Reviews for B’O Resort & Spa
Review 1:not necessarily bad. but when told to hand over deposit of £250 on a cc, to be reinbursed days after leaving, for incase we broke anything or stole anything or didn't clean the room after us. it was ok for us but if we didn't have it on a card we would have be stumped. not used to having to do that. Spa is not exactly on site but a short walk down a steep hill. think they have expanded the resort and so had to be seperate because of space :)
Review 2:cooking and eating facilities in room were what we wanted to be independent if we wanted . shower and bathroom lovely. pool really nice. ample parking. town was lovely and great restaurants too. sofa bed more comfy that it looked
Review 3:You had to pay 4$ to get a welcome pack with tools to wash your dishes and do your cleaning. The sofa bed isn't comfortable to sleep
Review 4:The swimming pool area
Review 5:The restaurant experience was abysmal... The bed in our room was actually 2 single beds on independent rollers put together... Bed kept coming apart...Made sleeping as a couple very unappealing. But the worst experience has to be the restaurant... The restaurant does not offer dinner except for Saturdays, after the wait to have dinner at the accommodation's restaurant, the meal was a joke. Unbelievably, without any apology terrible!
Review 6:The accommodation and especially the swimming area
Review 7:The restaurant was closed. I had not realised this and had not taken a coat as I did not expect to have to walk into Bagnoles De L'Orne Lac to eat. I was very lucky it was a mild evening. It should be made clearer that except for special events the restaurant only opens at weekends.
Review 8:The Douglas suite was great. A good size with pleasant furnishing and a well equipped kitchenette including a dishwasher. The bed was comfortable and I got a good nights sleep in it.
Review 9:We are 5 mature men on a cycling holiday There was no bar facilities We had paid for breakfast but we had to wait 10 minutes before before being shown table There was a badly chipped cup that was swapped with a cup at another table by a waitress There was no clearing tables by waitress and when I moved our dirty plates to an empty table the waiter was very rude All five of us have voted this worst of the 10 accommodations so far on our trip to Normandy
Review 10:The wifi was poor and there should have been a bar available for guests in the late afternoon and evening. It felt a bit quiet at times.
Review 11:Beautiful old building but very modern inside. The apartments were a great size and the children slept in a room away from ours so everyone could get some sleep. Fantastic pool area where we spent a lot of time. Really good and accessible path in to town. Good children's play area. Good choice of tv channels, great bathroom, very clean. Great price.
Review 12:We definately did not enjoy the fact that we had to clean the apartment and be out the next morning by 11am. When on holidays this should have been in on the price or made clear when booking. Takes the enjoyment of eating in the apartment away as with a family its expensive to eat out. For an apartment catering for six I would have expected another room at least, not a sofa.
Review 13:We liked the overall view of the Apartments and the kids liked the swimming pool, it is set in a beautiful location and town.
Review 14:It is a very late check in/early check out but we were able to use the facilities in the meantime
Review 15:We stopped here on our journey home from Southern Spain with 4 children aged 7-9 months and it was fantastic! Much more than we expected - the children's pool was great, the staff were super and the crèche was an added bonus! So much to see and do in the area it would have been good to stay longer!
Review 16:Kitchen only had hob and microwave and is tiny and we were tired so we decided to eat in the restaurant. Limited choice of food especially for children but the town looked pretty with lots of restaurants so will venture out next time
Review 17:The rooms were lovely and spotlessly clean as was the whole resort. Pool was amazing and the children had a great time. Set in a beautiful location.
Review 18:I found the sofa comfortable but the bed hurt my partners back being too soft. The steam room was luke warm.
Review 19:The area was very nice. The room was a good size and the bathroom was good. Good kitchenette with everything you needed.
Review 20:Breakfast is expensive and the limited hot selection ran out before we got there.
Review 21:B'O Cottage is quite unique - a family oriented apartment hotel - peaceful and scenic location
Review 22:Staff don't speak English. Their service attitude is lacking. We were asked for a deposit of 240 EUR which was not on their website.
Review 23:Great location. Great property with nature, walking paths and incredible spas. Clean and functional rooms. Facilities are great. Swimming pool was a hit with my 11 year old
Review 24:The was a cold atmosphere, the place is new and we were made to sign a pre-agreement of €250 on arrival that would cover; any possible damage, bath ropes being taken or cleaning of the kitchen (which is not included). It's the first time I have come across such an agreement and it made me feel very uncomfortable. The restaurant/ breakfast room was very small with a limited choice.
Review 25:The adult and childrens' pool and the enthusiastic male babysitter in the children's club.
Review 26:The caution of €250 is steep and it's not released for 5 days. No "etat de lieu" is done so you must rely on the opinion of the housekeeper as to whether or not you left the kitchen clean and didn't steal the towels and gowns.
