Reviews for Auberge le Luberon
Review 1:The parking is free. Free-for-all that is - in the paved(ish) flood plain parking area adjacent to the creek in front of the Hotel. Don't park there if major rains are forecast. Otherwise no issues.
Review 2:Location was good for day-touring to Gordes, Rousillon, Lacoste, Bonnieux, Lourmarin and Cereste. Restaurant in the hotel was excellent. Breakfast was crazy good.
Review 3:A perfect place in the middle of Apt to stay. However, we were rather taken aback by the business of Apt and realised that we much rather stay in the countryside so having booked in for two nights we changed the reservation to just one. This was handled in the most efficient and professional way and the owner couldn’t have been more accommodating and did not charge us a fee. The place is very central but for us Apt was just not what we wanted. There was plenty of nearby parking and we only left early because for us this was not the right location.
Review 4:Not a good location, though central to many attractions.
Review 5:Superb food, comfortable, clean, quaint hotel, with such attention to detail. Free parking nearby. A little oasis.
Review 6:Not an easy hotel to find. Good public parking as long as you take care not to get blocked in especially on market days
Review 7:A quiet and comfortable hotel in the middle of Apt. An excellent dinner and breakfast. Friendly and efficient service,
Review 8:Entry code makes it seam the hotel is not open and little used but, in fact the restaurant was busy when we return to the hotel in the evening!!
Review 9:Great location friendly people. Nothing not to like.
Review 10:Very pleasant place. Comfortable room. Walk directly across a bridge to be in the center of town. Nice people. They helped us with our luggage and information about parking our car. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 11:Room and bathroom a bit small but very cute.
Review 12:Quaint, convenient, wonderful welcoming staff. Had wonderful, delicious dinner there as well as wonderful breakfasts every day. We used an attached garage to store our and some friend's bicycles---very helpful. Just across the bridge from active community area.
Review 13:The only pity is that Apt is not the cutest village in the area, but if you don't want to spend much and then visit around this is the right hotel.
Review 14:The hotel is in a very nice location in front of the river with a huge parking just in front .It is an old style house but nicely decorated inside ,really Provence style. The rooms are more modern except for the bathroom, but very comfortable.Their breakfast is worth all the 10 euros with fresh juices and home made croissant ,jams and freshly baked breads, ham and cheeses, fresh fruit salad and yougurt, all served in their nice restaurant overlooking a terrace with plants.really good value for money.
Review 15:Street noise
Review 16:We were accommodated when requesting assistance. Pleasant environment within the building. Only concern was the street noise which began at 6 a.m.
Review 17:Two owners, one very friendly who operates the breakfast shift. The other who operates the evening restaurant more akin to Basil Fawlty in Gourmet Night. A sign saying "No Riff Raff" would not have surprised us when the gentleman in question looked in disdain when we asked a question about the origin of one of the red wines. When asking for an 8:30pm restaurant reservation we were told it had to be 8pm not 8:30pm (despite the restaurant only having 4 other bookings) only for the owner to ring as we were leaving our room at 8:07pm enquiring where we were. Overall I sensed we the customers were somehow an unfortunate necessity of running what was a very high standard restaurant. Shame
Review 18:The hotel is in a good location just as you arrive West into Apt from the D900. It is close/far enough from the City Centre. The room was clean and quiet with good airconditioning. Whilst the room was on the small side it still contained all the necessary elements and was well laid out/decorated. The breakfast for €10pp was very good. Cold meat, cheese, breads, pastries. The quality of the evening restaurant food was also very high.
Review 19:Cannot think of anything
Review 20:Staff helpful and friendly, very individual style in decor, good sized room and bathroom, great location with plenty of parking, lovely dinner and terrific breakfast.
Review 21:As this is a small hotel, after 10pm all the staff left the hotel, i guess this is the tradition of french small hotel.
Review 22:The bed is amazing, the room is very clean and nicely decorated, we only stayed for one night, but really dont want to move , as this is the best hotel during our 10 days trip in south france ! the hotel is also close to everything and restaurants !The staff cannot speaking english( i try my best to speak my poor french) but all very helpful and nice! Highly recommend !
Review 23:Doors in room 1 couldn't be closed without looking.
