Reviews for Citotel Hôtel La Résidence
Review 1:As a single traveler my room had two single beds. A double bed would have been better. The noise of the elevator beside my room was irritating.
Review 2:Its location
Review 3:Oh dear, where to begin! Despite their booking.com listing stating that check in was open from 3pm until 10pm we arrived to find a notice on the door saying that the reception was closed on a Sunday from 12noon until 6pm. As the door was locked we had to phone to get an access code to open the door and then had to phone again to get told just to take the key from behind the reception. Again on leaving we arrived at reception at 7.15 am to check out. Their booking.com listing states check out is from 7am but alas the reception was once again empty. We again phoned and the manager just kept repeating '8 o'clock. 8 o'clock' as he could not speak English. Totally farcical so we just left! This is the first time we have ever stayed at a Hotel and not met or seen any member of staff, extraordinary! Not recommended after a five hour drive on a Sunday plus the only available parking we could find was in a pretty dodgy area as well.
Review 4:The room was large as was the bathroom but this did not compensate for the non existent customer service.
Review 5:All was pleasant.
Review 6:Location is a bit of a walk but not too far from the train station. Staff is friendly and breakfast is good. Room was charming and the bathroom was big and modern.
Review 7:The room was nice but small
Review 8:The location was great. The front desk people were kind helpful and thoughtful. I left my purse in the breakfast room with passport in it. The owners of the hotel saved my purse for me I was so relieved
Review 9:The directions downloaded from Booking.com website are poor. The staff only had a little understanding of English. The car park was inaccessible for my low slung sports car.
Review 10:Within reasonable walking distance from the historic part of Nancy
Review 11:also at reception only French, English would for sure be an advantage! breakfast costs extra, though price is OK
Review 12:very friendly pesonal, 10 min to walk to main station,
Review 13:It was a bit difficult to find without TomTom(one direction area).
Review 14:Close to the town and possibility to park the car in the garage. Breakfast was good.
Review 15:Further on foot from city centre than we expected, till we discovered trams running nearby. Slightly cramped on ground floor, with no 'lounge' area at all. Wifi not particularly strong. We feel that breakfast provided was repetitive and too much.
Review 16:Glad to have a lift as we were on 4th floor, and glad to have parking available at nearby facility. Rooms newly decorated.
Review 17:We were on actor bike and had to park 5 mins away and we thought the hotel was in the centre but was not so had a long walk to find anywhere to eat which was disappointing!
Review 18:Value and clean though a bit tired and dated
Review 19:faulty electric socket with cover falling off. Looked as though it could be dangerous. Staff changed room for us without hesitation.
Review 20:clean and comfortable room
Review 21:Needs a make over in the rooms. Very small and cramped. All rather dated. The bed was clean and comfortable but on small side. Basic breakfast. But it was only £50 a night so when do you expect.
Review 22:Location was handy and parking around the streets was free at night.
Review 23:I called the hotel 4 times to try to reserve parking and only on the 4th time did I get someone who could speak any language other than English. There was a lot of mold in our bathroom shower and the bed was very hard. You had to open the door completely to get air and the tram ran directly outside as did many students walking by so it was very loud during the night.
Review 24:The staff were friendly but unlike they advertised only one out of four staff members we spoke to spoke English.
Review 25:It is in a great location with great links either by car, tram or train. The hotel is wonderfully clean and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The value for money is terrific.
Review 26:If I am clutching at straws, a barking dog somwehere nearby.
Review 27:Everything. Great value, old world outside, 3 minutes walk to centre and parked (metered) right outside!
Review 28:As mentioned before I stay here regularly was disappointed this time with having two twin beds instead a regular sized bed.
Review 29:I regularly stay at La Residence as it is quiet and near to where I have to be.
Review 30:Parking is limited to a drop-off at the front and then a location two block away for which we had to pay 8 euros.
Review 31:Friendly, stylish decor, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the quietness and a bright sunny room
Review 32:People at reception don't speack english. Breakfast is very limited. Building is old and you can hear the neighbours when flushing toilets or showering.
