Reviews for Le Couvent
Review 1:Fabulous place! It was the best place during our trip (we changed 8 hotels)! Atmosphere, interior, room, bath, breakfast - all was perfect! The separate thanks for the music :) and cats! P.S. if you don't like cats, don't worry, I followed them, not vise versa ))
Review 2:Roll top bath in our room looked lovely but was purely ornamental not plumbed in? The Host, although efficient was a little absent and therefore difficult to ask advice about area, restaurants etc.....
Review 3:Situation is ideal for exploring the region.....Breakfast is superb....Saturday market is extraordinaire....good choice of restaurants within walking distance.
Review 4:No lift, poor service and no help from reception ! Very difficult access , parking outside. Looks messy and not clean . It does not look like on photos ! Avoid APT city : old ,dark, dead and does not feel safe. Horrible restaurants !
Review 5:Nothing! Nothing !
Review 6:Sometimes I wished Laurent was around a bit more to get suggestions ...and a bit more English
Review 7:I have stayed here before and loved it so recommended staying here again to friends. It's centrally located so you can visit a lot of villages!
Review 8:Beautiful building and splendidly decorated with many extra touches (a pretty ribbon around the extra roll of toilet paper). Spacious rooms. Baskets of lavender made everything smell heavenly -- appropriate for a former convent? Delicious breakfast served in a lovely room. Charming hosts! Highly recommend!
Review 9:Wifi was poor as was room temperature (stuffy, no air conditioning)
Review 10:Beautiful renovated convent in main town in the Luberon, close to main attractions such as Gordes, Rousillion, etc excellent free breakfast and luxurious roooms
Review 11:Laurent and Marie seem to be quite pleasant once you make the effort, but they show no initiative when it comes to interacting with the guests and making them feel welcome. I'm not sure what the reason is since the building itself has great potential for a B&B. The breakfasts were adequate, but considering the beautiful array of French cheeses that are available, to put processed cheese on the table for breakfast is definitely disappointing.
Review 12:Great location for visiting the outstanding Saturday market as well as surrounding areas. Unfortunately, Apt itself is rather drab and not worth a visit by itself unless for the market. We had a beautiful bedroom on the 4th floor (no lift) with windows on both sides which allowed for a cool breeze in view of the lack of air conditioning. The pool was welcome relief in view of the summer heat. Free parking is available just outside. The Wifi can be iffy.
Review 13:The online images, for some reason, gave us the impression that Le Couvent was in a peaceful, secluded spot. This was our mistake in not looking further into the situation. Apt is very busy and not particularly quaint. Le Couvent was right in the heart of this. The room was very warm and we tried to stay out until late, hoping it would cool down. This made us feel like we were trying to stay away from our lodging. Repairs were needed in shower and faucet leaks; tiles loose on the stairs, ect. Not much effort was put toward breakfast. And the owner seemed rather indifferent to the needs of his guests. Overall, we got the feeling that the owner was perhaps burnt-out and wasn't particularly interested in the quality of his property any longer.
Review 14:The potential of the old convent could have been very nice. The shower strength was good. The wifi was quick. The breakfast was OK.
Review 15:There was nothing we didnt like.
Review 16:Friendly helpful energetic host. Excellent continental breakfast. Excellent location in old town. Stylish renovation preserved building. Swimming pool a bonus.
Review 17:Wifi wouldn't work in our room but did work by the pool and in the breakfast room!
Review 18:A good but simple breakfast. Plenty of choice of good restaurants within walking distance. I suspect that the age and size of the building will keep it cool over the heat of the summer.
Review 19:it was not easy to find the hotel via navi system because ist leads through the narrow historic streets. But there is a public parking right in front of the hotel.
Review 20:We stayed there for one night to visit Roussillon and the area around. The historic Le Couvent is an excellent location with a very friendly owner.
Review 21:Great atmosphere with a really wonderful host. And loved the bathroom with its dubble showers!!! Also, the breakfast was rather impressive. All in all we felt well looked after and left with a very good impression!
Review 22:Checkin time is 5 pm and not one minute sooner. Do not even let you leave luggage earlier than 5 pm. Owners not present and only see them at checkin, not very personable, hardly polite.
Review 23:Atmosphere very good and location very close to the Saturday market.
Review 24:Wonderful accommodation, sympathetic restoration of a fantastic building. Spacious and very comfortable, a great location to explore the Luberon from. Highly recommended, great value.

