Reviews for Lagrange Prestige Le Cristal d'Argentière

Review 1:The main reason we booked wad for the swimming pool and yet this wasclosed for maintenance for 3/4 of our stay, and this fact was knownbefore we booked but was not acknowledged in advance by either the hotelor booking. Com. This is misleading advertising. We could have stayed atequally nice or even nicer places at less cost, had we known about thepool. They offered us a discount of 39 euros afterwards which I did notaccept because it was insulting after having paid 1220 euros for a nonexistent swimming pool.

Review 2:The location is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 3:The necessity to check out from 8 to 10, clean the room, it's quite stressing) we although thought that it could be convenient to have sauna in the swimming pool area

Review 4:Hotel is greately located, the room we had was very comfortable for 3 of us, rooms are large enough.

Review 5:small room to sleep 2 adults if they were bigger is not able to sleep there, this small room without windows is suitable only for children who do not have claustrophobia ... if you arrive adults can not get such a small second room because then sleep in the living room wifi only near the reception

Review 6:swimming in the pool with warm water after a busy day everything compensates pool with views of Mont Blanc very good area equipped kitchen

Review 7:Since they have the credit card details, and the authorisation on the credit card, they try to extract the money for cleaning by saying the place was not cleaned to their satisfaction. Their terms and conditions for cleaning say the floor should be washed !!! Are people there for a holiday or to clean toilets???

Review 8:We were facing the road and railway; there was a little noise. In the night it was quiet though.

Review 9:The pool was lovely and the chalet-style in the apartment. Bus stop at the front door, 100 m to railway station and free tickets for bus and train during the whole stay were very convenient.

Review 10:The hotel was clearly overrated. It was expensive and the price didn't include for example cleaning. If we didn't have done it ourselves it woud have cost 60 euros extra. We got the sheets and towels but had to make the beds ourselves. The apartment was a bit small for us five and it was a disappointment.

Review 11:The location was nice and it was easy to access Chamonix via city train.

Review 12:Wifi only in the reception area is inconvenient and means that it is full of kids all evening! Our apartment was very small so next time we'd book a bigger one. (Said it slept 5 but there were 2 bunk beds in a cupboard sized room)

Review 13:Great location for Les Grands Montets and also for the ski bus for the valley - right in front of the building! Good sized pool.

Review 14:Paid Wi-Fi was only in the reception area No information about the necessity to bring your own cleanig kit (can be bought in the reception)

Review 15:Fully equipped kitchen Two-floor apartment overlooking the mountain Proximity to ski lifts and Chamonix Swimming pool and ski room Very helpful staff

Review 16:Didn't really like having to clean up when we left with inadequate cleaning equipment as hadn't expected it so had to go out and buy cleaning fluid etc - would rather it were included in price even if up to 30 euros more.... And 20 Euros to get wifi only in reception is a bit high price

Review 17:Friendly helpful staff who were very relaxed about the kids around all evening. Spacious reception area and functional, comfortable suites. Lovely location and would happily happily stay there again and recommend it to others

Review 18:Inevitably small rooms, tiny oven, no microwave. No bath.

Review 19:The pool is a treat and the location is excellent: in the centre of the village and a 5 minute walk from Les Grands Montets in ski boots.

Review 20:The pool could have been slightly warmer and the pool shower definitely so but these were minor problems. The room sauna was a nice touch but maybe the €8 per day would put there's off using also.

Review 21:Even though we arrived late due to traffic delays our keys were left for us which helped instantly to put us at ease. This was the theme throughout with everything being easy to arrange. The reception lady spoke excellent English and was extremely pleasant, approachable and assisted happily wit any requests. She I particular stood out as a great rep for the company. The apartment itself was comfortable and clean, although the alcove for the children was tiny and tho' ok for them would to sleep anyone bigger (aged 10). Well stocked with what you need for a weeks stay.

Review 22:Fridge was unreliable and had to throw away salad bouth within 24 hours twice.

Review 23:Easy access, very clean communcal areas and flat. Amazing views to Mont Blanc. Train ticket included in price. Very good parking facilities. Reception very response to requests. Clean swimming pool. Good self catering facilities. Recommended!

Review 24:The living area was great...the downside was that the really quite limited headroom in the shower and on the bedroom level in general was interesting for me at 6ft 3". On a positive note, it amused my wife and daughter and the bed length was absolutely fine.

Review 25:Loved the location being walking distance from good slopes; loved the fact that the bus stop and the station were so convenient that we could take bus or train to Chamonix; loved the 'traditional' style furniture and loved the morning sun on the balcony.

