Reviews for Hotel Bahía Flamingo
Review 1:Having to wear a bracelet to signify I was breakfast and evening meal. Other people had free drinks!
Review 2:I liked that it was on the edge of Los Gigantes away from the hurly burly of tourism. I had a re-furbished room which was simple but had a large sitting room and balcony with sea views. The sitting room had only ONE light so a reading light would have been welcome. Breakfast had a good variety of fruit, yoghurts and nice breads etc. The main courses at dinner were dull but the fish was tasty. Good value for money. There was a lovely beach nearby.
Review 3:No playground, small place for sunbeds around the pool. At 7.30 am all the sunbeds are occupied by towels. HELL for non-smokers. 90% of the guests smoking, mainly around the pool and in the open-air/inside bars. But practically everywhere- except for the restaurant. Guests mainly from the UK, loud, smoking, simple workers. There was no fridge in the room. Simple, plastic chairs on the "balcony". Shows are every nights, but surrounded by smoking guests, so we escaped.
Review 4:Clean, good kitchen with wide choice.
Review 5:Hotel is by the sea, but in a cliff - It is not Close to the beach, you must walk circa 500 m do get to Playa Arena. Needs some renovation but is still ok. Mattresses are HORRIBLE, very soft with bumps, Need urgent replacement
Review 6:The view is amazing, and the Food is delicious ( but lacks a bit of salt)
Review 7:The reception and bar lounge were cheaply furnished - very clean but not very comfortable or welcoming - a shame as both have great potential for improvement. The bedroom was newly decorated but bathroom, although clean, was very tired and in need of total re-fit.
Review 8:Lovely large balcony from our room with beautiful sea view - perfect for watching wonderful sunsets in the evening. Very good choice of food at breakfast and evening meal. Nice raised patio area with glass screening overlooking the sea with comfortable outdoor sofas and chairs - lovely spot for morning coffee and evening drinks.
Review 9:Internet we paid for not fast enough and not always working. Evening meal seemed to be very much budget food especially meat (very fatty).A lift to the top floor would be nice!
Review 10:Clean, convenient good value for money.
Review 11:Very noisy impossible to take a good rest. Thin walls. The food usually not fresh very low quality. No parking places.
Review 12:The staff was perfect very nice persons. The room was clean. Cleaning every day.
Review 13:False eyelashes stuck to the bottom sink, hot tap cold and cold tap was hot! Electricity box was hanging off, swimming pool 4 degrees colder than the sea. Group of middle aged men making inappropriate comments to myself and my daughter making it impossible to sit on our balcony. Evening meal consisted of different colour slop, didn't eat there once.
Review 14:Breakfast was lovely as we're the staff. Very comfy bed.Location perfect.
Review 15:- very very slow internet at lobby - road construction in front of the hotel, if you want to spend all the time in the hotel, be careful, because it can be noisy from time to time. - small parking, many people from the hotel, like me, have rented cars and there is not enough space for the cars
Review 16:- ocean view from 4th floor :) - cleanliness in the whole hotel - location of the hotel, just rent a car and whole island is closed to you - food in relation to price and hotel quality 3*** was OK, the disadvantage for soups, it was more related to cream then to real soup :) - silence night after 23. It was really calm :)
Review 17:No mini bar/fridge in the room. Hot water just for 10 minutes and then cold water running. After some time waiting hot water again running. This was annoying.
Review 18:Tasty breakfast and dinner. Personal very helpful. Good location and nice ocean view.
Review 19:Staff at reception were rude and unhelpful. Did not show us to our room after we had said we were lost twice? You have to pay for TV in the room. Rooms were outdated and desperate need of an upgrade. Towels and beds were only changed every 3 days which I didn't like personally. Bar closed at 11pm and no air conditioning or hair dryers in rooms.
Review 20:Could not fault the food in the hotel, Great food lots of choice and variety for value of hotel. A lot of choice for drinks, bar staff were friendly and fab views from hotel.
Review 21:The room was very basic, the bathroom sink was cracked, you have to hire a remote control for the TV. There was no organisation in the dining room, and currently there are road works outside the hotel.
