Reviews for Hotel Des Falaises
Review 1:Very good location of the Hotel in the Tourism center. Familly Room very convenient. Delicious French Type Breakfast: good selection of products Bread and Croissants, coffee could be better.
Review 2:This hotel is old, the interior requires significant repairs and renovations. There was strange odor in the room. The general appeal of the hotel is below average. WiFi did not work at all.
Review 3:The location of the hotel is great, it is very close to the beach. Breakfast was nice, but the assortment of the buffet was kind of limited (sufficient for one night stand, but definitely not suitable for a week-long vacation), however I appreciate fresh squeezed orange juice.
Review 4:Perfect location, close to beach and restaurants. Copious breakfast with fresh bread, croissants and nice joice of jams. Friendly staff. Reduced fee for municipality parking with voucher from hotel.
Review 5:wifi was spotty, but hey, we weren't there to sit around on Instagram :)
Review 6:AMAZING location in the center of everything - literally a 5 min. stroll to the beach and the famous cliffs. Very cozy room with top-notch bathroom facilities (ensuite). Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit, cheese, different jams and honey, local yogurt, coffee, hot chocolate, croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice. Outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 7:It said English spoken on the window, but nobody spoke or understood English. The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful. We had bad weather, they were unable or unwilling to give us any information because of this. Wifi was hardly accessible, so we could not look it up ourselves. The shower was either too hot or too cold and overall it was no value for the money we paid. (€476 for 4 nights,2 people, me and my daughter)
Review 8:The location was perfect. 50 m from the beach. Unfortunately we only had 1 afternoon of sunny weather.
Review 9:Being in Etretat, and in this key location is great. You can base in there your stay and walk everywhere in minutes. The location is the best active of the hotel. Employees are also great in their jobs.
Review 10:Staff doesn't speak english even though advertised. No lift and our room was on the 3rd floor so it was very hard. Breakfast was basic, but we had to wait for everything such as plates. No hair dryer. Room size very tiny, so don't believe the pictures. Parking was a nightmare, don't forget to make a reservation for parking because it is impossible to find a parking spot in the city. The staff is clueless they wanted to charge us twice at check out.
Review 11:Location was good.
Review 12:Parking had to be figured out by ourselves. The WiFi was not really functioning well. Also we found the room a bit small and crammed. We expected more for the price, but of course this is a very popular destination. You really pay for the location. Apart from the bread the breakfast was quite meager.
Review 13:We liked the location (the proximity to the beach and to the restaurants). The staff was friendly. The bread at the breakfast was great.
Review 14:Room was very small. The double bed was smaller than 131cm. Toilet had no shower curtain so it was very wet after a shower. Most importantly, there was no private garage parking and no English speaking receptionist as advertised. Breakfast was only french loaves/ croissant/ tea/ coffees and some spread plus a small glass or orange juice. No hams/ eggs/ beans/ sausages.
Review 15:Wifi connection was good.
Review 16:Had to park the car on the parking not so close. Breakfast was real French: kruassans, white bread and much jam: no normal cheese or meat to put on the bread. Room was very very small, difficult to pass by the bed to the bathroom :)))
Review 17:Close to the beach, very good bed and matras
Review 18:Breakfast had to wait for milk as they had run out! Could do with plates to eat breakfast croissants etc.
Review 19:Staff helpful and accommodating when asked to change rooms with another shower.
Review 20:My boyfriend had an allergic reaction after the bed bugs it was just horrible, but the stuff was great they changed our room immediately. To be fair the rooms were super clean, we really think that it was cause of the pet that was in the room before.
Review 21:Parking was terrible. The hotel does not have enough spots in the nearby lot set aside and we had to park very far away. It might influence where I choose to stay next time.
Review 22:The location for visiting the town of Etretat was very good. One is easily able to walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. While it doesn't have a lot of character,it was clean and efficient. Breakfast was sufficient and pleasant.
Review 23:Front desk staff did not speak much english. We made it work with thefew words I was able to say in french or she was able to say in english, but it could be a bit deceiving for travelers because based on thiswrite up you would not expect that. The other issue is the shower had noshower curtain, which means if you want to get a shower the wholebathroom might be getting a shower at the same time
Review 24:Based on other reviews of this place I was not expecting to be wowed, but we had a pleasant stay here. The room size was nice, the staff triedto help us as much as they could, and the hotel was very well situatedin the center of town. Breakfast was included and simple butsufficient.. This was a nice change of pace after other places want tocharge highway robbery prices for breakfast which is only somecroissants and bread anyway
Review 25:The hotel provides parking in a garage boxes at the edge of the city. The entrance is rather low. So if you have a minivan or a sky-box on top of your car, you cannot use the garage box.
