Reviews for Villa Azur Cap d'Ail

Review 1:Staff just forgot to give us towels until the next day. The beds were also not so comfortable since they were just pull out beds.

Review 2:We liked the charm of the place as well as the location. The staff was also very nice.

Review 3:Main problem was in fact the Taxi calls ....hard;Probably let guests know in advance ; also, let them know village is close 10 mins downhill, but a good climb back !!!!!; Inform guests of the excellent 100 bus service !!!!

Review 4:we prefer the freedom of apartment hols; and what really was good was own door on to terrace area with wonderful sea views; Accomodation is basic but very functional and good value; The Villa is on the Main road but rooms to the rear were not effected by noise of same

Review 5:Entry to the room was from the main and very busy street. The room was clean but rest of the building was neglected. We left the room really clean, but have to pay 50 Euro cleaning charge anyway, ridiculous.

Review 6:Room itself was large and clean.

Review 7:Negative points about Villa Azur : (1) It is not in the centre. Unless you are driving, you have to rely on public transport as the centre is not within walking distance. (2) You cannot get WiFi from the apartments, unless they are very close to the reception area. Apt#2 was not. (3) There is no internal connection between the reception area and Apartments 1 & 2. In order to get from these apartments to the reception and courtyard (where you can get WiFi) you have to go out into the busy main road and walk approx 5mtrs. This may not seem inconvenient unless, like me, you want to access the Internet at night. It’s bad enough to be on the motorway in your pyjamas at 11.30pm but it also happened to be very wet and windy during my stay, so the ‘trip’ was absolutely out of the question. This was very inconvenient. Furthermore, entrance to Apts#1 & 2 is separate and although there is a locked door leading to the apartments, the front gate from the road is open and you walk into a very dark hallway before the light sensors activate. There is a security camera, but this does not do much by way of safety. Andrea assures me this is being seen to and several projects on improving the hotel facilities, including internal access, are under way.... Also worth asking, therefore, if works will be in progress during your planned visit.

Review 8:I spent 4 nights at Villa Azur – in Apt#2. The room was a very good size with a double (folding) bed and a single sofa bed and two large bay windows overlooking the courtyard and the Cap d’Ail bay – even if this was somewhat obstructed by a large tree. It was clean and centrally heated and has a good storage space for clothing. The bathroom was rather compact but it served my purpose and I was given a 3-day supply of towels. There was also a good hairdryer – not those little things on walls.... Apt#1 has a larger bathroom which is on a lower level to the bed area. The manager, Andrea – who was very helpful throughout – offered to put me in this apartment, but I preferred to have the bathroom 2 feet away from my bed rather than 12feet away on a different level (pls note that the fireplace in Apt#1 is not functional). Studio Apt#2 has a small kitchen area with several pots and pans, crockery and cutlery plus several appliances such as iron and ironing board (small), electric kettle and coffee maker (with filters), microwave oven, 2 electric hobs and a small fridge. There was also a supply of food, probably left by previous guests, although the manager did mention that it was their intention that guests should find sufficient provisions to cook a meal on arrival, prior to stocking up. There was a packet of pasta, a jar of tomato sauce, a bottle of olive oil, 2 cans of tuna and a large packet of peanuts. The fridge contained 2 small bottles of water, 2 cans of beer, 2 colas, 2 fruit juices....and a bottle of wine! A small basket on the table contained sachets of coffee and sugar, some biscuits and 2 small tubs of jam. They don’t serve breakfast at the villa, but you can request some croissants which, unfortunately, are the store kind, not freshly baked. If you want the real McCoy, you have to make your way down – and I mean DOWN – to Cap d’Ail centre, where the shops are.

Review 9:Nothing to like. Old run down place. A trick NO VIEW of the Mediterranean Sea.

Review 10:There is nothing that I like with this home turned into hotel/apartment. 3 tall, big trees cover the entire Mediterranean Sea.Completely ZERO view. The apartment is facing a very very busy street. It was so haard to get out of the parking space to the street. Bed linens are old the place needs to be fixed The double bed creeking curtains old. and to top this a euro25.00 is added to the bill for cleaning the old place which should already be a part of the rental. What a bad bad experience. I will not recommend. A waste of time and a waste of money plus NO VIEW.

Review 11:Noisy road French taxi non existent. Monaco taxi not able to collect from France but could deliver. Strange! Wifi needs improvement. Long walk to bus.

Review 12:View great Welcome great Manager very accommodating and full of information trying very hard to please. Apartment basic but clean

Review 13:the entrance to the parking is really bad, really really weak WiFi , old apartments

Review 14:really close to Monaco if u have a car, owner was really helpful, good facilities.

