Reviews for Odalys Edenarc

Review 1:Wireless internet was not working for 3.5 days at Odaly residence edenarc. Frustrating. The technicians ,reception, and assistant manager wasted hours over 3 days trying in vain to fix the problem . We had to walk to the reception 10 x a day. We were there exactly 2 years ago ,the same happened. Next, in heavy snow conditions, the private drive- way to edenarc from the main road is dangerous with too much black ice.because Odaly didn't salt .Be warned - snow chain necessary. We were stuck in that road from 7.00am to 9.00 am. Without any help from passing vehicles, we finally fixed the snow chain on our car 4x snow tyres.

Review 2:The Manager fixed the internet problem on the 4th day. The reception, assistant manager, manager were all trying to help . Oday did give us the room we requested in our reservation booking earlier, which is really good. The room is clean, the views over the valley wonderful. One particular receptionist on duty allowed us to our room earlier at 2.30pm instead of us waiting in overcrowded lounge . We were a little happier at her show of customer care and initiative. Thanks

Review 3:Wi-Fi is useless during peak times i.e. from about 5pm till midnight. You had to ask to change bath towels during the week and take them to the room yourself. It would be good if there was an automatic towel change via maid service.

Review 4:Great location for the chair lifts and main Transarc gondola. Literally ski-in and ski-out. Great having the ski rental in the basement of the building which was also very helpful. Steam room and sauna was first class to relax those tired muscles!

Review 5:Unhelpful and unfriendly staff , not all but just one in particular. The wifi is so poor , it's worse than last year . Have been there twice now and wouldn't stay again . There are better places to stay in Les arcs.

Review 6:Great location and the rooms are good

Review 7:Not enough chairs in the room. Just one sofa and a chair in an apartment for 6 people. Heating cannot be controlled from your room and set at 21c which was not warm enough for a ski apartment. Wifi very poor. Only BBC world news in English on the tv. At the end of the week you have to clean your apartment and then have it checked by staff.

Review 8:Great value for money for a 4 star apartment on the edge of the piste. Great views of Mont Blanc . A few metres from the bus stop that takes you into the village.

Review 9:Staff were unhelpful, despite having paid a not insignificant amount of money it was like they were doing us a favour letting us stay there. Reception has extremely limited and inconvenient opening hours. Wifi was terrible, connection seldom worked and was painfully slow and unreliable when it did. We were also taken aback after having paid 1100 euros for the apartment to be charged another 80 for a parking space on arrival.

Review 10:Good location, apartment was clean and spa facilities good. Arc 1800 itself is a fantastic resort with endless skiing.

Review 11:Tiny kitchen Shuttle bus to village every 20 minutes - icy walk if not used Very busy pool area

Review 12:Position, room size - 2 bed + 2 bath/toilet. Comfortable living area and balcony

Review 13:Just one thing. We were not lucky enough to be on the side with a much better view of the mountains but since it was a last-minute reservation, I guess that was the only room available at the time.

Review 14:W like the room a lot, how it was decorated and furnished. It's a complete home away from home - everything you need is there. It's easy to go to the town center and the ski lifts because there's a shuttle available at its doorstep. We generally like the view from the hotel. I like the friendly and helpful staff. It was a great experience altogether.

Review 15:Beds are way to hard , Wifi did work maximum 10 percent of time , Dishwasher wasn`t working right .

Review 16:Exellent Location , Covered Parking Lot , Very nice ski location , ski in ski out , nice view , balcony

Review 17:internet speed, room temperature set (not higer then 21 C during the day, 18 by night ) Hopefully we had the chimney

Review 18:Location, facilities, concept, friendly reception staff , very responsive manager ,

Review 19:Big problem with cleaning ski loker area, there was a vomet and nowbody cleaned during our whole stay, a bit strange for 4 star hotel, might be French style?

Review 20:Location is very good for ski in ski out, nice pool with saunas.

Review 21:Check in at 5pm is very late, our room had some broken fittings and the kitchen equipment was poor (pans provided but no spatula or spoon!). The pillows were poor (two for a double bed) and the beds were beyond 'firm'. There is no maid service to clean the room so one set of towels all week wasn't great. Considering its 4 star, there are no 4 star luxuries such as no complimentary robes/slippers to use for the week (you have to pay to hire) and only soap provided, no other toiletries or shower gel etc that you usually would expect from 4star. The WiFi only works in the morning.

Review 22:The pool/jacuzzi/sauna facilities were quite nice and looked after. The view of the piste whilst in the pool was nice. The shuttle bus was a god send as otherwise you're completely cut off. The reception offers a bread ordering service which is good as there are no amenities or shops near by.

