Reviews for Logis De Guise
Review 1:A small gripe only. Breakfast could be a little more exciting.
Review 2:Great Hotel in a wonderful location. Staff friendly and helpful, room well organised and comfortable. Great value for money
Review 3:No parking, no bar inside the hotel, no elevator, very small quadruple room, very dark triple room (only two wall lamps), poor interior decor of triple and quadruple rooms (not very pleasant to stay, could only be ok for 1 night stay), very slow internet. Breakfast for a 4 year old child costed 6,50 eur (where usually for this age other hotels do not charge anything). Quadruple room only had two double beds, not 4 single or at least 2 single beds.
Review 4:Location (close to Place Stanislas), good breakfast, nice old historic building, good beds, calm sleep, clean
Review 5:Right in the heart of the old town, located in an amazing 18th century mansion. Many restaurants nearby. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Although not a buffet style breakfast, still a very good value for money.
Review 6:Very small room on the 3rd floor (328 - no lift). No UK TV channel, no tea/coffee making facilities, no toiletries, tiny shower cubicle, sink so small you couldn't get your arms in to wash your face. Arrived wet after a 470m bike ride and the radiator in the room didn't work, tiny toilet cubicle which faced directly towards your pillow etc etc
Review 7:Nice building, friendly staff
Review 8:Beautiful old building converted to hotel. Masses of character. Loved the quirky shaped rooms, beautiful wooden (but very creaky) floors etc but this wouldn't be for everyone. Very helpful staff. Breakfast wasn't included in room rate but well worth additional cost - very good selection. Good wifi access.
Review 9:Great location in Nancy, walking distance from all places of interest. Nice staff. Beautiful old building. Comfort room. Great breakfast. Good price. Very recommend
Review 10:Wonderful to stay at a converted mansion. Abou was very helpful when I checked in. The parking was not the best since I had to drive through narrow streets to find it. But the car was there the next day! Beautiful buildings.
Review 11:No tea/coffee facilities, no soap in bathroom
Review 12:Excellent breakfast, central location, courteous staff, nice style of hotel with all rooms different as it used to be a manor house
Review 13:Amazing experience to stay in a grand historic building in the centre of beautiful Nancy. Great value for money. The staff, especially Rafael, were extremely helpful.
Review 14:no lift, but I already knew it. It was bloody cold and I think it might have been possible to heat a bit the room before a guest's arrival. The bed was very uncomfortable : old blankets and they don't arrive to the shoulders if you're a bit tall. Poor wilan, even if they said they're doing something to improve it soon.
Review 15:beautiful old stairs, well located in the old town, clean bathroom
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:On a quiet side-street just off Grande Rue leading to Place Stanislas. Hotel kindly upgraded us to a larger room for free so we could be on ground floor. Beautiful historic building (note: no elevator but have rooms on main floor)
Review 18:The wifi was broke, the room was only slightly larger than the bed, the shower had no shower curtain, the walls were very thin...
Review 19:The location was good, the staff was nice and the breakfast was very filling.
Review 20:My room had very weak Wifi, so I had to go out and explore Nancy rather than doing my email.
Review 21:Excellent check in and out. Staff spoke good english, were fast, personal and friendly but not over powering. It gave the rest of my stay a good feel. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety while still feeling french and authentic (but what do I know?) . The hotel is in a magnificent building on a quite street in the centre of the town. Perfect location.
Review 22:Only warning, no lift facilities, so if you have any kind of problem walking up stairs (although they are large staircases) I'd give it a pass.
Review 23:Excellent location, friendly staff and character building. Reccomended if you're visiting Nancy just for a day or two, as it's so convenient for parking (the big parking lot round the corner), right in the centre minutes away from the best spots, and relatively quiet.
Review 24:A beautiful location -right in the centre of the old city. Plenty if restaurants and bars around the area. A beautiful building. We WILL be returning!!!!
Review 25:No problems, concerns, or issues with this lovely atmospheric hotel.
Review 26:We arrived with a suitcase that had lost a wheel; the charming young woman at reception gave us flawless directions to a major shopping mall where we could replace the bag. Then the staff disposed of the ruined luggage for us. All the staff were unfailingly helpful in many instances -- even small matters such as changing a 50 euro bill for lesser denominations. Impressive service!
