Reviews for La Villa Florida
Review 1:We didn't realise when we booked that it is positioned at the top of a bank so althogh it is a short walk to town it takes longer getting back.
Review 2:The landlord is very nice and drove us back when we went out as we never had a car. He speaks good English also.
Review 3:handy location for the town. Free parking Friendly hosts excellent breakfast Room had an outside patio overlooking the golf course Hope to return another time
Review 4:We loved it from the moment we got there to the moment we left. We had the Junior Suite which had beautiful decor, great facilities and we felt completely relaxed. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming. We look forward to returning.
Review 5:Maybe the room could do with a paint refresh but it made no difference to our pleasant stay. The tea and coffee provided consisted of 1 tea bag and one coffee sachet. (Which was probably a mistake)
Review 6:Our room was very clean and tidy. The Internet in our room was excellent. The home prepared breakfast was excellent. The owners were very pleasant and the man spoke quite good English. If you take breakfast have it in the main house a very interesting room. Yes I would stay here again but next time I would try not to let the owners dog escape.
Review 7:not easy to find, did not like the smell of incense on the ground floor, luckily no such smell in the rooms. Could have done with a socket near a mirror (for ladies needing to style their hair),
Review 8:very comfortable bed and excellent pillows. fresh orange juice (squeezed) at breakfast, pleasant host.
Review 9:Very accommodating . We were cycling to Paris and arrived late on the ferry. The hotel stayed open to 22.30am to let us in plus put a bikes in a secure shed, so very helpful .
Review 10:A friendly, family owned property with a lot of character - quiet and comfortable room with Wi Fi and TV. Very convenient for town of Dieppe. A wide choice of things for breakfast - not the usual roll and coffee! The home-made yoghurt is wonderful. The property has lovely views to a nice garden and the golf course beyond. My first time in Dieppe I would certainly stay again if I was in the area.
Review 11:The room was delightful. The owners were very helpful. Regarding where to eat, they offered to drive us into Dieppe if we wanted but recommended a restaurant too that was short distance in the next village where we had a great meal overlooking the sea and watching the sun set. Breakfast was great too.
Review 12:The owner was welcoming and friendly. The house was well designed and decorated in an oriental style with very good taste. The breakfast was excellent and altogether it was very comfortable.
Review 13:All good, but I can say the location makes it difficult to walk to Dieppe city center. Also not too much info material available (eg. maps, etc). A bit overpriced I would say.
Review 14:Very nice house, nicely decorated, clean and with all comforts.
Review 15:very friendly proprietor who explained everything to us and was kind enough to pick us up from Dieppe town after we had eaten each evening. Nice quiet location with private parking.
Review 16:Very warm welcome. Delicious breakfast with bio products, homemade jams and yogurt. Very obliging host, booked a local restaurant for us and even offered to drive us there and back!
Review 17:Nothing not to like - but the property is 2 km from the centre of Dieppe so most visitors would need a car
Review 18:This place has it all - lovely quiet setting with rooms overlooking the golf course, excellent facilities including fast wi fi, friendly owners and a really superb breakfast brought to the room on a tray
Review 19:No coffee or milk or sugar with the kettle. Only herbal tea. Powerpoints hugely impractical. Television didn't work - screen had the snow noise effect. Bed felt clammy. No alternative offered to my being unable to order food from outside at 9pm.
Review 20:Spacious quiet room Proprietors tried to order in food for me, but was too late.
Review 21:Room seemed like it needed some tlc. It looked like it had beenremodeled by homeowner. Floorboards didn't match up, mouldingcoming off, etc.
Review 22:Nice private patio.
Review 23:From the moment we arrived we were made made to feel welcome. We booked the 'superior' room with the balcony, it was gorgeous. Lovely and spacious with a sun drenched balcony. The room was cleaned every day with clean towels left, want more could you ask for? We stayed for three nights for a weekend cycling trip. Our bikes were securely locked away every night which was reassuring. The owner made us take his phone number in case we got into any trouble whilst we were cycling or in town-felt like a teenager all over again! Dieppe and its surrounding area is lovely. We are already planning another cycling weekend trip. We will be back!
Review 24:Our hosts could not have been more helpful. They offered lifts to and from the ferry and restaurant and the accommodation was fantastic, beautifully furnished with every amenity available. Well worth staying a little out of the town centre for this gem.
Review 25:slight repairs needed to the floor and skirting board and the outside emergency exit was very dangerous with a considerable gap between the outside patio and the stairs. It was partially blocked off by piece of wooden fencing but this was really insufficient. Dont take children.