Review 22:The dining room had a microwave to re heat food.
Review 23:Nothing good about the reception...everything what you ask they give you breef answer, not a proper information, they inform you about important things post factum...not helpful at all...
Review 24:Very nice staff ogf the restaurant. All service in a restaurante was fast cleen and plesant. 10 point for that.
Review 25:Our bathroom was smelly, the same with the swimming pool. You could have smell cheap detergents, but not freshness. There was NO SOCKETS in the room!!! Generally the hotel was shabby and needs renovating. Outside staircases without elevators may be a problem for elderly/disabled people or people with big luggage. Entrance to our staircase was behind the building, next to a loud and ugly utility building (laundry, kitchen, transformer?). Air con would be nice, as it's quite warm area.
Review 26:The main, if not only, advantage of the hotel was food. Also, I felt that the hotel staff was really trying to cover the lacks of the hotel by delivering a good service.
Review 27:WiFi weak and unusable. Evening meals horrible. Very poor service culture - officious, mistrustful, and rude on occasions
Review 28:We had a nice balcony view. Some staff were nice
Review 29:Swimming pool needs attention.
Review 30:We were a large group consisting of 4 grown up children and their partners and children and our two younger children, total of 16 including a 5 month baby. The all inclusive was great for us, as it made every ones stay easier. The food was good, room locations on the ground floor around the pool couldn't have been better.
Review 31:That's bad that they don't have free wifi all over the hotel (they have it only in the reception hall). Hotel pub closes everyday at 11 pm and after that there isn't that much to do.
Review 32:I liked the staff, they are always smiling and willing to help. Food was very good! They have entertainment all day long, for the kids also. Everything was near (shops, restaurants, pubs).
Review 33:Food sometimes was luke warm or cold....when meant to be hot; a couple of the "promised" evening entertainment started either earlier than planned or didnt take place..shame...
Review 34:location; friendly staff; the Flamenco Show; varied selection of food- something for everybody; very big apartment with balcony; cleaned every day we were there; not loud
Review 35:I have payed wifi in the room but it works only in balcony and its only for one device Low pressure of water(difficult to take a shower)
Review 36:Very good value for money Very good food Great location Excelent and professional staff Everynight annimation program Very nice view and close to beach Arena Nice garden
Review 37:Restaurant shoud be bigger, at dinner time people have to wait outside. There should be more waiters, they are literally runing while working. Bathroom was in bad condition. No free internet in the room (or at least on the balcony).
Review 38:Staff is very kind. Food was good altough more meat wouldnt harm. Beach is near. Great value for money. Rooms are very good and new (except bathroom). Big flat TV. Parking near.
Review 39:Evening meal not always hot & rather repetitive. Water only for all inclusive guests & not those on half board. Wine expensive if you wanted to buy a bottle. Floors around the complex very slippery even when dry! Bathroom interesting, almost had to sit in the bath to use the loo.
Review 40:Nice view from balcony, good breakfast. On a bus route if needed.
Review 41:Even the beakfast is repetative but it still a lot of variety to choose.
Review 42:The sea view, food, cleaning every day, friendly staff ( specially Sucel at the reception), free and parking availability,Location,,,If I come back to tenerife I will for sure come back to the same hotel.
Review 43:No airconditioning, bathroom not really clean, no parking, deposit for TV remote control.
Review 44:Good breakfasts and dinners, big room, big terrace with nice view.
Review 45:Never enough cereal bowls. Tiles missing in pool. No caution signs or slipmats when heavy storms came.
Review 46:Staff friendly clean hotel. Entertanment quite good.
Review 47:Pool nice but needs retiling as does the sun lounge area. Drainage smelly at times for short periods which the flies must of loved as they stayed around.
Review 48:Staff work really hard to make your stay enjoyable. Food in dining hall good and constantly replaced and always hot. Room basic but who stays in the room when you have a lovely view?
