Reviews for Hotel inn Design Resto Novo Chartres

Review 1:Very small room, curtains less than fresh and so dusty you could see the dust resting in the crevises. Walls and doors need at the least a wash down but preferably a fresh coat of paint

Review 2:Convenient for traveling.bed very comfortable clean and fresh.small but functional shower/toilet also clean and in good order

Review 3:Restaurant not open Smell of paint because of refurbishment . However have stayed before and will again.

Review 4:Location and suitable for the dog Rooms undergoing refurbishment

Review 5:Not totally easy to find the road through the industrial area. Didn't realise just how small the room was. Soundproofing needs attention. Had asked for a quiet room, but was given a room overlooking the car park and the roundabout

Review 6:Convenience to N154 Male receptionist gave helpful advice about the Chartres illuminations, which we knew nothing about.

Review 7:Less positively, the rooms were quite cramped and the shower just about accommodated our 6ft tall son.

Review 8:The location close to the A10. The breakfast. The hooks in the bathroom. The price.

Review 9:Ants!!! - Hard beds/Charged for 2 seperate rooms, even thoughBooking.com confirmed one family room (x3 single beds & x1 doublebed) - we had two connecting rooms...cost approx £85.00 which incbreakfast for 5 (x2 adults)- Breakfast very minimal & expensive!!Location of hotel is in industrial estate!

Review 10:Close to wide variety of restaurants - we ate out at'Hippo's' 5 min drive from hotel :)

Review 11:Location is a bit noisy early morning due to main roads.

Review 12:Rooms had reasonable space in them, although look a bit worn. Close to main roads. For us the hotel did what we needed (basically just somewhere to sleep). We were expecting to be delayed by Channel Tunnel issues, and staff emailed us all we needed in case we arrived after reception closed.

Review 13:The bedroom was very small and cramped, hardly room to turn round. The service in the restaurant was very poor. Long wait for menu then 20 mins before our wine arrived another 20 mins before our starter and so on. The veal escalope was hard as leather and uneatable. One of the problems was shortage of staff. One man to be on reception and serve the restaurant at the same time

Review 14:Location easy on the ring road so quick to find. Very comfy beds and the rooms were spotless and cleaned on a daily basis (we stayed 2 nights) Quiet at night, good breakfast, staff were friendly and helpful. Chartres is an hour by train to Paris, we went there for the day to break up the journey.

Review 15:Receptionist not helpful Had confirmed family room but got two doublerooms. Window lock hanging off wall so not safe to have window open andwhen we stayed it was very hot (no fan Either!!!)

Review 16:Area of hotel Good for stop off on way to Dordogne coming from Calais.

Review 17:Adjoining rooms were excellent for a family of 5. Quiet, clean, great breakfast, free wifi, convenient location and superb value for a simple no frills stop over.

Review 18:Easily accessible for an overnight stop, Couple of restaurants in walking distance. Driving through the town next day Chartres looks like it may be a good visit.

Review 19:Nothing near by to go and visit. Located in an industrial/poor suburban part of town.

Review 20:Even the local bus drivers had trouble finding the hotel! We eventually worked out how to travel to Novo and so this was no longer a problem. May be the prominent roundabout out the front could be mentioned by you, when you give directions to customers.

Review 21:We had no problems at your hotel, in fact we will happily stay there next time we come to Chartres. Breakfast was good too. The staff made a great effort to speak to us in NZ,sorry our French was so poor. Kind regards Christopher Harmer

Review 22:Loo seat needed fixing. Room was very small - but not unusual for a budget hotel.

Review 23:Hotel was clean with comfortable bed, good shower and convenient parking.

Review 24:Handy for centre of Chartres, but needed to drive there. Friendly staff, well priced evening meal and breakfast. Would possibly book again as for us is mid-way between Calais and home.

Review 25:No idea about catering for special diets, asked for a tuna Niçoise salad without gluten and got croutons on it. Great if you don't have special dietary needs, but it seems to be common throughout France

Review 26:Clean room, beds comfortable.

Review 27:The friendly manner of Didier, and Virginie, who ensured that our requirements were satisfied. I would thoroughly recommend this establishment. Roger Canterbury

Review 28:room was small and overall did not seem so clean

Review 29:if you need a cheap place to stay with min time in room it could be an economical solution otherwise look elsewhere

Review 30:That we couldn't stay there on our way back.

Review 31:It is a basic hotel but with style. The staff were just lovely and so helpful. They accommodated all my children's allergies and all my questions with a smile. Buffet continental breakfast was super.

Review 32:It was a bit dark in the corridors and a bit dated but room was as good as room twice the price with one of the national chains. Found it difficult to find hotel in the dark.

Review 33:Very nice people, value for money.

Review 34:Extremely small room. Really difficult for two people to move around. Scant inofmration about local transit, location (not even a map of the area), services.

Review 35:Inexpensive, quiet, clean.

Review 36:It is clearly a hotel for business travallers and although relatively inexpensive for an overnight stay it was rather sparse and next to the main road.

Review 37:The staff were freidnly and professional and extremly helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant clean and functional.

