Reviews for Hotel Paraíso Del Mar

Review 1:Very friendly, helpful staff. As it was my wedding anniversary we were given a free upgrade to a room overlooking the sea with flowers and champagne on arrival. Henrique the owner made us feel very special.

Review 2:Super hotel - small and peaceful in great location The staff were so friendly and helpful We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, did not want to leave and will definitely return

Review 3:Nothing really. Parking may be tricky in summer but in November we found free street parking ... I think there is some hotel parking for a fee.

Review 4:we loved the location with a terrace area overlooking the cliffs and beach below. Plenty of places to sunbathe including on the private stairs down to the beach. Had a friendly looked after feel with a touch of 80s vintage (in a good way). The breakfast was one of our best in Spain which we ate on the outside tables. Welcome drink on arrival nice touch and appreciated. Staff were all friendly and helpful from manager to cleaners . Our room was one of the cheaper options as travelling on a budget, but had a comfy bed and nice spa bath - small ish but everything we wanted. The rooms with sea views /balcony would be a real treat next time! We would definitely come back for longer so we could use the facilities of pool and jacuzzi (bit cold for us in November). didn't want to leave .

Review 5:The room we had was spacious and well appointed but cheaper than others so didn't have sea views. It is worth paying extra for the view. Tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been nice.

Review 6:Excellent location with beautiful sea views and steps down to Burriana beach. Breakfast had extensive buffet with everything you could wish. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 7:We didn't have any negative experiences. The only people who might not get the full experience are those with disabilities due to lack of beach access without tackling numerous stairs.

Review 8:Upon arrival we were met with an offer of wine or coffee and a tour of the beautiful grounds. Lovely view, large. Bathroom huge with jacuzzi tub. Nice room. Property on the cliff overlooking the sea, access down terraced steps with colorful flowers, fountain, pool and grassy area. Breakfast a feast on the patio.

Review 9:Getting a bit faded round the edges. Some furnishings in the villa suite have seen better days.

Review 10:What a treat, lovely welcome, great views and a plentiful buffet breakfast. Beautiful gardens, plenty of places to relax and enjoy the views. Very nice house white wine.

Review 11:If I had to critique one thing, it might be the ease of getting in/out of the jacuzzi in the bathroom. Not terribly easy if you're not used to acrobatics or a bit unsteady; but where there's a will.... we found quite an easy way of sitting on the side of the bath on a towel and swinging ones legs around in to the tub! Having said that, the jacuzzi was wonderfully relaxing, so well worth the effort! I'm struggling to find anything to mention beyond this! Even using the steps up from the beach wasn't the problem I thought it might be as there are so many resting places....and on one lung, I naturally get out of breath quite quickly... but even this wasn't a problem!! :)

Review 12:We had a lovely relaxing 10 days at the Paraiso; the staff are fabulous, so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Our jnr. suite was clean and comfortable, serviced daily; roof terrace was great as were the pool, the hot tub and the communal sunbeds. The steps down the the beach were very cleverly done, zig-zagging up the cliff with plenty of pretty places to rest or sunbathe en-route. The breakfasts were amazing - 'continental breakfast' is an understatement, a fabulous variety of food and my gluten intolerance was very well taken care of! Not least of all, the amazing sea views from the breakfast terrace! I can't praise the staff enough...Thank you one and all! We had the most lovely relaxing holiday....which was very, very much needed and so much enjoyed! You didn't disappoint!

Review 13:Staff was wonderful view was amazing . We stayed in the penthouse and it was beautiful and very reasonably priced . We would definitely go there again .

Review 14:Room could have little more small things such as water cooker with some tea. Expected more modern room.Everything clean and fine but thougt it will be more modern for these amount.

Review 15:Amazing views from balcony! Friendly staff. Good breakfast and best of it that ot lasts untill 11:30 so you can sleep well! Good location.Liked a lot! thank you!

Review 16:We had a lovely warm welcome from the staff of this clean, well located Hotel. Breakfast was also good and we had a great, relaxing time there. S. Whiteley, UK.

