Reviews for Château de Brindos
Review 1:Lack of coffee for the machine, only 2 capsules Internet very slowRestaurant very expensive for what you get Need to look a the detail ofthe room, the floor was slippery as it had been polished to a mirrorbut then the rug that was in it was curled up at the sides and kept ontripping over it Bathroom needed more refinement, it looked tired 5star hotel but without the service 25 euro per dog per night and wehave 2 of them, this is not listed on Bookings.com so that was adelightful surprise
Review 2:Ground floor room with access to the outside for the dogs Outlook overthe lake was nice and peaceful once the aeroplanes had stopped
Review 3:Most of the staff seems unhappy or depressed Concierge staff needs more training in how to give information to guests. They were unable to direct me to a small, quiet beach with a restaurant. i had to find one on the internet. They need training regarding allergies. (Twice in one meal they served food containg nuts - after learning I am allergic to nuts. The hotel needs a new gardener. Many plants are dead or half dead. The maintenence staff needs changing. In my room a door knob fell off, the cupboard door knobs were loose and lmost fell off, the curtains had holes. The kitchen needs a new , more talented chef. The kitchen staff and chef needs more training on how to receive and feed a vegetarian guest. The current staff has no idea. They knew in advance I was a vegetarian and did not prepare. on the first night at dinner I ordered some mixed vegetables and a side irder of potatoes. It was a simple request. The maitre d said the kitchen did not have many vegetables. A verv small plate of bland vegetables arrived. And no potatoes. i was told i couldnt have potatoes because all the potatoes were mixed with ham. i asked if the cook could simply slice a fresh potato and boil for ten minutes. Half an hour later a small dish of half raw potatoes appeared . i took a bite. There was a strange undertaste of smoked ham. The next few days my husband and I ate in other restaurants which were marvellous. We consudered finding another hotel but did not find another on with rooms.
Review 4:The lake view.
Review 5:Air con ineffective .you cannot open the window at night on the ground floor due to cats etc to,cool the room down.
Review 6:Very quiet location .lovely staff.nice restaurant
Review 7:The fact the AC unit failed in my room, which caused two nights of uncomfortable sleeping. I could not stay in a beautiful room due to the extreme heat.
Review 8:Everything!
Review 9:Breakfast was appalling. Service almost non-existent, quality of food poor, room where breakfast buffet was laid out was extremely dark - difficult to make out one yoghourt flavour from another - bread almost impossible to cut, only six eggs available ( to diy cook) when there must have been at least 20 guests, the bacon was fatty and undercooked, the scrambled egg looked like semolina
Review 10:The staff were friendly and efficient, the bedrooms large and extremely comfortable, Dinner was delicious and service excellent
Review 11:No turn down every night No new toiletries Screws missing from bathroom handle Tie back missing from curtain No iron or facilities
Review 12:Location size of rooms Restaurant
Review 13:Very, very disappointed with breakfast arrangements. To list but a few grouches: Breakfast buffet was in a room which was dark and it was hard to see what was available - especially yoghurt flavours No grown-up cereals - i.e. mueseli The bacon (which should have been crispy looked very unappetising, fatty and uncooked The scrambled egg (if that is what it was!) looked like semolina Bread very hard to cut Both mornings we had to ask for more eggs as there were only six available There only seemed to be one waitress - and the second morning we had to lay our own table - service was almost non- existent
Review 14:We loved the room (and bathroom) - the bed was extremely comfortable. The quietness, the staff - who were friendly and extremely helpful (they recommended and booked a restaurant in St. Jean de Luz for us and it was excellent!) and dinner was delicious - with - again - excellent service.

Review 30:Château De Brindos is a beutiful Hideaway for Couples. It is located on a small lake and near to the Citycenter of Biarritz. We spent three days here during the "Wheels and Waves" event this year. We had the full support from the hotel. The Service was extraordinary and outstanding. Thanks to the management for the nice upgrade which we received. We will be back next year
Review 31:Booked a lake view room but given at first a room with no view of thelake. Do the staff try you on?Pillows were lumpy and they didn't have any better. Don't know how the air conditioning would be over a hot period we had to keep asking for it to be put on.
Review 32:Lovely property with good facilities. Bedroom and bathroom large withseparate toilet. The main Chateau has a good bar, lounge and a Michelinone star restaurant. It is in the countryside and I would recommend you have a car.
Review 33:A beautiful chateau in a rural lakeside setting, close to Biarritzairport, but you would never guess. Spacious elegant room with balcony,a superb bed and a beautiful bathroom, together with a relaxing saturdaymorning breakfast in the palm restaurant overlooking the lake. Verycharming female staff, France at its best. We have stayed once beforeand it did not disappoint the second time. Should have stayed the fullweekend, but would have required a car (or taxi), each time intoBiarritz town centre where we were visiting.
Review 34:The food could have been a little more varied for dinner, not too many choices.
Review 35:We loved the view of the lake, and also liked eating dinner and breakfast outside, next to the lake.
Review 36:We were informed that having breakfast on the terrace is 25 euro insteadof 18 only at check out.
Review 37:Amazing, however, expensive breakfast. Castle arranged with attention todetails that affords relax time in luxury location.
Review 38:We (a couple with a 2-year old) stayed in Chateau de Brindos for one night mid-July and had an amazing time. We found that everything about this place was great: large rooms, heated outdoor pool, food, nice and relaxed staff, grounds, ... Also very close to the airport. Highly recommended!
Review 39:On arrival we discovered that a motorcycle rally was to happen in the grounds that day. the next day there was a large party. both these events went on until two-thirty in the morning outside our window. We could reduce the noise by closing the windows but the Air-conditioning was not working therefore the room was exceedingly hot. When asked the all the staff could say was "sorry"! No offer of recompence for the disruption. Wonderful place but beware of "events " during your stay.
Review 40:This is almost an idyllic escape good situation and nice grounds.
Review 41:Expensive but exquisite
Review 42:Duck at dinner was a little disappointing.
Review 43:We have stayed there twice before. So it is a regular favourite.
Review 44:The five star quality, location and ease of access from major roads. Paying back the owner for his performance on the rugby field