Review 24:We choose this hotel to stay in during our honeymoon and to explore this beautiful part of France. Hotel itself doesn't look very nice from outside, but when you come in, everything is very nice and comfy, so it is ok. There is even an extra room for reading or just to have some relax time. City of Apt is not the love for a first sight, but when you give it a chance, you will be surprised how nice and friendly it can be. Room was clean and towels were changed daily.
Review 25:The staff was extremely accommodating, going beyond the call of duty to assist us with transportation and child needs. The breakfast and other meals at the hotel restaurant were top-notch and absolutely delicious.
Review 26:Good hotel for seeing area
Review 27:Location in the city of Apt
Review 28:Rather cluttered. Poorly-converted.
Review 29:Really close to main square, staff lovely. Breakfast well worth the money.
Review 30:Aatmosphere and decor
Review 31:Driving the car near. Not the hotels fault but Apts traffic system.
Review 32:Breakfast was brilliant . Dinner delicious. The garden terrace an oasis.
Review 33:I only stayed 1 night.
Review 34:Very clean, lovely decor, amazing breakfast that is well worth 10 euros.
Review 35:Little English spoken by staff. No regional tourist advise offered.
Review 36:The markets on Saturday
Review 37:rudeness of one of the partners
Review 38:central position
Review 39:Good rooms. Good internet. Friendly staff.
Review 40:Everything.
Review 41:Very accommodating staff, very nice breakfasts and nice little garden....we also had dinner there one night...excellent food.
Review 42:No small fridge.
Review 43:Spacious room very good location in Apt.lovely extra sitting room.
Review 44:No complaints at all
Review 45:Lovely little auberge, quirky decor, fantastic breakfast
Review 46:Breakfast
Review 47:How this hotel can get a rating of 8.8 on booking is a miracle. Small, outdated (not even Provence-style quaint). Town not worth staying (stay in Gordes instead).
Review 48:The price of breakfast- 9euros, not included in the room rate. I went to the bar across the footbridge instead.
Review 49:Immaculate and charmingly decorated rooms have the scent of lavender, and white jasmine plants perfume the covered terrace where I enjoyed lunch by the fountain after a hot Saturday market. The house Rose wine is excellent and worth seeking out from the producer, Domaine Puy de Marquis, ask the Hotelier for directions.
Review 50:The reception closes at 18:30, so if you haven't arrived in time, most probably you will loose your room and money (it was prepaid). We arrived at 21:00 and though the restaurant was still open, the receptionist (or it was a waiter?) said that he would give us the room only as an exception. But we didn't manage to eat in the hotel reastaurant 'cause the kitchen was closed already at that time (sic!). I had a birthday on that day and we had planned to have a dinner in that restaurant. But it seems you should check/book everything carefully in advance. Fortunately there are some brasseries nearby. The waiter/receptionst didn't speak English of course, so it was very difficult to understand finally if he gives us a room or not. Luckily I know French a little bit. Then, the room itself looks much better on the pictures rather than in reality. It was small and the decor was not very nice. The toilet in our room was in a separate tine room, so when you sit there your knees are out of the room, the door can harldy be closed. Very funny.
Review 51:free parking places near the hotel
Review 52:We loved this little hotel. We were especially grateful to Stefan who served the most delicious breakfasts each morning, and who gave us excellent advice on where to visit so that we could gain the most from our time in this lovely area.
Review 53:Confusing website. Thought we had booked a room with possibility of balcony- even wrote that in special requests in OCTOBER only to be informed in MAY, right before we arrived and only in response to my email about arrival time and balcony availability, that rooms with showers did not have BALCONIES. Had I been notified in October, I would have changed to a room with bath. Don't think they read special requests or instructions.
Review 54:Easy access to stores and restaurants. Very pretty room with good wifi. Lovely restaurant with garden. Colorful, extensive Saturday market- not to be missed.
Review 55:Location is in a dull town. Difficult to obtain ice....it's a European thing. No washcloths. Only one person who works there.
Review 56:It was clean. Lots of pillows. An extension cord in room. Parking was easy.
