Reviews for Adonis Annecy - Icône Hôtel
Review 1:The bed could have been better and slightly bigger. Some noise coming in from the corridor during the morning that makes it hard to sleep-in.
Review 2:The location is perfect, just on the edge of the pedestrian streets. Easy to find street parking nearby. The hotel was very clean, renovated and the staff was quite helpful.
Review 3:The hotel is in an old building but very nicely placed locationwise and is very nicely maintained. Liked everything about it like the facilities, accessibility, less expensive and staff was very friendly. Excellent hotel.
Review 4:Nothing! Everything was very good.
Review 5:The hotel has been renovated very wisely keeping some of the original construction. The location is perfect, just 10 minutes walk from train station and directly in one of the entrances to the old town. Staff were very nice and helpful. They gave us very good tips for restaurants. Annecy is an amazing old town and staying in this hotel make our stay unforgettable.
Review 6:Such a nice little hotel! People seem to have trouble with the stairs, each flight is about 6 steps, no big deal. We had not trouble with the Internet service. Everything was great! The location was great to the old town. The staff was very helpful. Would definitely return.
Review 7:Really liked this hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We stayed one night, and everything we needed for a short stay was on hand. The hotel is close to the old town and around 10 minutes walking distance from the train station.
Review 8:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect; right in the old town but very quiet in the hotel. Car park available just next door. Breakfast great value for money! Room fairly small but well equipped with hair dryer , desk cupboard, telephone, free wifi and even a kettle. Even filter water available in the hallway!
Review 9:We booked two rooms for two couples, both on the first floor overlookingthe street with a charming view. We thought we may have street noise atnight, but heard very little with the windows closed and ac on. Simplemodern decor and clean rooms. No problems with wifi. The location iswonderful - right outside the archway to the old town. Directions on thewebsite looked pretty easy but we got lost trying to find it. Ifarriving by car, I would suggest parking first because there may not bea place to park in front of the hotel for check in and it would alsoeliminate the need to drive around the block. If you look at googlemaps, you will see that Rue de la Gare changes name to Fauberg deBalmettes at the intersection of d5. The public parking garage islocated on Rue de la Gare on the same side of the road as the hotel. (Ithelps to remember what the hotel looks like from its picture.) The lotwas full when we arrived but we waited in line and as cars left the lotothers were let in. There are two lines going into the garage. Thefaster line on the right is for pass holders so stay left. We learnedthe hard way.
Review 10:You walk out the side door, and you are in a Midieval town. Totally cool. Room was so-so, but location was totally awesome. If I ever go back to Annecy, this is where I will stay.
Review 11:During two nights of heavy rain the noise of an overflowing roof gutter on to a verandah roof outside our room (6) spoiled a couple of nights sleep. I am sure this could be corrected quite easily.
Review 12:excellent location with regard to SNCF and especially the Bus station which we used frequently.
Review 13:Rooms could do with updating and the lay out of the bathroom meant that the sink was digging into you if you sat on the toilet!! We were on the top floor and there was no lift.
Review 14:The hotel was located right by the old part of town so easily walkable to shops, restaurants and the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room a good size for a family of 4.
Review 15:Bedbugs!... Woke up in the morning with some bites and then I saw a pretty fat bedbug on the bed... I feel kind of bad for the place for writing it, but as a costumer I would have liked to know something like that... Once they'll take care of this problem the place would be recommended for staying.
Review 16:Good location, nice room. Breakfast is also decent (but not included in the price).
Review 17:Dirty bathroom with hair everywhere when we arrived. Bed was dipped in the middle and not very comfortable.
Review 18:Large room, very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location.
Review 19:Noise from the street on the first night. We moved to the back of the hotel on the second night - blissfully calm! No lift but it is a renovated older property.
Review 20:Small but comfortable room Excellent breakfast. Staff welcoming and extremely helpful.
Review 21:Cramped room, very small bed for two tall people, quite an old hotel. The "view" of the room was a wall and an old courtyard with dead plants. Disappointing and not worth 100 euros!
Review 22:The location was convenient, and generally it was quite clean.
Review 23:Water was not turned on to make eggs, it took too much time to get to boil.
Review 24:Splendid location. Parking at a place nearby. Helpful staff. The young lady helped carry the suitcase to our room as my husband was after a surgery and there is no elevator. Water was dripping from the ceiling at night, the floor was all wet, they took immedate care of our complaint and called for a plumber, who spoke German (as we do not speak French), and fixed the problem so we did not have to move to another room.
Review 25:very nice hotel with a very nice staff. Good location(close to the historical centre and 10 min. walk from the train station.Large rooms.Breakfast is good.
Review 26:The view from my room. The window was just opposite to the wall of the neighbouring building.
Review 27:The location was very good as it wasn't in the most crowded area of the old town and not too far from it either. The bus and railway stations were just in 10 min walking distance. Communication with the staff worked out nicely. Breakfast was great.
Review 28:Breakfast was variable. Started well with fresh fruit salad, but become tinned fruit cocktail on second week. Also egg cooking facilities could be at boiling temperature on arrival as takes 30 minutes to reach boiling point, as experienced.
Review 29:The clean fresh reception area. Good information leaflets, good ensuite facilities. Overall cleanliness, freshness and style.
Review 30:The room is a little bit small and There is no window, in order to get fresh air you have to open the back door
Review 31:Perfect location in the center of the city, clean room, sympatic helpfull staff, comfort bad, the public parking near is partially paid by the hotel
Review 32:Public parking, but overnight is free. Rooms are rather dark due to small windows (old building)
Review 33:Very central, but still quiet, nice service, fair price. All you need for a short stay.
Review 34:Breakfast was not included
Review 35:We stopped for one night on a way from ski and had a good sleep after the small bed we had in La Clusaz). The cattle and coffee set in the room was also very much appreciated.
