Reviews for Hotel Des Prélats

Review 1:A little expensive for what they are selling, only 3 star hotel for over 100€ per night.

Review 2:A place to stay the night, and relax in bed. Room seems tidy and beds are comfortable

Review 3:Loading/unloading difficult. Parking expensive and challenging

Review 4:So convenient to place Stanislas. Very pretty common areas. Attractive room decor and spacious bath.

Review 5:As usual with city hotels, access by car somewhat difficult and parking garage away from hotel.

Review 6:Location to visit Place Stanislas with Musee des Beaux Arts. Friendly reception with helpful information.

Review 7:limited parking

Review 8:A fine old building in the centre of town next to the cathedral and amongst many good restaurants and bars. Comfortable room, pleasant staff, adequate breakfast

Review 9:The ròom was very small basic and the bed not comfortable. Breakfast was expensive and the parking was not that convenient and also expensive.

Review 10:The hotel was very close to st stanislas Sq probably the most amazing square I have seen.

Review 11:Very small room and very large bathroom.

Review 12:Charming "vieille France" old school style.Loved the old wooden floor and the chic deco.Central location.

Review 13:Wifi was problematic and I wish there was air conditioninng though it was a chilly night in Nancy

Review 14:The location was perfect less than 5 min walk from the famous place Stanislas. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was comfortable.

Review 15:Staff were very helpful and even printed a route to our next destination after we left ours at home, location was good though one way streets a little tricky! Breakfast was good, room clean and comfortable

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:The hotel is in a beautiful building adjacent to a private school and a church on a lovely square. It is steps away from Place Stanislas and a 7 minute walk to shopping center.

Review 18:Nice Hotel in an excellent location. Friendly helpful staff. Good value for money for 3 star Hotel. I was lucky enough to get a parking space right outside the hotel. Close to stanislas and the old town

Review 19:Breakfast was additional, and was extremely mediocre, compared to the breakfast we had in the Bruge the night before.

Review 20:The hotel was old and full of character, but at the same time spotless and beautifully furnished in a sympathetic way.

Review 21:But... there was a bunch of loser hipsters that were rowdy in the street all night. Why didn't police beat them home ..?

Review 22:Locatoin, location! Excellent spot, everything you'd want to see in Nancy either literally next door or within walking diatance.

Review 23:Wonderful, try and get the suite with the Cherubs from the cathedral next door watching over you at night!, lovely staff, parking right outside the door in the middle of the city centre -free after 6 pm until 8 am so if you arrive in the late afternoon for a 1 night stay it's virtually free!, makes modern hotels look horribly boring and shabby.

Review 24:very noisy, at least the rooms located at the front, there is a street + the tram in front of the hotel and during weekends also during the night noisy people on the street, we had temperatures of 37 degrees during daytime and the aircon in the room is just a mobil one and did not manage to cool down the room, it was also not possible to leave the windows open due to the noise so it was hard to find any sleep, standard room was small (15 qm), bathroom with no shower but small bath tube, no shower enclore so you have to shower while sitting in the tube

Review 25:Very nice hotel, furniture and equipment in the room fits to the style of the building, very friendly personal, location 2 min walk to Place Stanislas and also to the shopping area

Review 26:This is a most beautiful hotel with lovely antique furnishings, four poster beds and a very luxurious feel. We will definitely return here as the price was excellent for the type of hotel and the proximity to Stanislas Square was 1 minutes walk away. There is also parking in front of the hotel. It was a toss up between Hotel des Prelats s and the Grand Hotel on the square....we are so pleased now that we booked Hotel des Prelats

Review 27:Pros: Refurbished hotel with modern bathroom and comfortable room, yet some old world charm. Pleasant staff. Great location - on tram line, short walk from train station and other major sites.

Review 28:The breakfast was a bit basic, made up for by sitting in a conservatory overlooking a pretty garden. The wooden floor in my room had a couple of very creaky floorboards which might have bothered the people downstairs.

Review 29:Lovely location next to the Cathedral, very convenient for Stanislas Square and the park with good transport. I had a quiet room on the third floor at the back, in a simply but beautifully furnished room with shutters and draperies over the bed.

Review 30:The location in this part of the city is excellent with an easy walk to the Stanislas area. Parking was in a multi-storey that convenient but in a set of one-way streets. Quiet next to the tram service. Car space in front of hotel for unloading luggage.