Review 26:We would have appreciate to have "ready to sleep" bed... Swiming pool need some updates. BTW, unfortunately closed on satursday until 5PM

Review 27:Nice hotel, in a quiet but nice village, very close to Chamonix facilities.

Review 28:Bunkbed was 180cm long in a room less then a 120cm wide. The space felt like sleeping in a coffien. We had to put the matracce in the kitchen to be able to sleap.

Review 29:Pool, sauna, friendly staff

Review 30:The wi-fi is only near reception and is quiet expensive. The cleaning should be done by the guests, even if you pay for the cleaning you still should wash the kitchen and leave the room tidy

Review 31:Very good position, bus and train stops are just in front of the hotel. The nearest ski lift is also in 5min walking. Good swimming pool, underground parking

Review 32:To have to go in lobby for Internet connection and not available in room, and not been included in price .Very poor light in lobby at night unable to read

Review 33:Staff friendliness and closeness to skis lifts ,train and buses station

Review 34:The apartment was grubby and the whole place felt run down. The bunk beds were ridiculous, they were in what can only be described as a cupboard, with a curtain for a door, so tiny that my 10 yr old couldn't get into the top bunk at all, and there was a nail sticking out the ceiling just above where his head would be. He said it was like being Harry Potter in the understairs cupboard and had to sleep on the sofa instead. Light bulbs weren't working, the oven door in the kitchen didn't shut meaning it didn't work properly. The beds had to be made up by us, and they had forgotten to provide sheets or towels. The pool walls and ceiling were peeling off and grotty looking. The public areas e.g lifts smelled of urine. It was noisy as the railway tracks and main rd are just next to the apartments. It wasn't a hotel it was like borrowing a flat. And it was expensive, to add insult to injury! Don't stay there!

Review 35:The view of the mountains

Review 36:No free wifi in the rooms. Only payed wifi in the common section... that fact made me feel like it's 2004 all over again... Note, it's NOT a hotel (it's a "residency"). This means you have to thoroughly clean up the room before you leave, wash the floor, etc... we were not informed about that when checking in. We were only told that when checking out, which meant that the unplanned time needed for cleaning slightly spoiled our schedule. "Residency" also means there was no daily cleaning service. You have to throw out your own trash, etc. Sure, some people could be fine with the mentioned drawbacks. However we were surprised having encountered them, as we were under the impression that's a regular 4-star hotel. Well, it's not. I would definitely not recommend this for one or two nights stay. Staying for a week or two might make sense for some, though. The "5 person room" meant one large double bed, one tiny two-level bunk-bed (good for kids, barely enough for adults), and a sofa... a sofa... There was a electrical/fuse box in one of the bedrooms which made constant humming noise + every 30 min or so there was a loud BANG sound coming from that box... This made it a bit hard to fall a sleep even after an exhausting 10 hour hike... The room was nothing like the one on the photo. It was rather tiny for a "5 people" apartment. Water pressure in the shower-head was relatively weak. All in all, I think that for this money there are better deals in that area.

Review 37:The room was clean and relatively comfortable. Close to the city center. Close to train station and bus station (right outside). The room was quiet.

Review 38:The bed needs a new mattress. It sinks in the middle -worn out. No staff when we arrived in middle of afternoon and had to wait until 5:00 p.m. to check in. But it was on our reservation that check-in was 5:00.p.m. We knew we would have to purchase our own paper goods, etc. but it would have been nice to have one roll of bathroom tissue to use until we could get to the store.

Review 39:The location is excellent, close to bus and train. The size of the apartment was good, cleverly designed. We loved the balcony on the front side where we spent a lot of pleasant evenings watching the activity on the street. All in all a good value for the money.

Review 40:We had amazing view. Sitting on the terrace we could relax and watch Mont Blanc and almost the whole Argentiere.

Review 41:Bit close to train line, but it doesn't make too much noise

Review 42:Good sized apartment; comfortable, very close to all facilities

Review 43:Pillows are not comfortable

Review 44:Room is very convenient

Review 45:Dirty water in pool, renters clean property themselves never a guarantee of hygiene. Bugs in bed and bathroom! Outdated kitchen.

Review 46:Friendly staff. Price

Review 47:Relaxing, comfortable, stunning scenery and easily accessible transport.

Review 48:Shame about the internet being reception room only and extra cost - but that's the only bad point

Review 49:Great flat! Wonderful facilities, great holiday

Review 50:One night in the low ceilings and we had to move to a larger apartment (which cost us a supplement).

