Reviews for Parador de Soria
Review 1:Evening meal great in parts (starter and dessert) but overpriced and breakfast certainly overpriced; hot plates only kept food lukewarm.
Review 2:Hotel location is stunning for views (although did not see much in the dark rain clouds of November) but away from town but nothing that a €6 taxi ride could not deal with. Soria is a lovely Spanish town to be explored for a day or half a day.
Review 3:The Parador is on top of a steep hill - not well sited for disabled/ageing travellers, though there were no problems once inside or in the immediate gardens. A lovely walk down but take a taxi back from town up the steep hill (not expensive). We had an unpleasant stay in the Parador in Avila 2 years ago and very poor service in Zafra ( which I used to like the most) last year, so Soria restored our faith!
Review 4:Hotel - the peace & quiet, breath-taking views from the top of the castle hill (ask for room 417); excellent service, cleanliness and a general air of good management. The food is very 'regional'. Soria is a small and charming town - reasonable prices and rather undeveloped tourism. This is more traditional Spain.
Review 5:A swimming pool would make it 10/10.
Review 6:Perfect location, with cleverly designed balconies (particularly useful in winter, I'd imagine). Superb amenities in the room, and an excellent restaurant.
Review 7:Bed less than stellar, a bit lumpy. Some dirt in room.
Review 8:Loved the balcony/porch overlooking the river and hills. Great modern Parador with nice-sized bath and room. The porch with window was a huge bonus. Breakfast was good. Nice town and surroundings. Loved the adjacent park grounds for strolling.
Review 9:Difficult to find. Sat nav struggles with the small streets and the critical signpost does not match the name in the advertised details - needs changing. Aircon is a bit feeble but worked eventually.
Review 10:Staff, particularly receptionist (Alejandra?), went out of their way to help. A good quality hotel in a very pleasant, wooded location overlooking the town which is a short walk down the hill and a 6 Euro taxi ride back up. Free motorcycle parking was outdoors but directly in front of the hotel in a safe area - no concerns.
Review 11:The hotel is modern and very well designed, with lots of spacious seating areas doted around for people to relax and take in the fantastic views of big skies, mountains and countryside. We felt like we were on top of the world. This hotel is perfectly equipped for summer and winter; with closed terraces for winter weather and air on for summer months. A 'must stay, if you are in the area
Review 12:to far away from anything !!
Review 13:This Parador is set on the top of a very very steep hill , it affords Fantastic views of the Town below, rooms were clean , food was of good quality , and service at reception and bars etc. was first class, plenty of free parking.. Be warned however there is nothing around this Parador only a steep road and trees , you would need to be extremely fit to walk anywhere so you need a taxi or use of car to get into town, also the drive to the Parador is quite tricky to say the least
Review 14:The safe in our room was broken. They tried to fix it but could not. They were so apologetic and said we could use the reception safe if we needed.
Review 15:Location was wonderful.it was quiet and beautiful on top of a hill over liking the town. The staff was wonderful!!
Review 16:Long way to get back uphill. Take a taxi!
Review 17:Really good views down to Soria. Lovely restaurant. Nice cafe bar and outside terrace bar. Lots of parking.
Review 18:The place is tired. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Pet hate - no toilet brush.
Review 19:Not a lot
Review 20:Great location! Easy walk to city center and to river.
Review 21:I thought for a Parador the menu was limited.
Review 22:good views, good restaurant, helpful staff.
Review 23:Very little
Review 24:Location and views, pleasant surroundings.
Review 25:On top of a hill and a bit of a climb on foot

Review 35:Location
Review 36:Been once before loved it went back.
Review 37:Stunning views Really luxuriouss
Review 38:The location is good, the restaurant is memorably good and the customer service was of a high quality.
Review 39:Great location
Review 40:The weather ;-)).
Review 41:Quiet location on top of hill with good views over the river Duero. Comfortable hotel which offers cooked food at the bar if you think a 3-course menu is too much for you.
Review 42:On both our stays this time we found the restaurant staff in the evening quite unfriendly. We speak a little Spanish and do our best to communicate, and the menus are in English, but a little less hostility would be very welcome.
Review 43:We use Soria as a stop over and find it and the surroundings quite beautiful. The rooms are luxurious and a welcome stop over. We have stayed at quite afew Paradores through out Spain now and find them enchanting!
Review 44:Air conditioning was inadequate. It did not cool the room, and if you opened the windows to get some air flow, the a/c switched off. So, no matter what we did, the room was too hot to get a comfortable nightd sleep.
Review 45:Lovely location and views. Excellent food and very reasonable prices.
Review 46:Restaurant was once again, highly priced and only poor/average quality. NO facilities at the hotel at all - no gym, no pool, no games, very small bar area, no terrace, not much at all really other than a place to lay your head.
Review 47:Views from room and public areas. Nice walk down to river and nice riverside park and walks.
Review 48:Located very high so a very steep climbed in & out of Town. Stayed at better 4* hotels during our Spanish travels for much cheaper prices
Review 49:Whilst travelling through Spain, booked this hotel last minute &, for a reasonable quality hotel, couldn't get in anywhere else. Breakfast was good but still pricey even at the reduced rate of €12. good views
Review 50:I had ordered breakfast as part of the booking but discovered afterwards that there was a discount offer on breakfast at the time.We could have saved some money by not booking breakfast in advance as we could then have availed of the discount.
Review 51:Welcoming, friendly staff. Very comfortable, spacious and well appointed room, with great views of the city. Very good standard of food at dinner and breakfast.Breakfast in particular offered a wide variety of food for all tastes.Staff provide a very high standard of service.
Review 52:This is a wonderfully comfortable and pleasant place to stay. It's a pleasant walk out of town, next to a park around a ruined castle on a hill, and has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The food is very good (probably excellent: we weren't in the mood for the gourmet meals) and the whole atmosphere is remarkably relaxing.
Review 53:The hotel is situated in the park near the centre of the city, therefore not really accesable on foot. The balcony is closed by windows.
Review 54:Good frontdesk people, as well at the bar and restaurant. The rooms are clean and spacious. The views over the Duero river are great.
Review 55:It was simply not good value for money,The meals were overpriced for thequality. This is based on comparison with other spainsh hotels thisholiday specifically La Mozairia in Alborayah which was rated a threestar but had much better facilities and quality of food . The detail anddesign of the rooms and hotel put the Parador to shame.
Review 56:Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the bar staff, theyall spoke sufficient english for us to be understood with our limitedspanish. The location and the views are fantastic.
Review 57:The restaurant was far too expensive and we noticed no one used it. They should have offered a menu del dia rather than only gourmet menus.
Review 58:The views over the Gorge/river were fantastic. Room was very comfortable and large. Location was ideal for our trip across Spain.
Review 59:Set in a park overlooking the river and town it is a smart modernparador, albeit lacking character or charm. It is precisely what Iexpected to find.
Review 60:This is the 2 nd time that I am staying in the hotel. 1 st time it wasperfect, I had a huge room with double bed and very nice view as I hadrequested. 2 nd time was very bad. They gave me a very small room with asingle bad! The room was at low level although I had requested a roomwith view. Besides, there was no open buffet this time and that is pittyfor me cause I have to be selective for my diet. Finally, there was acouple staying next to my room and they made a terrible noise althoughit was midnight and that lasted for 2 hours! I called the reception forcomplain and he asked me what kind of a noise I hear!!! He said he willinform them but I do not think that he informed cause it continued.
Review 61:The view of the hotel is nice.
Review 62:Signs were lacking in town to show the way. It was very (!!) difficult to find inspite of our GPS
