Reviews for Logis Hotel Au Site Normand
Review 1:Disappointed in the dinning room menu options - same meal two days running and for a highly acclaimed Logis food classification it was very disappointing. The breakfast was standard fare at premium price. Not stay again.
Review 2:No heating in room in December. Small evening menu and of poor quality.
Review 3:The location in the middle of the village. Close to port and ideal location to visit the Swiss Normandy region.
Review 4:Our room was perfect for us but would not be accessible if you had mobility difficulties.
Review 5:Lovely location in a pretty village. Very friendly staff. Excellent meal in the restaurant in the evening. A little pricey but definitely worth the expense!
Review 6:Slightly limited menu choice if staying for more than a couple of days.
Review 7:Great central Suisse Normande location with lovely walks straight from the hotel. Good restaurant if limited choice.
Review 8:Expensive breakfast at 12 euros each - just head 30 yards across the pretty town square to the bakery / cafe instead.
Review 9:Restaurant is superb - michelin star quality for food, decor/spacing and service. Staff fantastic from check-in and throughout a fantastic meal. It's more of a restaurant with rooms than a hotel, but our room was great too.
Review 10:Restaurant outstanding for evening meal. Superior room had lovely terrace to enjoy afternoon sun. We arrived very late but had left message and map showing room and key so no problem
Review 11:When I arrived the hotel was locked with no explanation or notice visible saying why. The "hotel" did not open until 5pm. When I checked in I asked if I could get dinner, to be told "we don't open the restaurant on a Monday night." I found a nice little cafe around the corner, so I ate there. When I got back to the hotel (about 19:45), it was locked up again. I HAD NOT been warned about that. I imagined that my room key would open one of the many outside doors - but it did not. Managed to force the door at reception or else I would not have got to bed, and all my stuff was inside. Breakfast was over priced, small, and had little choice.
Review 12:The village and surrounding countryside is beautiful. Lots of good birdsong.
Review 13:A slight criticism - the lighting in the room could be brighter.
Review 14:The welcome the moment we walked in the door, the fact that we were given the junior suite instead of the room we had booked, because we were the only guests in the hotel. Breakfast in our room at no extra charge. The wonderful dinner in the restaurant with superb service and very reasonably priced wine.
Review 15:If you arrive on a Saturday, do book dinner in advance. We failed to do that, so had a long walk to/from alternative restaurant.
Review 16:Good location, very comfortable.
Review 17:WiFi only worked on ground floor and needed to log in each time it was used Lots of steps and different levels
Review 18:Large rooms Good food Pretty village Pleasant staff Sunny courtyard Special Chef's Mystery Dinner
Review 19:restaurant closed on mondays, had to stand outside until 1700 hrs and then access very difficult via the back door then up the very narrow and steep stairs
Review 20:the breakfast was a typical french delight and very good ,since we first stayed here many years ago ,many very good improvements have been and it is now very smart
Review 21:We upgraded to a premium room which was dark and overlooked by the room opposite, no privacy. Not much room for luggage or to hang clothes.
Review 22:Staff were very friendly and meals wee good
Review 23:Breakfast limited and same every day . Expensive for what is provide.
Review 24:Good food but limited menu if staying for more than five nights.
Review 25:It was excellent
Review 26:Excellent value and great location for this efficiently run hotel.
Review 27:Breakfast nothing beats a god English breakfast. Continental not the same
Review 28:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely meal.

Review 30:Liked it all.
Review 31:Extra helpful staff Comfy room Good food Lovely location
Review 32:Overpriced beer
Review 33:Very friendly staff, good location, peaceful
Review 34:nothing
Review 35:Peaceful, charming village, comfortable hotel with good food
Review 36:The cuisine of this Logis is quite outstanding - superb dinner and excellent service, unexpected at this level in a small local hotel.
Review 37:Car park not within hotel grounds a little way down a steep hill. No lift very narrow circular polished wooden stairs in centre of hotel. not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Wi-Fi non existent in attic bedroom only really available near reception. very little hanging and storage space. Restaurant & Hotel were closed on Sunday evening without our knowledge, difficult to find somewhere to eat at 8pm. No owners around when we checked out on Monday morning. No outside seating
Review 38:Friendly and helpful owners, wonderful food, room clean and spacious (we booked a Premium room), help with luggage on arrival, but not from car park, tea and coffee making facilities, dog welcomed
Review 39:The bed was a bit hard on on the left side it was saggy. Beware: on Mondays all businesses are closed!!!