Review 36:The breakfast could be included in the price but it was ok!
Review 37:Very good location at the city center Nearby restaurants & pubs Close to the lake & shops
Review 38:The only thing I can think about is that maybe the room was a bit dark, but nothing else
Review 39:Great position, walking distance from train station and city centre. Comfortable room.
Review 40:The somewhat tacky "modernisation" of the reception and breakfast area which jar with the building's character
Review 41:The room, the location, the friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast buffet
Review 42:At the beginning, I was very happy about sound proof, since it's hard to find such good window which can prevent sound super well for a hotel!! But the soundproof among rooms is very bad. I can hear my upstair room very clear by the person walking, opening door and even sound of opening zip! This disturbed me for sleeping! And the pillow is too high.
Review 43:Good location, less than 10 min to train station. At one edge of old town. Close to any sites and restaurants. Nice staff!
Review 44:We were in Room 16 for Sunday night. Given the top floor location (no elevator service) and its very small size, this room should NOT be rented to the public, particularly at 110 euros. It is more suited to hotel storage space at best: no air conditioning, barely enough room to turn around and only one window. This was a warm evening, so there was no way to create a cross-breeze. The noises from the relatively busy street below echoed up to our room until around 3:00AM -- loud motorbikes and conversations from people lingering below, plus there was a constant bass beat from music coming from a nearby apartment. Very, very disappointing accommodations.
Review 45:It is true that the hotel is situated at the beginning of the pedestrian street in the old section of Annecy, but . . .
Review 46:The fridge doesn't work well. My room is near some restaurants and shops. It was nosiy when I opened the window.
Review 47:Clean and tidy. A small electric kettle is provided.
Review 48:The bathroom was extremely small and tired. No extra pillows. Wifi non existent in bedroom on top floor.
Review 49:Great location if you want to stay in te old town. Breakfast pretty decent continental fair.
Review 50:Disadvantage : There is no elevator so you have bring your bags till your room even your room in 3rd floor. When we do check out ..they said the mastercard machine not work ..however they wrote they accepted mastercard Wifi not work at room only in reception Hyigen of bathroom not good
Review 51:Location is good
Review 52:Wifi connection very poor, bathroom slightly small for a family room.
Review 53:Perfect location, within the city walls and right by restaurants, very close to Chateau. Nice family room, friendly staff.
Review 54:Loved the fact that it was in an old historical building. So close to the best parts of medieval streets of Annecy. Staff could speak English well & very helpful.
Review 55:We request for our 20 month old son, and they gave us one for a newborn, he just fitted in it but it kept waking him and us.
Review 56:Great location, Good price, Friendly staff
Review 57:There is no elevator in this hotel, which wasn't a problem for me because I was traveling light. Be prepared for an early wake-up if you sleep with the window open; the daily garbage/recycling pickup for the route into the old town is around 5 AM. Glass bottles make quite the racket when they are being dumped.
Review 58:I was lucky enough to have the only room with a balcony over the archway entrance to the old town. It was great being able to step outside to start and end your day.
Review 59:No elevator. Insufficient personnel to clean the breakfast area when we arrived for breakfast. We had to remove plates and cutlery from previous guests ourselves to get a place to sit down and eat.
Review 60:Good location in the city center. Nearby parking lot (partially paid by the hotel). Air conditioned room, hot water kettle available in the room. We had a quiet room away from the main street. Room was middle-sized, with comfortable bed. Clean.WiFi worked well in the room.
Review 61:- room had a strong smell of smoke, which the owners tried to hide with odor just before we got into the room. - double beds were very small; second bed in our quadruple room was very bad quality; only three decent pillows for the four of us (fourth pillow was filled with towels...).
Review 62:- location is close to perfect
Review 63:There was no AC in our room so we had to sleep with open windows. Saturday night partiers had a roaring good time at our expense.
Review 64:Hotel is right at entrance to old town & you can walk to the lake easily. Annecy is like Disneyland! Beautiful narrow streets & lots of color. Friendly staff & local food was great.
Review 65:nothing
Review 66:The hotel is in a great location with clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly and quickly resolved an issue with the air conditioning.
Review 67:Stairs! Room 23 up many very narrow stairs carrying all the luggage, pregnant wife, 3 year old son, wasn't easy. Also parking was very small and dark, worrying when you have a rental car. On the plus side though the parking was very reasonable considering the location!
Review 68:The location was excellent, staff friendly and breakfast good value for money.
Review 69:The fact that someone we didn't know could come into our room at midnight after we locked up. Surely all rooms have unique keys? We asked to change room after that and were obliged, but the room we moved to had the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. The toilet was almost under the sink. Beds very uncomfortable. No safe in room.
Review 70:Location very good. Price OK too.
Review 71:very small room on top floor we booked last minuit as we were travileling you gave us supposidly one of your special deals for 100euros +tva however the maximum charge on the room door was 98euros we wonder where the deal was?
Review 72:Hotel was difficult to find. Our GPS kept wanting to take us down a road that was under construction and one way as a result. Other streets were closed to vehicle traffic. Room and bathroom were on the small side as expected. Bed was a little short in length.
Review 73:Location. This was the only reason we stayed here.
Review 74:Very friendly staff - I thought this could be very important during travels. My room was very small - must be the smallest in the hotel as I did a sightseeing around other rooms. Those larger rooms could be better. And my room is without A/C but is relatively money saving accordingly. Breakfast can be served in the room and the hotel is very generous when bringing those to my room - they brought me a bunch of bread/croissant/yogurt. Location wise, 5 minutes' walk from the Annecy SNCF station and 2 minutes' walk to the old town and 10 minutes' walk to the lake.
Review 75:it very good.