Review 17:The most upsetting thing was that the room terrace is practically shared with the adjacent room, and since the terrace is besides the bedroom you need to fully close the curtains to get some privacy otherwise your neighbors in the terrace has a direct look into your bedroom. Besides that, the WiFi didn't work (staff said there's a problem with it) and the breakfast was mediocre. I also think that this hotel is overpriced.

Review 18:Friendly staff, large room with Jacuzzi and a large bathroom, good location close to the center of Nerja & the beach, great view of the beach.

Review 19:The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Beautiful terraced with a wonderful view of the sea. Nice and clean room. An excellent breakfast. I will certainly come back.

Review 20:Exceptional place. Never felt so welcome! Glorious views. True oasis in the summer heat. Ideal location. Will certainly come again. Thank you for you thoughtful & generous hospitality.

Review 21:Great welcome from Shayla and excellent service by the rest of the staff. The hotel's location is stunning – beautiful views of Burriana and only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Nerja. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 22:This hotel is the best little hotel in the world, it's like being in the home of your best friend. Staff absolutely wonderful, truly amazing people, absolutely nothing too much trouble. 10/10. Will definitely return.

Review 23:From the moment we met the staff they were so friendly and so helpful. I hope you get to met Henry he is such an Amazing character. The location is perfect, the views are post card worthy. I had never been to Nejar and we stayed one night at the hotel and was perfect location to everything we wanted to do or see, the hotel is amazing for a two star. The next day they let as use all the facilities in the hotel after we checked out, would totally recommend this hotel.

Review 24:The friendliness of the staff, the location of the hotel just beside the beach with private access, the varied breakfast, the general efficient, friendly atmosphere, the help with parking.

Review 25:Rooms near front door were noisy as you could everything said as people walked by or talked at reception or bar.

Review 26:Great receptionist, very friendly and helpful. Wonderful view, many balconies to relax on or the beach at the base of the stairs. The breakfast was amazing.

Review 27:The spa bath , especially the shower attachment you had to hold. Prefer a shower you can stand under

Review 28:The view, especially from breakfast. The gardens, access to beach. The personal solarium.

Review 29:Room was terrible Cleanliness doubtful (especially the bathroom) Bed was terrible No balcony

Review 30:Location_ excellent Breakfast_excellent Friendliness of staff_excellent

Review 31:Do check the location of your room by phone as some are in locations that offer little privacy i.e one room looks out onto the main steps of the pool so passers by peer straight in.

Review 32:Fantastic staff, great location and very friendly atmosphere. The hotel is just set back from the beach giving perfect views but away from the noise. Our room (208) was very spacious and overlooked the bay.

Review 33:wifi needs improvement - really bad connection. Penthouse is huge with nice view of the bay but needs a little refurbishment here and there.

Review 34:Location and the view.

Review 35:The decor isn't to my taste, but that's a personal view.

Review 36:The location is second to none. There is a sitting area near a small pool but I preferred the secluded terraces off the path going down to the gated entrance to the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful too

Review 37:Best breakfast ever with the most fantastic view! Staff was the most accommodating and couldn't be any nicer. A pleasure to stay there. It is like staying at a small hotel in another century, friendly, helpful, and very personal. Thank you for all!

Review 38:Front desk staff members are lovely. Upon check-in, the staff invite you to have something to drink. Gregorio, Sheila, and the owner are highly customer-service oriented. They always offer assistance with a smile. The terraced garden down to the beach was excellent for private sun bathing yet easy to the beach via many stairs.

Review 39:Only complaint is the lack of a shower in the suite. Jacuzzi tub was useless to us. Had to shower on the rooftop terrace with swim suit on

Review 40:Small hotel feels more personal, excellent location, excellent beach, very friendly and helpful staff

Review 41:Nothing!

Review 42:Gregorio welcomed us with attention and class. He gave us a tour of the facilities and made us feel right at home! Our junior suite was beyond our expectations of a two star hotel.

Review 43:I didn't like the outdoor hot tub not working properly as I would have liked to have used that. Everything else was faultless

Review 44:The hotel is very personal. The staff will do anything for their guests to make their stay and more enjoyable one. The grounds and rooms were fantastic.

Review 45:that we only stayed 1 night!