Review 23:Wifi does not work. Staff stressed out and grumpy on check out day. Pillows not comfortable. Pool gets busy (and will get worse when new apartments added).

Review 24:Good size apartment. Free bus service. Ski in/out. Ski hire shop in the basement with very good internet prices. Heated towel rails. 2 bathrooms in apartment. Got an early check in (2pm) but bathroom had not been cleaned very well.

Review 25:Lots of dog mess just left, a few bins and signs wouldn't go a miss. Intermittent wifi, although we did stay at the busiest week of the season.

Review 26:Helpful informative staff, free bus just around the corner, nice pool (although a little chilly) nice size apartment for 4 (102) good size bed settee, ski in/out. Reastaurant just round the corner was excellent, booking advisable during busy times

Review 27:View of Mont Blanc from my apartment, perfect!!!Swimming pool, sauna, hamman and jacuzzi have an easy access from residence....

Review 28:Dreadful wifi, would not like to be below 4th floor on inside looking flats due to big mound right in front of you.

Review 29:Space, pool facilities.

Review 30:Wifi, hamann and sauna

Review 31:Ski in and out. Apartment was well laid out. Staff very good

Review 32:No services at the hotel-area; need a bus to get them.

Review 33:Sayna & swiming-pool area.

Review 34:Poor wifi could not book in early No oven

Review 35:Brilliant spacious apartment Impressive boot room

Review 36:Wifi!! No boots drying facilities in the ski room

Review 37:View from the room, location, the room itself

Review 38:Awful Internet Staff lack passion Heating controls isn't existing

Review 39:Good spacious accommodation

Review 40:Location, size of apartment and facilities. Staff very helpful. Garage parking.

Review 41:Very helpful & friendly staff, great ski location & lovely spa facilities.

Review 42:Internet Connection was intermittent and did not work at akll for final 3 days of stay. Whilst great location for Ski in and out it was a bit of a trek down to the village, particularly if you fancie a beer or were carrying shopping

Review 43:Accomodation was clean and comfortable Pool and spa facilities really good and great for kids

Review 44:The ski-boot room was cold and damp. Our ski-boots were not dry in the morning. The pool was too small, there was a concentration of people at the end of the ski-ing day as you would expect. The pool was just big enough but I doubt that this will be the case once the additional apartments are built. Despite the written information there was no member of staff to police the gym, as such there were lots of children using the gym equipment as a play area. The kitchen is small, the microwave oven is tiny and not provided with any suitable dishes, essentially enough for heating up a croissant. The nearest supermarket in Charvet is a Spar and is small with limited stock. The butchers opposite makes up for it. But be prepared to design 'stove top' suppers. I would suggest you take advantage of the Sherpa delivery service rather than drive down or take the bus. The pillows provided are lumpy and uncomfortable.

Review 45:Edenarc is well situated for ski-in ski-out families. The arrangement with ESI works well, the children are picked up from the front of the building. The apartments are spacious, we booked a 6 person apartment for 4 or us, as we don't like sleeping in the living space. The bathrooms were well appointed and there was plenty of hot water. The free laundry room was welcomed but I had not realised this was for all the floors! We had an excellent service from SkiSet 1800, but did not realise that there was a ski-hire on site. The staff were very helpful, the bread and crossiant order was a must. Overall we had a good holiday but had a decent discount on the apartment. Would I return? Yes but I would be better prepared next time for the facilities available.

Review 46:Only 2 English language TV channels and both were news. As this is marketed to an international audience and to families this could be addressed. As with other reviewers Wi-Fi was unreliable in apartment which is a shame but we found it was accessible in corridor right outside our apartment and always down in reception where there are comfy couches to sit on.

Review 47:Stunning views, good ski - in/out location, well equipped, modern apartment. Easy run down blue run to ski-school meeting point and lifts. Although out of town, reliable shuttle buses ran regularly and to a tight timetable. Re other reviews we found apartment was warm enough but it was spring temp outside, heated towel rail ensured essential clothing dried out overnight.

Review 48:cold water in the swimming pool - could be a bit warmer to enable better relaxing after skiing; poor heating facilities, leaving in 6 person it was difficult to dry all sport cloths and ski boots in the apartment (ski lockers are not equiped for drying boots); only one jacuzzi available;

Review 49:very good location from skiing perspectives; swimming pool;

Review 50:Free wifi didn't work. You only get one roll of toilet paper for each toilet.

Review 51:The possibilty to order (baguette, pizza, etc.). Nice and clean room with good view.