Review 33:The breakfast was not overwhelming — not a buffet, but four pieces of bread with single-serving unites of cheese, jam, butter.
Review 34:Nice bathroom; friendly hotel staff; good price for a last minute deal (we booked on a whim, deciding we'd stay in Nancy at the last minute).
Review 35:The lobby is looking a little shabby and doesn't give the first impression hotel deserves. Lighting in hallway insufficient.
Review 36:The bathroom was luxurious for the price of the room. The rest of the room was very comfortable too. They had a hot pot for water! First time I'd seen one since England. Wifi very reliable. Staff very friendly and breakfast plentiful.
Review 37:breakfast selection was minimal.
Review 38:Staff were knowledgeable and helpful, suggesting we visit the Sound and light show that night in Stanislas Square. It was spectacular. Bathroom was a good size and was bright and clean.
Review 39:Very very good
Review 40:Well located near the train station.
Review 41:none
Review 42:Staff and breakfast
Review 43:Everything ok
Review 44:Excellent location
Review 45:la couverture wifi dans notre chambre à l'extrémité d'un couloir n'avait pas de couverture wifi
Review 46:npn et généreux petit-déjeuner
Review 47:A special thanks about nicely quiet rooms. I slept very well.
Review 48:no elevator, no parking
Review 49:large tub, close to center (with car)
Review 50:My bed was not change for five days
Review 51:Okay Hotel
Review 52:Good hotel for sight seeing Nancy, with a useful car parking option.
Review 53:Room very small, toilletries on some days were not supplied.
Review 54:Location, cleanliness, friendly staff who understood English
Review 55:Super cozy and tidy rooms. Hard to find so nice hotels these days. Totally recommended
Review 56:20 mins walk from the nicer parts of Nancy. No ventilation in the toilet.
Review 57:Bathrooms. Helpful receptionist. Handy for autoroute.
Review 58:10 minute walk from the station, good staff and reasonable size room for an overnight stay.
Review 59:Breakfast Decor
Review 60:Very think walls (earplugs are a must), creaky floors, tired bathroom (broken tiles everywhere), very strong and annoying air freshener in the hallways and reception area, no restaurants nearby. A tired and overrated (considering review score) place.
Review 61:Friendly staff, good breakfast, good shower
Review 62:Super family room, with proper comfortable beds for older teenagers. Lots of space, very helpful and friendly owners, car park facility a real bonus too. A short walk passed the station to the old town for lots of restaurants or to the newer shopping district.
Review 63:Breakfast was excellent but I would like to have a second option. We were there more than one breakfast. Also my wife who was NOT with us has to have a gluten free diet. So she would not of been able to eating of what was on offer. A place to make a hot drink. Not necessarily in the room
Review 64:The staff were excellent
Review 65:Only 1 (one) supply 230V AC socket in my room - to use eg. table lamp it was neceseary to disconnect TV.
Review 66:I like small hotels in old fasion style like this one. Location is very good. Hotel staff very helpful.
Review 67:Good value for money. Location some distance from center of city buteasy to walk. Even a streetcar in front of the hotel. Parking for 7 euroin nearby garage. Even ample room to park in street nearby. Room at theback quiet. Very helpful owner.
Review 68:Wi-fi worked only partially. None of my email would work. Servers alltimed out. Yet at inria on their wi-fi, I was able to connect to all myemail servers. The hotel wi-fi seemed to work in France and nearbyEurope, but sites in N. America and elsewhere always timed out.
Review 69:Friendly owners/staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable room.
Review 70:La posizione , un po' isolata rispetto al centro. Il bagno era piuttosto vecchio.
Review 71:Lo staff was very helpful, the room (one of the most expensive) was spacious, quite and clean
Review 72:Very cramped room, parking isn't free and is a few streets away from the hotel, hallways are very dark.
Review 73:Very nice and helpful staff, very clean, free WiFi, quiet environment despite the trams, close to the city center.
Review 74:The parking was a few minutes away, and driving back and forth to the hotel was a bit cumbersome.
Review 75:We had a spatious room for 4 persons and our dog. The breakfast was simple, but adequate. The breakfast room was small and intimate.