Review 27:Very clean, well run, staff try to speak in English and are helpful. Pool etc wonderful. Gardens and forest lovely. Very quiet. The sofa bed was very large and very comfortable.the mattresses in the bedroom were also firm and comfortable.
Review 28:No vegetarian breakfast Sofa was not very comfy Fee for using the kitchen area Pillows were flat and square
Review 29:south facing balcony Clean and comfortable Nice shower room Location within walking distance of the town
Review 30:Rooms are rather small. Shower stall is not made for a comfortable shower, rather small box. No soap for handwashing in bathroom. Long hospital like hallways.
Review 31:You have to clean the kitchen yourself and you have to bring your own cleaning supplies or buy the kit from them. The pillow was not that comfortable.
Review 32:Excellent apartment style room. Spacious, comfortable and well-styled. Beautiful grounds and impressive swimming pool, with separate pool for kids. Loved having a balcony. Quiet surroundings, great for relaxing.
Review 33:The walk back from town is up a very very steep hill The opening times of the bar & restaurant are a bit strange
Review 34:Excellent spa pool area Quiet location
Review 35:I found the kitchen facility very useful, as you don`t always wish to eat in restaurants or cafes .The room was a good size, with a balconey. The bed was a little hard, but that is just personal taste.
Review 36:No bed, just a sleeping couch. This was not clear showing before booking! WLAN signal in room was not strong enough to use it - too slow, with breakdowns. Not possible to read (small) e-mails at all.
Review 37:Ambient, freindly personnel
Review 38:Room at the rear with little sun on balcony and a busy access to one of the car parks and walk to town. Noisy underfoot as it has a loose gravel surface.
Review 39:Nice small town with good choice of restaurants
Review 40:Shame the sauna and the kids facilities were not available. Sauna was out of order for 3 days.
Review 41:Amazing swimming pool, very good facilities, comfortable hotel , great location.
Review 42:The living room in Douglas suite is noisy at night due to the fan which we could not turn off! The sofa bed is - somehow expectedly - also not very comfortable. It would probably not cost much to add soap at the sink in the - otherwise immaculate - bath. A Hair-dryer at request only.
Review 43:Staff was welcoming, parking is big, the resort - 'cottages' - is at the outskirts of B d'O. Did not check the spa but it is not very nearby. The room is new, clean and decently equipped.
Review 44:Very clean, quiet, lovely staff, great breakfast and let our kids use the Kids Club even though we stayed only one night...brilliant will book again...
Review 45:I didn't find the cottages durring the night at arround 22:00 h. On info phone number I got answer only from auto answerer in french. So my fault or bad luck but finaly by help from booking.com find a buck-up hotel in the same village. Thanks to booking.com!
Review 46:Minor issue. Wifi signal was very poor in the room. Had to go to reception to pick up signal. But live with the issue...not complaining.
Review 47:Everything, including pool. Lovely studio. Friendly staff.
Review 48:People walking by and staring into the unit. No tinting on the windows on the ground floor where we were so they could see right inside. To sum up - lack of privacy
Review 49:The free wi fi was very weak in our apartment so I can expect a bill from my 3G provider also sky news would be a bonus on the television
Review 50:The location was perfect, the apartment was excellent the facilities were very good sitting on the balcony eating our evening meal was to die for.
Review 51:Reception is open only from morning until 7 pm, even though it's a big hotel complex. Bed in our studio was a sofa bed. It was comfortable, but for heavier/taller guests might not be enough. We could hear easily voices from neighbouring room, maybe through a connecting door. Otherwise it was quiet. We were told surprising rules on arrival: The self catering studio's kitchen must be cleaned and rubbish taken with us, and we had to check out latest 10 am. Otherwise they demanded extra (which was almost 50% of the night rate we paid). Self catering studio's kitchen had a washing machine, but we had to have all cleaning products with us. Not even washing liquid or cloths were offered. Overall kitchen is well equipped, but don't forget to bring also salt, pepper, oil etc...
Review 52:Beautiful, modern studio was full of light and balcony with views towards green countryside. Bathroom was spacious. Nightly rate was very reasonable. We spent one night during our road trip, and regretted that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the spa and cute village.
Review 53:Unsure about final cleaning charge. We had to clean kitchen but cleaned whole apartment just in case.
Review 54:Beds made up already. Size of main bedroom & bathroom. Patio overlooking garden. Modern.
Review 55:Most of all the staff didn't bother to say in advance anything, neither restaurant is closed on Sundays, nor towels are changed once a week. Cleaning is also ones a week, for 4star hotel it's ridiculous! No towels at pool area also. Btw you should clean the kitchen area yourself before checkout and also dispose the garbage. 4star hotel. Also no real bed in double room, just a sofa.... Pls read the rules of staying here.