Review 31:No one at the hotel helped us. They gave us name of a restaurant; it wasn't even open on Sunday, (when we needed it.) Nothing was described about to get from train station to hotel. We pulled our bags over a mile. almost no one knew any English.

Review 32:The Square in the old town was beautiful. Old gentleman in History museum very charming, helpful.

Review 33:the wooden floor around the bed need to be repaired. Sound proof between guestrooms need to be improved.

Review 34:lovely small hotel in an old beautiful building with a small courtyard.

Review 35:the location was super next to the cathedral, within walking distance to everything. very charming room with canopy bed. great bathroom with rain shower.

Review 36:It was our fault but we had asked the hotel to book us a restaurant. It was my wife's birthday. When we arrived the three staff on that night. We're not helpful at all and made us feel very uncomfortable. Hence we walked out. We should have explained more to the hotel staff our food preference. But the hotel soon recommended another restaurant. Although not what I wanted for my wife's birthday. It was very good.

Review 37:Our room was beautiful. Very romantic and full of character. Would definitely return.

Review 38:Guests with allergy for dust (histamine)- be careful! "Decorated in a traditional style" room turns out to have a 100-year-old big wardrobe, old cracky floor with "historic dust" plus dirty-looking overhead bed curtains (!) that make the concentration of invisible but allergic dust very sensitive. A sign "hypo allergic" would be helpful.

Review 39:A very good location in the centre, a big modern elevator, nice staff, neat and cute, a spacious bathroom but small room

Review 40:As Winter travellers, it was still busy in Nancy though dark when we arrived which made finding the nearest public car park awkward.

Review 41:Despite being next to the Cathedral, the hotel was remarkably quiet. The room was clean, comfortable and attractive, the breakfast selection excellent and the staff helpful.

Review 42:No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. If the hotel is concerned that this may be a possible fire risk they could make coffee available either free or for purchase in restaurant area, for those who only want a drink and not a full breakfast.

Review 43:Location of hotel. Close to Stanislas Square, shops, restaurants and bars. Tram stop outside hotel to railway station and bus to Lorraine TGV station to go to Paris.

Review 44:Loved the location, Can't beat it. It is the prelates dorm so there are no "facilities". It is all about the charm and the location. Not for kids but excellent for adults not looking for cookie cutter.

Review 45:Rooms are very small and there is little room to unpack clothes. too few hooks in bathroom to hang towels.

Review 46:Location, charm of hotel, reception, breakfast,

Review 47:If you want a quieter sleep, ask for room away from main street.

Review 48:Great location, 100m from Stanislaus Square and adjoining the Cathedral. Room compact but bed very comfortable.

Review 49:room was quite small and bathroom had only bathtub which made it very difficult to take a shower. Bathroom was also very tiny. Room had very specific smell, wich was somewhyt disturbing

Review 50:location is really perfect for city trip. The building is old and has its charm as well as room desig.

Review 51:The exterior of the building looked classical and charming but our room gave us the opposite impression. Our room was so small we hardly had any space to walk and to even open our suitcases! There was no view at all, the room window faced other room windows through a narrow interior tunnel. Breakfast was slightly disappointing, they didn't have the chocolate croissant they promised, and had few options to choose from.

Review 52:The hotel was very near Place Stanislas, the central plaza of the city.

Review 53:Limited parking if arriving by car. Rooms are not air conditioned although a fan is provided.

Review 54:Quaint, old style European hotel located in a historic building just a brief walk from Place Stanislas. Clean, well appointed rooms with modern baths.

Review 55:Extremely well positioned to explore Nancy. Room a little on small side but very welcoming and comfortable. Easy to park motorbikes outside but not sure about cars

Review 56:Nothing.

Review 57:Lovely old building next to cathedral. Parking right outside entrance. Close to Stanislas square and restaurants. Very helpful reception staff who speak English. Would definitely recommend.

Review 58:Car parking in so called off-site secure parking is not secure. We left on the Sunday morning and I took our suitcase up in the car park lift to the car only to be greeted by snarling dogs and homeless people sleeping in the lift vestibule. I withdrew and went back later using a separate staircase. Breakfast is very expensive, but on a Sunday morning there are no cafes open nearby. As I travel by car I would not use this hotel again.

Review 59:Reception staff friendly and just a short walk from Stanislav square

Review 60:Staff were friendly but didn't offer help with luggage. They were not helpful in recommending restaurants. The hotel needs improved maintenance and decoration in some areas.

