Reviews for Hôtel Portalet
Review 1:Breakfast not worth 7 euros. Just rolls, juice, coffee.
Review 2:Perfect location. So nice to have shops and food right outside our door. Low price. Nice clean room and pretty lobby and outside facade with ivy and flowers. A tip: to find, look for McDonalds and park anywhere nearby on the street. Then walk to the hotel which isn't too far. After 7pm Saturday parking on street is free until Mon. Morning.
Review 3:No air conditioning, bathroom is pretty old and the shower did not work properly.
Review 4:Great location, in the middle of the old city. Looks quite vintage and authentic.
Review 5:The bathroom door didn't shut completely - not a huge deal but should be fixed.
Review 6:Very nice, big, charming room with balcony, friendly staff, very centrally located.
Review 7:Refreshment could be done in the stairs (change carpets)-i took onebreakfast could offer more choice as fruits cheese...
Review 8:The location in town center, welcome at the hotel, simple and friendlyclean bedroom and bathroom
Review 9:No one there when we went to check in. There were lots of black bugs in our bed, we killed quite a few, and only realised they were bed bugs after we both were covered in bites a few days later.
Review 10:Nice staff
Review 11:On the web sight it said breakfast was included but it cost 7 euro.No aircon so would be hot in middle of summer.
Review 12:Very french style small petite hotel in the heart of everything.
Review 13:Facilities are a bit irrelevant in historical places like this. Sleepy town sreeped in history off the tourist track a bit. Huge room. Breakfast was fine.
Review 14:Location was great, right in the village center. Small cute hotel with friendly staff.
Review 15:Noise from neighbors after midnight. Bruit de voisins après mi-nuit. Walls are not soundproof. Les murs ne sont pas insonorisés.
Review 16:Location. Situation.
Review 17:breakfast very poor. Not really buffet.
Review 18:location very good. Calm during night Staff helpfull
Review 19:* wifi signal not very strong (but who cares when on holiday )
Review 20:* junior suite really nice * airco * price/quality ok * no noise
Review 21:Lose bath taps. No dedicated shower.
Review 22:cleanliness and comfort. Nice airy rooms.
Review 23:Wifi did not work.
Review 24:Located in the historic city, reserved for pedestrians. The hotel can still be reached easily if you travel by car. The room was delightful by its high ceiling, large window, white walls and tasteful decoration. The bahroom was clean and provided with a good shower.
Review 25:The room was not very clean, poor amenities. No elevator so be careful if you travel with 2 pieces of 23kg! Our room wasn't cleaned the 2nd day!
Review 26:We arrived the first night after the time limit for the checkin but they provided us the code to access the hotel and they key was waiting for us. The location is perfect in the old town 50m from the central square with all restaurants and boutiques, the bus stop to Giens/Tour Fondue is just one block away as well.
Review 27:Lack of a/c, no shower screen, no drain plug in bath. Only one towel per day (double room with one occupant, I paid for double). Only one wall outlet in room (8) and that's for the fan, so no spare.
Review 28:(1)No staff during the night.(2)Entrance door (number lock) didn't work well. I could not enter in to the hotel. If it was during the winter, I might catch a cold... (3)Breakfast was too poor. (4)Noisy until 2 or 3 am. (5)Old and dark room. Totally, I never recommend.
Review 29:At city center.
Review 30:Small, oddly arranged room - 'private bathroom' was open shower and basin on one side of the room, with toilet in what at first appeared to be a cupboard on the other! Breakfast expensive at €7, but this now seems normal for France.
Review 31:Great, easily accessible location in old town. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 32:Breakfast not included in price.
Review 33:Central location in Old Town area, restaurants, shops, bus station, sights etc close by. Free Intranet access, did not work well in the roombut was good at reception. Helpful staff, even if their English waslimited. Clean and comfortable room.
Review 34:Location, too much noise at night from diners and drinkers outsidehotel, and in morning from garbage collection, between 4 and 5 inmorning! And restaurants and bars clearing up outside tables and chairsleft from night before.Very difficult to sleep. Nb. To be fair we chose location in historic centre without knowing how noisy it would be at night and early in morning.
Review 35:Room was comfortable enough but air-con wouldn't have gone astray.
Review 36:Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and acommodating, particularlywhen assisting with info on how to get around and recommending goodrestaurants, particularly since I was a female solo traveller.Accommodation was great value with nice room and a great modernbathroom, as well as free wifi. Was in a great location right nearthe old town.
Review 37:no access for the car; carrying luggage a long way through the streets. there was no lift in the hotel. From the window, we looked at a wall opposite. A lot of noise at night; bin men and cleaners; workmen starting very early. not good!
Review 38:the central location
Review 39:No ventilation (air con or fan) at all...even on request. We nearlysuccumbed to buying a fan!Note there is no lift in this hotel....this is to be expected in an old building. (Louis at reception helped with our bags on request)
Review 40:Location was excellent...secure.parking not so far away at maximum 9.50euros per dayPatricia, at reception a bonus for this Hotel. Wi fi available and functioned pretty well. Room 19, on the 3rd floor a definite bonus if you don't mind a hike up the stairs...great terrace overlooking part of the old town. Our price included breakfast which was a good deal Overall a great place to say and we would stay here again
