Reviews for Globales Tamaimo Tropical
Review 1:We couldn't sit out on our balcony or even stay in our room in the evenings as the disco bar was located beside the 'quiet' pool and music and noise went on from 8.30pm till 1am. There was nowhere else in the hotel to sit with a quiet drink. Pools were very cold and the heated pool was too deep to stay in with the kids, I couldn't even stand myself so there was no fun to be had swimming. There was never hot water for a shower, no matter what time of day. Wifi very slow so no time to respond to emails as 30 mins are consecutive so you couldnt go offline and write reply.
Review 2:That our room was not located overlooking the pool that had loud music on all day and so was reasonably quiet during the day. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very clean all over and apt cleaned frequently. Location good for us, we didn't do self catering and 2 very good restaurants nearby, San Franscisco and Pescador. Lovely walk via cliffs to beach beside los Gigantes.
Review 3:Although the room was cleaned daily, but clearly shows that it was not enough. In the kitchen was a lot of small battles, who walked on the sink, table and cabinets.
Review 4:Location is god and nice, short way to the centre.
Review 5:1.) Very slow WIFI, which works only for 30 minutes per day, otherwise you have to pay for it. I purchased it for one day and it was still slow. 2.) We stayed at the top floor room, which was nice, but bedroom window had a street view, so it was a bit noisy in the morning ( I could hear cars going by and angry staff walking around the floor).
Review 6:Stayed for 6 nights, all inclusive. Good meals: chicken, pork, lamb, plenty of fish dishes. Cheese for red wine, also white wine and sangria. Good local beer. Room: You get what you paid for, so don't expect luxury, but it's nice and clean and almost all the hotel rooms have cozy balconies with the pool view. Hotel: Clean area, nice pool with the bar, helpful staff.OK cocktails in the bar. If you are young and you want to party, then probably it's not what you are looking for. There are some nice bars/clubs around the hotel, but most of the hotel visitors are 50-60+ So it was boring to stay within hotel itself. Other positive hings: Bus stop nearby, Los Gigantes beach within walking distance.
Review 7:Loud music playing at the pool starting from 10am every day; finding parking can be a hassle at night; 30 minutes of WIFI per day in the communal space - comon! Requested double-bed, got two singles; had to pay deposit for TV remote, no sun on balcony
Review 8:Location close to beach and roads to go to other places; close to coastline; Town does not feel too touristicy
Review 9:First of all: I don't know if it was an accident or not, but I think they've tried to scam me by saying I have to pay twice the price from booking.com. Only when I said I have a confirmation they told me this was a "computer mistake", so watch out. Secondly: very, very difficult to find a parking space there. If you don't mind climbing a bit there's more space closer to Lidl. I didn't mind going up the hill, but some people may do. Thirdly: we had ants in the kitchen. Fortunately not a massive amount, but they've accompanied us each day. Fourthly: It's quite noisy from the street and a lot of noise is coming from the patio inside, where loud music starts playing from 21:00. If you like to have a quiet rest then look for another place. Fifthly: apartment felt like there were a million people there before us. Not a big deal, really, as this is a tourist place.
Review 10:Room was clean and that's all good about the place.
Review 11:The animation team were terrible!! It seems that being the loudest is how they try to be the best, if this is not your thing then stay by the quieter pool it was mjuch better. The barbeque area was also very dirty with flocks of pigeons on the tables and eating from the bins.
Review 12:The hotel and rooms were mainly very clean and modern. The restaurant was excellent with a wide variety of fresh food every meal time. The bar was always staffed and the stay was very good value for money. With just a couple of negatives I would still highly recommend this hotel.
Review 13:Smells of drains, crowded pool with guests fighting for sunbeds at 8:30am when unchained and towels left all day with no occupants! Far too many sunbeds you can barley walk around the pool without having to step over beds, never mind push a pram around not very safe or enjoyable needless to say we never used to pool. Lots of stairs so not pram friendly, they had lifts but were often broken and were so small lifts you could only just fit in a pushchair and were always unlevel on entry and exit so I was very cautious about using them! There were blocked drains needing a gully sucker wagon to jet them causing the grounds to smell horrid and flooded pathways with sewage! It was spilling out of the jetted drains and they were left open! The pool eating area tables were grubby and never cleaned. The general clientele was well.....distinctive, constantly using foul language, unruly children and arguing round the pool. The life guard was also playing ping pong on duty with the kids! Very safe! security deposit boxes where a rip off costing €41 for a week! There was no aircon in our room and no bath for baby only a shower however the rooms where clean and spacious..need I say more? Don't go!
Review 14:The fab restaurants in the area, La Pargola in particular
Review 15:The price of my hoilyday !!
