This chalet is below the famous ski area of the Grands Montets and at the starting point for a range of hiking trails. Its spacious rooms (some with mezzanines for families) have a view of Mont-Blanc or the Glacier of Argentière.

In winter warm up in the bar with a drink next to the fireplace, or play a game of pool. In summer, guests can enjoy the large terrace with lounge chairs facing Mont Blanc.

Reviews for Les Grands Montets

Review 1:It looks like the hotel needs to improve maintenance - maybe they do it towards the winter. At the time of our stay, everything exists but many things o not function well.. from the TV (no English channel working), to broken toilet seat and broken equipment within the sauna.

Review 2:- Breakfast - stuff - Sauna and spa area - Parking

Review 3:Breakfast was very good, but for other meals you need to head into Argentiere (walk) or Chamonix (drive)

Review 4:Friendly, helpful staff. Alpine decor. Outdoor jacuzzi and large garden. Very handy for cable car.

Review 5:First class boutique style hotel: friendly, professional staff offering faultless, low key service. Location and view of Mont Blanc are unbeatable. Rooms and beds very comfortable and breakfast is something to look forward to every day. Can't wait to return!

Review 6:almost can not think of anything. In the rainy day the hotel should consider opens the steam room and in the morning as well as the guest can not go outside.

Review 7:Convenience location. Only 3 mins walk to the lift for ski or walk. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is excellent, variety with good quality (ex. ham, bread). Jacuzzi outdoor is fantastic and I like that they keep improving the quality of the hotel. We are staying at this hotel 3-4 times per year for summer hike and ski.

Review 8:No tea, coffee in the room. Mini bar could be stocked better/more.

Review 9:Awesome location. Good interiors. Good massage, sauna and jacuzzi. Great views. Decent toiletries.

Review 10:Not a major problem, but i don't see the need of so many fake-leather and fur pillows on the bed. They arguably look nice but are completely useless. I suspect in most cases they end up in the wardrobe for the whole length of stay...

Review 11:Excellent breakfast

Review 12:Too hot & stuffy in the room with 2beds upstairs (but weather was very hot when we were there)

Review 13:Fantastic place to stay - ask for a room overlooking mont-blanc as wonderful views. We all agreed (myself & 3 teenagers) that they had the best breakfasts we'd ever had. Hugely comfortable, wonderful pool & jacuzzi, & helpful & informative staff- would highly recommend & hope to return in the winter one day.

Review 14:No tea & coffe facilities (kettle) in the room. WiFi reception was poor in our room.

Review 15:Great breakfast; good staff; SPA is good. Rooms are large with big balcony; Great view if you get a room on the right side

Review 16:Nothing negative to report.

Review 17:This hotel was one of the most restful places I have ever stayed in. The whole atmosphere, from the beautiful woodwork and alpine decor, to the facilities, staff and ambience plus its location made it a very special place.

Review 18:Check in was confusing because of room designation and rate differences. Sandra was willing to work with us in a professional manner and resolved the misunderstanding. The older woman's aggressive/defensive attitude was not welcoming.

Review 19:We liked that we were within walking distance to lift, Grand Montet leading to scenic hikes. Also, the hotel issued free bus tickets. We were able to visit Chamonix without dealing with parking challenges. The views from the hotel and pool area were great.

Review 20:WiFi a little slow - nothing else to criticize

Review 21:Nice room, nice spa, very good breakfast, it is very good value for money and I can definitely recommend!

Review 22:The fact that a friend couldn't enter for a drink. As a resident I thought that was poor. Bathroom was very dated.

Review 23:Beautiful decor in the main hotel, generally friendly staff.

Review 24:The only thing I could mention is that our room didn't have a stand up shower but only a hand held shower, however, our friends in the next door room did have a proper shower. It didn't overly matter though especially as everything else was perfect.