Review 27:The family room was totally adequate and clean, though nothing special, particularly the bathroom.
Review 28:A lovely hotel in a superb location. Although only there for a night, we were very impressed by Nancy and the architecture, light show etc. The staff were very friendly and welcoming; the communal areas of the hotel are elegant. Breakfast was very good ('unlimited' too!).
Review 29:Quite difficult to negotiate Nancy's one way system as road works undertaken. Service at restaurant in Place Stanilas poor (not the hotel's fault obviously).
Review 30:Pleasant charming staff Comfortable bed, best night's sleep I have had for a long time. Character of hotel Quality of breakfast (best in my week in France)
Review 31:Some of the paint from the ceiling was peeling, but,,so what!
Review 32:The location is perfect. It is centrally located and the rooms are quiet. The bed,is firm and the rooms clean. If you upgrade to rooms with a name, the furniture and ambience is delightfully old world. Parking right outside the hotel, was fine with 2 hour limitations.
Review 33:This hotel was recommended to us by the captain of the barge we had been traveling aboard. It is located in the historic district of Nancy and convenient to the major attractions. Although baths were updated and wifi available, it retains it's historic character and charm. The furnishings were true to period and the architecture beautiful. We were no less pleased with the courtesy of the staff. Altogether a gem.
Review 34:the room needed a comfortable chair. it was rather spartan in furnishings, but clean and functional.
Review 35:loved the hotel, the street, the location, the hallways, the ambiance. we appreciated the fan in the room.
Review 36:You have to be brave in an old car with a low hanging exhaust to drive over the kerb to get up the Rue de Guise! No problem at all in the end though!
Review 37:In the first room we booked the shower was broken but we were upgraded to another room without any fuss by friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent - location very good - only a short walk from main square. Plenty of good restaurants nearby (we went to Grand cafe Foy where we watched the fabulous light show from our table - about 10:30pm). Parking only 5 minutes walk and very cheap (at least at the weekend).
Review 38:No elevator. Our first room was inexpensive, but small, dark, hot, and pretty much awful. Luckily we upgraded to a better, but much more expensive, room.
Review 39:This hotel is in a 17th century mansion, so it has a lot of natural charm. We were assigned the worst room, and decided to upgrade to the best one, which was large and very comfortable.
Review 40:only stairs (but easy to climb) simple room. thin walls
Review 41:location location location nice building, cozy
Review 42:Nothing
Review 43:We liked the room, nice and clean. The location, the brakfast was good and the staff was nice and helpful.
Review 44:The parking
Review 45:The ambiance and the service
Review 46:No heating at 5°C.
Review 47:Beautiful house. Great location, really centered, parking nearby.
Review 48:Nice hotel. Great old building. Grand staircase. Helpful staff. Great location. WiFi good.
Review 49:The property exudes a sense of history. Loved the architecture and careful attention to detail in the restoration of its best features.
Review 50:Lack of elevator, very old and dated rooms
Review 51:Location and staff were excellent
Review 52:Improve wifi quality pls
Review 53:No lift

Review 55:Beaucoup de charme!
Review 56:Older remodeled hotel tastefully decorated. Great breakfast - many choices. Excellent staff. Fran
Review 57:Difficult to find by car.
Review 58:Impressive building
Review 59:Wi-Fi limited
Review 60:A characterful property close to all of the restaurants and amenities of Nancy Old Town. Very pleasant staff
Review 61:Location Excellent staff Cleanliness Comfort

Review 66:Todo
Review 67:WiFi questionable
Review 68:Excellent Staff Pleasant Breakfast Amazing central location
Review 69:The hotel has been refurbished in a very stylish way. Excellent breakfast.
Review 70:We had to make the booking on booking.com to grt the cheaper price...thedifference was over 50 euros for one night.
Review 71:Super location and good price
Review 72:Wifi did not work well. Due to central location some noise (Saturday evening)
Review 73:Very nice old palace. Excellent cental location.
Review 74:Realy old and ancient hotel. We enjoyed being there.
