Reviews for Résidence Mer & Golf Port Argelès
Review 1:Easy check in after closing time. Free upgrade to magnificent room (332 is excellent!) and location right next to harbour. Brilliant for children too with excellent facilities, even out of season. Thanks for a great stay.
Review 2:Superb location with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other as a backdrop. Helpful staff, good rooms, on-site parking and excellent value for money. A simple breakfast but good for the price.
Review 3:Horrible smell of cooked cabbage when we first entered the room. Beds very dirty - under sheets had suspicious curly hair on them and the bed settee was full of peanuts.
Review 4:Lovely location, big apartment and great views.
Review 5:We weren't aware of the need to clean the apartment until we read the brochure in the evening. By this time it was out of office hours and we couldn't get cleaning products(at a cost). It would be better to advised of this on check in.
Review 6:Lovely location, great selection of places to eat. Nice pool area.
Review 7:It is ok...just average. Breakfast was very poor for 8 euros. Tv is poor, you have to make your own bed, no bathroom amenities, for the price, only good for long stay and not for a one night
Review 8:Large room
Review 9:No comfortable seating area outside pool area for those with dogs. Better signage to get to property - GPS useless even with co-ordinates.
Review 10:Good location. Well run secure establishment. Helpful staff.
Review 11:Didn't like the small walled balcony, room 366 not big enough for four adults and a dog. We stayed in June and the space was much better for the same price. Also the mattress had a nasty stain on it, not very hygienic!
Review 12:The location is great we love the area and have stayed in the apartments before.
Review 13:Kitchen facilities very small. Would not of liked to cook a meal for 6 in there. However perfect for our family of 4 as we liked to eat out at great choice of local restaurants very close by
Review 14:Excellent location. Very clean but basic accommodation
Review 15:Poor wifi. The appartment was on the 6th floor but the lift wasn't working suing the two days of our stay so it meant lugging luggage up 6 flights of steps with two children and a disabled gentleman with only limited use of one leg. Not ideal. Also, only 2 towels between 4 people. Not good enough for the extremely high prices charged.
Review 16:Location and surrounding area
Review 17:No air conditioning. Bedroom 2 very small. Kitchenette a bit too small to allow proper cooking but microwave OK.
Review 18:Great location, especially if you have harbour views. Bedroom1, balcony and living room a good size. Nice pool area. Staff very helpful.
Review 19:I paid extra for harbour view, but that could be seen only in the very corner. The direct view was just of a large block of flats. Also, some information was confusing - my booking details said that check-in is from 3, other that it is 5. The same about check-out. My booking information said that cleaning is included, while the bookled given to me at reception claimed that I'll be charged 40 Euros if the flat isn't cleaned up.
Review 20:All staff were very helpful, spoke fluent English. Great location just 5-minute walk from a lovely beach. It was a good appartment with everything I needed. It was comfortable and reasonably clean.
Review 21:Reception was closed when we arrived and so we had to wait over an hour to get into our room. They are quite stingy with what they provide - one toilet roll, one bin bag - so you have to provide your own essentials.
Review 22:Very close to the port and the beach with a lovely private swimming pool. Clean and quite accommodation.
Review 23:EverFull parking No free wifi Dogs on grass .... face to the entry
Review 24:Location, kindness of staff, pool, even Frozen!! Flat Équipement. Playground and gameroom
Review 25:Value. Close proximity to services. Plenty going on. We had marina view side (E to SE) which was good, sometimes a little noisy but a lot going on with the boats. Mountain view side would probably be a bit quieter but less to see (N to W).
Review 26:Only one thing: They don't provide towels in price for accommodation (unless you pay).I think this is particular for France.
Review 27:Everything was excellent. Close to the beach and mountains, views to die for, clean, nice and friendly staff, private parking, etc. etc.. I will go again.
Review 28:Cooking facilities were poor. No oven. Unfortunately our balcony which faced the marina received no sun at all. Pool was very clean but cold brrrrrrr.
Review 29:Excellent position, quiet, easy to visit other places.Great fresh fish on the quay.Excellent restaurants nearby.
Review 30:Only two sets of towels for 5 people for 4 days!
Review 31:The view on the port and the sea from the balconies, well equipped kitchen, air cond, lovely clean swimming pool, nice gardens. Great value for money in September.
Review 32:Groundfloor lack of privacy and outlook. Lack of guaranteed private parking. Sofa bed.
Review 33:Quayside location. Easy access to boats and beach. Big choice of restaurants,well-stocked Casino mini-market and other shops, all reachable under cover,if needed. Excellent stock of kitchen appliances and equipment. Good access to road network along the coast. Value for money.
Review 34:It's an apartment hotel with its special rules (you have to clean your room yourself, especially before you leave) - which is OK with us. But we didn't like the fact that the hotel does not provide the claening gear (for kitchen utensils and floor - I mean things like Fairy and rags/dusters. They offered this for money - which was a little bit ridiculous (when they prodice everything else free - or, to be accurate, everyhting else is included) - so, we just went to a Supermarcher and bough our own. this is a difference with other aparthotels we stayed in within the same trip. I think this should be included into what is available in each room (for convinience). WiFi was not free, you have to pay 2 Euros per day - BUT - to use it you must go to the reception area - which kills all sense/convinience of using WiFi! I suggest to include it into hotel charges and make available everywhere in the hotel.
Review 35:Our apartment was very spacious (some 35 sq meters), with a large balcony and view on the old harbour and sea. You can eat or drink tea or wine at this balcony and enjoy the view. The sea beach (public - like all beaches in France) is in c. 200-300 meters away. Plenty of shops, restaurants and night life just under your windows.