Review 38:Poor pillows, room small and in need of re-decoration, thin walls, and no tea /coffee facilities in room.

Review 39:Excellent staff, very helpful, enjoyable evening meal and good quality breakfast.

Review 40:Not the prettiest of locations but it was only used as a stopover. Shower small and I found it hard not to flood the floor.

Review 41:Comfortable beds, the single for my daughter was a bunk over the double..she LOVED it. WiFi always a bonus. Great breakfast.

Review 42:No restaurant which they had last time we stayed. Staff were not really interested & the hotel was just a bit shabby.

Review 43:In walking distance of restaurants.

Review 44:Hotel is "tired". There needs to be some redecoration and the shower tray is worn out. The accommodation was small for effectively three adult size people but we knew that would be so.

Review 45:Price was good and location ideal for us to travel on to the Dordogne.

Review 46:Zero ambience but adequate for a one night stop. In the middle of an industrial estate. High price for the minimal facilities but paying for the convenient location close to motorway.

Review 47:Handy location and one or two acceptable restaurants nearby.

Review 48:Rooms are small with no fridge or ice on the floor. Hotel is located in a industrial sector, but close to town.

Review 49:Close to downtown. Family rooms that connect. Good wifi. Cheap relatively for 5 persons. Beds are compfy.

Review 50:Bathroom was "tired" and needed refurbishing, especially the shower tray.

Review 51:Location was difficult to find but close to roads away from Chartres

Review 52:Breakfast choice meagre for 7 euro; but hotel breakfasts never cheap!

Review 53:Great stopover location and range of chain restaurants for dinner options. Nothing picturesque about location or modern about facilities. But it was generally clean, friendly service and comfortable (if small) rooms.

Review 54:Some noise from traffic though inevitable for this type of budget hotel.

Review 55:Comfortable bed; shower room larger than many competitors. The breakfast choices were wider than some and the dining room less cramped.

Review 56:Reception area was a bit well used and in need of a face lift Hotel difficult to find Not well signposted

Review 57:Bed was comfortable Food was very good and reasonably priced Room generally clean although sparse

Review 58:Everything was fine.

Review 59:Frederique and Virginie were excellent hosts. The breakfast was really excellent. The room cost E39 - terrific value for money. We only needed an overnight stay on our way South, the Chartres Hotel Inn Resto Novo well exceeded our expectations.

Review 60:The hotel is difficult to find when approaching from the city centre. Clearer, bigger signs needed.

Review 61:Comfortable and clean and situated near a few good restaurants. A good place for a stopover with on site parking.

Review 62:Very small rooms Not enough towels provided for the amount of people in our party Overheard another guest try to refund a breakfast for the following day as they had to leave early, but staff told them this was not possible once payment had been made

Review 63:This hotel was booked on price alone

Review 64:The receptionist was rude and unpleasant, she did not like being disturbed by my arrival, Could not open the window due to very noisy roundabout, so hot bedroom.

Review 65:Basic but perfectly clean.

Review 66:Dirty rooms. One bathroom was really stinking (clogged drain we think) . The odour was so intense that we were unable to use it. One of the beds was not made up and had only one sheet and a dirty pillow case with brown stains. Another pillow case contained a clog of black hairs.

Review 67:Location next to the highway

Review 68:Good breakfast.

Review 69:Stupid road arrangement to get to hotel and very small bathroom.

Review 70:Easy to find location.

Review 71:Could not get through shower door as too narrow. Strictly for thin people.

Review 72:A good night's sleep as bed was very comfortable

Review 73:Ease of parking and availability of evening meal.

Review 74:Shower curtains did not stop the water flooding the bathroom and flowed into the main room also.

Review 75:Really comfortable beds

Review 76:Bad odour in passageway to room

Review 77:Helpful staff

Review 78:Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location with easy access to Chartres centre.

Review 79:Not impressed by the BBQ offer in the restaurant. Will eat out at a proper food outlet

Review 80:Convenient location to visit Chartres

Review 81:The location but not too much of a problem

Review 82:Easy to find...made very welcome even though we were late

Review 83:No air con and cigarette smoke coming through bathroom vent despite being a non-smoking hotel.

Review 84:The connecting family rooms and the restaurant.

Review 85:No drink facilities in the room

Review 86:Clean and fresh, comfortable rooms

Review 87:Very functional and well located and very good value

Review 88:didn't like the location, the room was small and basic,

Review 90:No air con and lots of ants I. The room

Review 91:Perfect for getting back onto motorway to Calais

Review 97:Leaving next morning

Review 98:The quality of the breakfast food No meat no cheese breads and croissants from the day before....... Back

Review 100:The location is not suitable for travellers without their own transport if the purpose is tourist visit to Chartres.

Review 101:Quiet and safe.

Review 102:Friendly and very accommodating staff

Review 103:A little outdated in need of freshening up

Review 104:The rooms were a bit cramped but you get what you pay for

Review 105:It's cheap and the food was good.

Review 106:The female attendant/desk clerk/breakfast setter-upper was most friendly and helpful.