Review 56:Pool area is really nice indeed
Review 57:Rooms a bit stuffy at night. Says sleeps 6, but a tight tight, and not clear that only 1 bedroom, one a hall way with bunk beds in. However the put me up was a kingsize bed and very comfy! Didn't like there not being a receptionist on after 9 - we had an emergency at night time and need to go to the hospital - would have been good to have someone to help with this.
Review 58:Great location and facilities. Great value
Review 59:The staff at reception were rude! I was over charged by €100 and the receptionist was not pleased when I brought it to her attention and became very unhelpful! I wasn't informed about any facilities... The code to get back in the door at night or where the rubbish goes it what time check out is! The town is a good 5 minute drive from the 'resort' and it was after 7pm by the time we arrived after a long drive and we're told we could not get in to the restaurant for dinner and that ready meals could be ordered but we couldn't have one that night because we didn't give 4 hours notice! I will not be returning!
Review 60:It was clean
Review 61:Wifi hit and miss Telephone system for the resort was hopeless (we tried to ring to say we would be late and to ask for the code and we either got cut off or couldn't get through Given we were only there for two nights a sml amount of washing up liquid/cloths/dishwasher tablet would have been helpful
Review 62:Apartment good size Very clean Nice complex Good night sleep Very handy living accomodation
Review 63:The decor in the apartments is a bit grey! gives you the feeling of a prison cell when you first arrive!
Review 64:Overall I would highly recommend this place. It is very new & some things need finishing off - but overall very clean & comfortable with a fantastic indoor swimming pool. We stayed 7 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a great location
Review 65:bed mattress hard no towel to dry dishes
Review 66:Superb swimming pools, kids water slides and pools great apartment facilities great very peaceful bathrobes supplied day long kids camp
Review 67:It was about 20 min walk into town. If you didn't want to cater for yourself and wanted to eat in the restaurant there was little selection. One of our children wanted the takeaway grilled chicken and potatoes but they had ran out of potatoes. There is not really a bar area to have a drink.
Review 68:With an excellent selection. The swimming pool was also good. The town was very nice.
Review 69:Arrived at 8pm, couldn't get a drink or meal at the hotel as bar and restaurant closed, also the leisure facilities so no swimming for our boys. Also no staff around to ask about facilities including drinks or wi-fi. Very bizarre for a 4 star. Room was a suite but boys had bunk beds which isn't mentioned in the room details - also no tea/coffee making facilities and no oven so despite it being a 'self catering' style apartment, easier to eat out. There's a charge if you don't clean the kitchen too! No draining board next to the sink either - strange. Can recommend The Lido bistro in town, great food and service til late. Also take your own milk and tea bags! Little things but we were baffled how the B'o Cottage got its 4 star status without a manned receptipn after 7pm and these smaller details for guest comfort.
Review 70:Ckean suite
Review 71:Restaurant closed. Strange atmosphere, a sanatorium crossed with'The Prisoner' (old tv show.) Being told I had to 'cleanthe kitchen and take out the garbage before leaving' - it began todawn on me I hadn't booked a 4* hotel as I'd thought. Ihadn't seen the room at this point and was already fizzing aboutthe closed restaurant. Not a good start after a long journey. Did notlike Having to upgrade to get a proper bed. And I thought I paid forthe upgrade up front via Booking w/site? But Card has been chargedextra. Breakfast seemed good but cooked food tasted most peculiar, andI hate coffee from a machine, is it so hard to make fresh for guests?Parking away from entrance.
Review 72:Cleanliness, comfort. Just stayed overnight so spa facilities wereirrelevant, I thought I had booked a hotel with spa; my mistake.Good value, - at the moment. Forced into town by closed restaurant,it was much more fun in town and would choose to stay there over thespa in future.
Review 73:We are in tons but there did not seem to be restaurant facilities at the hotel had we required a group dinner
Review 74:Seclusion and parking. Did not have a chance to take advantage of facilities as only a one night overnight stay.
Review 75:No side bars on bottom children's bunk - our son fell out one night Restaurant only open 3 nights a week Early bar closure Really hard to find at first - no signposts
Review 76:Amazing apartment Lovely children's pool Nice breakfast Lovely bathroom Loads of towels and bathrobes Good kitchen facilities
Review 77:In the kitchenette, I would have been pleased to see a small bottle/capsule perhaps of "Liquide Vaiselle" & a cloth to dry coffee cups after we had used them but only a minor detail, I would certainly recommend this short break to anybody. Well done B'O.....................
Review 78:Absolutely everything from apartment, setting, location, efficiency of web site & ease of booking, comfort & facilities in apartment but most of all my early morning swim in the beautiful spa pool. Totally alone & completely relaxed in the most luxurious pool I have ever enjoyed. Thank you.
