Reviews for Auberge Fleurie

Review 1:Thin walls (but no bad guests so it was no problem). Carpeted toilet and generally needs renovating (who cares I'm not after 5 stars).

Review 2:It's cheap so I came with low expectations and it was better than I expected. The wifi worked well.

Review 3:Can you tell something is not quite right with a place to stay when you arrive? There seemed to be a bit of a "negotiation" taking place with guests who were checking out and the lady/proprietor when I arrived to check in. This took almost 10 minutes to sort out, much shaking of heads and, what appeared to be an unsatisfactory resolution for both sides - a discussion over what the final bill should be was begrudgingly agreed. No surprise then that I was asked to pay "upfront" which I did.The room was, not to put too fine a point on it, horrible. It was cheap though. It was in desperate need of decorating. "What do in the event of a Fire" notices were home-printed, laminated and pinned up with drawing pins. My immediate thoughts were that what I should do in the event of a fire was to just accept that this was probably my time to leave this earth (punishment for my sin in staying here?)The "ensuite" bathroom was shabby. No it wasn't shabby, I apologise - It was shabby and dirty. The toilet bowel was an unsettling shade of brown, several decades of bowel evacuation rendering it with a patina that no amount of modern (or ancient) chemical cleaning products could dislodge. The "shower" (I've used quotation marks deliberately) amounted to no more than a tiny, wall hung device that had no shower head - it looked like a tap attached to a piece of hosepipe with a perforated bottle cap over it. The shower curtain's lower section was covered in black mould. Shower curtains are really, massively expensive to replace - their cost can run into hundreds of Euros. Can't they? The room was cheap though.Expecting privacy in a hotel room? Of course you are. I was too. Why, then, were there no curtains in the window, just flimsy nets (my room was on the ground floor)?I ended up hanging a blanket from the bed over the curtain pole to try and achieve some kind of privacy from outside.

Review 4:If the house was brought up to date keeping the character the vendors could charge so much more, lovely location. Option of a cooked breakfast would be good.

Review 5:The area and position, very friendly staff.

Review 6:the best place to relax, owners very friendly, good hotel for riders by bicycles and motorcycles, they take carry your bike, very good food, silent in the night, We were there by motorcycle two days in this hotel-it was good time for us, city is beautiful,

Review 7:Breakfast wasn't great for the price, just bread and jam and coffee or tea. The landing was very dark, not always a lightswitch next to the door.

Review 8:The room was good, very nice bathroom. Parking at the back was convenient. Separate entrance from restaurant.

Review 9:Arrived at 5pm to find we had to wait an hour as reception shut between 2pm -6pm, had to sit in the car park for an hour. Breakfast was nice but no fruit, cold meats yoghurts etc. We only had mini croissants and bread and jam. It was set out on a trolley that got moved along to the next table as soon as someone else came to eat. It would be better to have more options and set out on a table that you could just go and help yourself.

Review 10:Beds were very comfortable. Evening meal was well priced and very good. Friendly staff.

Review 11:My room was in need of updating . Can't speak for the others

Review 12:Friendly and accommodating owner. Secure bike parking

Review 13:Peaceful, inexpensive. Not fancy. I didn't eat there, except for a minimal breakfast of coffee and baguette.

Review 14:Best quality for price. Very clean, cosy. Staff very friendly even we arrived at midnight.

Review 15:The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good, the room was clean .Great value.

Review 16:Room could have done with a decor upgrade. Hotel garden was a bit unkempt. Didn't entice us to use the outside relaxing patio area.

Review 17:Was close to town centre and not expensive. Could come and go as you please. In house evening meal was value for money. Wine was not overpriced.

Review 18:At first sight appeared the hotel appeared rather "gothic" and gone to ruin..............but inside the facilities were OK.

Review 19:Bedroom outdated. Hotel needs investment to make more attractive.

Review 20:Friendly proprietor

Review 21:breakfast

Review 22:welcome unfriendly place run down

Review 23:good breakfast

Review 24:old fashioned rooms, rather ' tired' in need of re-decoration.

Review 25:friendly,, low price, easy parking and location

Review 26:Despite hotel's name, the garden needs a makeover and does not make for a good impression.

Review 27:Very helpful staff.