Review 26:Location
Review 27:The "modern" design of the Reception area could be more typical of the regional architecture and furniture... Otherwise all good!
Review 28:Prime location, excellent breakfast, very kind personnel!
Review 29:Parking is nightmare on holiday season, but so it is everywhere in Etretat. Breakfast was just basics, but adequate for that.
Review 30:Very central location with everything close. Good for what it is with no thrills.
Review 31:No lift or help to climb three floors of narrow stairs to our room. We liked the room, the view and the bathroom was modern and efficient. Breakfast was OK, but rather inefficiently served.
Review 32:It was right in the centre of Etretat and street parking proved possible not too far away.
Review 33:we can't speak franch very well. when make a phone or sent a email, not easy to get reply in English
Review 34:easy to find the hotel, very close to sea.Staffs are friendly and helpful.marks map when answering how to go to somewhere detaily.
Review 35:We can`t park the car at the private parkingplace . Personell didn`t speak englisch good.
Review 36:The room was nice, and the vieuw was excellent, just as the place of the hotel.
Review 37:I shared a room with my 2 children and it was a bit dusty and the tiny bathroom didn't have curtains or cover to contain shower water, so it was messy after every shower. On the contrary, my parents room was much cleaner and bathroom bigger. Parking is a problem: you must find a place in some parking which can be difficult during busy weekends
Review 38:Breakfast was good, staff was very kind, but the location of the place is right in the heart of Etretat
Review 39:Poor English, difficult to communnicate
Review 40:Good and friendly staff
Review 41:room facilities were broken (no towel hunger, one of night lump) staff were not so kind
Review 42:location and breakfast
Review 43:very basic hotel, no atmosphere, no bar or lounge area
Review 44:location
Review 45:No lift, room too small. Too hot in the bedroom.
Review 46:Location is great. Friendly staff.great breakfast.
Review 47:parking is too far from the hotel
Review 48:When we arrived there were no towels in our room. The bath was not clean
Review 49:LOCATION
Review 50:Value for money !
Review 51:In the center of the town Breakfast
Review 52:Great location , very close to Beach and the centre of town , comfortable and nice continental breakfast. good value for a family room.
Review 53:No hair dryer No slippers
Review 54:Location Breakfast
Review 55:size of room bathroom floor yucky shower not hot enough
Review 56:location friendly staff
Review 57:Nothing
Review 58:Room was awesome, well-decorated. Bed was really comfortable. Location was awesome!
Review 59:Cleaniness
Review 60:Some rooms look old and the carpet.
Review 61:Situation is good and breakfast too when the orange juice is natural
Review 62:Excellent location
Review 63:No wifi available.
Review 64:Good location, big clean room. Breakfast was also ok.
Review 65:No tea making facility in the room
Review 66:The sea view was great with a stunning sunset. comfy bed, nice and clean. Good breakfast.
Review 67:Parking was hard to find and far from the hotel. Location and breakfast were very good. No shower curtain in the bathroom.
Review 68:non-smoking room was polluted by smoke from cigarettes - hotel was full, so no chance to change the room, quite noisy from other rooms but we were ready for that and used earplugs for sleeping
Review 69:location and parking in garage
Review 70:Room was dim. Doors and furniture were creaky. No soundproofing at all, I can hear every conversation from the recept as my room was next to it.
Review 71:2min walk to the beach. There is food everywhere near the hotel. Hotel staff do not speak English but it's part of the small french town charm. The only people in town who can speak English are those at the info centre and maybe those souvenir shops.
Review 72:Parking is hard to find in Estretat!!! We had booked the garage (EUR 7,00) from the hotel, which is located 10 minutes away from the hotel!!! Hard to unload your luggage when there is a lot of traffic, than you have to find the garage and walk back to the hotel (10 minutes).
Review 73:Hotel is downtown and close to the cliffs. Rooms are small.
Review 74:Bed to small. The double bed was just a big singel. Breakfast tipycal french, very pour. Weak coffe, croissant and marmelade. No private parking left. We were in eastertime and found parking free in the road, but we can imagine it will be impossible to find any space free in summertime.
Review 75:The village is very nice, with many restaurants and the beautiful cliffs.
Review 76:Room was rather small and strangely shaped. bath room was also small. For a price of 91 euro we where a bit dissapointed
Review 77:Nice looking hotel in a very nice village. Nice reception and helpfull service. Dog was no problem and although 45 kg no additional charge.