Review 75:Very French feel to this hotel Great location and lovely breakast
Review 76:A lovely hotel in an excellent central location
Review 77:The stairs - no lift
Review 78:The location Friendly staff near car park Great breakfasts
Review 79:Very basic accommodation, 2.star facility rated as three.
Review 80:Quaint Lodging, good location, interesting building
Review 81:The outside appearance of the hotel, but that is typical of France. The room we were given at first was small but we were able to move to a larger room with no trouble, but this might not always be possible.
Review 82:The interior of the hotel was charming and our room very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good and the hotel is very close to the most important sights in Nancy
Review 83:Parking was not easy and expensive. Room was a bit tired, could do with a bit of decorating.
Review 84:Staff were very helpful, breakfast was well presented. Easy to walk to the local part of Nancy. Not much else to say, as we were only there for 1 night.
Review 85:We got first floor - it's actually on the ground. Cold tile floor in the bathroom and toilet. Damp and cold, heaters do not work. WiFi in the rooms does not work. Breakfast is very weak, even considering that this is a continental breakfast. Everything is extremely uncomfortable.
Review 86:location and staff
Review 87:Wifi in bedroom was poor. A bit sole less if you were staying for a week or longer.
Review 88:Hotel ambience. Perfect location for exploring city. Historic building. Classic stone staircase.
Review 89:I was lucky to have a single neighbour in the room above who did not much move around as every step on the wooden floor could be heard
Review 90:I got a special price deal and was staying in one of the not yet renovated rooms. I liked the charm of a worn out room which was comfortable, spacious and impeccably clean. Excellent value for money, close to the old city and close to public parking at Cours Leopold at only 12 € for 24 hours.
Review 91:We stayed at the hotel on New Year's Eve. We had an attic room with one small window, which is ok for winter but I could imagine it would be warm and dark in summer. Bath, no shower. 80 for room, 9,50 for breakfast.
Review 92:Pretty art nouveau building very closely located on a 10 min walk from place Stanislas, parc de Pepiniere and bar and restaurants on grande rue, place st. Epyre and rue des marechaux. Friendly staff.
Review 93:The room was a little small, but acceptable and the bathroom is a box in the room.
Review 94:Beautiful old house in the middle of town. All within walking distance (shopping, restaurants, park), on a quiet street, lovely interior patio. Great value and perfect for a weekend stay!
Review 95:nothing
Review 96:great location pleasant helpful staff very clean excellent location for all city sightseeing. Great collection of various cafes/restaurants nearby
Review 97:No car parking, unclean bed covers like in a motel, poor ventilation, bad noise insulation - one can hear his neighbor snoring, farting, walking....
Review 98:Personnel spoke very good English, good service, unusual (nice) design.
Review 99:A bit far from the center , you will probably need a car unless youenjoy walking for a long distance , No air condition nor fans and it ishot in summer (I had mine as I think it is necessary for Europe). Nearthe train station but when windows ars closs you will enjoy the sleep .
Review 100:Great Value , Good place for families , if you have a car it is near thecenter 7 mnt in car .
Review 101:We were upgraded to one of the ground floor rooms which had recently been refurbished. The location is excellent for walking into the historic centre - we were lucky and parked on the street outside. The Son et Lumiere show in the Place Stanislas was fantastic.
Review 102:note there is no lift. rooms with windows facing the interior courtyard can be a bit noisy once breakfast starts - lots of clattering of cutlery.
Review 103:good location in the oldest part of the town, but in a quiet street. lovely old building, with rooms a bit quirky. looked after little details like a fan in the room for summer. staff very friendly & helpful. great quality for the price.
Review 104:I stayed in this hotel for two days. Beautiful hotel, in a quiet area of city center. Room and shower/toilet are clean. No airco, so room was quite hot at night when I was there because of the hot weather at that time. But there is a ventilator for some fresh wind and I slept with the windows open. Staff is friendly, speaks english and is very helpful. All for a reasonable price.
Review 105:Given that it was July it would have been nice to have had air-conditioning rather than a fan. The room we had only had one window which was very high up and so even with the fan the room was hot and stuffy. Rooms looking into the central courtyard would be better.