Review 51:cleanliness

Review 52:location

Review 53:Some of the fixtures and fittings were old and needed replacing No facility to play DVDs No international channels on the tv

Review 54:The location The size of the apartment The view from the balcony

Review 55:The lack of wi if and NO English language TV channels. Heating controls non existent. .MINOR stuff indeed.

Review 56:The location, the size of the apartment, the quality of fittings and the quality of the linen. Loved the pool, in room sauna, the ski locker. Wonderful proximity to ski bus and train station.

Review 57:Small bedrooms No basic amenities - not even toilet paper Furniture not comfortable Smell of chlorine from indoor pool Lounge/ lobby dark and uninviting Corridor lights turned off before we reached our room

Review 58:Access to bus and train Off piste skiing Good nearby rental/ski service Nearby Savoy bar fun

Review 59:Changing room in the swimming pool (need refurbishment). Bed and sheets material where too synthetic. satellite TV not covering most of the international channels neither Italians nor English.

Review 60:Underground garage, swimming pool, view from the room.

Review 61:Hob didn't work towel rail didn't work and lots of hidden extras not clear at time of booking, said sleeps 5 but only suitable for 2 adults plus small children

Review 62:Good location and comfortable bed

Review 63:The power shower in our bedroom didn't work and no-one told us on our arrival. Several trip hazards (broken grates) in the dark underground car park. The jacuzzi/bubble thingy in the swimming pool didn't work.

Review 64:The apartments were very well furnished and homely. The lounge area was cheery with a log fire whilst you did your e-mails. It was very central for ski lifts, ski bus, restaurants and bars. Argentiere is a nice compact village with excellent facilities.

Review 65:Lack of after hours contact.

Review 66:Staff response to issue with keys to room. Room was to be unlocked but was locked, staff had left for day but failed to check that room was unlocked. This caused our frustration as contacting staff was difficult. After some 45min we were able to contact staff and aplogy given by them, internet and car parking offered as compensation.

Review 67:bedroom cramped. impossible to open wardrobe doors and lighting in bedroom v poor. second bedroom - bed too short for my son who is over 6 foot bathroom cd have been cleaner furniture looking a bit neglected reception furniture - cushions need replacing

Review 68:location. good facilities in kitchen. clean linen and bedclothes. pleasant and helpful staff facilities such as fridge, cooker etc in good working order

Review 69:Road noise from "lognon 2 " was very bad almost all the time, because the bridge below is a bottle neck for buses and large vehicles and the railway yards opposite were a construction site from 8 am daily! Since we came for a quiet alpine break we were very disturbed by this.

Review 70:Location / views / balcony / convenience

Review 71:Some equipment not working or defective (however this was promptlyrepaired on reguest) Noise from road outside Size of 2nd bedroom

Review 72:Cost Location Pool, sauna, pool table, lounge

Review 73:The kitchen cleaning was not included in the final cleaning.

Review 74:Location and design of the apartment was great. There was a great view over Mont-Blanc and a nice pool.

Review 75:The apartment wasn't clean Some staff were not very friendly The pool was a bit cold The bedding was dirty (not the covers). The sofa was a very small bed, really only adequate for a small child.

Review 76:The pool The price out of school holidays The ease of location The communal area The facilities were just what we needed

Review 77:Pool table lights got turned off at 8pm.... and thats it!!

Review 78:Absolutely excellent value for money, stunning apartments, very pleasant staff, amazing location given its only a 5 min walk from grand montets cable car! 10 second walk to the bus stop and 30 second walk to the train station!! addition of the pool was great after a hard days boarding!

Review 79:The rooms were functional but were tired in appearance. Some basic things did not work like taps, lights and some sinks leaked. Some items were fixed after noting with the staff. The main downside was the room height. The accommodation would have been more suited to the Seven Dwarfs. No standing in bedrooms or showers. Standing room only in the kitchen or toilet. Sound travelled massively throughout the hotel and parties on the lower floors echoed to the upper levels. All in all a nice location with ample facilities for a comfortable stay, but certainly not 4 star. Hard hats and aspirin required for additional comfort.

Review 80:The location to the local ski areas was excellent. Parking was available at the hotel if pre-booked. A good bus service was also available to the ski lifts. The local village was attractive with a good selection of restaurants and sufficient shops for self catering. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful providing local knowledge when asked. The hotel was scenic from the outside when covered in snow. The pool area was a good form of entertainment for my two children. Views were fantastic.

Review 81:Everything you had to pay extra! No service! We paid 25 Euro's forthe internet and it still didn't work all the time! The worst it didOnly work by the reception! We didn't like this at all!

Review 82:That it was close to the Busstop! It had a pool with a nice viewto the snow!