Review 25:The location of the hotel is ideal for the lifts and bus stop/station which was only about a 5 min walk and for the nursery slope Les Chosalet which is a 5 to 10 walk the other direction-10 mins if walking in ski boots! The staff were all fabulous and so friendly. Breakfast was self service continental buffet and they had an amazing choice. We loved it. Rooms were warm and great and had a balcony with spectacular views. Beds were huge and extremely comfortable. Pool and gym were fab as was the steam room and sauna. The hot tub was brilliant offering warmth while looking out onto snow and mountains. The bar area was cosy and well decorated with a log fire in the middle. We all commented how happy we were there and would gladly stay again.

Review 26:- small choice of restuarants in Argentiere

Review 27:- very close to slope - mountain view - very helpful staff and consierge service (restaurants, skipasses) - intersting interior design - fasilities like outside jaccuzi and fireplace room

Review 28:SPA needs a little cosmetic renovation, ski locker is quite cold (it warms boots at the night, but at the morning they are quite stiff because of temperature). If you travel without a car - dinner in places other than Argentiere can be a pain in the ass.

Review 29:Fantastic location - just 100 meters from 2 ski lifts on the best ski area for skilled sportsmen in the valley - Les Grands Monets, beautiful rooms and best breakfast in France. Personnel is really friendly and helpful (hi guys!). We've been there few times and definitely will come back again.

Review 30:The hotel was great value for money, good facilities (especially the hot tub and heated pool. Well positioned for easy access to all the ski resorts in the Chamonix valley. This was our return visit as we enjoyed it here so much the first time - and t won't be our last visit!

Review 31:Wifi was a little weak in the room.

Review 32:Loved Everything! Exactly as pictured and described, even closer to the base area of the ski lifts than I had thought. Easy to get to, beautiful building in Chalet style, excellent spa with covered outdoor jacuzzi! Staff was very friendly and english speaking any time needed. I would stay here again in an instant. Highly recommend!

Review 33:- the lack of a restaurant which is not ideal for a hotel quite far from the city-centre - a balcony overlooking a car park

Review 34:- beautiful decoration throughout - the pool, jacuzzi, sauna : comfortable and pretty - the friendly staff - the very short walk to the lift

Review 35:No negative issues at all.

Review 36:Very comfortable beautifully decorated hotel, with excellent views and facilities including swimming pool and fitness centre. Service first class. Very welcoming and efficient personal service from all staff. Terrific location. Highly recommendable.

Review 37:Frankly the room was a little disappointing for a 4 star hotel, particularly the bathroom. Decor was tired and some things in the bathroom, such as the bath taps, were not functioning properly. We were in a classic room, the cheapest.

Review 38:Great breakfasts and spa facilities. Restaurants in Argentiere are very good.

Review 39:The sliding doors could do with some oil on them as they are very noisy and do wake you up!

Review 40:Stunning location and views of the mountains. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of food for breakfast was excellent. Bathroom was getting tired and could do with an update but would certainly stay again.

Review 41:Orange juice at breakfast wasn't very good

Review 42:Duplex family room was perfect - kids upstairs and adults downstairs Comfortable beds Good breakfast Nice bar area Beautiful pool area though we didn't have time to try it Proximity to the cable car

Review 43:No dinner facilities (but plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and staff will gladly make reservations for you) A bit outdated here and there

Review 44:Location away from the main road Good facilities Great breakfast Nice an spacious lawn

Review 45:Room needs some updating. Hard to use power outlets, bathroom is more like a 2 stars.

Review 46:View,view,view. Price is right consideting the area . Breakfast is great, top quality .

Review 47:Bar snacks would have been good

Review 48:The steam room, blub blub outside.

Review 49:Excellent breakfast - very helpful staff.

Review 50:Friendly staff and great facilities. Lovely views from the balcony.

Review 51:Beautifully set out, very relaxed and staff were very friendly

Review 52:Shower

Review 53:Quiet

Review 54:Beautiful location, very nice staff!

Review 55:It would be great if the breakfast were available earlier in the morning!