Review 46:everything!!! Private little areas with sun lounges, private access to beach, etc. Sheila recommend Scarletta's for dinner (modern Spanish with a twist). OMG, best food we had in a week. Try to order the brownie dessert if you can, amazing!!!

Review 47:Absolutely nothing to report, our stay was excellent. We booked for one night and stayed for two, on the spur of the moment!

Review 48:Friendliness and efficiency of all staff. Cleanliness of the hotel throughout. Comfort and magnificence of the bedroom. Views to the sea. Access to the beach.

Review 49:The hot tub in the garden area was not working but then we did have a lovely jacuzzi bath in our room so it didn't really matter.

Review 50:Fabulous location overlooking the beach. Also easy 5/10 minute walk through lovely little streets into the old town area with its many little bars and restaurants. Lovely gardens with countless little patio areas all the way down to the beach. Spotlessly clean in the room and throughout garden areas. Staff all very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble including early breakfast on day we were leaving. The whole experience of staying here was an absolute delight and one we will definitely be repeating.

Review 51:We stayed for a too short period.

Review 52:We liked the place, the village, the sea but on top of all the hotel. The owner is a great guy, making everything for you in order that you enjoy the vacation. A must of if you want to visit Nerja.

Review 53:It's hell trying to find a parking place around the hotel; the hotel offers paid parking, but they have to get your car every time you need it.

Review 54:Super location : Nerja old town : nice 10' walk Light and airy, comfortable rooms Pet friendly !! (exception in this part of Spain) Great breakfast buffet with sea view Very friendly staff

Review 55:The dank bathrooms in the penthouse were very of putting they need a refurb & smell from drains was awful when weather was windy which is was frequently

Review 56:Loxation

Review 57:There is nothing to complain about at all!

Review 58:The hospitality was beyond belief! The hotel was absolutely stunning! The views were stunning. The breakfast was delicious too! xx

Review 59:can't think of anything!

Review 60:Loved the location and the beautiful terraced gardens leading down to the beach. Breakfast (plentiful) on the terrace in the sunshine was a treat. Balcony with a sea view was delightful.

Review 61:Junior suite with rooftop terrace Staff were really nice The pastries and cakes at breakfast were brilliant Welcome drink when you arrive Allowed us to have breakfast earlier because we had a flight Close to centre of town Private access to beach

Review 62:the steep steps (101 of them) to the beach and back. the roof terrace was great but the spiral staircase was very difficlut to negotiate when not 100% mobile

Review 63:the views, the grounds and the access to the town. The breakfast is so good it sets one up for the day

Review 64:Everything you could ask for. Incredibly friendly staff. Very clean and spacious room. Great view. Good breakfast. Small so peaceful. Plenty of little niches to enjoy the view and sea.

Review 65:a charming place to stay! The view is second to none and the location is perfect. Beautiful bars and restaurants within a short walk. Above all the staff were just lovely- friendly, helpful and accomodating. Shayla was such a nice lady for whom nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait to go back.

Review 66:The view from our suite over Burriana beach was superb. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The location is quiet and ideal for walking into the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 67:matress was a bit to soft, thin blanket, rooms near reception a bit noisy in the morning.

Review 68:staff is very friendly and helpfull. breakfast on terrace with great view. private beach.

Review 69:Where to start? Some of the friendliest, most helpful staff we have ever come across. Immaculately clean. Quiet. Superb location, on the cliffs above Burriana beach and five minutes stroll to restaurants, bars and shops. Smashing breakfast, more than adequate with a selection of cold meats, cheese, and smoked salmon plus bacon and eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and really fresh bread. Grounds well maintained. All in all, I don't think we could have done better in Nerja.

Review 70:The only negative thing I could say is that the coffee isn't very good. That could be a deal-breaker for some people, so hopefully the hotel will work on that detail. We ended up going down to a cafe at the end of the street, where we were able to get some great coffee in the mornings.

Review 71:Every member of the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Lovely glass of wine when we arrived. The hotel is gorgeous and the location perfect, perched right above the sea, with private entrance to the beach. Loved the lounge chairs scattered about the property. Wonderful to sit outside and enjoy the lovely buffet breakfast with such an amazing view of the water. We were in a Junior Suite, room 109, which had a private terrace that we enjoyed a lot. While our terrace gave a spectacular view of the water and surroundings, our room looked out onto the lovely garden. All in all, a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend it.