Review 26:Genial and helpful hosts and a large room with en suite and separate toilet facilities in a peaceful area easy to get to and from.We enjoyed our stay of two nights
Review 27:A lovely garden to sit in Very comfortable and well presented room Very much enjoyed the company of the hosts, who drove out to bring us back after our evening meal in Dieppe town
Review 28:Didn't have enough time here
Review 29:Well booked this rather late as our plans changed. Having asked if they might be willing to cater for cyclist (which believe it or not is incredibly difficult in France) they came straight back to say no problem. And it wasn’t. From the moment we arrived, our bikes where locked away. We advised we had an early start due to change in ferry times, because of this they gave us a room (Suite) that we could exit early. The room was amazing there was nothing more you could want or need. Once we was shown the room we were even offered a free beer, so lovely. The attention to detail in the room was just amazing. Hairdryer, cotton wool bud’s sewing kit you name it we had it. And believe me after cycling for 45 miles we really did welcome the most amazing shower. It is a little way out of the city maybe 20 minute walk. We must of looked really tired and we was our host offered a lift and did indeed pick us up from the restaurant in his own car, amazing thank you so very much. Would we return without question. Lovely location Dieppe is stunning and this is an amazing place to stay.
Review 30:What else is there not to like!
Review 31:Warm welcome, including friendly boxer dog. Alain, the patron ferried us to/from Newhaven restaurant in town and got us a table in booked out restaurant! Excellent food by the way. Great night's sleep followed by wonderful breakfast in room, including fresh pressed orange juice and home made bio youghurt.
Review 32:The host was always there to help and the rooms were full of character in their décor. One of the most comfortable and clean rooms I have stayed in for a long time. If in the Dieppe area again I will certainly return to Villa Florida.
Review 33:No restaurants in the immediate area, so it's necessary to drive downtown (7-8 minutes) for dinner.
Review 34:This B and B (feels more like a visit with your favorite uncle) was quite nice. A home nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, on the edge of the city has off street free parking next to this modern home chock-full of Far Eastern art and charm. The bedroom was clean and tasteful, the king size bed was very comfortable, our room had a private terrace and a modern bathroom. Our host, Noel, was very pleasant and warm and he gave us a wonderful breakfast. The price was very reasonable. This is the place for you in Dieppe.
Review 35:It was on the outskirts of Dieppe with a walk up which took about 20 minutes. Kept us fit and we got used to the walk.
Review 36:The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The room was lovely, beautiful décor. Quiet road and lovely surroundings. Breakfast was amazing and well worth the extra cost. Although the Villa was on the outskirts of Dieppe the owner did collect us from the ferry terminal and took us where ever we wanted to go to save us walking. Great hospitality!!
Review 37:Highly recommend especially because of hospitality of owners. It is a bit out of town, though we had no problem walking and the owner is always willing to drop you off and pick you up for free. The house is really interesting too, not your usual B & B or hotel. Would highly recommend.
Review 38:Pillows. Not enough shower gel supplied. Awkward to shower as no hook for shower-head.
Review 39:Breakfast extra special. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Cleanliness of room. Price very good. TV & Wi-fi very good. Lovely hosts.
Review 40:I LOVED THE DOG. A BEAUTIFUL BOXER NAMED EZU. AND THE HOUSE AND THE TINY LADY AND THE SOLID HUSBAND. ALL WAS COZY AND SWEET. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST A GREAT BREAKFAST
Review 41:Distance from dining.
Review 42:We usually stay in hotels, so this stay in a Chambre d'Hote was interesting to us. Though the locale was in a suburban area of the city rather than in the heart of things, the house itself and its 4 rooms to let couldn't be nicer or more architecturally interesting. The garden was lovely and very relaxing. The host a delight and the dog very well behaved.
Review 43:No faults found.
Review 44:It was great from start to finish. The 'hotel' is lovely.Unusual and intriguing decoration throughout. We were very comfortableand made extremely welcome. What made it a real stand-out was theowner's kindness. He knew it was our 40th wedding anniversary andarranged for us to have a marvellous meal in one of the best fishrestaurants I have ever been in in over 50 years of travelling theworld. He knew we might want to celebrate with a bottle or two, so hetook us to and collected us from the restaurant and would not accept anypayment for doing so. He even drove us over the route we would have totake early the next morning to catch the ferry to England. We rate La Villa Florida as one of the best in over 20 years of travelling in Europe and N. America. An outstanding find.
Review 45:Paying extra for breakfast.
Review 46:Great welcome. Parking and wifi included in the rate. Good breakfast, this costs extra, but worth it. We have a car, so this was a great place for us. Only 5-7 minutes drive to town centre.
Review 47:We boarded the bus to Centre Ville Dieppe conveniently directly in front of the property. Also, you could take the bus from Gare Dieppe directly to the property. The owners were very helpful.