Review 56:A beautiful hotel in every possible way.

Review 57:Fantastic location. Great beds. Really clean room. Wonderfully low key buy attentive service. Just a great hotel.

Review 58:International newspapers

Review 59:Its 7 min walk from the centere of the town

Review 60:Its a great hotel. I loved everything

Review 61:Double bed was two beds joined

Review 62:Friendly and helpful staff . Very nice buffet breakfast

Review 63:Option for evening meal

Review 64:Everything (almost)

Review 65:no restaurant no snacks in the hotel, next restaurant in the evening too far for walking after sauna or wellness

Review 66:nice spa, familiar staff, nice bar

Review 67:Very quiet, lovely sitting area with log fire, great buffet breakfast. Very convenient for Grand Montets lift.

Review 68:mountain view, silence, in immediate proximity to cable car and restaurants.

Review 69:The hotel looks a little tired in places

Review 70:good location Quiet but close to village

Review 71:Good location

Review 72:Wifi a little too slow.

Review 73:Veery comfortable. very helpful and friendly staff. Info provided was excellent. location superb.

Review 74:The bathroom needed some updating and the shower was difficult to use as it was hand held.

Review 75:The View is good and the room is clean and relaxing. The staff is nice, especially sandra is very helpful. The location is so closed to grant montets so you only need to walk for 100m to the lift. Recommended.

Review 76:The contact between all staff (especially manager) with us was appalling. A great shame as the hotel is fantastic. With this in mind I will not be repeating.

Review 77:The option of a restaurant at the hotel for an evening meal would be good. Breakfast is included and is a good continental breakfast.

Review 78:Very good spa facilities to relax in afters a days skiing. Very close to the ski lift and walking distance to the village for a selection of restaurants.

Review 79:We were disappointed that we were unable to sit and chat by the fire after returning from dinner as the bar closes so early and all the lights are switched off. The mini bar in the room only has one bottle of beer in it so we couldn't sit and share that either, as there were seven of us.

Review 80:A beautiful hotel with fabulous facilities, gorgeous smell in the rooms, wonderful spa, tastefully decorated and furnished, really helpful staff, loved it.

Review 81:Breakfast I found quite basicOverall, the hotel is a bit too expensive, probably due to the location.

Review 82:Good location next to the GrandS Montets tele-cabine; big and cleanroom, comfortable bed. There is a nice pool on-site, with jacuzzi . Ihad to leave a car in Argentiere after staying in the hotel, and thestaff proposed me to leave it in their garage free of charge, whichwas very nice

Review 83:Wifi not working in the bedrooms. Getting chased out of breakfast too early. Shower was a little awkward to use.

Review 84:Staff friendly and helpful, swimming pool/hot tub, the views, the bar. Central location for doing other activities. Comfortable rooms with a fridge.

Review 85:Our room didn't have a shower curtain, and I'm not too into baths. It is a 20 minute bus ride outside Chamonix, so not too easy a place to be based if you want to do stuff there.

Review 86:Great facilities and staff. Fantastic pool and hot tub, and a wonderful breakfast

Review 87:Some rooms had black/red bed covers and decoration which somehow did not fit the place or any one's taste.

Review 88:An excelent option for those seeking accomodation out of larger towns, cloae to nature and in this case to mountain activities during winter or summer.

Review 89:Ski room is tight, garbage from boxes is not collected when guestschange. Bathroom - old fashioned, bathrobes are provided for extra 8euro only, there was no hotel slippers in our room (although otherguests weared them), ventilation is not in function, is possible tosleep only keeping balcony doors opened. Hotel don't haverestourant. Not big problem taking into account that there are goodplaces to have dinner in the village, but for breakfast worm meal is notserved. I would also would like that tea or drinkable water would beavailable in spa area.

Review 90:Exelent location (only about 150 meters from lifts), nice interior andspa, nice views from the rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Familyrun hotel.