Review 72:Our welcome was friendly and relaxed. This is an excellent boutique hotel with a first rate attitude to customer service. We had an early start to catch a flight but this was not a problem as the hotel arrange a full breakfast service for us. The location is ideal with on site parking available and the views are all superb.

Review 73:We liked the friendliness of the staff and location, breakfast was very good.A very good all round hotel,we will make a point of always staying there when we go to Gibralter 16 Nov 2014

Review 74:One warning. It is over 140 steps down and, more importantly, up from the beach although you can take a longer route by road.

Review 75:The location - fantastic views over the beach and sea, a couple minutes stroll from the centre of town - and staff are really what make this place. We felt genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived and the staff seemed collectively primed to go the extra mile to help us during our stay. This place, unlike so many others, is mindful that it's called the hospitality business for a reason!

Review 76:Kitchen require renovation. Small bath room in master bed(can beredesighned by the owner)

Review 77:Huge and clean exellent view helpfull staffs espicially the owner nicebreak fast

Review 78:Not the hotel's fault but the noise from the all night festival nearby spoiled the week end. Hotel were helpful and even gave us ear plugs. It's only on once a year so avoid the second weekend in October.

Review 79:Excellent breakfasts, helpful staff lovely small tropical garden

Review 80:Can't think of anything

Review 81:The sea views and getting away from the rest if the resort in minutes The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you.

Review 82:The hotel is in a one way street and the signs are seen only once youhave passed it, so tricky to find by car. No street parking to speak of,but there is an underground car park, though staff park your car and youneed to give 10 minutes's notice to retrieve it. We paid extea for ajunior suite in order to have a private sun roof, but this is not reallynecessary as the grounds are quiet and spacious, and the access to theroof was via not easy to negotiate spiral staircase.

Review 83:The setting of this hotel is superb; a quiet corner of Nerja withmagnificent sea views high above the beach, yet within easy walkingdistance of the Balcony de Europa and the town. Beautiful, very wellmaintained grounds, with pool, hot tub and plenty of sun beds. There isprivate access to the beach, but you need to be fit and energetic totake advantage if this. I counted 88 steps and was only two thirds ofthe way down! However, on the way down there are niches with tables andchairs and/or sun loungers, all in beautifully maintained littlesettings. Lovely breakfast served in the garden with the sun sparklingon the sea. Only 17 rooms, so small and friendly; helpful butunobtrusive staff. It was lovely to find the room made up when wereturned from breakfast.

Review 84:Nothing

Review 85:The location is amazing and can only be experienced to be appreciated. I had the room near reception which was lovely despite the negative reviews I had read. Breakfast is wonderful served on the terrace with beautiful views. Perfect. I hope to return.

Review 86:Decor is a bit tired, and bar area very small so no inclination for guests to sit for a drink at night. Linen not changed often enough.

Review 87:Nice hotel in amazing location right on coast. Beautiful views on all sides, lovely grounds, and private access to Biryanna beach below. Good breakfast on lovely terrace. Staff/management very helpful.

Review 88:The access to the beach was wonderful and the stairs down the the sea had many places to sit or lay and relax and enjoy the scene. We had a great time. The staff were also very nice and helpful during our stay. We would recommend this place and would stay again.

Review 89:The only issue we had was guests smoking during breakfast on the terrace.

Review 90:Spectacular location with easy access to beach as well as ample sunbathing terraces on-site. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 91:no parking

Review 92:Great welcome, small but perfectly formed room (we only stayed one night), great view from cliff, stairs down to beach, best breakfast we had on the whole trip! Hope to go back!

Review 93:The bedding and towels were very clean, although sheets were very dated and towels were not changed in 3 days.

Review 94:We loved the location and the welcoming staff, friendliness and willingness to help us. Bed was comfortable and good size; plenty of space in the room and storage. With own balcony. view was great - we were upgraded to a 2nd floor room with sea view.