Review 48:Hard to find,
Review 49:Great stay ,large rooms lovely and warm on a cold wet day
Review 50:Very friendly owners, most helpful Lovely very spacious room Very comfortable bed Excellent breakfast

Review 56:Liked everything
Review 57:Owners were great, large rooms and we had a view of the golf course, tried to get an extra night but they were booked
Review 58:Very friendly and welcoming host.
Review 59:A bit out of town, but not too far.
Review 60:Very helpful host, really good wifi and TV with very large room and terrace.
Review 61:area. owner. breakfast.
Review 62:Breakfast could have been a bit more varied, but that is picking at straws
Review 63:Owners are so friendly and welcoming. Lovely place
Review 64:Easy comfortable stay. Friendly host
Review 65:Lovely people, offering their help at anytime. They really care about their hosts. They made our trip much easier.
Review 66:Beautifully decorated and very clean. Had a sunny terrace with the room and plenty of room inside
Review 67:Very friendly host who went out of his way to help us.
Review 68:Huge bedroom with kind size bed
Review 69:Beautiful location. Very clean and peaceful hotel. The owner could not have been more helpful.
Review 70:Everything: Indian decor, huge bed, outdoor patio, large wet room type shower. Excellent and plentiful continental breakfast and congenial host.
Review 71:The whole experience.
Review 72:We liked the very friendly host and the spacious room with all you need.
Review 73:Owner Room Bed Balcony Breakfast
Review 74:Monsieur Noel could not have been more friendly or helpful..excellent all round !
Review 75:nothing
Review 76:everything
Review 77:Room was a little dark and the smell of incense not to everyone's taste but these are minor faults
Review 78:Excellent breakfast and very good value. We had the junior king size suite and welcomed the space and welcome tea and coffee. Bathroom was lovely and a separate toilet was a pleasant surprise. The private terrace was great for evening sun Alain was a lovely host. There was even a mini fridge!
Review 79:will need a car to get to main attractions of town.
Review 80:Delightful host. Large interesting room. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Some wear and tear evident but acceptable considering price. Great breakfast and free parking.
Review 81:Nothing
Review 82:Everything, nothing not to like. Fantastic hosts, nothing a problem even piking us up from town, no charge. Highly recommended its all and more than anyone could ask for. We will rerurn.
Review 83:If you intend to walk down to Dieppe town centre, suggest you don't wear 4inch strappy sandals as it's pretty steep. Our host did warn me of the incline, so my foolhardiness to blame, fortunately the roads were quiet.
Review 84:Very warm and welcoming hosts, great room with very good facilities such as a duplex seating area and outside sundeck, wifi and minibar. Breakfast was a marvel of fresh pastries with assorted jams, pancakes, homemade yoghurt, fresh juice and coffee; all discretely delivered to our room, we just wish we could've eaten it all! Our hosts suggested a great place for supper and even offered us a lift. Cannot recommend La Villa Florida enough to anyone staying in Dieppe.
Review 85:Nothing!
Review 86:Beautifully decorated and furnished - oriental theme - large rooms and en suite bathrooms, kettle & china cup/saucers provided (unusual in France). Le Patron could not do enough for us.
Review 87:An excellent chambre d'hote. We were warmly welcomed by the proprietor who later insisted that we ring him for a lift back from a town centre restaurant! Excellent and comfortable facilities. A first class breakfast. (A return visit is on the cards!!)
Review 88:Absolutely nothing - except a pity that the two German girls on our landing never left their room from Saturday afternoon until we left on Monday morning - we would love to have met them for breakfast!
Review 89:It was exactly what we hoped to have from a chambre d'hotes - bags of character and very welcoming hosts. Not only did they recommend an excellent (the best?) restaurant in town when asked in advance (my wife's birthday) but they booked a table for us. You probably need a satnav (GPS for our transatlantic cousins!) to find the address. It is almost a gap in a hedge on a residential road but with a gites de France sign to help you. Once through the hedge there is easy parking and a surprisingly modern residential building. We couldn't fault the welcoming reception from the owners or the accommodation - with its astonishing, and unexpected, in France, Indian sub-continental décor. Good breakfast - shared with the house parakeet -noisy but quiet once offered a piece of breakfast pancake (by mine host). Comfortable room with a mini-bar fridge with very fair prices - obviously a service for guests rather than a 'catch your breath' moneymaker like in many hotels. We speak French but I tested mine host's English at our last breakfast and I can confirm that anyone from the UK who is not a fluent French speaker will be welcomed with warmth in English - especially if you play golf! Your host's main gripe is that although "almost every village in Britain has a golf course" (he says) hardly any of his British guests plays the game and his house backs on to a golf course!.