Review 16:Shared a villa with the cast from Bugs Life

Review 17:Free parking

Review 18:Great location to visit Monaco & Eze Village...only a minutes away...

Review 19:Proprietor was very helpful

Review 20:Electrical hob not very efficient couldn't even get water to boiling point.

Review 21:Good location, very helpful staff & lovely apartment.

Review 22:Rooms are not clean. Ants in the kitchen. Room service is not speaking English. *Not* recommended at all

Review 23:noisy neighbors in to the night

Review 24:view of the sea, location

Review 25:The staff sent us to the city centre four times and free of charge. Perfect room.

Review 26:We enjoyed our stay there. Great value for money, interesting architecture, very central location.

Review 27:beautiful, very nice

Review 28:Busy road High above the water- nit walking distance Wifi only in public areas

Review 29:Roomy Helpful staff

Review 30:It's just beside the main road,so a little bit noisy. On the other hand, there are so much cars passing on the road,it looks a little dangerous.

Review 31:on a busy road a bit testing parking but do able

Review 32:very good for getting in and around Monaco. relaxing of an evening.

Review 33:wifi wasn't great signal, but wasn't a major issue.

Review 34:beautiful place, plenty of space

Review 35:Only stayed one night but we could not stay longer with the lack of facilities in that room. wardrobe rail 10 feet in the air needed a pole to get hangers down. No other space at all for clothes. No waste bin for kitchen area just tiny one in bathroom. Only one person could sit at the tiny indoor table without moving it about. Bedside lights not independently switched.

Review 36:Close to Monaco using the bus. owner very friendly and helpful.

Review 37:Very little contact from owners with instructions for our arrival.

Review 38:Apartment was well equipped with a basket of essentials for our arrival. Plenty if space for two people with a huge terrace and use of a large pleasant garden.

Review 39:The only slight issue was the traffic noise from the street, but sit on the balcony and enjoy the stunning view and all that fades away.

Review 40:Amazing views, clean and family friendly.

Review 41:While Kate, the owner, was very nice, she forgot to give me passport back after photocopying it and I forgot to ask for it that night. I only realized I didn't have it the next morning en route to Italy. Kate had my passport mailed (express) to a hotel I was to be staying at in Rome a few days later, rather than couriering it. The passport never arrived and I eventually had to get a replacement in Florence. The passport was lost in Rome and while Kate tried to track for a while, she eventually stopped responding to my emails altogether.

Review 42:The hotel is beautiful and we loved the accommodations, although my son was troubled by no shower, only a handheld in a tub. The view of the sea was lovely from the terrace.

Review 43:From the photo's, description & cost - I expected more. I know it's very near Monte Carlo, but at over £300 per night, for what it is, which is pretty basic, it is exorbitantly expensive. It is slap bang on a main road just round a bend - getting out of the parkings spaces is not for the faint hearted, and there is lot of road noise. There was a fridge, a microwave & a two plate hob. No oven or dish washer as the description says - so cooking/self catering would not be easy. No service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. i.e the room was not tidied, bins not emptied or bed made. There was no offer of breakfast. The "bathroom" was miniscule. Saying the sea is 500 metres away is best described as poetic license! It is as the crow flies, or by abseiling - but it is not a 500 metre walk! Ditto shops or other amenities.

Review 44:Easy access to and from Nice and Monte Carlo. The room was a good size & had a sea view. Pretty garden with good barbecue facilities.

Review 45:nothing really worked like expected in the rooms (we had 3!) and every day something else was breaking or water was not hot enough for showers, and location literally on very dangerous fast road is making it very hazardous to get out or in the tiny parking, no way to walk to food places, bad, bad,bad overall for a lot of money!

Review 46:people were trying to be helpful

Review 47:No internet facility inside the apartment and all TV channels in French so we didn't even bother to turn it on...

Review 48:Fantastic view of the ocean and 5 mins drive to the Casino area... and excellent access to every where we needed to be...

Review 49:there is a noise from the road, but as everywhere

Review 50:There is a beautiful place really close to Monaco (about 1 km from the Exotic Garden - like 20 min walking, from where you can take a bus N2 to get the down town: 10-15 min). What I like - there are big rooms, and kitchen is well equipped with a beautiful view, the personnel is so friendly and ready to assist

Review 51:Need a car to get to shops or bars otherwise a very long walk, apartment very small.

Review 52:Good location, nice staff, good view, parking, very clean.
