Reviews for Hôtel de la Capelle

Review 1:Remote out of batteries, no soap in shower, no toothpaste or brush, but most of all and I hope it was unrepresentative it was VERY VERY noisy during the night to early morning. Woken up at 2am and 4am.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:It was very difficult to find the hotel when coming by car! The access could not be entered by car and we could not find a free parking place nearby. We ended up in a large public underground parking, almost empty with no guard. From there we had to search for the hotel. Getting our luggage to the hotel was difficult. There was a 70-steps (!) stairway, but access from outside was blocked by a locked door. There is an elevator in the parking, but not nearby the hotel. A private parking, as promised in the documentation (at €5,= ) was non existing. With a card from the hotel (at €7,=) we could leave the parking the next morning. Due to the access problem we do not recommend this hotel for travelers by car.

Review 4:The young lady at the reception desk was very helpfull and friendly. She was the only staff we have seen. The room was acceptable. The location in the center very good, except for cars.

Review 5:The room could be more homely with some pictures and a corner chair but this is minor.

Review 6:Very comfortable accommodation in a great location and provides all of the essentials for a short stay. Great value for money and highly recommended for travellers on the move.

Review 7:Good location although doing work nearby so sat nav will not be able to take you there. However owners sorted out parking close by.Fully refurbished rooms.

Review 8:Breakfast basic. Very noisy. Men working next door.

Review 9:Friendly couple. Beautiful view but obscured by building close by. Lovely central location with many friendly restaurants. Had a nice walk after evening meal

Review 10:The premises was dingy and smelled of drying dampness as if it had been flooded and now smelled musty. Access to the hotel was very difficult, made more difficult by major building development outside the hotel

Review 11:We saw only one member of staff; presumably the manager/owner. She was pleasant and very helpful.

Review 12:There are extensive works going on in the square where the hotel is situated. Impossible to park nearby & a very messy & difficult path to the front door. Work continues until the end of September 2015. Be warned.

Review 13:You get what you pay for. Basic amenities. Fortunately the air con worked, after a fashion, as it was extremely hot.

Review 14:Be aware large scale building work going on beside the hotel which might restrict your access

Review 15:Good value, central location, within very easy walking distance of town centre, friendly and helpful staff There was no light in the toilet and no soap in the shower dispenser but this was immediately rectified after telling the lady on reception. the room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering the amount of building work going on over the road.

Review 16:Parking and access was a bit awkward due to almost completed building work in front of the hotel - no doubt completed by now -though parking was free as advertised, so only a minor issue.

Review 17:Central location was great for walking round this vibrant town. This hotel made a great stopover for visiting the nearby world famous Millau Viaduct - amazing!

Review 18:It was very hot and the air conditioner didn't work. Because of its location there was a lot of noise at night. Because of building work taking pace next door it was dusty and noisy during the day. The building site overlooked the breakfast area.

Review 19:The bedroom had been newely decorated and was very clean

Review 20:Unforunately, a new shopping centre is being built right in front of the hotel, so unless it's a week-end they syart work at 7.30am! Has been going on for 7 years and has completely destroyed the view from the downstairs terrace.

Review 21:Good value and handy for restaurants etc. Very helpful lady on reception and facilities not bad for the price.

Review 22:I developed a medical problem just before arriving at the hotel. The manager has been brilliant at extending my stay after the others in the group carried on, organising crutches and buying me meals. She went beyond the call of duty.

Review 23:No downside - building work didn't affect me apart from making it slightly more difficult to reach front door of hotel than it would otherwise be.

Review 24:The very friendly lady running the hotel. Its proximity to the old town. Spacious room with nice outlook, notwithstanding municipal building works on its doorstep.

Review 25:Next to a large building site with all the associated noises/banging/dust

Review 26:Position to shops and restaurants Just a minutes walk from hotel. Parking on site could be difficult if you have a large car. Otherwise three minute walk away but secure. When building works finished next? year position is fantastic. Breakfast adequate. Manageress and 1 staff very good.

Review 27:Having been let down by a booking at another hotel, this was a last minute find on the internet. Although we arrived very late, the family were warmly welcomed and staff even reserved a car parking space on the side of the street to ensure that we had somewhere to park overnight.