Review 27:Huge room at the top of a former convent. Really liked the outside roof terrace and the small pool. Friendly owner and a good place to tour the Luberon.
Review 28:The town of Apt isn't anything special. Restaurant service there is generally poor. That being said it serves as a great base for getting into all the hill towns close by. Several gems only 15 mins away.

Review 61:Beautiful hotel. Huge windows, spacious room, big bathroom. Lots of attention to detail throughout the property. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Wish we had more time to spend here.
Review 62:You carry your luggage up stairs. The staff doesn't speak much English but enough to transact business.
Review 63:It has spacious rooms with a sitting area. Large bathroom with two sinks. Lg closet. Uniqued atmosphere with interesting remnants of the past convent. Nice filling breakfast. Private yard to relax in and beautiful.
Review 64:Good location - plenty of free parking nearby (best to avoid 5pm when schools come out!!) Easy walk to restaurants etc ( can recommend La Galetière) Very comfortable atmosphere, easy going proprietor good breakfast and 'honesty box' for minibar - wish others would copy this idea!

Review 66:Very tastefully restored old convent with large rooms. The breakfast was excellent and included in the room price. the owner went out of his way to be helpful and was charming to boot.
Review 67:The pool is not that appealing.
Review 68:Family-run business, spacious rooms and bathroom, clean, in an impressive building. Breakfast is great, with home-made bread and jams, different types of green and black tea. Charming little terrace. And fat cats lying in the sun :-)

The rooms are huge and decorated with a lot of style, the bathrooms are also huge and modern, the beds are so comfortable and the pool outside is dreamy! We will go back to this place as soon as we have the chance!
Review 73:Apt is not as charming as the little villages around but with a car we found the location very good and the hotel excellent.
Review 74:The room was bigger than our apartment at home. Everything in the hotel was beautiful, the room, the garden.
Review 75:Some of the home improvement isn't totally done yet. The poolwasn't ready when we were there.
Review 76:Very warm and cozy. The bathrooms are modern and yet maintaining some ofthe historical touch. The owner has put a lot of thoughts to this placefrom the breakfast to the rooms. Wasn't expected to have internet atthis historical site and yet it was very fast. Great information fromthe owner on restaurant recommendations and sights to see. Highlyrecommend folks to stay here on your way to Sault.
Review 77:The hotel has a policy that you can only check in between 17.00hrs and 20.00. I arrived soon after mid day, hoping to spend the afternoon by the pool as it was 25c. The front door was locked with a note explaining the above. To be fair to the hotel, it did include this restriction on my booking form. I just didn't notice.
Review 78:Very pleasant and enthusiastic owner. Very large and impressive room, although had to carry suitcase up four flights of stairs.
Review 79:Having to leave at the end of our stay!
Review 80:Beautiful, sympathetic refurb of former convent so tastefully done. Handy for Apt old city and for visiting local 'hill villages'. Comfortable bed.
Review 81:Very big, light and tidy rooms, music at bathroom and funny owner made very pleasant stay at the hotel, thought it was too short(( We arrived at 2am and still be wellcommed
Review 82:I didn't like the city of Apt. I would stay at other cities in Provence where there is a better selection of restaurants. It would be an ok base to go to other villages as it was affordable and relaxing but not a fun place to walk around at night. Warning. The Couvent needs lighting or needs to give its guest flash lights. We had to go up several flights of steps as there is no elevator and it was pitch black. We were a little uneasy about the lack of lighting. We're understanding as this B and B is a work in progress and will one day be major gem! Owner is passionate about his project and we were impressed with all he's done. I highly recommend the Couvent if you are staying in apt. It's reasonable and an experience you don't want to miss. Just bring a flash light!
Review 83:I liked the history of the convent and how the current owners took the property over and have slowly rehabbed it. They serve a wonderful breakfast and the rooms are large and comfortable. Bathrooms are nice as well. Enjoyed the drinks provided in the room! Lots of free parking as well. The Couvent has a lot of charm.
Review 84:The pool is just a plunge pool really and not quite as glamorous as in the picture.
