Reviews for Le Stanislas

Review 1:It would be worth to repair the bathroom floor and have a cleaner curtain. But they are new owners and very young. Let them a chance to progress (and high probably the rate :))

Review 2:The owner's kindness and the absolute proximity of the Stanislas place are two very good points for this modest hotel.

Review 3:very central for sightseeing- just a stroll to Stanislaus square. Free overnight parking outside the door, and the owner indicated where we could park for free nearby and then catch a tram back into the city- this worked very well on both days.

Review 4:The ratio quality price is excellent. The room is large, very quiet even on the street. the staff is very nice and helpful. it is very central some meters from the nicest place in Nancy (stanislas place)

Review 5:they need to really updgrade their facilities, rooms could be cleaner, had to ask for shampoo and soap

Review 6:good wifi connection, croissant in breakfast was excellent, location is good

Review 7:The bathroom was very dated and there was mold on the walls near the shower and cracked tiles. Breakfast was basic and parking was on the street. If you arrive before 6pm you have to pay so it is not totally free.

Review 8:Liked how close it was to the centre. The staff was good and overall the room was basic but clean.

Review 9:Carrying my bag up 58 stairs to hotel top floor, noise from manager/owner's family occupying loft apartment immediately above my room, very cramped and badly maintained dark brown tiled bathroom lacking wall bracket for shower, grubby torn net curtain at window.

Review 10:Location in quiet street close to beautiful city centre, easy street parking outside, quirky antiqued room decor.

Review 11:We picked a two star hotel, but even in such an establishment we expect cleanness. The bed cover had stains, the outdated bathroom was really dusty, the shower had plenty of nasty mold. It didn't look cleaned for our arrival. On our arrival the room was equipped with only one towel. We felt the hotel should be given much more "love"..., and it is not money what we mean.

Review 12:The location of the hotel just next to Stanislas square and multiple restaurants. Free parking within walking distance, a friendly receptionist. Three modest breakfast types to choose from. The building of the hotel is nice, has a lot of shabby chic charm, but...

Review 13:Stinginess with towels Rickety, creaky bed Broken vinyl folding curtain shielding the toilet

Review 14:Location Cleanliness Attention to details for the decor

Review 15:I was faced with a problem as soon as I arrived. There is no parking and there was a high step or two to enter the hotel. As I am handycapped and can not raise my leg it was not possible to enter hotel standing up. Had to just about crawl in and shoufel along floor util I got to steps inside and then sit up each step till I was able to stand up and go my room. The room was nice and clean and decorated and bathroom not made for handy capped I manged. Except for this things were ok. Had nice breakfest in morning and the young lady at desk was as helpfull as she be. I check out next morning as it was senless for me to stay there.

Review 16:Room was nice and clean and nicely decorated. Bathroon was ok and the young lady at the front desk was as helpfull as she could be being I am on the large side and she was not. People need to check when some one indicates that they are handy capped and hotel is not able to accomodate them they should not accept reservation or tell the person.

Review 17:Parking was not available nearby. It didn't help that the road was dug up while I was there. Wi fi only worked in the lobby. No lift.

Review 18:Terrific location near the amazing Place Stanislas and historic old city of Nancy. Nearby are two lovely parks and gardens and the river is close too. Polite and helpful lady in reception. My room at the back was quiet and clean and had the basic necessities.

Review 19:Rather noisy. Street noise can be reduced by double glazing but it was hot. Floor covered by laminate and the person above us was very noisy. Furniture a bit tired.

Review 20:Location, friendly staff and good wifi.

Review 21:The fact that this hotel boasts "free on-site parking - no reservation necessary". There is no on-site parking, free or otherwise. Only parking in street is pay parking and none was available. We had to park 15 minutes walk away in a multi-storey car park which when you have luggage and are in your 70's is not very clever. Shower in bathroom was diabolical. Filthy dirty and full of cracks. I wouldn't go anywhere near shower cubical. I don't mind basic but I do insist on clean. This place was no better than a low rated hostel. Receptionist had attitude and was less than helpful. All in all a very bad experience.