Review 91:Gave Amex for holding reservation and within a day, not only the entirecost of the stay but also a 3% commission was charged to our Amex card. They claimed that there was a note somewhere that this 3% commissionwould be charged, but if there was it was not obvious. When I said thatI could easily give a visa card for payment, their reply was that theycould change it if we paid an additional 3% commission! Also, if you arevery tall (over 6 feet), you will be ducking through the front door andlobby to avoid the low ceilings.

Review 92:Nice bedding, pool and spa area. Wonderful location and views.

Review 93:As it was a cold day, the heating was not working well, and despiteseveral layers of blankets, and the heating to the maximum, we feltcold overnight. We were not allowed after checkout at the end of theday to go back and enjoy the spa/wellness area, due to apparentlyinsurance coverage. We would have hoped after a ski day to be able toenjoy it. Too sad.

Review 94:The location was just next to the ski slopes of the Grands-Montets. Veryconvenient parking. Nice buffet breakfast Room was sizeable andconfortable, though the heating was not working well.

Review 95:Wifi requiring a password every 5 minutes, need taxi to go to chamonix, staff forgot to put our champagne in fridge although we specificallyreminded them, unfriendly staff

Review 96:Location, beautiful rooms, nice spa

Review 97:The WiFi does not work properly. They say it will be fixed - but when? It didn't work at all in the room and was occasionally interrupted in the common areas. The hotel is too far from places to eat unless you have a car and taxis are very expensive!

Review 98:Hard to say. The area is totally spectacular! The hotel is very close to the main cable car and is nicely decorated. The staff are generally pleasant and helpful.

Review 99:Having to wait for the spa facilities to open at 4pm especially when the misty conditions kept us off our skis and we could have spent the day relaxing in the hotel. Only the pool was available.

Review 100:Excellent location for skiers/boarders as very close to the Grand Montets Gondola and chair lift. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant.Hotel was cosy and quaint with nice seating area in lounge to relax. Breakfast was lovely....plenty of choice and not too busy.

Review 101:There is no restaurant in the hotel, so if you'd like to grab a bite after breakfast you'd need to get it from somewhere else. The sauna and the steam room are not hot enough, when sitting on the top shelf our legs were getting cold, so we only visited these facilities once.

Review 102:The hotel is located within a short walk to the ski lifts which is very convenient. It features very nice and cozy interior, we had beautiful mountain view from the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 103:The only one thing I would have liked is for evening meals or snacks to have been available.

Review 104:The hotel is located about 5 miles away from busy Chamonix, in Argentiere, a quiet village with a nice atmosphere. It is literally yards from the cable car lift and lovely hiking trails. The interior of the hotel is really beautiful, cosy, stylish and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was excellent - the same thing each day, but a great variety of foods. The swimming pool is of a medium size, but ideal for a leisurely swim after a long hike. There is also a hot tub outside, with views of Mont Blanc. The staff were friendly but unobtrusive, very helpful in giving guidance.

Review 105:Everything from the stay to the leave. The veiw was spectacular specially during summer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wish I stayed more than one night

Review 106:Wifi was awful, and not everyone in staff was willing to help on this.Very good quality breakfast, missed some fresh vegetables and is thevery first french hotel without foie de canard.

Review 107:Relax facilities, confort, breathtaking views, alpine style, familiarstyle business, good beds, big room, good quality breakfast, helpfulstaff, near Chamonix. Very recomendable to enjoy Alps with quality.

Review 108:- The treadmill in the gymnasium needs to be replaced- the bathroom of our room needs some care in one specific area and a bathroom curtain would be nice!

Review 109:- The hotel is really great. It´s a little charm hotel with great environment, location and facilities- the swiming pool, the jacuzzi, the room, the common areas, the decoration - the breakfast - very clean - free parking - good acess - must be really great to take a whole family

Review 110:We recommend to confirm before the stay in this amazing hotel exact roomyou would like to receive. Unfortunately we had no room neither MontBlanc nor Argentiere Glacier, how we ordered through the booking system,we had a view to parking place in front of the hotel.

