Reviews for La Providence
Review 1:The property is absolutely beautiful. It was hands down one of the most memorable stays any where in the world. The hosts were very welcoming and flexible. Breakfast on the terrace in the garden was the best part of the stay. Some time in the future, we would love to come back and stay for at least a few days and just enjoy the time on the property for the whole stay.
Review 2:Unlike booking.com description all rooms do not have aircon. Ours did not and the heat made sleeping impossible, we had to leave window open and got many insect bites. We left early.
Review 3:Location could not be better, such an attractive property in a beautiful area
Review 4:Very friendly Hosts + silence + good taste designed and equipped appartment + fetching basket fill with french breakfast waiting for you confidentially every morning at your door + picturesque lokated poolside + lavenda fields directly under your window. You can't find better place in Luberon, I hardly recomend!
Review 5:The apartment smelled really bad. The breakfast was deliciously fresh every two days, but stale on the other days. The kitchen appliances worked really well, but the kitchen had to be kept absolutely spotless to keep out the ants.
Review 6:The property itself had historic charm. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was a great location - seemingly out in the middle of nowhere, but only a couple kilometers from town - dining and shopping.
Review 7:We had a tiny and uncomfortible room. The carpet in the entrance hall was threadbare and dirty. The bath box was on the first floor and the toilet in the ground floor. The steps to go to the first floor were steep and narrow. No air conditioning, no fan, no WiFi in the room. Everything in the room is makeshift. The descriptions of facilities in the Internet do not refer to this horrible room. They should be available there as well. We were trapped by this misleading information. This room should be interdicted because of its inadequate conditions! It has the worst cost/benefit ratio we have ever had.
Review 8:Nothing to declare! A very bad experience.
Review 9:Perfect countryside place to relax. It's very quiet and have amazing views! The house that we stayed in is just lovely. You can just smell the lavender fields beside the house! Jerome, the owner, even offered us wine from his wine cellar. I definitely recommend this place for those who want to experience the countryside living and lavender fields!
Review 10:It is a very comfortable apartment in wonderful barn conversion surrounded by lavender fields. Dominique made us very welcome - and of course the sun shone!
Review 11:WiFi could be better
Review 12:Calm place at the outskirts of Apt, orchards and lavender fields around, small swimming pool with shades around it to relax and read.
Review 13:On arrival in temperature of 32 degrees kept waiting and outside for 10 minutes while proprietor finished a call on his mobile. Accommodation in the pigeonnier was tiny. Toilet on the ground floor with no door, only a curtain, and next to a 'fridge. Narrow and uneven curving staircase not suitable for anyone with the slightest disability or children, leading to small bedroom.Dangerous if need to use toilet at night. Bed pushed up against the window which could not be opened fully without overlapping it. Shower acceptable. No toiletries. Incorrectly advertised as wi-fi available everywhere. Not true. Only a very feeble signal on terrace outside proprietor's house.
Review 14:The view
Review 15:La Providence offered more than we expected. Breakfast of fresh croissants, bread and other items were delivered to our door each morning. The owner was helpful and friendly offering advice and recommendations so we could make the most of our time. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I loved the views.
Review 16:Lack of authenticity. We both live in a city and we were hoping to go to the country-side. It could have been a bit more rough, real, less luxurious. The host was always busy, we did not really have a chance to talk to him or his family. If I owned the place I would make sure that the guests are welcome, would be for instance nice to organize dinners together, to cook local food, to feel this "local spirit" of la Provence. This was indeed missing. Tip: please cooperate with the local winery, for instance, Font Alba. It would have been fantastic after a long trip to drink a glass of nice local wine in our room. Also the host was surprised that we came by public transport and it is a bit awkward, because people choose sometimes to travel not by car.
Review 17:The surroundings are very nice. Amazing view to the levanden and grape fields. A cozy winery Font Alba very nearby, worth visiting. Not too far from Apt to have dinners there. Super clean and even too luxurious (not rally authentic anymore). Depends on what you want: to spend your holiday in a very comfortable, but a bit boring way, or experience some real countryside, with a real farm and villagers. So the stay did not refer to the last point.
Review 18:That our weekend was over and had to drive back home.
Review 19:The owners making you feel like at home and there to recommend places. My son loved the cherry tree :) The place is really quiet and new. Also nice touch to receive a basket with croissants for breakfast.
Review 20:The near by major city of Apt.
Review 21:Rooms were spacious, new, modern and clean. View was fantastic with lavender fields nearby. Owner of hotel were friendly and very nice.
Review 22:Friendliness of the owners
Review 23:beautiful location, clean smartly designed space in older buildings. A family run property and the ambiance to match.
Review 24:This is our second stay with La Providence. We love staying here! Especially the chocolate croissants and french bread with jam left at the door every morning :)
Review 25:My expectations were higher due to lodge description. In fact are nice houses, with beautiful furniture but not so functional. The property could be better maintained, external areas with more flowers (it is in Provence!!!). It's not a hotel, so the services are almost null, but for a country house some important things were missing. The owners are not rude, but quite cold and don't make so much effort in order to make you felling in home. Apt is nice but next time I will prefer stay closer to Menerbes or L'Isle su le sorgue.
Review 26:Provence is beautiful, La Providence also, in the middle of that paradise.
Review 27:Beautiful location, convenient for exploring the Luberon valley. Accommodation comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lovely pool, barbecue facilities, bikes available to meander into town. Hosts very knowledgeable and entertaining! Would definitely recommend to friends.
Review 28:The property is not cheap but not the most expensive either. about upper mid range.
Review 29:The view and the pool! The property overlooks the Luberon valley and mountain. Cottage is updated and tastefully decorated. Jerome and Dominique, our hosts, were super helpful. Jerome gave us a private wine tour to some of his favorite vineyards...he personally knows some of the owners which makes the tour so much more personable and fun.
Review 30:Internet was slow
Review 31:Stunning location, facilities near new and very clean. Hosts were very hospitable, charming and delightful, including putting on drinks for the guests one evening. The beautifully prepared breakfast hamper each morning was a nice touch.
Review 32:Difficult to find (not their fault, Apt is like that), the hot water tank is far too small - first day involved a VERY cold shower.
Review 33:Staff was fabulous, room was brand-new and yet very comfortable/lived-in, food was excellent, grounds were well maintained, and the entire hotel experience was fantastic.
Review 34:Accommodating staff, lovely cottage and beautiful position.
Review 35:Tolle Lage, stylische Wohnung, sehr schöner Pool
Review 36:The weather..
Review 37:Nice decor, generous space, good welcome, great privacy, lovely surroundings.