Review 22:Not a lot. Bed linen was clean. Good Internet connection.

Review 23:I didnt like not being able to get into my room when I arrived at 1:00pm as I had to carry my bag around until 4 30pm.

Review 24:The location and the comfy bed.

Review 25:The lovely man at reception.

Review 26:Location, friendliness

Review 27:This hotel provided a delightful stay for those on a budget,. Everything one expects in a small 2 star hotel.

Review 28:Location

Review 29:Excellent value for money. Yes, rooms are small, but you can't beat the location - or the price.

Review 30:Very friendly staff, helpful city map

Review 31:Low price was reflected in average standard. Bathroom out-dated.

Review 32:Location so near the place Stanislas is fabulous for the price.

Review 33:showers need some maintenance

Review 34:location, "un-french" good breakfast

Review 35:Location and large room. Manager spoke good English and was helpful.

Review 36:the laundry in sacks in the hall next morning

Review 37:the breakfast

Review 38:Too small room, Breakfest could be richer Working hours of reception could be longer, to help with late check in

Review 39:Very good localization

Review 40:Near the historical square in Nancy. Free wifi. Separate tiolet and shower. TV. Friendly staffs.

Review 41:Room was right next to water system which became loud at times

Review 42:Nice size room

Review 43:Located in an old, centrally-located mansion. The owner of the place was super friendly and cool.

Review 44:Noise early in the morning up and down the street

Review 45:Very thin walls, we could hear kids running on the staircase and on the floor above us.

Review 46:Location, staff recommendations were good, room style

Review 47:smelly toilet

Review 48:location

Review 49:Location - close to Opera/restaurants/bars/shops.

Review 50:We chose this hotel over a number of other candidates solely because it offered free parking on site, and this was confirmed on the reservation confirmation. In fact, this hotel has no parking on site of any kind, so this was a blatant lie. You can park on the street outside (paying during business hours), if you can find a space (which we couldn't) or you are directed to a free car park several blocks away, where we were reluctant to leave our car overnight. Apart from that major objection, the room was in poor condition, with a light fitting and the bedhead pulling away from the wall, and mould in the shower. Good price for the location, but the drawbacks are too great.

Review 51:The location so close to Stanislas Square

Review 52:Bed was rather short, made worse by "decorative" cushions at head of the bed taking up some of the length. Could not get in before 4pm, even though we had a reservation.

Review 53:Convenient location, good bathroom, reasonable breakfast

Review 54:The hotel seems to be run by one person. If you arrive before 3.30 in the afternoon, it's all locked up, but you can ring the displayed number and get the key code so you can leave your baggage inside until reception is open. There is short term pay parking in the street outside, sufficient for loading/unloading if you're lucky enough to find a space. The room could be hot in the summer as there is no aircon, and the front rooms open onto a busy street.

Review 55:This hotel is literally five minutes walk from Place Stanislas, the centre of attraction on Nancy. There is a large free car park about 200 m away, where we left our car for three days while we walked around the town.

Review 56:Given the very reasonable room rates and the helpfulness of the staff, it seems churlish to criticize. However, the late check-in is a nuisance. Telling the hotel of an earlier arrival does not always work and lugging one's case around Nancy until the appointed hour is not much fun! Virtually no wardrobe space - in fact the "wardrobe" is a corner of the room where you can only hang your clothes diagonally. Not enough space for toiletries in the bathroom either.

Review 57:The hotel is very well situated near to Place Stanislas and the tourist sites. For anyone visiting the Opéra National de Lorraine, the hotel's proximity is a real plus as you can fall out of the opera house and into bed! The staff are very helpful. The hotel rooms are good value for money and the breakfast, though not particular exciting, is perfectly adequate.