Review 90:Owners of the house so friendly, and generous. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The house itself is a huge architect designed building. Very spacious. We stayed in the Junior King Suite. It was huge, with a fantastic roof terrace, huge bathroom, walk-in shower, lots of windows. Super fast wifi. Mini bar. Breakfast was continental, with homemade pancakes, tea, coffee, jams, yoghurt, rolls and pastries, choice of coffee and teas. The house is very well decorated, and has extensive gardens. Would not hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend to my friends and family. A great base for exploring the beautiful dieppe coastline. The owners will direct you to some very lovely place just a few minutes drive away. The hotel itself was a 6 minute drive from the ferry, but is on the outskirts of the town. Friendly, warm, comfortable and welcoming. Would not stay anywhere else when am next in Dieppe. Thanks for a great stay.
Review 91:The host was very helpful and inviting. The room was large and so beautifully decorated. It was very cozy. The host offered to have our breakfast served in our room - it was wonderful! Thank you! The toilet was in a different room from the shower/sink which was useful!
Review 92:1. One had to drive into Dieppe for dinner 2. Exiting the parking area required some care to avoid shrubs, other vehicles
Review 93:1. Very comfortable and large room; clean and charming; large bathroom; quiet and calm; nice treed view from windows and terrace 2. Helpful host; good breakfast with crepes and homemade bio yogurt 3. Close to the picturesque villages of the alabaster coast
Review 94:This is not a complaint, just a suggestion for possible development. No evening food. Madame is an excellent cook, and a simple evening meal option would be useful when arriving very late, as decent restaurants finish serving by nine p.m.
Review 95:The hosts were very warm and welcoming, and helpful, providing local information, laying out breakfast in our room for an early morning ferry. Private home turned b and b, so the rooms were beautiful: spotlessly clean, decorated and furnished to the hosts' taste, and very comfortable. Balcony with room. Only four bedrooms, so extremely quiet, and away from the noise of the town centre. Within 20 - 30 minutes walking distance of town centre. Price matched quality of rooms and quiet location.
Review 96:Most places close at 2000, although the harbour restaurants remain open. Food generally the same; moules, burgers, salads, steak. My daughter is a fussy eater and lkes chicken, but unable to find chicken on the menu anywhere.
Review 97:Excellent accommodation, very friendly and accommodating hosts, (the owner even offered to taxi us around for free; he gave us a lift to the ferry terminal on departure, which saved around 15 Euros), excellent breakfasts, beautiful grounds and neighbourhood. We stayed in the Yoga Room at 110 Euros per night. Close to the golf course.
Review 98:We liked everything.
Review 99:The owner was very welcoming. The room was lovely and light, with it's own terrace. Breakfast included delicous organic yoghurt and crepes. We were cycling and the owner let us keep our bikes in the shed (which was secure and dry - it rained heavily overnight). Dieppe was a lovely town with a very nice beach.
Review 100:The house needs renovation and it feels a bit overdecorated.
Review 101:It is quiet place with nice garden. You can sleep peacefully. Very good breakfast. Excellent wi-fi. Bathrooms were a nice touch. The owner is welcoming and helpful.
Review 102:t.v. was ancient !!!
Review 103:we had a wonderful room with sunny balcony. Alain the owner, could not have done more to please us, he was very kind and considerate. we would stay there again.
Review 104:The front of the building is a little untidy and the building and gardenneeds to be tidied. It didn't adequately reflect the inside andcould be offputting to some.
Review 105:The owner is very friendly and welcoming and gave useful informationregarding places to visit. The room was spacious and well furnished. Avery welcome, welcome tray was in the room for our use and it was greatto be able to make a cup of tea after a day of sightseeing. The use of aterrace outside the bedroom which overlooked the garden and golf coursewas an added bonus. The area is very quiet and perfect for relaxing.
Review 106:The owners couldn't be more helpful or hospitable. The accommodation was very clean, well presented and parking was very easy. Breakfast was fresh and tasty... Ten out of ten for us!!
Review 107:very expensive for what was really just a bedroom. Windows didn't open. room smelt of incense. bed was uncomfortable, as it was two mattresses put together, so had a dip in the middle. very very expensive for a room in someone's house. breakfast is also extra cost.
Review 108:free parking
Review 109:Breakfast was not included Very spicy smell in the room (special lotusoil) Dog in the house - so not for alergics Very cold room
Review 110:Hotel staff (the owners of the guest house) was very friendly Nicefrench breakfast (fresh bread, coffee, chocolate, juice), but for 6,50€extra Free parking place Big rooms Free Internet connection
Review 111:It is a bit out of town and public transport ends very early in the evening.
Review 112:The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely room, thoughtfully decorated, lovely gardens. Good value breakfast, delivered either to your room or in the living area when you actually want to eat it. A lovely little retreat.