Review 52:1) On arrival our room smelt and it took 4 days for us to be moved to a different room after chasing the issue daily.2) The room was cold and we asked for the heating to be turned up and this took several complaints to reception before being sorted in 3 days 3) Very limited english TV channels which we felt was extremely poor for an international establishment 4) Staff although polite didn't seem very good or bothered to find a solution to our problems 5) Internet access was poor or non existent 6) Could benefit from an internal grocery shop 7) Somewhere to change on the day of checkout if you are skiing other than a toilet! 8) The money we paid (which for us was significant) we really felt let down and not supported by the staff. It feels unfair that our holiday was spoilt in this way!

Review 53:Small things such as the heating in the apartment constantly turning itself down (i.e. it was quite cold), the WIFI only worked for the last day of our stay (same issue the year before too) and on departure day someone barged into our apartment at 8am to inspect despite not yet having checked out. Small things but if these could be fixed the stay would have been perfect!

Review 54:Great apartment hotel. The second time we have stayed as one of the highest standards of accommodation at a reasonable price in the Alps

Review 55:Check-in was a nightmare..as far as I'm aware the hotel tells everyone to check-in at 5pm on a Saturday..reception was crowded with people, luggage, skis, snowboards etc etc and only 3 staff. Rooms were not ready and items were missing in the room. Wifi doesn't work well.

Review 56:Excellent ski in, ski out location, lovely hotel with spa area and indoor/outdoor pool, free bus to Arc 1800 every 20mins until 11.30pm. Spacious room with fireplace was worth the extra.

Review 57:The location is a little far from the center but the bus which runs every 20 minutes resolves that issue.

Review 58:Good and apartment with a great view and a direct access to the slopes.

Review 59:boot racks were not heated, which meant our ski boots were cold and damp every morning, so we started taking the lining back up to the room with us from the second day.

Review 60:modern, clean, alpine apartments with a great view and good facilities. Great ski-in/ski-out facility Although there wasn't a huge number of staff, each one of them was very warm and helpful.

Review 61:The WiFi was awful & the apartment would benefit from an oven instead of a microwave

Review 62:The apartment was lovely & the staff very helpful. The pool was great & being so close to the ski slopes.

Review 63:- Wifi doesn't work in the evening

Review 64:Good location, spacious and clean rooms, close to ski lifts and shuttle bus. Ski locker is big enough for 6 boots and snowboards.

Review 65:Wifi was not working almost the whole week; but then it helped us to concentrate to our vacation.

Review 66:Direct access to the slopes, excellent comfort in the rooms, free of charge WiFi. Best self catered residence that we have stayed so far.

Review 67:The wifi doesn't work all time!!!! the radiator was cold, we have a small baby, every time we asked to switch on the radiator, but it was done tempoprarly. It was the 2 time of our visiting this apartment, in the future I wouldn't visot this apart

Review 68:Internet worked only for one day. Not important , but need to get it fixed as this is comes as a free thing and does not look good if not working. Other than that the rest was perfect.

Review 69:Perfect facility. Clean, modern and comfortable. Stayed in two-bed comfort room with two adults and one child , very-very spacious and well designed in therms of separating habitual areas. Everything was clean and new. A lot of kitchenware and normal size fridge was big enough to keep all our food. Cannot really fault anything. Good sauna and swimming pool with outdoor section. In some reviews it was said that the pool was cold , but nothing like that was noticed during our stay. Fresh bread delivery every morning made the stay even more pleasant. Check-in and check-out were seamless, all well organised and quick.

Review 70:Courteous, friendly, happy, smiling staff. Nothing too much trouble. Fantastic location. Ski in/out. Amazing views. Free bus into 1800 for shopping. Kitchen well equipped - dishwasher (bring extra tablets), fridge/freezer, coffee machine, kettle, etc. etc. Order fresh baguette from reception for following morning. Perfect stay, enjoy.

Review 71:We can honesty say we have no moans or groans......

Review 72:The whole set up is fantastic. Run down..... Rooms - very spacious we had a double room with amazing views over Mont Blanc. Ski Locker - room for 4 boots and ski's etc with easy access to piste. Skiing - ski in/out. You need to take a lift up to come back in buts a blue so easy enough for kids. Trans Arc lift close so you can get up to 2600 pretty quickly. Ski School - various on offer with one based in hotel, We used ESF based in the village. Bus - There is a free bus from the hotel into the town, they run every 10 minutes. Town - 1800 is excellent for all ages, various places to eat and two supermarkets Staff - Really friendly and helpful. Parking - Underground with plenty of spaces, costs 50 Euro for the week but this includes exiting the resort, if you don't pay the parking it's 65 euro to get out of the resort......no brainer really.