Review 111:Very nice stay in this traditional place. Beautiful hotel, good meal, very kind staff, fantastic old countryside architecture.

Review 112:Quaint alpine resort with spectacular views of the Alps. Also very nice that it's a ways out of Chamonix proper though a 10 minute drive to shops and restaurants, etc.

Review 113:فقط يبعد عن سنتر شاموني 10 دقائق بالسيارهIT WAS DRIVE 10 minute TO THE CENTER OF CHMONIX

Review 114:Comfortable,,,It was luxury and relaxing and always clean. فندق ممتازجدااا رائع بكل ما تحمله الكلمه من معنى انصح به و بشده و قريب منه تلفريكياخذك الي قمه جبليه بعز الصيف

Review 115:Perfect location away from the busy centre of Chamonix, near to cable car to glacier, free bus transport to centre and back, lovely views of the mountains (watched the sunrise on Mont Blanc from our bed!), wonderful swimming pool and hot tub.

Review 116:Nothing.

Review 117:Absolutely everything. Location, breakfasts, service, facilities and accomodation were all excellent. Mont Blanc view was fantastic from our balcony.

Review 118:I was very disappointed to find that the room was nt the same a thephotos advertised on the website for booking.com and had I known this Iwould have up graded to the more expensive mountain view room - thehotel did offer me this option but I thought that it was just a pricedifference due to the view. Our room was small and very hot there was noair conditioning and 2 nights of very uncomfortable sleeping. There areno blinds/net curtains at the window so you cnat get changed withoutdrawing the curtains that of course makes the room dark and you have toput the light on - I would prefer to ahve seen the view all the time andhad a secondary choice of cover for the window. In the bathroom thehooks on the door are at a lethal level and very large and my partnerknocked his head quite badly on them. Also the tv has only 1 channel inEnglish and that's bbc world News!

Review 119:The views were amazing and you can see Mont Blanc from the garden sideof the hotel. The whle "swiss" chalet style of the building and roomswas lovely and very warm and friendly feeling - the staff wereexcellent and thelevel of English spoken was excellent. Close by to thetown of Chamonix

Review 120:There is nothing bad I could say.

Review 121:The staff are brilliant! They are very friendly and efficient. They made you feel at home and were helpful suggesting things to do in the area. They were also interested in how your day had been and this made us feel wanted. I would recommend this hotel as it is good value for money and the location is brilliant - I wish I was back there now lying on the loungers on the decking overlooking Mont Blanc.

Review 122:Clean rooms with nice appointments. Our girls loved the upstairs loftwith their beds and separate wc. The view of the mountains wasfantastic. Staff was nice and breakfast very good.

Review 123:Les Grands Montets is a very charming chalet-style hotel. Weappreciated the decore in the room as well as in the public areas. Thepool was beautiful. The facilities were modern and attractive. Veryclean. Great view.

Review 124:Shower head is too low for someone who is 6 feet tall. Shower curtainwould be better than the glass screen to keep water from splashing ontothe floor.

Review 125:3-Star hotel with 5-hotel amenities, E.G. bathrobe, slippers, Occitanetoiletry, minibar..

Review 126:As ski resort was in process of closing own for end of season it would have been useful if the restaurant was open for evening meals, especially as there wa only one restaurant open in the resort. Also bathroom was very tired in its decor and the showering facilities left much to be desired.

Review 127:Friendly three star hotel in good location for our onward travel to Switzerland also in good location for those who were skiing.

Review 128:The bedrooms were a little too cosy and bathroom had no separate shower- the over bath one sprayed the floor. The spa area was quite cold. Breakfast was very nice but only continental offered. No restaurant was a drawback, esp as no kettle or warming facilities in the bedrooms

Review 129:Decorated in an attractive alpine way, the spa facilities were good
