Reviews for El Marques Palace by Intercorp Group
Review 1:Room required significant repair which should have been done like a few years ago. Stainy bath, barely working shower, very old fridge and laundry. And the was not dishwasher. Missing lamp bulbs and some other minor stuff.
Review 2:Great location, close to Lidl and Super Dino stores. Spectacular view from our room to the Los Gigantes cliffs and the ocean. Great and helpful staff
Review 3:Pool for children was slightly colder than big pool, so little son always wanted to be with the grown ups. I was missing a nice cafe in the area. The area is very hilly- keeps you fit I guess.
Review 4:Amazingly large two bed apartment with a nice large balcony(75 square metre). Apartment (No 309) was perfectly situated for us right above the hotels garage(never heard cars coming in and out), so we weren't stressed about our toddler potentially making too much noise by moving furniture over the tiled flooring. Also really really good was the fact that both Lidl and the Hyperdino supermarket were literally across the road, so it was so easy to get fresh bread every day and to stock up on bottled water (tap water consumption is not really recommended plus it doesn't taste good) which we regularly ran out of. Another great plus are the swimming pools which are both heated. The small pool was just shallow enough for our 18 month old to stand in with his shoulders and head above the water. Nice large Pool towels can be hired and you get the hire fee back minus a cleaning fee of £3 per towel. If you want to go to the sea it's not far either (10min walk downhill to nice beach near the marina)(all beaches in the area have black sand only) All staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. The flat was cleaned to a high standard every second day and bins were emptied daily which was enormously helpful for us (had to dispose of many dirty nappies of two small children). Would like to return to same apartment early next year, unfortunately price in February would be too high for us, so we will have to look around.
Review 5:no bad points
Review 6:Staff very helpful and always cheerful, resort very peaceful. well located for access to Los Gigantes and Puerto De Santiago. but also good local restaurants and bars.
Review 7:Wi-Fi was a bit slow and not available in-room when we first arrived.
Review 8:Good location. Handy for both Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago. Heated pool with plenty of sunbeds and parasols available.
Review 9:Up to two hours bus ride from the airport. But perhaps that's what makes it good - away from touristy clutter. Note, you're better off booking tours at an agency down the road.
Review 10:Beautiful view, magical sunsets and close to cosy restaurants. Spacious and homely accommodation if you want to cook and spend the night in. Friendly staff who try their best to please.
Review 11:Sun not on balcony until late afternoon. No other complaints at all.
Review 12:Apartment was so clean and had everything you could wish for. Huge balcony. Location great for self catering as across the road from excellent supermarket. Walking distance to marina and beach as well as numerous restaurants and bars.
Review 13:The beds are atrocious (room 214) and there is a lot of noise from a local hotel/leisure centre which, added to the bed issue, made it hard to sleep.
Review 14:Good location for shops and restaurants, albeit up a steep hill on the way back. Lovely clean property if a little plagued by ants in the kitchen.
Review 15:Room noise from above, sides and outside. In 225 which has at apex of building hence balconies faced onto neighbours bedroom.
Review 16:Comfortable spacious accommodation. Nice relaxing pool without normal sunbed lottery. Good access to supermarkets and short walk into town.
Review 17:Unfortunately there is no snack bar at the hotel. Reception was not open 24 hours, only does so after October. Pool beds have no cushions so can be a bit uncomfortable.
Review 18:Lovely sea view. Location was good. Hotel was clean. Pool and Pool area was clean. Room was very nice and nice and clean as well. Would stay here again.
Review 19:Unfortunately, there was no pool bar or bar/restaurant which is badly needed. Maybe it is opened during the summer months but found it too quiet during the day !
