Reviews for Hotel De La Mer

Review 1:We were given a suite adjoining the health club in the garden away from the main hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful and we made good use of the sunloungers in the garden. The covered pool was also very nice. The location was good, right in the centre of the village and near to the bus stop for La Tranche.

Review 2:The bathroom was cramped. the surrounding bars and restaurants were not up to much.

Review 3:The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was fine for an evening meal .

Review 4:The reception was empty when we arrived and it was 15minutes before anyone arrived. Our 'double' room was extremely small with only just enough room to move around the bed., staying any longer than one night would have been claustrophobic.

Review 5:The outside of the hotel is very welcoming and cared for as is the restaurant and bar.The situation on the coast and closeness of local amenities

Review 6:Location on busy main road. Noisy. Rooms tiny and very basic. Gardens very untidy, pool needed a good clean. Whole place needs a fortune spent. Luckily not many people staying or would have been unbearable.

Review 7:Staff very friendly.

Review 8:Nothing really apart from wi fi was not available from our room. For a stay of one night this was not a problem but for any longer this would be as we run our own business and always have to have access for customers.

Review 9:The room had plenty of space and somewhere to place bags etc. The staff were friendly.

Review 10:Toilet and bathroom needed refurbishing we had black mould on ceiling of shower!!

Review 11:Position of hotel gardens were lovely. Plenty of seating in garden too. Our room was at the back of the hotel so it was very peaceful. Easy parking which was free.

Review 12:This friendly comfortable hotel is stuck in a time warp of formica and polystyrene ceiling tiles. Mostly everywhere indoors looks pretty awful, designed by an amateur in 1965 and not changed since. But don't be put off; we started by feeling the onset of disappointment and ended feeling sorry to leave.

Review 13:Once past the first impression, this hotel could only improve. The staff were delightful, friendly, relaxed and helpful. A pleasant surprise was the excellent quality of the food. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. A short walk led to the superb beach at the quieter end of LaTranche, which is a seaside town devoted to old_fashioned seaside fun __ buckets and spades, kites, sailing boats, canoes, sailboards, swimming, paddling. The beach goes on forever, all golden sand. Quite significantly, almost everyone on holiday there is French!

Review 14:Very Noisy until nearly midnight (live band in bar) No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Review 15:Friendly Staff, Decent price, Well situated, Decent Facilities

Review 16:Some decor needs attention. Sunday pm gives appearance of being closed. Not very close to town centre.

Review 17:Most staff were helpful. Restaurant was good but limited menu. Dog friendly.

Review 18:Hotel shut for few days as only ones in but wasn't a problem no kettle

Review 19:Very comfortable, staff friendly, handy to local amenities

Review 20:tatty hotel needs attention many items, garden overgrown, poor lighting in bathroom. Wi-Fi drops out no automatic reconnection

Review 21:French Seaside hotel

Review 22:Too far away from the beach to walk with lunch and chairs

Review 23:Good sized room

Review 24:Rooms a bit tardy with cheap fittings.

Review 25:excellent food in restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff

Review 26:Beautiful garden. Lovely evening meal, view of garden from room.

Review 27:the staff were very good, the rooms very clean no complaints , service in restaurant excellent and food brilliant. Thankyou for a lovely stay. Regards Beverly Hamer U.K

Review 28:Rather dated, uninspiring rooms and menu. Poor overall value (especially breakfast) for late September.

Review 29:Basic facilities, staff, public area's & location.

Review 30:Friendly and helpful staff; good-sized and comfortable room; facing street but sound insulation was good. Good continental breakfast. Very clean. Convenient and secure (free) parking.

Review 31:The machines in the fitness centre are very old. Even though they didntseem busy and that it was clear that I was on my own, not a single oneof the receptionists bothered talking to me, apart from the strictminimum, ie regarding the payment.

Review 32:The location, as well as my room

Review 33:Poor staff; dreadful breakfast service which was expensive and wasrubbish. There was no coffee; a few rolls a few pieces of salami andcheese, some fruit salad. I was here on business and I left the hotelfeeling very hundry.

Review 34:Good location

Review 35:Due to the time of year the bar and restaurant closed at 9pm. (10pm high season) a little early for us. There was nowhere else to go in the area (we were not in the main town area) as they were all closed for the season. Buffet breakfast was expensive for what it was.

Review 36:The room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly.

Review 37:Bathroom smelt of sewage and was the tinniest we've ever seen! Separate toilet was only a suitable size for anyone under 3ft - we've come away with bruised knees! Looking on the bright side, the small size of the room encouraged us not to spend any time there and to explore the area even more than we would of already done.

Review 38:Good location and friendly staff, evening meal was nice when we ate there. Hotel located opposite a pattesirie and a bar also within 5 mins walk from beach and 30 mins walk from main town

Review 39:It had a nice relaxed feel to it, was close to the beach, clean and thestaff were friendly. My only slightly negative observation was that atbreakfast there seemed to be just 1 person rushing everywhere and ittook about 15 minutes to get some sugar for my coffee as there was noneon the table.. But this is a small thing and the stay was enjoyable.

Review 40:The toilet was extremely cramped and there was inadequate lighting in the bathroom which had a sliding door, but excellent shower.

Review 41:Very good position, easy to park. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 42:The staff were friendly and competent. The public rooms were 3-star, bedroom definitely not; shower room and toilet very cramped. Pleasant location; quiet but close to local shops.

Review 43:No tea/ coffee facilities in room Inadequate breakfast for money

Review 44:Secure parking for our motorbike Helpful staff

Review 45:Pool needs modernising

Review 46:Quiet and close to beach.

Review 47:Small Car Park

Review 48:In a quite area but close to the towns shops and beaches

Review 49:Rather noisy with the window open

Review 50:Location, pool.

Review 51:Unbelievably helpful to 4 dishevelled cyclists
