Reviews for Hotel Ambassadeur
Review 1:We had to pay to park our car (I've never seen that in another hotel before !) Also, the breakfast was a bit disappointing and expensive.
Review 2:The location was great, the staff was nice. Overall value for money was very good (with the reduction).
Review 3:Nice location and easy to find in Etretat, particularly close to 'town centre' (which is rather small anyway). Was perfect for one night stay, but was glad not to stay longer as we had an issue with the bed which was uncomfortable for us. Staff very polite and nice though.
Review 4:We were in an annex, no whirlpool tub!Breakfast was overpriced & we had to pay for parking
Review 5:The hotel was close to the town & quite close to the beach. The walk up either cliff was good exercise & the view breath-taking. We saw a grass snake basking on the path so be aware!
Review 6:The long winding staircase up from the ground floor to the rooms above.
Review 7:V helpful staff, neglected to tell them my husband was disabled and they changed the room for another on the ground floor.
Review 8:Despite the Booking.com description, no one in the staff spoke English, but we made our way through with some effort from both sides :) Tea kettle would be a very welcome addition to the room amenities.
Review 9:Hotel location - very close to the city centre and all sightseeings. Nicely decorated rooms in old style. Off-street parking.
Review 10:Quite expensive, had to pay to park. Breakfast too expensive so found a nice place in town. No tea or coffee facilities.
Review 11:Great location. Good parking. Smart hotel. Very clean.
Review 12:Bed not the greatest and feel they have tried to squeeze one or two too many bedrooms in size of house.
Review 13:Classic 19th century house, brilliantly located - nice time piece
Review 14:If you can tolerate to sleep without air conditioning in June, you can reserve this hotel. Narrow and steep steps to go up to 1st floor.
Review 15:Location is good as it can walk to the main street within minutes.
Review 16:The toilet was difficult to get in and out of as there was not enough room to manoeuvre
Review 17:The staff were very friendly and able to speak in English which was very helpful. The room were modern and clean with a lovely good sized bath. The bed was very comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely which filled me up for the rest of the day.
Review 18:Like suggestion - it will be good if in or next to bathroom will be a plug in. Or the mirror in one of living rooms.
Review 19:We booked a family room. And it was a good choice - we got a large and tidy apartment with comfortable beds. The breakfast is good, you can find also cheese, meat, yogurt and cereals. Central location.
Review 20:Firstly, we had trouble finding it because the image of the hotel that we had from booking was not visible from the road as we approached Etretat. We were in a room in the annex, which was good except for the stairs which are spiral, steep, quite narrow and had poor hand hold. The breakfast was expensive at 11 euros.
Review 21:The room was good. The welcome was friendly and helpful. It was easy walking distance of the town and sea.
Review 22:Thought the breakfast was very basic. No staff available to ask for milk. Expensive for what was on offer.
Review 23:2nd time we have stayed here. The hotel has charm and a great location. Bed comfortable. Liked our room at the front of the hotel.
Review 24:Overpriced breakfast and parking. The only public room at the front of the hotel could have been pleasant if it had been better furnished with armchairs and sofas. WiFi unreliable in bedroom
Review 25:Small, comfortable Well kept hotel. Quiet but within easy reach of the town and sea front.
Review 26:Kind of expensive - good solution for low season. But for high season the prices are much higher for the room.
Review 27:Beautiful hotel, we liked the style of the room with was classical elegant design besides the fact of comfort and quality of the room equipment. The wall above bed was decorated with Mone painting -amazing! The breakfast was wonderful - worth ordering it for additional payment - healthy french food, beautiful serving.
Review 28:Parking cost 12euros per night-high cost considering what you are already paying for the room. The room wasn't in hotel-it was across road in what seemed to be a shared house-on 3rd floor-no lift-carrying bags was an effort!
Review 29:Spa bath Comfy bed Feel and decor in room was classy and calming Central locality Parking available Nice view from window Noon check out.
Review 30:Shower was broken, it fell of the wall if not careful. But worse was that the water in the shower and wash basin did not run away leading to flooding if letting the shower run more than 5 minutes. The light in the shower sometimes failed. The matras of the bed was of poor quality and the room was very small (less than 8m2). Also was the room situated ground floor next to a busy street, if opening the window you could shake hands with bypassers. For that price I expect a room with a good shower experience and good matras.
Review 31:I liked the wallpaper and the style of the room and bathroom.
Review 32:The door of apartment of room with jagzy was very difficult to open and staff couldn't explain how to open easily. She could just show that she could open which I was not. It was just to pull first then turn the key.
Review 33:Family suite has great view. Staff are agreable. Room with jagzy has bath room totally renovated and clean.
Review 34:Uninspired and slightly scruffy interiors.
Review 35:Location
Review 36:Internet connection could be much better.
Review 37:Wonderful decoration, lovely rooms, good facilities, convenient location.

Review 39:The location is very good.
Review 40:Absence d un mini bar
Review 41:Great location on main road with off road parking (for a fee). Very comfortable, quiet room, nice staff, very good european breakfast offered.
Review 42:paid for parking
Review 43:Location and price
Review 44:Wi-Fi, too small and old enough room
Review 45:Had to change room because the one allocated was right on the roadside. Breakfast of poor quality___cheap ingredients.
Review 46:Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.
Review 47:The wi-fi was completely useless!
Review 48:A convenient location
Review 49:Emplacement Personnel
Review 50:The Wi-fi was a bit temperamental.
Review 51:Right in the centre of Etretat & near the sea front as well.