Review 16:It was nice and hot and I got to see some old Freind's and meet some new ones as for the hotel it is a 3 star ! And I have been go'in thear 2 or 3 times a year ! For the last 7 years !! It's that good a have take'in all my family aswell
Review 17:No hot water available in the morning for most of our 25 day stay. Reception staff largely indifferent to our complaints about this, one asking "What do you want me to do about it?" . Building work closed the pool near the restaurant. Maintenance work on the rooftop water tanks was directly above our room. TV only has one English language (BBC world news) channel. Wifi only available in reception and not very good.
Review 18:The food and drink are good value if you buy a three day all inclusive package . The apartment was spacious and the maids helpful.
Review 19:The main restaurant was fine with food choices we expected however the Italian buffet restaurant was a big disappointment - the pasta was dried up and the pizza like cardboard - definitely needs improvement.
Review 20:Easy driving distance from where we live in Tenerife in a very pleasant area. The apartment was spacious and the complex offered all we needed.
Review 21:Sun beds were being reserved early but this wasn't a big problem for us as we stayed in April
Review 22:The property and grounds were spotless the staff work extremely hard ,nothing was too much for staff ,great location within walking distance of shops and nice places to eat ,we wouldn't hesitate to return to this property
Review 23:Asked for ground floor for my mother 2 ground floor apartments but initially given third floor, then changed to second after having to be assertive still not great for my 86 year old mother
Review 24:swimming pools
Review 25:- really old and smelly rooms - old kitchen facilities - terrible beds - smelly rooms
Review 26:- price of the hotel - location, really close to los gigantes - swimming pools and nice staff
Review 27:The lot of noise of the music and other guests was disturbing. The breakfast, cooking facilities as well as a lack of sun at the appartment could definitely better.
Review 28:The costs/value and facilities are good. The walking distance and possibility with a buggy to the boulevard and beach is lovely.
Review 29:The sleep quality was very poor. Rooms are very noisy - the noise travelled in the night from the inner courtyard and from the pool area. The main bedroom bed was incredibly squeaky - we had our baby sleeping in the same room and tried not to shuffle all night for the fear we will wake her up!!!
Review 30:All inclusive option was good, hotel is close to everything you need, although about 15-20 min walk to the Playa Arena beach.
Review 31:Two things disappointed us of which only one is regarding the room. We rented an apartment, however we were missing a spatula, as well as washing liquid, a sponge and drying cloth. Luckily we anticipated the latter and brought our own and were able to buy the washing liquid and sponges in the supermarket. The spatula was replaced by spoons and forks, which was not ideal but still workable. The other disappointment was regarding other hotel guests. We understand this is one of the cheapest options and we could expect this, but as already mentioned, we are ashamed of our fellow countrymen (and a few women). They were rude, loud (at pretty much any time, whether it was 10am, 2pm or 1am...) and plain annoying. If you don't understand what we are talking about: then you'll have no problems staying here and will feel right at home...
Review 32:First, the staff was fantastic. We had some problems with the card-key and washing machine and they handled everything marvelously. Second, also about the staff, because we had to interact with them a number of times, we were also the audience to some interactions they had with other guests. Notably their handling of very (very!) rude hotel guests was admirable. We have stayed in many places throughout the world, but for some reason we were amazed at how well and friendly the staff handled everything! We are ashamed of living in the same country as these 'guests' who act as if they own the place and all people. The location is quite good. Puerto Santiago/Los Gigantes may not be within 5km from a highway, but we could easily get to all the places we wanted to from this hotel. Also it is located within a 5min walk to the nearest beach and 15min to another and the harbour. Same goes for supermarket/bakery. The hotel does not have private parking facilities, but then again almost no hotel does. Parking on the street was easy and most of the time we could park in front of the hotel or at at most 3 minutes walking time. However, we visited in the low season and cannot comment on how this is in the high season.
Review 33:Shower cabin was tiny, for a person slightly larger than average literally impossible to turn around or bend in it. No place to store shampoo etc. Just one free socket, we had to plug out night lamp to charge second phone. Just one bed side table. Beds are two twin beds (quite big ones) pushed together, which is not usually a problem, but here one was several centimeters lower than another.
Review 34:Price. We knew we will use hotel room mostly for sleep and shower, for that this hotel was the right choice. Location is good for driving to anywhere on island, restaurants and shops are close as well. But if you look to spend more time in hotel room, this may not be the right place. Room was big. There are rooms with and without balcony, we got one without. It would be perfect if you need to have extra bed, otherwise big space is mostly useless. Better to have balcony instead. There are enough dishes and pots to make simple meal for 2, but for some reason no tea spoons. Also don't forget to bring kitchen towel and whatever else you need to wash dishes.
Review 35:Asked for a room with a view and got room 404 with no view of the pool area at all, very large tree in front which made room very dark. Pool area very cramped and noisy. Outside wire fencing made you feel like you were in prison. Reception staff very unhelpful.
Review 36:As a late deal price was good, bathroom very clean, room service great.
