Reviews for Hotel du Bowling de Millau
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Friendly staff (Manager recognized us from previous visits and bought us drinks) Unusual but fun setting. Dinner. Secure compounds for our motorbikes. Superb motorbiking roads.
Review 3:restaurant was a bit expensive, but this is France. though we did enjoy the cabaret
Review 4:Got our 2nd floor room changed to ground floor as requested which was a lovely disabled unit with very large shower. breakfast was adequate
Review 5:Hotel looks a bit like a workers' hotel - but it's clean and there's nothing wrong with it otherwise. Industrial location may put some people off, and it's on the outskirts of town - not for those planning to stay more than one night or hoping for some "Provance experience". But the place makes it good value for money.
Review 6:Great view from first floor window - we could see the whole town and Viaduc de Millau (reason for our visit). Good to be on that side of the hotel, otherwise all you get is a view of industrial buildings.
Review 7:The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Although I, unfortunately, do not speak French, they were very patient and helped us out whenever they could. My travelling Grand-son of 13 loved the bowling and games tables. This aspect helped break up our journey from Valencia to Calais and gave us a very welcome break from the long and tedious road trip. The beds are very comfortable indeed and also helped insofar as we both had an extremely good sleep. The views from the room were spectacular. Breakfast was good enough to set us both up for the ong trip up north!
Review 8:noisy school group talking till 1030pm when they were told to shut up
Review 9:balcony with pool view - lots of facilities / games room great for young people / groups
Review 10:The room was about 5x4 m, but with 4 beds / sleeping places you could hardly walk in the room.
Review 11:We had a room for disabled people, which meant a huge bathroom. big enough for a whole family to shower in ;-) Good large beds!
Review 12:Just a bit tricky to find
Review 13:We got a good peaceful and comfortable night sleep which we needed during our transit journey. Good views of the surrounding valley, gorges and suspension bridge
Review 14:First impression of site. However this does not matter in a budget hotel which is of very good value
Review 15:As the name implies a bowling alley is part of the hotel complex and the reception is actually within the bowling alley, which seems strange on arrival. There is a good restaurant attached to the bowling alley and the food is excellent and the price is very reasonable particularly for France. The hotel accommodation itself is separate from the bowling alley and the rooms are spacious and comfortable and clean. The parking is behind a high security fence with locked gates so gives good security. We had dinner which was good but did not have breakfast. Millau is fairly close by but we did not visit as had been before and also delayed by autoroute diversion taking 1hr 30mins !!
Review 16:Appearance awful , can't say much more as didn't get in .
Review 17:The fact that they said they were overbooked , even though we booked months ago , and then moved us to the Campanile across the road at the same price . Nice place , lovely food .
Review 18:The room was small and basic but adequate
Review 19:The place was clean and the breakfast fine. We loved the bowling alley - went bowling for the first time in decades
Review 20:I reported the broken showerhead connector immediately , it was not fixed before we left . The place could do with redecorating , tile trim (skirting ) was dirty and the walls. The shower curtain was in need of a good wash !
Review 21:proximity to Millau
Review 22:Design of family room was poor. Beds took up the whole space in room. No place to sit. No table next to bed.No space in between beds. Unable to close the door if you make even a very small space between the beds. No window in room. Only one electrical outlet in room. Expensive considering all the above. Although there is bowling and games nearby, the hotel itself was bleak and not welcoming.
Review 23:Beds were comfortable.
Review 24:Friendly staff.
Review 25:nothing
Review 26:clean tidy and everything we paid for good overnight stop
Review 27:Offered very poor value for money. 112 euros was very expensive for the type of room we were given.
Review 28:Air con was not functions well.
Review 29:Clean room,good shower
Review 30:Clean rooms & facilities Restaurant & Bar on site Secure parking Price
Review 31:Modern room and bathroom. Great view of hills.
Review 32:Closed parking and easy access to the room, nice and warm.
Review 33:Quiet & clean
Review 34:Very basic breakfast.
Review 35:Comfortable bed, and change of room without problem when first room was smoky.
Review 36:No negativ to say.
Review 37:Good for one night stay.
Review 38:The beds
Review 39:For a short stay it was very good .excellent location
Review 40:Appearance of hotel was rather austere
Review 41:Clean comfortable room
Review 42:Excellent meal
Review 43:Bowling alley Friendly and helpful staff who were English speaking Location Secure car parking
Review 44:Overpriced, run down, broken shower
Review 45:No English TV Channels
Review 46:Leisure facilities
Review 47:The staff really helpful.