Review 20:Our stay at the El Marques Palace was very pleasant indeed. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and I was shocked to see how big it was. I noticed on previous reviews that some people had issues with the 'hard beds' but the beds in our apartment no 314 was fine. The apartment was cleaned every two days and the bed linen was changed 4 times during our 2 week stay. A lovely touch when we arrived was the wine with two glasses on the table. The kitchen was excellent. 1 ltr bottle of water in the fridge with washing-up liquid and cockroach spray (but didn't need it). Toiletries also were supplied in both bathrooms. The staff at this location are excellent. If you need anything - just ask! With the apartments surrounded by gated walls and a key needed to enter/exit the hotel made it extra safe. Puerto de Santiago is located on the hilly side and may not be suitable to anyone with walking difficulties but the hotel itself is very wheelchair friendly. At the pool exit, you find a large supermarket Lidl and if you walk up pass Lidl and turn right, you come to a lovely little fishing village - Playa de Arena which has plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, walks and a small beach. Using the back entrance of the hotel, you have another supermarket on your door step - Hiperdino and if you continue down the hill, you come to Los Gigantes which is the more lively villages of the three. With fantastic food at great prices, shops, bars, plenty of entertainment and the cliff walks and views along the mountain range in Los Gigantes are breathtaking. Really enjoyed our break at El Marques - we got this holiday as a late deal which was extra special !
Review 21:Pool area is smaller than other resorts but was not overcrowded so never had to try rush to get sun loungers. the pool area is overlooked a bit by the roadway. having to provide 15 euro deposit for pool towels (refunded on return but still hassle)
Review 22:The spacious balcony, the lovely views (we were in 215 on first floor front line) the free wifi, the kitchen facilities including washing machine, 2 English channels ITV and BBC. lidl store located conveniently 50 metres from site. regular linen and towel changes. the staff at check in were very welcoming and anticipated our needs as a family so well....facilitated our devices to connect to wifi without having to be requested by us
Review 23:bed quite hard and uncomfortable but some people may prefer hard beds
Review 24:Very large balcony with sea views, well equipped kitchen with oven,4 ring hob, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and lots of pans etc, flat screen tv with bbc1 and itv1 channels, air conditioning, very spacious apartment, rubbish taken daily and apartment cleaned every other day,all staff very friendly and helpful
Review 25:The bed was hard but can get used to, floors were cleaned regularly but still dirty if walking barefoot so just wore flip flops
Review 26:Excellent facilities, fully equipped kitchen, pool area fabulous-never too busy, staff helpful and friendly, WiFi hit and miss, morning times best to use.
Review 27:We spent two weeks at El Marques Palace this summer. We enjoyed our stay and can give this hotel our best recommendation, especially with regards to value and location. The rooms were clean, and the pool area was never crowded. We also enjoyed Los Gigantes in general, although it is only for people who are able to walk steep slopes.
Review 28:Location of apartment to far away as my father in law 90 years old and re booked and requested a room level to the pool also this was booked and pay for six months ago and pool bar closed wifi very poor as was tv
Review 29:Nice stay apartment nice
Review 30:Had asked for apartment as high up as possible. Were given one on the same level as the swimming pool, which was noisy! Also, very difficult to get a sunbed. Claimed from early morning. Not enough beds available
Review 31:Very clean, spacious, well equipped apartment.
Review 32:We took room with sea view, we got it with 50 % of this view covered by the road and big antena plate. Noise during the night so you got to close windows and doors on the balcony. No shuttle bus to beach so you have to have a car to reach good beach
Review 33:Good kitchen, big space in the rooms and on the balcony. 2 bathrooms
Review 34:Visited earlier in the year and requested the same apartment. On arrival was given a different apartment A simple email or text saying it was already booked would have saved that disappointment.
Review 35:A quiet, spacious, comfortable apartment with good facilities and a large balcony with a lovely view.
Review 36:Nothing really
Review 37:Spacious apartments with good size balcony with sun loungers. great staff in all areas from reception to cleaners and pool cafe. Always felt very safe there day or night.
Review 38:It would have been nice if the balcony had been a bit more private from the neighbouring ones.