Review 37:Too far out, very noisy, be prepared to get up by 8 am to reserve a sun lounger in high season. Very butlins by the sea and make sure you pack your football shirt!!
Review 38:Good value for money, clean, friendly staff. Great for a base and a bed but hire a car!
Review 39:Room was close to kitchen and workers did talk and smoke half of night behind our window. Parking not possible. No beach. Night time can be noisy.
Review 40:Breakfest. Availabilty of activities. Room size. Availabilty of kitchen.
Review 41:crowded pools, sunbeds constantly occupied hubbub , poor sofa-bed, poorly equipped kitchen, no towel drying line on my balcony
Review 42:air-conditioned room, nice town
Review 43:There is no beach close to the hotel. Night shows mostly inside the bar and not enough places for all people there. Would be much better if all shows were at the swimming pool area. Much cooler there and bigger space for people.
Review 44:We liked food, we liked the big territory, we liked swimming pools, we liked evening shows.
Review 45:Bit of a scrummage for the sun-beds in the morning
Review 46:This hotel catered for all tastes and it was hard to fault. Good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Great value for money all round.
Review 47:The reception staff including the assistant manager were rude and abrupt. They had no people skills in dealing with issues or valid complaints.
Review 48:Location was good
Review 49:Room was above pool bar which had karaoke on till twelve pm not every night but still quite noisy overall
Review 50:nothing , all good
Review 51:excellent short break before christmas
Review 52:Loudly place till night_a lot of drinking people. Arrogant managers personel. The maids do not knock the room.
Review 53:Reception 5 stars very good service.
Review 54:bad free wifi connection, only 30 min / day and poor quality
Review 55:well situated location, lot of very helpful staff
Review 56:How much i had to pay !!
Review 57:It was nice and hot and some of the staff ? Only the o es that remember'ed me
Review 58:not very comfortable bed, took a little tastier dessert, but the food is awersome
Review 59:everything is wonderful
Review 60:Better food choice for the kids w
Review 61:It met our needs for sun and cheap holiday
Review 62:double bed is not made out of twins bed put together, shower was too small and not every room has a bath
Review 63:location and swimming pool
Review 64:staff and food.
Review 65:location and pool.
Review 66:pretty steep streets
Review 67:quiet place this los gigantes, nice hotel with nice pool area. Lots of entertainment.
Review 68:Bit basic in rooms, poor utensils in kitchen, wifi poor,TV poor picture and channel selection, not enough parasols,
Review 69:It's location , pools, room cleaning service, restaurant,
Review 70:Insufficient sunbeds with adjustable backs; people bagging sunbeds then not using them all day; free wifi not always reliable.
Review 71:Helpful staff; was upgraded from a studio to 1 bed apartment; courtesy room available to shower and change on checkout day
Review 72:For the first night we were given a horrible stinking room on the fifth floor by the elevator with bars on the window. Hotel claimed they are fully booked but we had a reservation for a room with a balcony and made it two months before arrival. Next day we got a new room a better one but close to staff entrance and a compressor so it was a bit noisy sometimes. The bigger problem was that there was not warm water for 5 days! And they did not do anything about it except giving us lame excuses.
Review 73:Location is great, Puerto Santiago is always sunny and perfect base for trips to the park and other parts of the island. Lot of restaurants and bars around to enjoy good espresso. Room is clean and cleaning ladies are nice.
Review 74:When booking we requested a south facing top floor as we suspected the rooms would be cold without sun during the day. (Which the hotel stated they would try and accommodate) We were allocated a north facing apartment with a balcony which did not receive sunshine at all and as a consequence the apartment was cold. Again, we didn't mention this as we had already settled, however, from our room we could see unoccupied rooms on both other wings of the hotel but as we had only booked three nights decided to stay put. We also noted the apartment had built in air conditioning/heating equipment which we could not operate. When we asked staff they stated it was inoperative. Cold stay at this hotel
Review 75:Evening meal for €13 included a free complementary breakfast which was excellent value. The main course was salty for our taste but can't complain because we didn't mention or ask for an alternative.
Review 76:The room was very dark and the beds weren't very comfy.
Review 77:The cleanliness of the hotel was fabulous. The bathroom in the rooms were brilliant especially the walk in showers.
Review 78:I was put in a studio room on the top floor without a balcony, which wasclearly indicated on the booking paperwork I received. This happened toanother guest I spoke to. After asking for a room move, I managed to geta room on the ground floor three days before my holiday ended. The staffseem to "try it on" to see if they can get away with this sortof thing. Definitely wouldn't stay there again because of this andthe difficulty with transport trying to get around the Island forsightseeing etc.
Review 79:Lack of privacy (ground floor appartment) TV with no decent channels, hard to park a hire care. Set up for all inclusive holidays so facilities for self catering are very poor.