Review 49:Gets quite hot in the restaurant
Review 50:Free wifi in reception area Customer service excellent especially from Jose Luis Half board was lovely Bus stops nearby only€4.30 to Los Cristianos Beds very comfortable
Review 51:No air cond., very hot in the room Noise in the night No remote control for TV No drink water in the room Bad quality of alcohol
Review 52:Animation every evening Ping Pong Clean area and clean pool Good food Good service Nice staff Sunny days Big rooms Amazing area
Review 53:Constant music from 10 till gone midnight. No peace to be had anywhere. No aircon, just a ceiling fan that did absolutely nothing. As it was late 20s at night, I hardly slept. Couldn't have door open because of noise. Some people went and bought fans. Food poor. Very very noisy hotel.
Review 54:Nothing
Review 55:Our room was on the ground floor, we had no AC, only a fan and because it was hot we had to sleep with the windows open so I was constantly afraid and also heard all the noises (people who carried trollers when leaving for airport and workers in the morning. In the bathroom I could see the tennis field from the window, so no shower during the day...The furniture was old and we had a flat screen TV but no remote. No balcony as well and we love to sit on the balcony during the summer holidays. No elevator. Not enough sockets (only 2) and we had a laptop, 3 phones, 2 photo cameras, a hairdryer and a device against mosquitoes! The only source of artificial light in the room was a small lamp and it was connected to one of the 2 sockets so actually we had only one available. Unfortunately too few parking spaces. The plaster of the building and the enamel of the tubs were gone in some places.
Review 56:We chose Half Board and enjoyed the food: simple (not sophisticated), but fresh and enough variety and quantity. The pool was so clean that I saw pigeons drinking water from it! The room was clean as well and the bathroom really big. There was plenty of storage place, towels and even blankets. We rented a car and the placement allowed us to visit many places during our journey. A supermarket is very close to the hotel. We appreciated the weather forecast from the reception and that the personal spoke English very good. The animation program that took place every night was entertaining. A very big thank you for the surprise with the champagne on my husband's birthday!
Review 57:The pool needs a refurb, tiles coming away meant a lot of injuries for the little children. Room is too hot no air con, and the room ceiling fans are clearly just for decoration.
Review 58:The staff were amazing, and a good level of food choices. Squid, mussels, paella, but also chips, chicken nuggets, pizza, and a great salad bar. Room size was good, as was towel changes.
Review 59:Too noisy at night (other guests) small double rooms, tiny bathroom and quite a few other problems such as allocating a double room to our teenage son and daughter on arrival which was sorted out the following day. However we needed to find the maintenance man almost daily to let us into our room as the lock was broken which was inconvenient as we were on the 4th floor with no lift. There was often an unpleasant odour around the pool area ( although it was kept spotlessly clean) and also a strong sewage smell in the children's room which was a 1st floor room. The toilet was also broken in our room and continued to make a noise 24/7. This was reported a number of times but remained unresolved. The food in the dining room was OK but I didn't expect restaurant standards given the price we paid. However my son chose the chicken drumsticks one evening and one was undercooked and the other when checked was practically Raw!! Staff in dining room very apologetic and kind and asked us the next day if everything was OK. Fortunately he hadn't eaten very much and avoided any unpleasant side effects of the extremely undercooked chicken. This was a poor choice of hotel for us but there appeared to many guests who really liked it as it suited their needs perfectly.
Review 60:Sea views, staff and close proximity to road out of Playa de la Arena, family rooms and balcony views. Our rooming problem was sorted out the following day and the room allocated to our teenage children was lovely. Staff worked very hard at keeping the hotel absolutely spotlessly clean.
Review 61:The location was not the best, the nearest town centre is 10 mins walk away, it's not comfortable walk in the hot weather. Far from the port, where all the boat trip starts, had to take taxi everyday. Bathroom is a bit smelly, due to poor plumbing work.
Review 62:Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was alright, something new everyday.
Review 63:no fitness, averige food, noisy neighbors (English people)
Review 64:the place, everything like it was planed with hotel, room was ok (nothing special)
Review 65:paid for wifi not too good.
Review 66:staff wonderful, helpful, efficient and obliging
Review 67:internet bad
Review 68:Food terrible, not much variety and what there was was cold. Pool freezing cold nobody went in
Review 69:Clean, room cleaned daily and fresh towels
Review 70:No fridge in the room, no kitchen
Review 71:Excellent location near the beach (black sandy beach 5 mins walk and Log Gigantes port beach 30 mins walk away)
Review 72:Really nice waiters, good customer service. Well prepared for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of the rooms are with ocean view.
