local TV stations only. All in Spanish.
Review 2:Staff were friendly but very little English and we had no Spanish so it was hard making ourselves understood. Couldn't find food New Year's Eve. Everywhere was closed and the hotel restaurant and cafeteria were closed also. Santiago del la Ribera is not a place to be at New Years.
Review 3:Some noise from children's amusements on prom outside. Restaurant and outside cafe not open in the week we stayed end June/start July.
Review 4:Loved sea view from balcony, excellent free wi-fi,clean,friendly,air-con,ample hot water, handy fridge, value for money
Review 5:Not the fault of the hotel but the downside of a front line location is that beach cleaning starts about 3 am., then street cleaning starts so be prepared for a disturbed sleep.
Review 6:Front rooms with great view of Mar Menor
Review 7:Good location overlooking the harbour/beach. Pleasant staff and very clean accommodation. We went when the restaurant was closed so can't give an opinion of the food but there are many cafes/restaurants close by.Santiago de la Ribera is a lovely , family orientated resort with a boat trip available to La Manga if required.
Review 8:The staff and owners were professional and personal. Accomodated us really well and made us feel great with how many we were. Excellent value and everything we could wish for.
Review 9:Stayed here for 1 night after a lengthy drive. Front desk is 24 hours and the staff could not of been any more helpful or friendly. Pointed us to a nice restaurant nearby as they were not yet open.Rooms very nice particularly the one with the sea view. Parking a little tricky around here but not impossible. Fairly closely situated to the airport and very close to the sea. Would stay again.
Review 10:No double beds in hotel,
Review 11:Location could not be better, although a bit difficult to find with improvements to esplanade being carried out. Beautifully clean in all areas, staff very friendly, altogether very comfortable. Hot water at all times, heated bathroom. Restaurant not open in winter, so cannot comment on that, but perfectly adequate continental breakfast cheerfully provided.
Review 12:Tree in front of bedroom window partially blocked sea view from first floor.
Review 13:Friendly staff. Opposite good restaurant. Requested first floor and was given first floor.
Review 14:There was no room service at all. The staff did not speak any English.
Review 15:I liked the comfort of the beds, the quality of the toiletries, the balcony was excellent with wonderful sea views.
Review 16:A small gripe was the free aircon was pre-set in the room thermostat so although it was fully working,it would have been better to be able to get it to blow cooler at times.
Review 17:Everything was better than we would have imagined from the moment we arrived. This place is a real gem, from the cleanliness of the rooms, the full bathroom, the fridge, good free Wi-Fi,brilliant location and the pleasent nature of all the staff we met, even though their English was not great, genuine efforts always were made to help us out.Adequate Continental breakfast served with tasty coffee. You are on the main Esplanade of Santiago de la Ribera and everything is on your doorstep.I want to come back!
Review 18:We ordered a double room only to find a room with two single beds. We pushed them together but if you want a proper double bed you might check on this when booking.
Review 19:This hotel overlooks the Mar Menor beach so is excellent in terms of location. The staff are friendly and efficient and the hotel is very clean and well kept. The wi-fi worked really well and the bed was comfortable and there was no noise during the night, so sleep wasn't a problem (even in August). The hotel offers meals so is very self sufficient although there are many bars and restaurants very close by which are worth exploring. The rooms have a fridge in case you want to keep drinks or food cold and fresh. The sandy beach is great and there's a family atmosphere (it isn't characterized by a lot of sun-obsessed drunkards behaving badly). As for parking, there is none at the hotel but you can unload your cases right outside the hotel and find a parking space nearby in the street. Just drive past the hotel and the road bears to the right and you can normally find a place with a quarter of a mile, even in high season.