Review 52:Nice staff
Review 53:Very close to center of town and beach.
Review 54:very bad breakfast butter was too old
Review 55:The whole thing, from the reception to the comfort and quiet of the rooms, and of course the wonderful breakfast!
Review 56:They dont speak.well english.
Review 57:Great location..easy to find ,,, Great about everything Confortable bed and warm room Def reccomend it!
Review 58:Tiny room. No room for the suitcases. Unpleasant smell in the hallway.
Review 59:Walking distance to beach
Review 60:Nothing!
Review 61:Great location, great room
Review 62:Nice hotel with private parking. Convenient location and good rooms.
Review 63:Convenient walking to the beach, shops and restaurants Nice breakfast
Review 64:Nothing
Review 65:Really a great place to stay. Clean and comfortable room with bathroom. Nice staff, they didn't charge us for parking.
Review 66:Annex building - room small and smelled of smoke Needed 2 keys but this deemed not possible
Review 67:Main building - staff great , all good
Review 68:Nice breakfast with organic products. Nice, old building and comfortable rooms.
Review 69:couldn't get wifi
Review 70:style and character of the hotel, helpfulness of staff
Review 71:Good location, with carpark
Review 72:Staff was very kind, the family room was spacious and lovely - the kids had a separate room, and although we had to pay extra for breakfast, it was copious (cheese, ham, boiled eggs, fresh fruit etc), so in the end worth the money. It was also easy to park the car. The parking space is right in front of hotel and seemed safe. Would return and recommend it to friends.
Review 73:Poorly signed from one direction. Basic room in annexe with solid woodspiral staircase, loud and not very safe. No nets on the windows. Askedto decide on breakfast the night before. No grab rail in the shower. Notmuch staff interaction.
Review 74:Parking was good. Plus the hotel was close to the town. Quiet. Goodlinen and pillows. Good hot water supply.
Review 75:The entrance of the hotel had a strong smell of mould. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but we wouldn't enjoy eating when the room smells. The room was very small and there was no kettle and no cafes around or bar in the hotel to even get a drink. Charged £12 per night for parking which is quite expensive.
Review 76:The hotel was in the great location as only 5 min walk from the beach in a beautiful little town. The hotel was average but clean. Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 77:The hotel was very clean, but the foyer and main floor had a very strong odor (moldy standing water smell.)
Review 78:The location was terrific. Staff was very friendly. Their was a separate sleeping room for the kids. That remodeled bathroom was gorgeous. Wifi did work in the room and not just in the common room.
Review 79:The town of Etretat is very nice and has a nice feel to the place. We loved the promenade and the walk up to the cliff. There are lots of eating places and the place is charming,There is parking at the hotel , but one has to pay 12 euros for the day, which I think is too much.
Review 80:Charming old building set back off the road. Excellent parking if a bit expensive at 12 Euros a night. Good room at the back of the hotel, clean but in need of some titivation. Adequate breakfast.
Review 81:We had a family room, which was on the second floor, with no elevator, and once we entered, there was one more flight of stairs to the actual room. The beds were quite small, but we did have enough room to move around our luggage. WIFI didn't work.
Review 82:Very old but charming building. Nice courtyard to have a glass of wine. The bathroom was very new and bright, with beautiful tile and fixtures.
Review 83:This is a pleasant b&b hotel in the centre of town, with excellent parking. A distinctive, attractive appearance externally, perfectly ok internally and a good breakfast.
Review 84:The hotel is small, but the room is clean and the bathroom is satisfactory. The breakfast is expensive for what it offers. My wife and I were frightened by the lack of training of the receptionist, who suddenly appeared screaming while we were parking the car in a spot where we could not park. There was no information about the prohibition and no one was at the front desk to guide us. Even though the mistake was ours, I think it’s a terrible impression. This lack of professionalism at the first contact with customers in a totally rude and outrageous way was certainly terrible. After looking at the other hotels in Etretat, we realized that there were other hotels with a similar range of price and probably with more confort and professionalism. So I give a grade of "regular", but I would not recommend this hotel.
Review 85:Its easy to find.
Review 86:No lift, thus couldn't take our big suitcases up to the top floor.
Review 87:Great location. The decor has character. We arrived late and car park was already prepared for us. Very spacious family room. The young lady at reception was very helpful and pleasant. A lovely hotel.
Review 88:Expensive parking, the breakfast is ok but a lot of people will thinkthe choice is small for this price. The wifi did not work as it shouldhave. And we heard some strange sounds in the ceiling during the morning(mice? Something that is always possible in old houses).
Review 89:We had the economy room, so for this town it was cheap. And the room wasok, nothing special. The house does have a special feeling. Veryfriendly staff.
Review 90:Parking costs! Besides these extra costs the hotel is a bit expensive compared to other hotels in this range.
Review 91:Descent hotel. Breakfast is good.
Review 92:bad wifi
Review 93:atmosphere
Review 94:good location. towel dryer is attached.breakfast in gorgeous room.
Review 95:It is not very clean.
Review 96:The view is good outside the window, and the room is quite spacious.
Review 97:too expensive. poor breakfast, parking must be free.
Review 98:friendly staff, nice room (balneo), good location.
Review 99:Room was pretty basic; parking difficult and expensive; breakfast expensive addition.
Review 100:Very close to the bus stop
Review 101:Room was not in main building - but was next to main road Separatetoilet too small - had difficulty closing the door
Review 102:Small rooms. Breakfast
Review 103:Location and available parcking