Review 106:The location, plus the fact that the staff are friendly and polite. The rooms at the back are quiet. An excellent breakfast.
Review 107:Nothing :-)
Review 108:Excellent location within the city. There was a fan in my room which was essential because it was so hot that weekend - I wouldn't have been able to cope without it. Room was simple and comfortable, just right. And someone has put some thought into their guests' comfort because the TV's volume was restricted to a certain level so people wouldn't disturb each other with the noise. I've suffered that many times so was pleasantly surprised!
Review 109:Perhaps a bar fridge!
Review 110:The reception was warm and helpful despite our broken French. After a small problem with a hair-dryer, we were given a replacement and a discount. Breakfast was delightful. Best of all, the hotel has an ideal location - very close to the most famous square and several streets and squares of pavement cafes and restaurants that were overflowing on a summers evening.
Review 111:Great location in old town. Spacious clean renovated room with great shower on courtyard so windows open at night. Very quiet. Continental breakfast OK but terrific croissants available from bakery nearby if that's all you want with a cup of tea and juice. Nancy is lovely and really jumps on Friday night with bands in every square.
Review 112:The only thing that wasn't perfect was the lack of a carpet in the shower so it was slipping :( (Room 210)
Review 113:Awesome hotel staff and hotel. Was stuck in Nancy because of buisness trip and enjoyed it!
Review 114:Beautiful older building, very nice inside. Great location and very friendly staff. The room was very clean. No real complaints, I would stay there again.
Review 115:A small grumble: the coffee wasn't hot enough in the morning
Review 116:I liked the location; the breakfast menu; friendly staff; I also liked the building itslef:the handsome flight of stairs; the little courtyard with the welll,
Review 117:Could do with some up dating of rooms especially bathroom. Quite a small room for a four day stay. Wi fi poor on second floor. A fair walk from station.
Review 118:This was a lovely old building right in the heart of old nancy. We stayed four nights and I dont think there was anywhere of this quality for the price near by. After exploring town this is def the area to be.Breakfast typical continental ours was inc in deal not sure i would pay €9.50 plenty of good bakers near by.
Review 119:Good hotel. Breakfast bit "French" (no saucages, no eggs) but offering of fruit, orange juice, etc. In general good. The new rooms on the ground floor / inner court could have carpet instead of linoleum. Clean however. If you go for romance you should probably ask for one of the older rooms on the +1 or higher floor. There is no special need to ask for a room on the inside, because the street is very quiet. This hotel is recommendable for your Nancy trip because the quality is good and you are very close to the city center.
Review 120:we have stayed at this hotel before its perfect foe an overnight stop on route elsewhere and has a good deal of character it has recently been refurbished and we were upgraded to a larger room hevce it represented very good value eexcellent.
Review 121:Breakfast could have been better for 9€ - Paris hotel breakfast, same week-same price was superior in terms of quality and choice but this would not put me off returning.
Review 122:Location; Friendly staff; Good design.Comfy room and pleasant atmosphere.
Review 123:The main problem for me was the number of steps. There is no elevator in the hotel, and although the staircase is beautiful, it still requires quite an effort to take suitcases up and down the stairs. Beyond the main staircase, access to my room also require going up/down more steps. Good exercise, but not easy with suitcases.
Review 124:I liked the Logis de Guise very much due to its historic setting. The building has been wonderfully restored and my room was large and comfortable. It was very quiet and I truly enjoyed the lovely decor. The staff was very friendly and well-versed in information that helped my to enjoy my stay. The room and the hallways were delightful.
Review 125:There was no elevator. There was no air conditioner. We were on the third floor and the window didn't have any safety bars and the bottom of it was very low, maybe coming up just a few inches above the knee. So, it was worrisome to leave it open while we slept out of fear that someone would stumble into (and out of) it during the night.
Review 126:The hotel was within walking distance of the train station and the World Heritage sites. The hotel was lovely, a 300-400 year old building with a grand staircase. The decor was very nice. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was not included. The staff was friendly and helpful. They informed us upon our arrival that there was a light and music show at the Place Stanislas that night. We went and it was awesome. We wouldn't have know about it if they hadn't taken the time to tell us.