Review 73:The staff and the halfboard...
Review 74:The location
Review 75:There are no comments available for this review
Review 76:Zajos személyzet és hangoskodó vendégek miatt pihenésre a szálloda alkalmatlan
Review 77:Az elhelyezkedése a hotelnak nagyon jó
Review 78:No king sized bads
Review 79:Location
Review 80:pool freezing cold, you should have a rental car otherwise almost stuck in the village
Review 81:Nice staff, food was good, nice new year celebration
Review 82:Food wasn't right cracking not a lot of choice. But you get what you pay for now a days.
Review 83:The staff were very friendly and aways willing to help.
Review 84:No tea/coffee facilities in rooms, or fridge, didn't think it was really a 3 star hotel to be honest
Review 85:food very repetative
Review 86:location entertainment
Review 87:Fridge is really missing from each apartment.
Review 88:Helpful staff, excellent location and view.
Review 89:slow internet
Review 90:good location, near beach. quite place.
Review 91:room is basic, but do not stay in the room :)
Review 92:view, room size, cleanliness, food is ok (fresh fruits, salats and fish), value for money is excellent, playa arena is nice and 4-5 min, pleasent stay!
Review 93:no air condicioned, too hot in the room,,no fridge in the room, conection with internet was impossible in the room,no telefone line in the room, mosquito everywhere,to get tv in the room you have to pay a deposit, and tv was very ,very old and small i could barely see the ball in the football match,,,i think they dont deserved 3 stars ,,,maybe 1 and a half star,,,sorry....
Review 94:the staff was very friedly, and the food was ok,but not vrey clean and too much mosquito and fliers everywhere include in the room.swiming pool was clean and good size.
Review 95:Walls very thin, could hear people talking like they were in the same room, I was kept awake by someone upstairs snoring on two occasions. Maybe ought to invest in different door handles as everyone in rooms around us slammed the doors shut.
Review 96:Reasonably priced hotel, does what it says on the tin. Friendly welcoming staff. Good variety of food for breakfast and dinner (we stayed half board). Good value for money.
Review 97:Food in restaurant bit repeating for lunches and dinners, but for first 3-4 days wasn't noticed , because there was choice of 3-4 main courses all the time...
Review 98:Everything was perfect... Great staff , very friendly, offering extras... Very clean, rooms cleaned every day!!! A lot of clean towels every day ! Stayed in this hotel twice , but really can see improvement since last year visit! Perfect location: lovely beach just max 5 mins walk away, a lot of shops and bars just 3-5 mins walk away, a budget supermarket just couple mins walk away from hotel! Would be back again...
Review 99:Hotel is generally a little bit worn-out, but price/quality competitiveness is great. It would be plus, if room facilities included fridge and air-condition.
Review 100:Almost everything. Great views, nice atmosphere, excellent food.
Review 101:Food will get boring after 5th day, but you always find something to eat.
Review 102:Price and quality relation excellant. Personal was really helpful. Asked room in 2nd floor, extra pillows- got them both. All inclusive is best choice, cause drinks could get expensive. Evening entertainment was nice- parrots show and magnitian.
Review 103:Beds were hard and the second room we were in was quite small. When booking, requested a double room not twin, but had to wait 2 days to move into a double. Wanted to charge 20 euro per phone/tablet/computer per week for wifi, however as the signal in our room showed as weak so we did not take this service. Also charged for safe deposit box. Insisted on you wearing a tamper proof wrist band from arrival till departure, colour coded to indicate whether you were half board, full board etc. The need to carry your own suitcase up the stairs (no lifts) might be a problem for some and lack of air-conditioning in bedrooms might be a problem in summer, the roof fan was fine in March.
Review 104:Helpful, friendly staff. Very clean. Breakfast and dinner were buffets, with wide choice and no queuing for tables or coffee machines. Free wifi in lobby worked quite well most of time. Balcony with excellent sea view in a large majority of rooms. Good programme of free activities/shows. We had no noise problems. While some other hotels in the general area are more central, the hotel is close to some restaurants, shops, tour operators and frequently served bus stop.