Review 39:Apartment had a great layout and enjoyed sitting on the balcony in sunshine looking at the cliffs and sea. Also very handy for the shops.
Review 40:At top of steep hill, not suitable with anyone with walking difficulties
Review 41:The apartment was lovely and very clean and comfortable. Excellent, 3 bedrooms with stunning views. Balcony still very warm at sunny at 7.30 pm.
Review 42:The ants. There was an Infestation in the 1st apartment in the double room. Also in the apartment we upgraded to, were ants in the kitchen. It was a shame this was the only thing that let it down really.
Review 43:We upgraded to the 3 bedroom apartment with a sea view. The room was fantastic . Clean, modern and plenty of storage space.
Review 44:The wifi in the rooms didn't work - at all. I brought this to the attention of the reception staff several times, but it was never fixed. They did have a functioning network at reception. The shower, while functional was barely adequate. The beach at Los Gigantes is not nice - Playa de la Arena is the one to visit.
Review 45:View over the sea, spaciousness of apartment, pool, staff were nice, very helpful. Playa de la Arena was great, weather was beautiful. Uniformly good experiences in restaurants.
Review 46:We had a 2 bathroom apartment but only 1 person could shower at any one time as water went cold. We were advised to stagger showers so no point in paying for 2 bathrooms.
Review 47:room was next to cleaners room. They made an awful lot of noise for first thing in the morning. Iron could do with upgrading.
Review 48:Cleanliness and view from the apartment. Easy access to back road to reach main restaurants.
Review 49:Bed was rock hard; however, when told, hotel brought a memory foam topper that solved the problem.
Review 50:Great views from our apartment in the front block (2nd floor). Very convenient for shops and town centre. Cleaning staff were excellent.
Review 51:Hot water was very inadequet, no way would it be enough for 4 people (we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment) The repair man made 2 or 3 visits and was eager to repair system
Review 52:Apartment was spacious and adjacent to 2 supermarkets and bus stop
Review 53:Location, close to walk to the next village of Los Ggantes, 5 minutes down the road and 20 minutes back uphill, very steep so not suitable for unfit persons, clean apartment if somewhat dated, kitchen was great but bathrooms could do with modernising, staff helpful.
Review 54:Really annoyed and disappointed that, contrary to what we were told when we booked, free wifi did not work except in reception, reception was not open at all the advertised hours, no dishwasher, tennis not free, swimming and spa pools not heated, one toilet out of action for a couple of days and boiler only large enough for 2 showers at a time despite it being an apartment for 6.
Review 55:El marques is in a great location for exploring the national park, mountains and coastline, not far from the airport but quieter than the big resorts. It was very clean and the apartment was nicely furnished and well equipped.
Review 56:no heated pool ( as yet I understand this is being dealt with) No wifi for over two weeks had to use reception
Review 57:Very good staff Very tidy Very clean
Review 58:The internet connection on the ipad and mob. only worked outside on the balcony. NB. The apartment block is situated high above sea level, which could be a problem for anyone less able to get around, up and down steep hills.
Review 59:The overall good first impression of the cleanliness and quality of furniture, fittings and decoration, when walking into the apartment, followed by the attention to detail throughout our stay by the cleaning staff. Very impressive.
Review 60:The pool water was cold even it should have been heated. The cleaning trolleys were noisy so it was a bit distracting as they started the cleaning before 7.30 am. The beds were not very comfortable and there were problems with wi-fi. However, overall, we liked El Marques Palace and Los Gigantes and we might come back.
Review 61:Our 2 bedroom apartment (217) was spacious, clean and the kitchen quite well equipped. It was easy to cook as there were two supermarkets next to the hotel. The sea view was nice and there was a short walk to the restaurants in Los Gigantes and Santiago. We had a rental car and we could always find a parking lot in the front of the hotel. The hotel didn't have normal hotel services (breakfast, pool activities) which suited well for us.