Review 28:No lift which may be a problem for some. There were building works going on and these will still be continuing for a while but we didnt find it too bad. They stopped reasonably early and didnt use electric equipment before 8am. Not very easy to find so a good look at a map of the town or streetview is a good idea. Car park is a 5 minute walk so make sure you have everything with you. Car park gate was a nightmare but at least it was safe. We saw several cars being ticketed the following day on the main streets.

Review 29:Good location. Near to many eating places including Place Marcel Foch. Warm welcome and given leaflets and guides (in English if required). Nice views. Would recommend Millau.

Review 30:no tea and coffee making facillities in our room, or shower gell only small bar of soap,

Review 31:very close to the town, very welcoming owner, nothing was to much trouble, the room was nice and comfortable.

Review 32:Poor Wifi

Review 33:Good frendly staff.

Review 34:No wi fi as advertised , had to go out and find wi fi spot so as to book next leg of our journey

Review 35:No problems within our needs on this occasion

Review 36:Perfect for a one night stay in exactly the location we needed it.

Review 37:Used this for a 1 night stop over, very good would use again even for a little longer.

Review 38:Major construction next door unfortunately made accessibility difficult.

Review 39:Central location, cool room, helpful staff.

Review 40:No wifi in rooms and parking is not very good at the moment building work should finish sept 2015

Review 41:Friendly staff good breakfast near all restaurants

Review 42:Very Spartan room.

Review 43:Value

Review 44:everything about it... recommendable 100%

Review 45:Location to old town and friendly and helpful host

Review 46:Not a great choice for breakfast, but adequate

Review 47:Friendly staff, reasonable price and good location, pet friendly at no cost...

Review 48:Hard to find a parking space

Review 49:Friendly staff, nice rooms with good airco,in the centre

Review 50:Due to building work nearby the car parking was away from the hotel

Review 51:The Staff were very helpful and friendly

Review 52:building works nextdoor for new commercial centre

Review 53:location

Review 54:Nothing.

Review 55:Lady at reception was very plesent and helpful.

Review 56:Secure parking no longer available but free parking nearby on street(if you can find a place). We did.

Review 57:Excellent location right in the heart of town.Basic but clean

Review 58:We was ok for parking but not sure other parking

Review 59:This is a 2star hotel and the rooms what you expect the staff ,position for centre and restaurants is very good breakfast is good would go back

Review 60:Breakfast is poor value for money. It's not bad - just expensive for what it is. There is a major construction site in front of hotel, when I was there no one was working but beware it could be noisy during the day.

Review 61:Central location and parking. Rooms were fine for the price but were a bit tired but fine nevertheless. The staff were nice and accomodating.

Review 62:The room was quite sparsely furnished with a bed, chair and desk. Only one pillow each, which makes it very difficult to prop yourself up comfortably to read etc at the end of the day.

Review 63:Fabulous view of the Tarn Gorge from our window, an easy walk to the town centre, museums, river walks and the train station. There were also several nice little bar/restaurants a short walk away. Bathroom reasonable with a good hot shower.

Review 64:Not much wardrobe space in Room 14 (armoire trop petit). Very few drawers (tres peu de tiroirs). Big room but not enough surfaces, so it's difficult to spread out + feel comfortable (chambre spacieuse mais il manque des surfaces pour mettre tes affaires, donc il est difficile de vraiment t'installer ou te sentir a l'aise).

Review 65:Very friendly + flexible staff! We needed to arrive after 22:00 + they made easy arrangements for the key. Great shower. Spacious + simple rooms. Plenty of blankets. Firm but comfortable mattress.

Review 66:... perhaps as a result, we were unable to access the Internet using Wifi in our room, and had to go to the lobby in order to do so.

Review 67:Very pleasant : the manager was very helpful, the location extremely central, 70€ for a quadruple (1 adt & 3 chd) was quite reasonable. Our quadruple was at the end of the corridor, therefore nice & quiet ; however, ...

Review 68:Felt like staying in a hostel and not a hotel. Room was very basic and sparse. The mattress was uncomfortable and needs replacing - could feel coils. Breakfast was very basic - croissant and jam or cereal - expected more for the price.

Review 69:A good location

Review 70:Some corridor lights did not work, One of Fire-Exits was LOCKED and blocked - statutory notices missing from the room - all a shame as otherwise it was BRILLIANT!