Review 61:The hotel is perfectly located close to Stanilas Square. It is traditionally furnished.

Review 62:We did not have breakfast due to other reviews and found a simple petit dejeuner along the street for E 3.60, although a coffee only at the same place cost E 3.40 a couple of hours later!! Not air conditioned.

Review 63:Very good location close to centre of Nancy and major attractions. Handy lift (not in all hotels at this price) good size room and bathroom okay, but due to its age the floorboards squeak and the beds rattle (although comfy). Public Parking station is very close but you need to navigate the one way road system and the tight circular ramps are a bit challenging but it works fine for E12 per night. Check Out is Noon which was great for us staying one night.

Review 64:A charming hotel in a perfect location for seeing the best of Nancy. Nice old building next to the cathedral, rooms very nicely decorated with antique furniture. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 65:Generally, I like conveniences of a kitchenette and/or mini fridge. Also, the room size could have been larger.

Review 66:The building and decor were charming, the bathtub and bed were inviting, and the hotel was generally comfortable

Review 67:We liked just about everything in this 3 star hotel. Would have appreciated a safe in the room

Review 68:Loved the history associated with the hotel and the very helpful efficient staff. Hotel was very central

Review 69:Rooms are a bit small, breakfest is expensive and very limited. Our room was on the square side, it was too noisy to open the window during the night and the room was pretty warm. Wifi didn't work

Review 70:Really nice hotel on a great location near the historic plaza. Staff was friendly, especial the night porter a young guy.

Review 71:We stayed in the suite and it was fabulous! A very special place with the most wonderful people, unforgettable. In the Townes center but quiet at night.

Review 72:On market days getting to the parking garage can be confusing. The breakfast was fair but expensive for the price.

Review 73:The Hotel was in the center of everything. The Hotel had charm. The staff were very helpful.

Review 74:OK, it's a tourist hotel but the charge per person for a breakfast buffet is too much (at least for us); we went outside at half the price. Again, ok it's France, but no English by one of the front desk staff (a young man) was a surprise. We got by just fine with our very basic French though.

Review 75:Loved the central location and the quality of the hotel and the room; all were excellent. Very near the Place Stanislas and all the action...great cafes, bars and bistros nearby with reasonable prices.

Review 76:Character, Location

Review 77:Bit difficult to get to by car

Review 78:Central location. Wooden floors and four poster bed.

Review 79:Everything

Review 80:Staff : best, very helpful, gave lots of interesting information about Nancy. Impressive Breakfast. Charming room. Best location.

Review 81:I would prefer a stand-alone shower rather than a splashy, wave-around job in the bath. Thought the bath towels a bit skimpy too.

Review 82:Location, building, breakfast

Review 83:Very limited and unsecure parking outside hotel. No restaurant or bar.

Review 84:Convenient location for the centre of Nancy.

Review 85:Great location--very short walk to Place Stanlislas. Old architecture lends much ambiance to rooms.

Review 86:parking was in a public car park no restaurant but excellent breakfast

Review 87:very comfortable stay

Review 88:Great location, easy parking

Review 89:Helpful staff. Excellent location next to tram stop and close to Stansilas square. Nice older building.

Review 96:A bit old with creaky floors but lots of charm. Goog breakfast.

Review 97:Friendly staff. I left something in my room and they held it for me.

Review 98:Very central location. Local secure public car parking. 4 poster bed.

Review 99:We were given a superior room and it was lovely. Staff were very bright and helpful.

Review 100:Perfect location, tiny but clean room beautifully decorated and furnished. Loads of character and friendly, helpful staff.

Review 101:The cost of the breakfast !!

Review 102:The location in Nancy and atmosphere of the hotel were great

Review 107:Welcoming and and helpful staff. Central location but calm and quiet ambiance. Characterful and comfortable.

Review 108:Charm

Review 109:Very central location, excellent breakfast and helpful staff.

Review 110:Room not up to the usual luxury we've enjoyed in the past facing into a quad.

Review 111:4th time here . Love the building and the setting

Review 112:Breakfast on private terrace adjoining bedroom.

Review 113:Amaizing place, tje livations is ideal. Nothing like big chain Kyriad, Ibis and similar awful places.

Review 114:Staff, location, rool was gorgegous.

Review 115:Perfect location, amazingly beautiful property

Review 116:Limited parking.