Review 76:We have never had such a cramped stuffy room for 75 euro a night notincluding breakfast. The hotel is supposed to have 3 stars. We could notfind any reason for this! There was no room for our suitcases
Review 77:It is one tram away from the centre. The parking is convient
Review 78:Tiny room. All of the fittings and fixtures were falling apart. Very noisy from the road.
Review 79:friendliness of staff. Breakfast. Convenience for walking into the city.
Review 80:Can't usually park immediately at the hotel - spaces normally full& on a main tram route & one way main road. Find an on-streetpaking space nearby & walk to hotel to get access to car park. Thencarry/ wheel your luggage. On leaving there may be available parkingspaces outside allowing packing of luggage.
Review 81:Very friendly & very French staff. Excellent location on tram route& in reasonable walking distance of city centre. Underground parking(charge) reasonably close by. Staff recommendation for dinner 'ChezMarcel' excellent. Room small but ok. Very comfortable & quiet.Good continental braekfast served by staff.
Review 82:The room was very small. Internet connection not great.
Review 83:Very friendly owner. Quiet room. Great to have hot drinks available in the room. Nice view over the roof tops.
Review 84:an extra blanket available would have been nice
Review 85:clean room and bathroom, very low noise from street due to double windows and night screen good breakfast, more than enough Closed carparking in the next block Tramway in front of the hotel right into the city centre
Review 86:friendly staff, very clean and new rooms, a bit tiny but with everything. nice shower. very close to the centre of town. i will go back there next time.
Review 87:It is not walking distance from city center. Parking lot itself is good but it is tricky to find location - there are lots of one way road
Review 88:Staff is friendly, secure parking lot is provided. You can use T1 tram to go to city center (Tram stop is nearby). Room is clean, but less sound proofed
Review 89:Dreadfully noisy when people moved around, opened doors etc in room above. needed a few more clothes-hangers and a couple of drawers.
Review 90:Very friendly staff. Room perfectly quiet when no-one in room above. Good selection of rolls and pastries at breakfast.
Review 91:The hotel is small, but it is cosy. The parking is close to the hotel. It's free at night. The staff is friendly. Everything is as in the description.
Review 92:Probably the only grip is that all the nice restaurant in town is some distance away. However, we drove so it is not a big issue
Review 93:About ~25min walk to "Place Stanislas". Wasn't a tough walk just ~1.8km of it. Excellent value for money hotel. Reasonable comfort and overall for the price. Provides a nice garage (with fees) for parking (we drove there) although you'll have to find it.
Review 94:Sorry La Residence but we did have a few issues which need to beaddressed: We felt that the bathroom was tired, with cracked tilesacross the floor. Like others we found the door to the bedroom was notlit. We had to use a torch to find the keyhole in the door. Parking: Assaid the secure parking was not far away, however when first arriving atthe hotel you have to take your chances with the police and parksomewhere where you are not meant too. So please La Residence could youtry and obtain a pick up/drop off point outside your front door?
Review 95:We liked the service of the staff, the style of decoration too. Theparking garage is only about 3-4 mins walk away, so no issues there. But to take advantage we would suggest you pack a small(overnight)cases. Parking cannot be prebooked via this website.Location was just outside the centre with excellent tram connectioninto the main area. Room was a good size and reasonably sized. Howeverread the notes about the bathroom!
Review 96:It is a little further than the advertised 10 minutes walk from the station (with luggage) - say 15 minutes - and in the opposite direction from the main sights and shops, but it is on the new tram route, so the location is good. The smallness of the room might be a problem if staying for long. Rooms at the front might get traffic noise...
Review 97:We had a room at the back overlooking the garden, which was delightful. The room was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was state of the art! The only member of staff we met was very friendly and helpful.
Review 98:Internet wifi was unpredictable at first but later found a way to deal with it.
Review 99:Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, location, nicely decorated hotel and service.
Review 100:Only one pillow available. Barely adequate breakfasts. Timed light in the corridor outside did not illuminate our door so difficulty in opening door. Very small room and bathroom. Only for the budget conscious.