Review 73:The wireless did't work at all , the reason is unknown. So the manager/director ,Anthony , went out and bought us a long ethernet cable. The 15 meter walk across a construction road covered with sheer ice and on disturbed soil to access the piste tolerable, outweighed by the facilities offered by the residence and, the people there that week.

Review 74:Overall it is very good . With beautiful views from room 401.

Review 75:The location of the complex is less than ideal for non skiers. The free bus shuttle to the village runs every 20 minutes and it's possible to walk there in a similar time, but when carrying heavy shopping (and pushing a pushchair) this can be challenging. Alson the kitchen area of the apartment is extremely small and doesn't include a full sized oven, which for apartments of such high quality is a let-down.

Review 76:The accommodation was very comfortable and of a high standard. The swimming pool complex was excellent. For skiers, the position of the apartments is convenient as it is possible to ski in/ski out.

Review 77:Pool & spar could of stayed open later (beyond 20.00hrs)

Review 78:Excellent location, apartment and facilities. Best accomodation we have stayed in for Skiing

Review 79:Small kitchen area in standard appartments, rather cold (you schould ask the staff to rise the temperature in app), rather cold in the pool, cool sauna (40-50 degrees), situated in "the hole of the world" (you schould take the free shuttle to reach the shops)

Review 80:Wellness area, calm place, good noise-protection in apts, great views

Review 81:The room Internet connection was unreliable but it did work if u went on at non peak times. The gym had good equiptment but became a free for all for the children at peak times . There were no British TV channels so a DVD player would have been nice with a DVD library at reception

Review 82:Excellent for ski slope access right on the piste ski in / out . Apartment had all necessary equiptment and was spacious the nearby resturaunt and take away serve great food in relaxed atmosphere.

Review 83:microwave/grill inadequate-oven would have been preferable lack of information about facilities in area very poor WiFi reception no grocery shop in complex electrics/lights temperamental

Review 84:beds comfortable ski in/out spacious apartment plenty of cupboards/storage space great area to ski

Review 85:Road access was very poor, snow not cleared from the road all week.no local shop for essentials which meant a bus ride to town. poor directions given when booking.

Review 86:Nice clean comfortable spacious appartments, nice spa, friendly staff.

Review 87:The staff was friendly and helpful EXCEPT for the women in charge of the reception desk, who initially refused to hand us enough cards for our room and subsequently ordered her staff to refuse giving codes for Wi-Fi to any guests, because she felt nobody needed Wi-Fi until Sunday or Monday. We politely declined, and managed to get what we asked, thanks to the other members of the team who did their best to fulfill the needs of their customers.

Review 88:Appartement size was decent, however basic features were missing (such as vacuum cleaner which we needed to ask for one) or were overpriced (15€ for a fire in our chimney or for towels in the spa area).

Review 89:No WIFI for first three days but this was fixed for the end of our stay. The location is out or Arc 1800 but a free shuttle bus leaves from outside every 20-30 mins.

Review 90:Friendly staff, large clean rooms and decent kitchen equipment for self catering. Excellent standard for skiing self catering accommodation.

Review 91:Bad connection with swimming pool (from reception and hall), smallsauna. 500Euro deposit - it's too much.

Review 92:Very good view from apartment. Fantastic ski location.

Review 93:lack of retail, bar or resturant.

Review 94:Location, pool and leisure facilities, ski in/out

Review 95:Dry Sauna not hot enouth. In ski room no drying system for ski boots.

Review 96:Wi-Fi good. Pool good

Review 97:Can't control the heating.

Review 98:Lovely place, ski in ski out great.

Review 99:Nothing

Review 100:Everything

Review 101:The staff could be less chaotic: they kept giving us wrong keys to our ski-locker.

Review 102:Pretty much everything.

Review 103:Location, mountain view, pool

Review 104:no internet, cold sauna

Review 105:clean, convenient location, large rooms

Review 106:Location, size of apartment, facilities

Review 107:Friendly staff - trying their very best in English :-) Nice Pool area for children.

Review 108:Reception shut during the day so we had to hang around before we could check in

Review 109:Location Quality of accommodation

Review 110:Isolated and no facilities. No shop to get any milk or basic produce. Nobar. Over crowded with Germans

Review 111:Good location for skiing

Review 112:Lack of facilities like an on site restaurant and bar.

Review 113:The ability to ski from door to slopes.

Review 114:Lousy wifi reception.

Review 115:Great swimming pool. Fantastic ski in/out location. Spacious appartments. Comfy beds.