Review 48:Location and service secure parking
Review 49:The shower head mounting was broken so you had to hold it as you tried to shower, which made it difficult to wash your hair as water escaped through the shower curtain. No plug for sink. No remote for air conditioner this is a very poorly maintained hotel and I get the impression the owners don't care.
Review 50:The bed was comfortable.
Review 51:Staff very helpful, room large and asked for ground floor and got it. People tried to understand and be understood. Close enough to centre of town but not too far. Great holiday place thanks
Review 52:the breakfast was poor. 6 euros for not a lot - no protein offered just croissants, pan au chocolat. Toaster broken.
Review 53:good value for money and as a stopover for a night it was ideal. room clean and bed comfortable,
Review 54:Restaurant menu translations to English was unreadable. Although rooms were clean, it had a strong chemical smell...but quickly cleared once windows were left open to ventilate room.
Review 55:Convenient location close to motorway junction and directly opposite big shopping complex and fuel station. Good restaurant and nice bowling alley! Also very nice views...
Review 56:A perfect mid-way stopover for our trip to South of France. Friendly staff, clean room and a restaurant/bar that is open every evening, including Sunday.
Review 57:We stayed 2 nights and ate in the Restaurant on the 2nd night. The food and choice was very good. We wished we had eaten there both nights. The Restaurant staff were very helpful and the price was good.
Review 58:Have stayed before but noticed that the walls in the room needed a lick of paint here and there - nothing major.
Review 59:Excellent value for money. We only wanted to crash for the night as driving from Spain to UK.
Review 60:A weird reception in the bowling alley but for the rest i can only recommend this hotel. Good quality beds and very quiet. Ideally suited for an overnight stay when traveling through.
Review 61:In need of repainting. When we first stayed a few years ago it was immaculate.
Review 62:Secure parking, get good sleep on comfortable beds, good size room and shower
Review 63:Room with no windows, approach road full of large holes, damp in room 3, door was damaged from previous forced entry it looked like, walls very dirty in the room, shower attachment broken and bathroom tiles disgusting
Review 64:Not far from motorway and supermarket
Review 65:The hotel reception is not open until 5pm, so if there is anything you need in the middle of the day (for example, you key card stops working) - forget about it. It is located miles away from the town and does not have a lot of entertainment in or near (definitely not during the day hours), so isn't worth going if you haven't got a car. Air conditioner smelled and didn't cool the room well enough, the shower holder was broken, and nobody did anything about it when we complained. Breakfast is quite poor, the evening meal is better, but is quite unpredictable, so ordering the same thing few days in a row, you may well get different food every time. Overall, better stay in one of the campings.
Review 66:The staff were friendly and helpful - that is when you manage to catch any of them; the room was clean and simple, with nice view of the town.
Review 67:Free parking, easy access, ideal for sight seeing viaduct, kids loved the bowling alley and other games available. It is a little out of town but we just wanted a bed for the night to break up a long journey.
Review 68:Hotel breakfast was very poor when likened to similar hotels, no coffee and the staff weren't interested in the customers. Felt vulnerable when first arrived The hotel staff customer service, poor
Review 69:Price Free parking WiFi available
Review 70:High price of drinks. I have never seen such a small glass of wine in my life!
Review 71:Friendly greeting and helpul attitude from guy on reception. Free Wifi.
Review 72:when we arrived, the receptionist said we had a two people room, although we booked 4 bed. Not very clean, maybe he had to improvise roomwise.
Review 73:beds where good the lady who runs the breakfast was very friendly.
Review 74:Check In isn't until 5pm, all buses stop running around 8pm taxis are hard to get, but hotel will order you one, but coming back is a problem, we asked a waiter to call the same one and they came, make sure you get the hospital/airport taxi, cost £10 euros
Review 75:on the serfice it appears very basic, but it is very quiet, the bowling alley doesn't interfere with the hotel at all, there is secure parking, the staff are very friendly esp the lady that does breakfast eventhough she doesn't speak English, you can get something to drink in the alley from 5pm till 11pm. I asked for a view of the bridge and got one, the rooms had air con, but the windows opened right up, l would deffinatly stay again.OH and easy to find
Review 76:It was a good hotel for the money and easy to get to the surrounding countryside for touring.
Review 77:Clean and comfortable hotel with free wifi and a good breakfast. A good hotel for an overnight stop.Good value for money.