Review 101:The noise coming from upstairs rooms was terrible. The people weren't noisy themselves, it was the noise from furniture and squeaky floors and thumping as they walked up and down. Although the walls were sound proof, the ceilings/floors were not and need to be insulated -this negative point could outweigh the many positives and would maybe deter me from staying again in what would otherwise have been an ideal choice for me if I was to return from Nancy (so PLEASE staff do something about it so we can stay again!)
Review 102:The staff were friendly and tried to meet any demands or answer any questions we had. They were incredibly accomodating and polite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the cleaning staff were thorough and non-intrusive if we were in our rooms when they came to clean. The breakfasts were tasty. I had a garden bedroom which meant traffic noise not an issue but think the front rooms were soundproof. Out of the main centre but close enough to walk there. Near a lovely little park.
Review 103:The hair dryer, though it worked well, was cheap plastic and very easy to knock off the wall and damage. Arrival by car is a bit difficult since there is no temporary place to park and street spaces are not always available. Uising the hotel's garage (a few blocks away) works well, but be sure to know how to get out before going inside the garage.
Review 104:This is a very traditional French city hotel, with rooms clustered about a central elevator and stairway. It was very clean and our room (a "garden view" room) was exceptionally quiet. The bathroom was large and very new and modern, and we really appreciated having an elevator. The staff was very friendly and helpful, though it really helps to be able to speak French. The location is outside of the centre, but on a tram line and reasonably easy to reach by foot from the downtown and tourist areas. The breaakfast was a modernized version of the traditional French hotel breakfast, generous and carefully served.
Review 105:It was sooo hot in our room (very hot weather in the middle of August). A fan was put in our room which helped a bit. It is about 10-15 minute walk to the main attractions in town, but on the converse, it is an easy walk to the Art Nouveau Museum (a must see while in Nancy!).
Review 106:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. A very pleasant and quiet hotel. The breakfasts were nice and we enjoyed eating them out in the courtyard and in the dining room.
Review 107:No one at the hotel and on the reception-desk didn’t speak English (except few words) so that the communication was a little bit difficult. Our room (in general double room) was very tiny (max. 12 m2) and the bed was for one person and a half that was huge drawback.
Review 108:If fact it was small family hotel but clean, tidy and quiet.
Review 109:Very pleasant Hotel with friendly staff. Parking reasonable for a large city. Stayed on the hottest night of the year so duvets were not required! Maybe aircon would of been better.
Review 110:The owners were very well organise and were extremely helpful, Nothing was too much trouble. Maps were provided and the routes to the garage and the main square and old town had been marked on. Room was comfortable shower room excellent and modern.
Review 111:The staff was wonderful, extremely helpful and very accommodating. We stayed only one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The location was ideal, very easy to hop on the tram to downtown. Nancy was a beautiful city, and the room was equally beautiful. My two girls said it was the best hotel we had ever stayed in. Breakfast was very reasonably priced, and delicious. The bathroom was fabulous, just gorgeous, great view into the courtyard.
Review 112:Small regional hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast room.Good location within easy walking distance of the old town and mainshopping area.
Review 113:Nice quiet place so I had no real beefs with the place.
Review 114:The staff was professional. I forgot some clothing in my room and theywere very nice to hold them for me until I picked them up.
Review 115:wifi .. there is no free wifi while it said so on the announce !
Review 116:the kindness of the reception lady the huge breakfast !! A real recommender for big eaters :-)
Review 117:Breakfast. French only. Mostly bread
Review 118:Quiet clean friendly
Review 119:I have returned many times to this hotel as the sheets are clean and of quality. Slightly dated decor but overall okay.
Review 120:Very friendly service.
Review 121:extra charge for breaskfast
Review 122:the room I was staying inn
Review 123:Small problem with hot water in the sink in the morning.
Review 124:Helpful and friendly staff. Good location. Everything new in the room.
Review 125:Great location, near the tram or an easy walk to downtown. Good breakfast.
Review 126:Friendly staff and calm area.
Review 127:good hotel great location easy tram ride into town 10 min stops outside hotel