Review 71:Really spacious room and everything worked! Good bed and super WiFi. Good self service breakfast and super-friendly staff. Lovely breakfast lobby, great terrace and views - possibly a bit worrying what is being developed just beyond the terrace??? Currently parking available next door in a development site - not sure what will happen later?

Review 72:Room was clean and comfortable, ideal for a one night stop over. Very comfy bed after along day of travelling. Spectaular view from window of the surrounding mountains and good secure parking, well worth the money. Thank you.

Review 73:Not that obvious to find, look for the wire cage parking area near the mini roundabout. Parking area seems to be the local dog walking area. The hotel overlooks a massive building site (which may add useful amenities once completed)

Review 74:Used as a simple break en route the hotel's 2x double family unit was fine for our needs. Free parking in hotel compound. Walking distance of city centre.

Review 75:They were digging the square up outside the hotel Hotel was signed well but on our return they had fenced off even more of the town for a music festival

Review 76:Handy for centre of Millau. Parking available adjacent hotel . Secure too .

Review 77:Our gps had particular difficulties describing how to get there. Irecommend printing a detailed map before you go.

Review 78:Clean, simple, with convenient parking, perfect for our one night stay.Recommended nearby restaurant was excellent.

Review 79:Desperately needs updating then would fantastic.

Review 80:Location was great, clean and comfortable.. And good parking as arrived right in the middle of the music fete.

Review 81:This hotel is very basic - dark stairway with worn carpet - stale smell -lino floor covering in bedroom - there is a huge building works going on beside the hotel and view from window enormous cranes and cement mixers starting work at 7 am !

Review 82:Good location and car parking -

Review 83:Dogs accepted at the hoteland at in the village. Plenty of parking. Hotel clean but functional.Perfect for an overnight stay whille travelling elsewhere.

Review 84:Great location near many restaurants. Nice view from the seating area outside the hotel, shame about the cranes building some concrete monstrosity, enjoy the view while it is still there! Dozens of parasailers can be viewed hovering around the mountain opposite the hotel in the early evening.

Review 85:Access by car a little awkward and narrow.

Review 86:Very convenient for Millau centre. Friendly staff, good size, clean rooms. Comfortable bed and soft pillows - best nights sleep in a while .... Not a vast choice for breakfast, but adequate with excellent croissants. The building works next door not a problem, in fact quite entertaining to watch.

Review 87:No complaints at all

Review 88:It is a very basic hotel that is next to a huge construction site, that being said it was very comfortable with large rooms and large bathroom with a good shower, that was separated by a door from the bedroom, The room had double glazing and roll down shutters that kept out all the noise of the site next door, in fact it was great watching the cranes and all the work going on. The hotel situation was fantastic for exploring the town. I would really recommend this hotel for value for money and comfort.

Review 89:Outstandingly friendly staff. Airy bright rooms. Right in the centre oftown - walk to the restaurants. Free parking. Cheap! In a beautiful area- Tarn gorges. What more could one ask?

Review 90:Central Location - Old Centre of Millau, value for money, basic facilities yet great enough for a pleasant stay

Review 91:Its in the middle of a massive building site until April 2016

Review 92:close to the center of town

Review 93:Location Location Location

Review 94:The lady owner was very friendly and helpful, even tho' I arrived at 00.30 hrs, having been lost for 4 hours on the roads.

Review 95:Breakfast a bit expensive for what it is. No secure parking on site.

Review 96:Nice terrasse to have breakfast. Air conditioning.

Review 102:Location, nice views, price

Review 103:The breakfast was disappointing.

Review 104:Central location. We were traveling back from Spain, the hotel was warm and friendly.

Review 105:Noise from other guest rooms, especially from plumbing. Pillows too flat.

Review 106:Breakfast (while very basic) was included and coffee was good!

Review 107:All of the above. Lovely "chalet" in the town. Central. Friendly owner.

Review 108:Location Friendly helpful staff Secure Parking

Review 118:It's not luxury but you aren't paying luxury money so what do you expect!

Review 119:Get exactly what you expect Parking By far best is staff.

Review 120:Parking in front of the hotel, excellent place for visiting Millau center.

Review 121:Close to city centre. Friendly personnel.

Review 122:Corridor lighting could be improved.