Review 95:Stayed in junior suite, there was no wall mounting for shower head which meant for awkward showering while standing in jacuzzi bath. Limited hotel parking, need to be sure to book in advance during busy months.

Review 96:Almost Everything!!! Great location, lovely views, direct access to beach and great terraces for sunbathing, quirky boutique style, very friendly staff, good breakfast.

Review 97:Decor of room was a bit dated but it was clean and comfortable.

Review 98:The hotel is in a great location with fantastic views of the beach and mountain from its terraces. We had a large double room. The bed was very comfortable. Th breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There were a variety of terraces to use just off the steps leading down to the beach. There was never a shortage of sun beds. It was an easy walk into Nerja.

Review 99:Large settee blocking sliding wardrobe a single armchair would be better. No shower head hanger in bath.

Review 100:The location and facility's with lots of small sun traps to lounge in, away from the main building. Large room, big bathroom with jacuzzi bath and privet sun terrace.

Review 101:Cannot say anything negative about our stay.

Review 102:Only one word describes this Hotel and that is " fantastic" We were welcomed into their "home" and made to feel like one of the family. Nothing was too much trouble.and really can't praise it enough and will recommend it to everyone. A return visit is a must.

Review 103:We had the small room off the lobby so it was a little noisy. But we didn't spend much time in the room, so it was okay

Review 104:Loved the direct access to the beach. Good breakfast. Variety of private terraces to spend the afternoon.

Review 105:everything, it was perfect place to rest, the staff was really helpfull and kind, we have a perfect view on whole the beach, the breakfast was excellent, many vatrious of food, a lot of fruits. We spent 4 night in big apartments on the top of the hotel we absolutely recomend this place.

Review 106:Great welcoming Owner and Staff, Excellent View, brilliant location with access to the beach. Totally relaxing with a personnel roof terrace that catches the sun until 8.

Review 107:Paraiso del Mar is a gem. A beautiful building with fantastic views to the sea, and sun terraces as you wind your way down the steps to the ocean below. Exceptional, professional staff, who will do everything they can to ensure that your stay is wonderful. We will be back.

Review 108:Breathtaking view. I don´t think that picuters can do the place justice. Everything worked excellente from very beginning. From the smile you get at the reception, to nice breakfast, to beatyfull terraces down to the beach... Just the perfect place. What I loved the most is how carring the staff was about my two kids, age 7 and 10, asking them how if they need anything and smiling and kidding with them. Never felt welcome like that.... Enrique, the owner through a barbequeparty for all the guest during our stay. Food was excellent, there was planty to drink but the best part was that he took the time to talk to every guest, making them feel special... Beach was great as well, walking tisdtance to the center of Nerja.

Review 109:3 bed penthouse but only one remote for the Air Conditioning units. Would have liked to be able to control Air Con per bedroom via separate remotes or from the unit itself. Would have liked to be able to buy snacks or sandwiches for lunch from the hotel.

Review 110:Helpful and friendly staff, quality breakfast & great choice, fab view from penthouse, spacious penthouse suite, hotel organised transfers for us, wonderful staff reception on arrival and departure.

Review 111:It is over 150 steps down to the sea, but there are many rest stops and fountains along the way

Review 112:Truly a paradise on the sea. Extraordinarily gracious service complements iconic sea views. Romantic rooms, and private access to the wonderful waterfront

Review 113:Wall mounted AC unit can be noisey at times.

Review 114:Location, hotel staff can not do enough for their guests, nothing is too much to ask they will provide. They help unload the luggage from the car, free welcome drink to help cool off. Attention to detail in every manner!!

Review 115:WiFi was spotty.

Review 116:Owner, Enrique; location; view.

Review 117:Very friendly staff and helpfull great welcome on arrival great hotel .

Review 118:Excellent ,convenient location.very good staff

Review 119:Location was amazing. People were delightful and couldn't do enough for you. Great little hotel.

Review 120:Very good location, great service and great hotel. Changed our vacation from good to great.

Review 121:Smelly bathrooms, poor kitchen facilities, old furniture.

Review 122:Fabulous views from the penthouse. Great breakfast. Good staff. Beds good.