Review 62:- Low sound insulation, noise in the street in the morning (delivery truck). - WiFi very weak in the apartment (and not always functioning)
Review 63:- Relatively quiet area, close to many key places to visit inTenerife and excursions (whales, walks, vulcano,...). - Spacious, comfortable apartment with well equipped kitchen and large terrace with seaview - Shops nearby
Review 64:Wifi most of our time not working Wifi when working slow No DVD player No Audio in anywhere to play from mp3 player No german tv channel Traffic noise high
Review 65:Very good rooms and kitchen Fantastic view Very good location for sightseeing Good shopping for food Good parking Clean Friendly
Review 66:We booked the largest apartment, but we got the same as our friends, who booked room for two persons:( It is a bit far from the beach.
Review 67:Nice, cosy and spacious apartment, very clean, near Lidl market. Amazing view from the balcony.
Review 68:We visited in December and the poolside bar was not open for 3 out of the 4 days that we visited; not sure why, no explaination was given.
Review 69:well I've been before, twice and it is such a relaxing place to visit. The accommodation was gorgeous with beautiful views across to the sea. Supermarkets and shopping all within a close proximity. The pool was lovely and clean and the cleanliness overall was impeccable.
Review 70:.. the complaint by a reviewer that all they could see was the LIDL carpark. I might have stayed in the same room - there's probably only 3 apartments in the entire complex that could see it. And sorry, but I must confess I didn't give the carpark view the attention I'm sure it deserved. I kept getting distracted by the other 180 degrees over the beautiful village to Los Gigantes and the Atlantic. What a great location!
Review 71:We asked for a quiet location, and unfortunately our room 218 although at end of corridor, was just above the reception area and early morning delivery wagons and voices woke us, with continuous activity every day, which was annoying.
Review 72:The apartments fixtures and fittings, & furniture are tasteful and attractive. Very well maintained with comfortable beds. The location was ideal and we thought excellent value.
Review 73:Numbers of small ants everywhere in the kitchen.
Review 74:Convenient location, big, clean and comfortable two-bedroom apartment. There are necessary kitchen equipment but fridge and cookware are quite old. Balcony is big but only 3 hours per day there was a sun over there. There isn't a normal Internet connection in the apartment but you can get good signal near reception area. I had two contacts with staff - when check in and check out. They are polite, good russian and english speaking people. Two mini-supermarkets are situated near apart. No special parking but you always can find unoccupied place. If you want to reach the ocean you have to overcome about 1,5 km down (return up).
Review 75:While the wifi was free it was not very good and quite hard to stay connected. We were a group of adults and the second and third bedrooms were more suited to younger families
Review 76:The apartments are in a good location with very good facilities and nice spacious lounge and kitchen - all the facilities we needed. Lovely large terrace that was well equipped with sun beds and close to essential facilities with more choice not far away
Review 77:The only minor glitch was the wifi signal wasn't great. It didn't really bother me as I was on holiday to get away but we had a teenage son who would have liked to use the wifi more. But it really wasn't a big deal for us.
Review 78:The apartment was great, it was clean, spacious and modern. We had a fantastic view of the sea and the Gigantes from our huge balcony. The kids loved the pool. It was never too overcrowded.

Review 127:location is its best aspect.
Review 128:A lot of Noise from Builders opposite puting New Lidl Store by El Marques Palace. But we enjoyed ourselves any way. No Issues.
Review 129:Loved the location, Staff are very good and private pool Area was well maintained. Nice Restaurants and Bars a casual stroll away and a supermarket at the rear very handy. Balcony big enough to enjoy the outdoor life style. Well pleased with apartment.
Review 130:Wi if too slow, mattresses on beds are uneven and springy which makes them uncomfortable (but you did provide a mattress topper for the double bed when we mentioned this to you). Thank you.
Review 131:Friendly staff, pool clean and did not seem to have chlorine or not much which is preferable to us.