Review 57:Very nice little hotel a minute's walk from the center of Apt. Our room was spatious and clean. Breakfast was abundant and very good. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic, both in terms of the quality of the food and the service level.
Review 58:Due to occurrences beyond our control we did not arrive at the venue at our expected time of arrival and had to plead to be able to stay. We were told that it was clear, which I have since confirmed it is not, on their page that they were not open 24Hrs and they initially expected us to make other arrangements. I did not like having to plead to be allowed to take up a booking which was made from Australia. Good news, they capitulated, bad news, no coffee making facilities and we were not offered a culpa and we had not had anything to eat or drink for 8 hours on our journey. Unfortunately would not recommend to tourists outside France.
Review 59:The location was great, central to Apt. There was a nice atmosphere about the place and the breakfast spread was the best we had received to date, mind you we may have just been very hungry.
Review 60:We were the only guests in the hotel ( it was at the end of September) and we have seen the stuff only during breakfast. everything went well, but it is a bit unpleasent to feel you are alown in the hotel.
Review 61:Near to the city center. Good breakfast.
Review 62:The staff is not always available at the hotel.
Review 63:The hotel is nicely located on the river in Apt. Several restaurants and bars around the place, and the hotel itself offers a great breakfast and dinner on request. The room was very nicely done and it was a pleasure to live here for a couple of days. Rooms are equipped with A/C.
Review 64:nice restaurant at the hotel: everything was delicious! enough parking places near the hotel, good starting place to explore the Luberon (there is a tourist office in the center of Apt - Luberon's detailed map is available and personnel is ready to give the advise)
Review 65:The owner Stephan was so helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. It is probably one of the best small hotels from which to explore Provence. The town of Apt is not very picturesque, but very central to the whole area of the Luberon. It is definitely the best value for money!
Review 66:Maybe the city Apt is not so worth seeing as the Baedeker says. Toosmall, dirty, but as a oversleeping during long road trip it´s enough.
Review 67:The hotel was just perfect! It started with the enchanting room andended up with the royal breakfast. We felt like in a movie :-)
Review 68:If only there was a lift , not fun dragging your cases up the stairs.
Review 69:'Monsieur the chef' made our stay! He was affable, attentive and friendly. It was obvious that he cooked from the heart! His attention to detail, presentation and flavours were superb. The hotel is quaint, clean and interesting.perfectly situated, a GEM!
Review 70:We stayed for 3 nights at the Auberge, it was delightful . Chose to take the demi- pension and enjoyed sumptious breakfasts, delicious dinners taken on the softly lit terrace complete with a little fountain. Our bedroom the blue room was beatifully furnished in the provencal style repeated throughout the hotel. The view from the window looked across a bridge to the tree lined road. The staff are courteous but friendly,Stefan and Freddie have created a very special and welcoming atmosphere here.
Review 71:Our room was excellent. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a very good range of fresh food.
Review 72:a bit more choise on the restaurant card would be good as the restaurant is excellent but a bit limited .
Review 73:Friendly , support for excursions , restaurant, quiet , a good startingpoint for visiting the area
Review 74:Small, very cosy and affable hotel. Staff is cordial, gave us handmade guide-map of neighbourhood. Real Provence high quality design from veranda through the stairs, corridors (and salon!) up to room. Luberon, ancient villages and siteviewings are all around Apt - from 5 to 50 kms.
Review 75:breakfast is awesome. The little hotel is so warm and tranquil.
Review 76:Everything exceeded expectations. Restaurant particularly good.
Review 77:Really nice staff and a lovely breakfast.
Review 78:next to downtown, nice room, parking nearby.
Review 79:Toilet in room smelled of stale urine.
Review 80:Old fashioned feel and decor and proximity to town. Saturday market superb so stay on Friday night if you can.

Review 84:Fantastic breakfasts, helpful patron, good location, the smell of lavender in the bedroom.
Review 85:Location,parking near the hotel,staff
Review 86:An unpleasant smell emanated from the bathroom, as if something was notright with the plumbing.
Review 87:Good position for visiting the Luberon Room and bath were spacious, clean and comfortable
Review 88:The ambience was fantastic, beautifully French in the dining room and salon! Lovely food a d the breakfast had to be seen to be believed!