Review 105:Hot water wasn't enough to take shower for one person at a time. Have to turn on boiler and wait.
Review 106:We loved the beach view front of hotel, I was just 1 minn walk from the hotel
Review 107:There wasn't anything that we had a problem with or didn't like.
Review 108:Perfect from start to finish. We liked all the staff everyone was so friendly & polite. Was very good value for the money we paid as we stayed in all inclusive. We got a lot of choice of alcohol offered to us, good food as we are very fussy eaters. There was parking available at all times. Also they doing a lot of things for visitors every evening (concerts, shows & more).
Review 109:Noisy rooms. After 10pm guests still shouting with room doors. No elevators. To get to the restaurant from rooms you must go out and around the hotel-no inside connection. No privacy on balcony-everyone can see anyone. Very small CRT TV?! Free WiFi is slow, often troubles with connectivity and available only at the reception (reaching reception is also possible only from outside). In February very cold water in swimming pool (no heating).
Review 110:Good food, very kind hotel stuff. No problem with parking car in front or very close to hotel. Nice, clean and big swimming pool. Enough lounger in front. Always present and very accommodating life guard!
Review 111:* Beds were awful, very uncomfortable! * Never enough hot water for 2 hot showers, let alone the 4 of us! *Dinner was disgusting!! *No hair dryers in room *No fridge *Around the pool they gave you tiny plastic glasses of beer/coke and charged a fortune!
Review 112:Breakfast was ok, you were able to find something to eat.
Review 113:The restaurant, very badly managed, eg, no water one night and the girl said she could get us some and charge it to our room, what a joke,Food was very poor and we had booked half board. We only eat there 3 times, Breakfast was a joke as there was no table to be had only ones that were not cleared off which we had to do ourselves,Bathroom was not ever cleaned properly, twice we got bath mat,Never had the sun on our balcony and we were on block 9,
Review 114:The situation of the hotel was good as we used the local bus service's, We are not people who use sunbeds and if we were the sun was only on the south side of hotel, we traveled a lot while there.Walked a lot, enjoyed the sunshine, Have to say the guy on reception George i think his name is was most helpful,He is very good at his job and gave us a big welcome,This guy deserves a raise in his wages,
Review 115:Free wifi in hotel lobby erratic. No free wifi in rooms.
Review 116:This is a small intimate hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, the food excellent and the accommodation clean and well equipped. Plenty of places to eat roundabout. Puerto di Santiago is a much quieter resort than the main resorts in the south. A must is a walk to Alcala along the coastal path. Good market on Monday.
Review 117:Nothing.
Review 118:The sea view from the room. Also the food was very good, we only stayed for two days but lots of variety. Pool area was very tranquil and loved the sun terrace.
Review 119:It is meant to be a 3 star hotel, yet for the first time in my life I had to spend 10 days on a list for a hair drier ...and never got one! They won't clean your room on Sunday - be prepared. The hotel 'restaurant' is quite small for the amount of people they host there for breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. So, sometimes you may end up waiting for a table, but most likely you will wait for clean glasses, cups, spoons... This should tell you something about the hotel management. Coffee is a disaster. You won't use the pool during your Xmas vacation, as it is neither heated nor situated on the sunniest side of the hotel. The animation is quite basic. The internet connection is free in the lobby but very difficult to get if you have a crowd of people sitting there and surfing.
Review 120:Our room had a very nice view on the ocean, it was a real pleasure to have a glass in the eve observing the sunset. The hotel staff is mostly nice. The selection and quality of food was Ok, except some spoiled bell paper in my plate and totally spoiled ananas fruit on the fruit table...
Review 121:Cold water in the pool. WiFi often has authentication error, should replace the router.
Review 122:Nice quiet place, good tasty food, the best quality/price ratio. We had no proplem with parking near the hotel.
Review 123:Noisy evening program by the pool, luckily it happened only at Fridays and Saturdays.
Review 124:Views to the Atlantic ocean and La Gomera. Breakfast and dinner. Very nice and helpful staff. Big rooms.