Review 80:Good reception area with free wifi, helpfull staff, Close to route 66
Review 81:Having stayed there twice before this time I ended up in the 5th floorand the rooms there are just single rooms with no balconys with the bedand kitchen in the same place it was not a great problem as had nointention of staying in the room for any great time but having a balconyand seperated bedroom the twice before it was a bit disapointing
Review 82:The location as I have stayed there before its right in the middle oflos gigantos and playa arena and perfect for the local bars andrestaurants
Review 83:Wi Fi very poor Didnt like been on the lower floor Didnt like finding a cockroach in the apartment when we moved in. We had no TV Charge for safe too much
Review 84:Comfortable bed
Review 85:The room was with a view to a parking lots. There was no room service at all. Second day we got a visitor- a giant cockroach. The kitchenette asks for a refurbishment. No Tea/Coffee Maker although they state opposite. Screaming kids in a corridor.
Review 86:Close to Los Gigantes.
Review 87:The room was above the resort bar/club and was impossible to sleep before midnight every-night for 14 days. The room was vibrating with the bass of the music and i could hear the whole room of people talking and singing.
Review 88:The weather and location.
Review 89:I didn't like the actual toilet but im sure it could have been justours.. I didn't like the quietness of the area in comparison to loscristianos and the distance to the airport and lastly I didn't findany watchable stations on tv as I don't drink alcohol a nice movieto watch at night time even by rental would have been very benefical.
Review 90:I like the colours of the rooms the balcony view of the pool and treesimmediately outside. I liked the look of the entire hotel and I likedthe feel of it. I really like this hotel and id stay again. Mygirlfriend loved everything about it and couldn't flaw it.
Review 91:Hotel very busy over easter weekend. Shortage of sunbeds on these days. Plenty on other days
Review 92:1 Bedroom apartment was a really good size, sofa beds made up into full size beds and were fine for our teenagers.
Review 93:It´s the most awful hotel we´ve ever stayed in. The whole night messaround the hotel, vandalism, shouting and crashing the cars in thesurrounding were the sounds we listened both nights, we couldn´t closeour eyes (where was the police?) Pool not possible to use (cleanless).Awful beds for children, the blankets unclean. Hardly waited to go out.
Review 94:Too busy, usual problems with sunbeds, hotel entertainment very bad!First room very bad however they did move us as soon as we complained. The location was not great for a family with teenagers
Review 95:It was a lively hotel, children liked it, staff helpful, budget-friendly. Next to some very good restaurants.
Review 96:Dont book this hotel!!! Wepicked this hotel for a last day of our trip-vacation on Tenerife. What attracted me was an offer (from 140,00 € -50,00), decent pictures of booked facilities. The also stressed thatthe room has a mountain view. Boy were we wrong. They dumped us in theroom with a view on a wall and parking lot. The room was way off thenthe room on pictures. Stuff couldnt speak englesh and where rude. Foodwas crappy.
Review 97:I could park my car close.
Review 98:Roads around the hotel are all slow and windy so if you are planning to do a lot of travelling around the island it is better to choose somewhere closer to the motorways. The nearest beach to the hotel was constantly closed in winter so we had to walk to either Playa de la Arena or Los Gigantes which was not far (about 15-20 min if walking fast) but with small children can become a problem. All the beaches around there have no wave breakers which was fine for us but again would be a problem with little ones.
Review 99:Great value for money particularly in self-catering. Cosy little town of Los Gigantes with its beautiful rock cliffs and a black sand beach is within 15 min walk. Heated pool in the hotel was convenient for cloudy days (we had 2 of them in 2 weeks in January). It is possible to hire tennis rackets and ping-pong bats for a refundable 5 euro deposit in the hotel. There's also a pool table (1 euro a game). Nice shows in the evenings (parrots, snakes, circus acrobats, dancers) for free.
Review 100:Not strictly a dislike but feel the rooms need updating i.e. it was like stepping back ten years, also there is no grill or oven facilities and would have liked sky tv.
Review 101:Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 102:Very nice place. Thanks
Review 103:No option to use the pool before 10 am. The entire facility needs an update in rooms, bathroom and pool area.
Review 104:Pool, friendly staff.
Review 105:Poor internet
Review 106:Nice pool
Review 107:Nice and friendly room service , reception also friendly and helpful , clean, very good service, entertainment
Review 108:3 star hotel, good value, food ok, location great, overall a 3 * hotel with facilities to match.
Review 109:small drinks measures
Review 110:location pool facilities staff snacks
Review 111:Everything, staff, entertainment. Excellent value for money
Review 112:Cucaracha-bug in buffet.
Review 113:no big bed
Review 114:space
Review 115:Beds were very uncomfortable.
Review 116:Great location.
Review 117:The sofa in the living room was very uncomfortable, it was practicalyunusable for sleeping.
Review 118:Good location, good price value for money.