Review 58:The breakfast was French (only sweet stuff like croissant, jam, butter, honey, cereals, coffee, tea, milk etc)

Review 59:Location is great, just 2 minutes from the city center (Place Stanislas, cathedral, etc); the atmosphere is friendly, cozy; the rooms are small but well equipped (I had a double room - single use) and tidy.

Review 60:Couldn't find free parking in reasonable distance of hotel. Found on street parking restrictive/expensive; as was multi-storey car park nearby. However didn't impact too much for our short stay!!

Review 61:Location excellent for Place Stanislas & adjoining park.Good value room rate/breakfast.Room clean & comfortable.

Review 62:My room (single) was very small and also the cupboard was small. There was little space to put my things and no tables in the room. It should be ammodernized. There is no lift, no common space, tv has only french channels.

Review 63:It is an old-style hotel in the city centre. People at the reception are very kind.

Review 64:No parking at hotel. Free parking space is available but not guaranteed. Takes patience to find a free spot.

Review 65:Perfect location to visit the historical town. So close to Place Stanislas. Free Public parking a few minutes walk from hotel. A superb park nearby with an amazing diversity of trees, bushes, shrubs, flowers, walking paths etc.

Review 66:Booking advised on-site parking. In fact there was NO parking at all and hotel was in busy city area. Difficult!!!!

Review 67:Location very good. Lady on duty very pleasant and helpful

Review 68:Not so easy to find a parking place. Room for two person with a narrow bed. A Dirty pillow or at least a very old one on the bed.

Review 69:The location next to place Stanislas, the price and the situation in a quiet street.

Review 70:Parking was a short away, but only if all the spaces in the streets around the hotel are taken. We did hear a tiny bit of noise from the street, but our window was open. Need to remember though the hotel is in a city and cities have a tendency to be noisy places. Hardly the fault of the Hotel.

Review 71:The location is perfect, the staff were friendly and informative. Free Wifi.

Review 72:The building wasn't in perfect condition -- the vent cover in my room was only held on by screws on one side, for instance. But I'd certainly rather stay in a clean hotel with issues like that than a dirty one with otherwise perfect maintenance!

Review 73:The location was fantastic, the room was clean, and the wifi was so strong that I could make long Skype calls with video.

Review 74:There was paid parking outside the hotel but there were no spaces as we arrived on a Sunday. We understood when we booked the that there was free parking nearby. There was no lift and the stairs were quite steep. Ideal for an overnight but would prefer greater comfort if staying longer. Not as good value as other 2 star hotels

Review 75:The location was excellent, just a five minute walk to the main square. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Review 76:The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the pillows were typicalhotel pillows - flat and lumpy!

Review 77:It was in an excellent location and the rate was great at €49 per nightwith continental breakfast for €6. You were given a key to the frontdoor so you could come and go at whatever time you liked.

Review 78:Lack of wardrobe space (in Room 35) and lack of space generally - the large double bed took up most of the room.

Review 79:A budget friendly, family hotel with proximity to the Opera and Nancy's tourists sites.

Review 80:Shower ti les were durty with fungus. Head shower wasnt attach to the wall making shower a whole ofrece experience. Only location will work cocar this hotel is 100 mts rom Stanislas square

Review 81:A simple, basic hotel in a perfect location, with all you need if you don't want fancy feature, but just a nice and clean staying, for a very good price. Recommended!

Review 82:Bathroom a bit cramped. No lift to upper floors which could be a problem for some people especially those on the 4th floor.

Review 83:Excellent location.Parking available in area, free from 19.00 to 9.00. Clean room and bathroom .

Review 84:there is no parking - the available parking is a 5 minute drive away (and similar to walk back) and is a public car park

Review 85:great location and good price for central Paris (easy access to Metro stations and walking distance from Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge). Staff very friendly / helpful with great English. We had a 'garden' room - which means if faces a courtyard terrace but is away from road noise.