Review 36:Hard to find from the address, the taxi driver had no idea and we had to walk all around the place to figure out where reception was located. We were not warned that reception closes until 3pm, so we had to wait outside for 2 hours in the sun. One roll of toilet paper for a 3 day stay seemed a bit mean, but the reception staff overlooked this weird policy and gave us a second one.
Review 37:Kitchen is well appointed, large balcony with excellent view over the mountains. Reception staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 38:bit of noise from furniture moving in the room above.
Review 39:Its a self catering room in a block, everything you need but quite basic.Plenty of restaurants near bye in the same dock,
Review 40:The rooms are not well cleaned. The linen and towels old and grey. The breakfast choices are limited and not worth the price. The transportation to/from the hotel (for those travelling by train) is a hassle - trainbus advertised all over is not reaching the station and people left to clime to the gare with heavy luggage. Sleep is of poor quality: late noise from entertainment programs nearbye, no aircon -have to open the windows - can here every conversation outside in the street till late in the night. Poor quality of matress and pillows - all has to be fullu scrapped and renewed.
Review 41:Close to the water, excellent views on the see as well as the mountains. Very ffriendly staff, smiling and helpful.
Review 42:Restaurants where very over priced and wasn't worth the money, drinks where an extortionate price too
Review 43:The apartment was good with good views of the harbour and the pool area was very clean.
Review 44:Spacious accommodation - we had a 1 bedroom appt for 2 people. Everything very clean and was very well equipped
Review 45:Difficulty in checking in after hours
Review 46:Location by the sea, good selection of restaurants nearby
Review 47:The spaciousness of the studio. The large swimming pool.
Review 48:Excellent location
Review 49:no WIFI
Review 50:nice location at harbour, quiet and clean
Review 51:Nickel and dime approach to extras.

Review 59:Nothing.
Review 60:Location. Value for money. Facilities.
Review 61:Good organisation for late arrivals.
Review 62:Price was good Good bakery down stairs, Staff were helpfull
Review 63:Dirty balcony. Excrément from pigeons on thé Windows And Walls bugs inside the ROM pour cleaning
Review 64:Location the view
Review 65:Towels should be changed every other day, no light on balcony and no toaster
Review 66:We loved the weather and hotel
Review 67:not air conditioner.
Review 68:Kitchen perfect, clean and able.
Review 69:WiFi not free of charge, no wash powder in the laundry.
Review 70:A real luxury place for moderate money! Helpful stuff, a cosy kitchen with every kind of dishes needed, a dish-washer, just everything you may need.
Review 71:Swimming pool closed[out of season?-but could still be used in Oct/Nov.].Also pool/sunbathing area too small.Too far from some facilities[supermarket, pharmacy, cash machine/foreign exchange].You should state that a car is needed here. Also linen and towel services should be changed more often.
Review 72:Beach/coast location, closeness of some shops/bars/restaurants.Open countryside views/location to the one side of complex.Spacious accomodation building.
Review 73:Your bed setee does not make a good sofa, had to us a plastic chair togive support to my back. The cost of your breakfasts, too expensivelocal bread only .9 euros. No evening lounge area or bar.No bike hirefrom reception.
Review 74:The access to all amenities, shops, restaraunts, boat trips, walkingand beaches.
Review 75:sofa was not great for sitting and relaxing. no oven made it difficult to self cater.
Review 76:If you select a harbour view, you can sit and watch the world go by in the morning whilst having breakfast. Great restaurants and a boulangerie and reasonable all purpose shop within 2 mins walking distance
Review 77:Paid for wifi, but connection was always very poor.
Review 78:Clean and comfortable, but basic accommodation. Pool clean, but very cold! Right on the Port and very near restaurants and shops. Close to the beach.
Review 79:Nice that the residences are close to a small port for leisure boats, but apart from that Argeles didn't satisfy our needs (for eating out, for example), so we ended up driving to other towns. The pool area really isn't very big (compared to similar apartments we have stayed in earlier). Our apartment faced the mountains and, as a consequence, we suffered at bit from street noise (there was a circus right outside the complex).
Review 80:Spacious and fully equipped rooms ... even for cooking a light meal.
Review 81:No air-conditioning (we knew this when we booked, but in 34 °C it really was warm). The pull-out bed was rather hard.
Review 82:Great apartments with great location and view. Good, clean kitchenette. Really nice overall experience near all the liveliness of the port with restaurants and all. Great familypool and a short walk to the beach. My family and I (kids 7, 10) enjoyed it very much.
Review 83:Do NOT take the breakfast offer, There´s nothing continental about it! Flat a bit worn, but clean. Bedlinnen, towels cost extra.
Review 84:Very close drive to Colliure where the real Mediterranean experience is. Worth the money, got an apartment bigger than i payed for. Convenience store and restaurants close. I would recommend sea view.
Review 85:You could not describe the room as luxury, but with a baby that wasn't required.
Review 86:It provided excellent value for the money. The apartment provided all the necessary facilities and was clean and comfortable, if rather utilitarian. It was within easy walking distance to shops, and the sea, and the complex had a very good swimming pool.
Review 87:Wonderful stay! Good accommodations, location, excellent value for the money, right next to the beach, good sized hotel rooms (we had a small apt for 4 people), everything we needed in a beach side hotel!
Review 88:Very slow internet connection during our stay. Some additional prices applicable, not apparent during booking process.
Review 89:English speaking staff and easy going with dogs. Reserved parking places, well equiped rooms, overall user-friendly :-).
