Reviews for Casa Barbadelo

Review 1:The water in the shower turns scalding hot unexpectedly,

Review 2:Great stop for a real Camino rest day, located a few k's past Sarria. It feels like a mini resort and they do a good job of keeping up the property.

Review 3:Beautiful, Thomas and Maria were incredible hosts. The food was fantastic - the beef cheeks rivalled Movida in Sydney. The countryside was idyllic and the building was absolutely beautiful. I'd come back in a heart beat!

Review 4:The foot pool would have been great but needed a good clean

Review 5:The room was modern comfortable and outdoor areas were great to relax after a day on the camino. The evening pilgrim menu was great

Review 6:Loud music playing virtually all night. Would have hoped that one of the staff would have stopped it. Breakfast started late for pilgrims!

Review 7:Excellent washing service facility and swimming pool.

Review 8:This property is located a considerable distance past Sarria

Review 9:We came in late and were asked if we had eaten dinner (we had). Gift shop items and postcards available on site. Hospitable hosts and nice pool

Review 10:Wifi not available in rooms and there was no real laundry area (they are building it)

Review 11:They are pros at running albergues, everything needed for pilgrims and more. Rooms have only 4 bunks with separate bathrooms for each. Very clean and quiet with huge grounds and pool. Food excellent.

Review 12:The accommodation is almost new and well thought out. Everything you need without fuss. Good beds, good food (both breakfast and diner) and good value and right on the Camino overlooking a beautiful valley.

Review 13:Nothing. We enjoyed our stay at Casa Barbadelo on a very wet April night.

Review 14:A good location just a few kilometres outside Sarria right on the Camino. Comfortable with a welcoming and warm café/restaurant to eat and rest for the night. The rooms are set away from the main Casa which felt as though you had your own little apartment.

Review 15:Slippery floor in bathroom - dangerous Shower - water too hot and need careful control of lever - high above maximum temperature and can burn. Light too dim - difficult to read need bedside light to be a little brighter. Address - perhaps give more information about location of hostal

Review 16:Pretty surrounding and very welcoming

Review 17:We were welcomed like long lost family and it really was heart warming... The staff were all very friendly, helpful and incredibly entertaining and funny. The food is excellent and the atmosphere magical!

Review 18:A little noisy with albergue down the hall.

Review 19:Classic Galacian stone structure with all modern ammenities. Good dinner recommendation at nearby restaurant.

Review 20:Fabulous place to stay so no complaints.

Review 21:This pension is right on the Camino (108km) and is an excellent place to stay. The rooms were comfortable (we had a private en suite room), clean, and the shower was one of the best on the Camino! Casa Barbadelo also had a pool for guests as well as a full restaurant that offered a very filling cooked breakfast from 6am. The staff were friendly and the views from the location are wonderful (it's very rural and thus very quiet).

Review 22:Great setting. Lovely food and very comfortable bedroom. Lovely to relax by the pool after a day on the Camino.

Review 23:Excellent location for camino. good price. Helpful staff.

Review 24:Too much music, feels like Ibiza rather then El Camino

Review 25:Best albergue on el Camino de Santiago, right on El Camino

Review 26:Little interaction from staff and willingness to speak English

Review 27:Place clean on arrival

Review 28:Everything: The pool The food The rooms The people All done very well

Review 29:Nothing.

Review 30:Food and helpful staff, great place to stay.right on the Camino, quite and clean. Everything they said they would do, they did .

Review 31:staff very friendly location good

Review 32:Great nights sleep prior to continuing our camino walk. Apartment good size with great view. Food and wine good. Staff very helpful.

Review 33:Great to relax in the pool after a days walking, right on the camino trail so easy to find & easy start in the morning.

Review 34:It was well-maintained and the surroundings were very pretty. It was definitely good value for money while traveling on the Camino de Santiago.

Review 35:Excellent staff, and a great pool to relax at after a day on the Camino.

Review 36:There was nowhere to hang anything. Given that many people were walking the Camino, like us, we needed something to hang up a washed shirt et. My husband decided to hang his shirt on the line. When he went to fetch it, someone had unpegged it, thrown it on the ground and pegged their own washing in its place. Did not like reading a breakfast menu with no prices on it. When we asked the lady about costs, she gave us estimates for breakfast that were an underestimation of the true costs. She would have known the price of breakfast it es and we felt deceived.

Review 37:The outdoor landscaping, with loungers and grassed areas made It feel like a resort, with very pretty views in the distance.

Review 38:Rooms are clean, friendly staff esp our waiter who served us warmly always with a smile. Location is great..on the Camino route which served our purpose well as we were doing the pilgrimage walk. We thoroughly enjoyed the countryside...great ambience. Will definitely stay there again

Review 39:2 years ago when undertaking the Camino I visited Casa Barbedelo for a stamp and thought this would be a beautiful place to stay on my next trip. I can confirm it is a special place beyond my expectation - friendly and efficient staff, a lovely clean room, excellent facilities, a beautiful location overlooking the valley, excellent food and on the Camino. We arrived early evening and it was so nice to wash and sit outside enjoying a lovely meal and an excellent wine as the evening gently faded into night and the valley sparkled with lights enhanced by excellent service.

Review 40:The albergue is designed for the Camino Peregrinos and doesn't provide a lot of extras - slightly comparable to a Super 8 Motel room. That said, their pricing can be a little more competitive.

Review 41:Although the amenities were basic, the room was very clean. Their cafe offerings were great and were a great value.

Review 42:The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They did the best they could to fit all five of us in a big room. The room was a bit small but clean. Bathroom was also clean. The surrounding was beautiful and a great start for our Camino de Santiago de Compostela walk.

Review 43:The location is right on El Camino, nice spot for start, personel very friendly.

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:We loved the restaurent and the location on the camino

Review 46:Bothing

Review 47:The whole place is a jewell in the camino

Review 48:The staff were friendly & helpful. The food was wholesome, tasty & good value.

Review 49:We had to ask for the heater to be turned on.

Review 50:Nice resturant, easy to find and good room and bathroom. The food was good and so was the house wine.

Review 51:Everything. It's right on the Camino and well worth the stop!!Dinner was fantastic, laundry, the staff were great!!