Review 86:There is no elevator, which may make it difficult for elderly travelers to carry their luggage up to the top floor.

Review 87:The location is good. It is a short walk from the Stanislas Square.

Review 88:Ground floor is not comfortable People can see you in windows

Review 89:Location is wonderful Just some steps from place Stanislas Room is big I orded single room but i have double room Bathroom is big

Review 90:A minor point: I would have preferred if the shower head had a holder on the wall.

Review 91:Great location within walking distance of main square and other attractions.

Review 92:The beds matrasses are from really poor quality (unless you're named the hunchback).

Review 93:Excellent location for a city trip to Nancy (from here its just a 2 minute walk to the main square). Nice stylish ambiance and small scaled (which is nice). We used this hotel as a sleepover to break our trip to southern France into two days. Would come here again for a city trip.

Review 94:The strange way reception worked there was no one there , we had to use an intercom and then were told which room we had and to pick up the key that was on the desk. then the door opened and we saw no one until breakfast. very strange way to operate

Review 95:It was near the Stanislas Square the we wanted to see

Review 96:No official parking spaces so you have to park in the street and this isdependent on there being spaces available. You can only check in after5pm which meant I had to wait a few hours before I could unload my bagsand access my room. Breakfast was not fantastic, coffee was horrible andnot much selection. There weren't enough tables for all the clients so Ihad to wait a while to be served and I had an important meeting to getto. These things were minor issues as the most important thing for mewas that the room was quiet, clean, and pleasant.

Review 97:Clean rooms, quiet, tastefully decorated.

Review 98:,..Sleep with good mattress.. The host and hostess are very friendly...And good breakfast...and this hotel is near by Stanislas square so U can see late-night view... safely... ..it's...just....good hotel..

Review 99:Bathroom disappointing.

Review 100:Very family feel to the hotel. Friendly welcome - helpful information given. Very comfy beds a.nd good value breakfast. Ground floor bedroom very helpful for member of family with limited mobility

Review 101:Heat was turned off during the day which made the room quite uncomfortable to return to in the evening. We chose not to have the room cleaned the 2nd day and thus kept the heat on ourselves. Had it not been during a cold spell in France this would not have been an issue, but it was very cold and snowy so the lack of heat the first day made an impression,

Review 102:Courteous staff, large room and large bathroom.

Review 103:No tea or coffee making facilities in room is a big disapointment ashotel is listed as 2 star especialy as other non star rated French b&b /hotels have provided this facility. Shower head holder missing inshower, this was also missing in friends room although both had screwholes where fitting had been. Simple improvements would make a bigdifference to guests stay.

Review 104:Excelent location within easy walking distance of shops, parks, bars &restaurants. Although hotel is centrally located, there is no noise frompeople or traffic early in the morning or late in the evening. Will stayagain when in Nancy but would like owners / management to take note ofwhat I didn't like.

Review 105:parking wasn't easy to find, on account of roadworks outside the hotel.

Review 106:lovely bedroom, great bed, good location, friendly staff.

Review 107:Difficult to find with a car because of pedestrian district

Review 108:lack of on-site parking facilities as specifically sought and promised by booking.com

Review 109:proximity to main square, town centre, art gallery

Review 110:Staff very helpful and very well located

Review 111:Dated facilities

Review 112:Perfect location

Review 113:A bit cold in the room.

Review 114:Location, helpfull staff, offered me a larger room for the same price

Review 115:The hotel is just a stone throw from major attractions.

Review 116:a little dark on the staircase--never did find that light switch!

Review 117:excellent location;cosy; helpful staff

Review 118:Free parking is too far, but not boring too mach.Bathroom is too small not cosy. Hotel for one night, not more.

Review 119:the room, no bracket on the wall to hold shower head, bed very uncomfortable, no on site parking

Review 120:near to the town

Review 121:Great Location, nice clean bright room, great value breakfast.

Review 122:staff & location