Review 125:There are only very few rooms (15%?) like ours was - with terrace on the sunny side, and there is no guarantee you get one. This could be the only reason not to choose this hotel again, but I might still gamble :) Twin bed instead of double (although we were offered a room with double bed the next day - but the room was smaller and we decided not to change) The boiler is too small for two people, although enough for one, and heats again within half an hour. The plastic chairs on the terrace were really not good, collapsing under my weight which is just 80kg... even caused minor injury, but I'm pretty sure they would've been replaced if we asked to.
Review 126:This is probably the best hotel I've stayed at (and I have stayed at some 4 and 5 even star hotels). Fantastic terrace, good location, tasty food (not much variety but just enough - 1 meat dish and 1 fish) plus soup. There was NO smell by the pool, no dirty dishes (well almost, but I've seen much much worse elsewhere). Staff very helpful, but everyone mentioned that already. 3 supermarkets nearby, Playa de Arena also near, which actually looks better than on pictures. No problems with parking, sunbeds or anything. Overall fantastic experience.
Review 127:No free WiFi in the room. But you can use free WiFi near reception. It's not very rapid always -- it depends of number of users.
Review 128:Good value for money. Close to the beach Playa de la Arena -- about 5 mitutes to go. Big supermarket is near hotel. The restaurant food is quite OK. I recommend to book two room apartment -- it's quite better. There a lot of free places to park the car near hotel.
Review 129:No air conditioner in your room, no fridge and no hair dryer (though, you can ask for it at reception desk). Wi-fi is slow, but at least it works. It could be loud on Fridays, because of an evening show for guests. Breakfast and dinner drinks (juices) are terrible!!!
Review 130:This hotel is situated in a quiet, nice and small city. There are a lot of good restaraunts around. Friendly staff. If you are not picky (see cons) - then this is a pretty good place to stay.
Review 131:The heat in the rooms at noon. old furniture and tv.
Review 132:The view from the room was great. the stuff is friendly. They are cleaning the rooms every day. Restaurant is great. any problems- were immediately fixed. free wi-fi at reception. the pool was great.
Review 133:The facilities were poor, we live in Tenerife and this was a 1 night short break; we decided to go home. The hotel was extremely noisy, and we were not even supplied with a pool towel. Other 3* hotels offer much better service.
Review 134:The staff were pleasant.
Review 135:the damned smokers at the entrance in your room you"ll hear the street, your (& somebody"s else ) noisy neighbours, the running water in the toilet...
Review 136:the playa is nearby it's a good startpoint for your autojourneys to any part of this fairy island
Review 137:Food not too warm but there was a microwave Guests hoarding sunbeds - placing towels on before breakfast and then not using them till the afternoon - unfair to other guests.
Review 138:Quiet location Very good staff All rooms overlook pool and sea Walking distance to other resorts
Review 139:no playground and heated pool for young children no comfy bed for young children bit noisy from outside above restaurant kichen
Review 140:good selection of food close to the beach and shops good base for trips into nearby mountains
Review 141:Got a bit bored with the dinners in the evening but that's not really the hotels fault.
Review 142:Very friendly staff. Very comfortable and spacious room/ apartment - even though there were only 2 of us we had a seperate bedroom and full sitting room with balcony. Quiet. Fantastic value. Room cleaned every day. Good breakfast. Great location near the sea. Lovely pool where other guests were considerate of everyone else, that is, no shouting etc. There were young children there but you'd hardly notice.
Review 143:Do not buy Wi-Fi to the room, I've paid for a week and that's impossible to use, since the internet is extremely slow, sometimes without upload at all. Another weak point is that the place is quite noisy, even at night.
Review 144:The hotel is really clean, we had made our rooms each day.
Review 145:Water in the pool freezing. Complimentary wifi in the rooms would benice nowadays.
Review 146:Nice smaller hotel in the quiet area. Rooms are simple but clean. Greatview from the balconies to the Atlantic and La Gomera island. Good food.Very friendly personel. Especially Daniel from animation team. Black-sand beach and some shops, restaurants within walking distance. Overall- very good price - quality ratio.