Review 78:Minor drawback is the small area of the room, but as I said, why sit in a room when it's so much fun
Review 79:Very comfortable and great value for money. The seaside hand fall ... The town itself is small and hotel in the center, breakfast is small and simple, but we liked it, especially every morning by 4 huge piece of baguette and kruosan with incomparable Camembert, jams and preserves, cappuccino and muesli) We are in the room just rested and slept in ostolnoe time walked and again ghoul
Review 80:Lack sound proofing between floors as well as room to room. The advertised English speaking staff none existent. Parking facilities not available yet advertised and requested when booked in March.
Review 81:Not much, breakfast was about the best aspect of the hotel. Location
Review 82:Etretat overrun with people at weekends! Difficult to find hotel in narrow busy streets. Parking difficult.Might recommend with reservations !! (But not at weekends)
Review 83:Very helpful staff. Easy access to beach and cliff areas.
Review 84:Had reserved parking which turned out to be 10mins walk from hotel. Could be a problem for someone with limited mobility.
Review 85:Location excellent. Nicely refurbished bathroom with good shower.
Review 86:Offered parking place is on suburb of Etretat - information inbooking.com was "the parking is on neighbouring streets"
Review 87:Localisation in the center of Etretat and close to beach, viewfrom the room
Review 88:The breakfast is pretty poor and could not be recommended. We had no hot water on the morning we were leaving and no reasonable explanation could be provided for this.
Review 89:The hotel is conveniently located next to les falaises and the bedroom itself was comfortable. The bathroom shower were also of reasonable size and spec. overall you get a good deal for the price.
Review 90:Our room was extremely small - though a smaller room is to be expected for this rate, we have never experienced something like this. No closets and almost no way to move through the room once the luggage was put next to the beds. Also the number of private parking was very limited - a big (and cheap) parking space was a available within 10 walking minutes, hence we did not have much of a problem - this could have been better advertised though.
Review 91:Room very crammed and light over desk not working. This hotel advertises private parking nearby whereas the actual parking is 700 metres away which is not exactly nearby. It is also almost impossible to park ouside the hotel to drop off luggage as it is on a narrow one way street. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with a car.
Review 92:Good breakfast.
Review 93:The staff didn't speak much English, but we figured everything out anyway. Rooms are very small - we had a triple and it had a double bed and a twin bed and just enough room to walk around all sides. Bathroom was nice. My major complaint was that they advertise Parking Garage. When we arrived, we were told "no" and were forced to find street parking which is non-existant in Etretat. It's all pay parking. We ended up parking about 1km away, leaving our bags in the car so as to not haul them, took what we needed for the night, and walked to the hotel. It really was okay - but to advertise Parking Garage and not fulfill on that is pretty bad. Also, we visited in mid-May and the weather was cold/rainy, so many of the restaurants and street side cafes which would normally be open and bustling were closed or closed early due to lack of patrons.
Review 94:I liked the proximity to the Cliffs of Normandy and the central location in town. Surrounded by all restaurants.
Review 95:No car parking or English spoken as claimed to be at hotel directed bystaff to park car in public car park to find in morning that we wereboxed in by market stallholders, Thursdays being market day. Room8,bathroom and room was small and awkward to get around bed and thetoilet door.Decor was tired.
Review 96:Centre of town near beach front
Review 97:a bit too small rooms but to be honest it for the price you paid you wouldn't mind this minor detail
Review 98:they allowed pets without overcharging it was very clean shower was excellent very good location easy to check in and out
Review 99:No tea/coffee available in the room or after breakfast in the restaurant.
Review 100:Excellent location, two minutes from the beach. Friendly staff and clean with modern decor.
Review 101:bathroom and bath's size (really small)
Review 102:Close to see, free WiFi
Review 103:the staffs speak little english, and wifi isn't good in room.
Review 104:very close to the viewpoint & clean.
Review 105:kindness, location, parking
Review 106:wifi wasn't working.
Review 107:The room was on the third floor. No lift available.
Review 108:Location: 100m from the beach. A garage is offered with an extra cost and is 10 minutes walk away.
Review 109:dirty and old room and bath! hear the neighbor
Review 110:nothing
Review 111:Very small and old room; the staff is not friendly.
Review 112:Breakfast was served late, rushed and not complete
Review 113:great location for cliff walks, beach and resturants
Review 114:parking was extra and 1 mile away
Review 115:We liked the location and the view from our room
Review 116:A good place to stay - centrally located
Review 117:None of the staff spoke any English. Parking was a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel
Review 118:convenient and clean
Review 119:Excellent arrangement. Polite and sympathetic personnel
Review 120:room too small breakfast did not have much choice
Review 121:bed was comfortable
Review 122:No shower curtains in the bathroom.