Review 78:Reception/restaurant/ bowling alley all close during afternoon. As long as one is aware of this then it is fine, but we could not check in because of this and had to sleep in car until 1700 (were traveling and was tired).
Review 79:Very nice bar and restaurant which stayed open until late. Also had a nice bowling alley and social area which was very nice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bedding was fantastic!
Review 80:We stayed overnight in Millau for the purpose of viewing the viaduct - to our surprise and delight we found we had views of the viaduct from our hotel room. Hotel du Bowling du Millau was a very pleasant surprise in many ways. It was very clean, super comfortable beds and, even though there were quite a few guests, it was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again and happy to recommend it to others.
Review 81:Not one negative thing.
Review 82:The service was verry good. The room was alsoo verry nice. Therestaurant and the service was super. Inn one way;this is a goodplace too stay.
Review 83:Breakfast room did not open when due at 7am. Reception closed so couldnot ask about breakfast which was slready paid for. Eventally foundsomeone at7.30 Got our breskfast money back this made us late leavingand we had to stop on road for B.fast making us late getting to thrchannel tunnel. We would not stop at this hotel again.
Review 84:Good location Clean good size room
Review 85:The walls are thin, so it was quite noisy when people walked past down the hall.
Review 86:The hotel has comfy beds and was clean and tidy with gated carparking at night.
Review 87:The room we had was comfortable, as was the bed. The shower-room was very good indeed. We had a slight problem with the power supply, but phoned the reception who pointed out that one has to put one's "door-key" in the receiver by the lights to activate the plug sockets etc. The view from our room was excellent. Finding the hotel was easy with the aid of a satnav, but might be less so without such aid. Nearby were at least two restaurants which were relatively "dog-friendly". Breakfast - OK.
Review 88:No lift to upper floors but the staircase was easy. Only one light overthe bed when two would have been better.
Review 89:We were made welcome from the start and our room was clean, light andspacious. The bathroom was a good size. The restaurant provided goodmeal selection at very competitive prices I.E. the carte was 4 coursesfor less than 17€.
Review 90:They do not have a normal check in process. They had an automatic check in machine which was broken and a sign saying someone would be at check in at 5.00pm. We arrived just after 3.00pm. We did'nt fancy sitting in a car park for two hours so we checked in at another hotel.
Review 91:Nothing, we did not get to stay with them
Review 92:English translation on menu in restaurant would have been nice although I do understand I am in France.
Review 93:The room was very pleasant. Breakfast although not a lot of choice, was replenished by staff constantly.
Review 94:Do not be put off by the reception of the hotel (located within a bowling alley!) The hotel is clean, very comfortable and very good value for money. We usually stay in B&B /Premiere Classe or similar motels and this compares very favourably. Staff very friendly and helpful. Typical French motel location on outskirts of town but across the road from Geant supermarket with cafeteria and cheap petrol. Also a couple of restaurants nearby. If we leaned out of our (2nd floor) window we could even see the famous Millau Viaduct!!
Review 95:Triple room on ground floor didnt have a window. More than 1 key would have been useful for a triple room.
Review 96:Simple, functional and great value. Stayed last year too.
Review 97:Convenient for a touring holiday taking in the Millau bridge. The air conditioning was very welcome and the bowling restaurant convenient and very good value. there was also free wi-fi
Review 98:Very simple basic travellers hotel with no frills. Basic, cleancomfortable simple rooms with little light but have air conditioning.Usual simple European breakfast (no meat or cheese) 6 euros and free forkids if you ask nicely : ) Bowling alley, pool tables etc next door. Atthe top of town, will need to drive down into town 5 mins to find arestaurant in the evening.
Review 99:Backpacker decor at hotel prices. Breakfast was expensive for what was available.
Review 100:Easy access off the motorway, secured parking at night, fast and free wifi
Review 101:Could only book in late in the afternoon and pay at the time because no one is there in the mornings, but it seemed to be run very well.
Review 102:A very clean and tidy new building and the breakfast was good
Review 103:Room key wouldn't work so could only be admitted by hotel staff andcouldn't leave room again as no staff after midnight. Outside door fromroad needed same key and it didn't work there either. No soap inbathroom. Shower rail broken, inadequate towels. Food inedible.
Review 104:Secure parking
Review 105:I would find it hard to fault Hotel du Bowling De Millau.
Review 106:The hotel was very clean and in a quiet location, inspite of the factthat a bowling alley was next door, we were not disturbed at all. Iwould recommend Hotel du bowling De Millau as a perfect overnight stop.As we were travelling with a disabled person the facilities wereexcellent for him.