Review 40:We loved everything, from the friendliness of the staff, to the quiteness of the balcony facing the lovely terrace. Perfect location for great hiking tours.
Review 41:did not get a room which matched the description I had booked though the price charged did - I aahd waited while the couple before me argued their bill down and decided it was'nt worth the hassle doing the same
Review 42:charming old inn with good facilities for good weather - unfortunately no restaurant service the night we stayed
Review 43:We've been stopping off at Au Site Normand for several years on Sunday night en route for ferry. Given a good welcome. Though hotel restaurant is now closed on Sunday evening, we were directed to a pleasant restaurant on the banks of the Orme river.
Review 44:Car park 50 yds down a steep hill
Review 45:All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room, not one of their best, was clean, quiet and had that in definable French charm. The restaurant and dinner was a highlight. All this within a lovely village
Review 46:Succesful combination of modern rooms in historic setting, located in the centre of town. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast has adequate, but for some perhaps too limited, choice. Excellent gastronomy at dinner for a reasonable price. Ideal location for discovering the surrounding peaceful and quiet valleys on foot or bike.
Review 47:N/A
Review 48:The cuisine is first class and very reasonable served in nice surroundings by very friendly staff. The hotel is situated in the middle of great walking country with planned walks to suit every ability. We discovered this hotel almost three years ago and plan to go for a fourth visit next spring
Review 49:No lift to the bedroom which was on the second floor at the top of a narrow spiral staircase.
Review 50:The location is ideal for an overnight stop from the Channel Ports
Review 51:There wasn't anything we didn't like. The staff were very helpful especially with the weather forecast (It was the weekend of the storm ) It is an ideal stop over on way up to channel ports .Food was outstanding.
Review 52:Shower head had to be hand held. The comfy chair wasn't, and there was only one such chair. Would have been useful to know about access to the garden area. Room lighting could have been stronger.
Review 53:Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was serviced well on a daily basis.
Review 54:our return visit this year.Room comfy and food was superb.Great to see young staff being trained and doing very well. Lovely village and surrouinding area.
Review 55:I love gourmet food but unfortunately I cannot eat it as I much as I would like, so some simple dishes would be good.
Review 56:We have been to the hotel on several occasions. Now they have a kettle etc and safe in the bedroom. Excellent!!
Review 57:The real letdown was the restaurant service. We ordered abottle of wine -Muscadet, one of the cheapest at about 15€ whereas others were more than 30€, but the wine itself was fine. The problem was they opened it and poured it then put it on a table out of our reach, but never came back and checked that we needed top ups. In the end I had to ask, then again after no service, I got up and just grabbed to bottle myself. The worst service ever from a supposedly gourmet restaurant.
Review 58:Our room is reasonably spacious and has a balcony with seats. Room is light but a bit bland. Ensuite is OK and has a shower.
Review 59:At dinner, at which we did not arrive particularly late, our order wastaken quite soon, but then an hour passed before we were given any foodat all, even bread. I think this was an oversight as several diners whoarrived long after us had finished two courses before we were given ourfirst as when we managed to attract the attention of a waiter, bread wasbrought, and the wine we had ordered, followed by our first course, butwith no apology. We were already tired after a long day's driving, with another one to follow. This was the one feature of our one-nightstay which would prevent us from praising this Logis unreservedly. Wedid not raise this with the management at reception since it was toolate for them to do anything about it and I would not be mentioning itnow if you had not contacted me.
Review 60:Very helpful and courteous staff at reception, especially when one ofthe party mislaid her camera (since found) Electric kettles in bothrooms were welcome. Spacious dining-room - and the impression that theother clients were French added to the feeling of authenticity.
Review 61:There was not anything to really dislike.
Review 62:The food and accommodation ,excellent, the staff were very helpful We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 63:Leaving, wish we had booked longer