Review 107:This was a stop off point for us on our drive down to Spain. It is a budget hotel that offers everything you need for the night. There is free, secure parking, a restaurant/bar and a bowling alley. The hotel is basic but clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. Breakfast is optional but is a decent continental cold buffet. An excellent stopping off point with lovely scenery on offer too from the rooms. It is also very easy to find from the motorway. There is also free wifi in the rooms with easy connection.
Review 108:Have noted complaints from others about checking in procedure. Yes well you need to read the "small print". It does say checking in is from 5.oopm so if you turn up early you do take a chance on the automatic room checking machine round the side recognising your booking and credit card. It didn't for us. However a quick phone call to the telephone number on your booking form (remembering to put 0033 in front of the dialling number), and a very pleasant English speaking receptionist will come and let you in. The only other comment is that it is not within walking distance of the town of Millau where there are a number of shops and restaurants etc. So expect to drive/ride there for the evening etc.
Review 109:At first it might seem a bit odd staying at a hotel attached to a 10 Pin Bowling Club. But it works! The rooms were modern (the wet room/bathroom - fantastic). It was very quite because the facility itself is on a out of town semi industrial/shopping estate. The restaurant attached is very good both in terms of value for money and quality. Staff at the joint bowling club/hotel reception and restaurant were really good.
Review 110:We were extremely disappointed with the general condition of this hotel, the building seemed to be in need of a good clean up. Towels were of bad quality and some threadbare, the duvet covers had seen better days one of them was ripped. While having breakfast we were constantly watched by the waitress. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even for a one night stay.
Review 111:I did not stay there as the machine used for check-in, no sign of anyhumans at the property, did not have my reservation. Also when tried tocheck-in as a walk-up the price was 25% higher. I would not recommendthis hotel to anyone.
Review 112:The rooms very noisy and you could hear other guests.
Review 113:This Hotel was located about 5 Kilometers from the Millau Viaduct. This was the main reason we stayed at Millau. The Hotel was very good, and had free parking, free Wifi and everything you needed in your room. There is a restaurant on site and you can get good food. Would stay again.
Review 114:This is a simple, no frills form of accommodation suitable for thoseneeding a bed and a shower. The room was quite small and the fittingsare basic but functional for an appropriately inexpensive price. Theplace is a bit worn but the room was clean. The location is quiet atnight, set among commercial buildings and conveniently near a largesupermarket. Definitely not a luxury stopover but perfectly adequate forone night . Plenty parking and free WiFi. The reception is in a separateadjacent building in which there is a small bowling alley and arestaurant.
Review 115:excellent value, customer service, food and location. Our second visit enroute from Spain to UK. The Hotel is always our first choice. Staff very friendly and customer focussed and the hotel is always clean and comfortable. Have recommended to all our friends and family. See you soon. Roy and Anjnaxx
Review 116:A little bit hard to find, the map in Booking.com is not acutely it is,it is about 300-400 meters away. I suggest you can located it by googlemap, or you can ask people there. There is a bus stop around there butyou better drive there. It is really a good hotel to stay.
Review 117:Friendly staff, clean and bid size room, you can see the bridge in yourwindow. There are restaurant and big super market (Geant) near by, youcan walk there. Very Economic ( 2 persons for €39 per night). Close tothe bridge, about 5 minutes drive. We had a very happy stay there.Highly recommend for others.
Review 118:Bathroom shower recess needed a good clean. Internet not secured. No mapavailable of the town. Limited tourist information. Parking outside theroom not specific and not supervised - could be used by anyone. Doonafar to hot - lighter blankets need to be supplied for seasons other thanwinter. For the same price in lourdes I had a studio apartment with lotsof room and a kitchen, new, clean, lounge and dining area. This was justa bedroom and a bathroom.
Review 119:Restaurant provided a nice home cooked meal - not fancy, but plentiful.
Review 120:There was no brewing facilities in the room ie teasmaid. Also putting the address given into a sat nav takes you lower down into town and it is not easy to find if you have not been there before.
Review 121:Warm and comfortable, very clean food excellent. Value for money, noise from bowling alley no problem.
Review 122:Nothing everything was o>k>
Review 123:A bit suprised to find that the hotel reception was also the ten pinbowling pay desk, but the hotel room was basic but warm with a largecomfortable bed.A Bit like a modern Youth Hostel but a cheaper price !!a good breakfast
